I’m enjoying your renovation so much! Thank you for making each video so intriguing. I can’t wait till the next one. I vote yes on the haunted house story! 😊
Enjoying the updates. The Butlers Pantry is looking so good. Yes to the haunted house and can't wait to hear about the genealogy. Jeanette, New Zealand.
I love the grounds at Sugarwood so much! All those stunning trees! Bless you and Ben for being able to live with that mess for weeks. I honestly don’t think I could ever do it.
I admire your ability to make decisions. Even if you go back and forth on something, you get things done. I can't even choose paint color for the walls. I want to hear all of the stories!
Your hair looks fabulous and great call on three shelves over two! The more the merrier! Of the three wallpapers, I love the first two over the third, but all are beautiful and whichever one resonates with your heart is all that matters. Whichever one you choose, it will be lovely. Also, moving the microwave to the other side makes great sense. Perfect placement! Thanks for sharing your busy progress! ❤
Wow everything is coming together so beautifully! I love all the wallpaper samples. It’s so hard to decide isn’t it? Love your cabinets, both kitchen and butler’s pantry! And yes!! Let’s have some haunted news!!
Linda, your hands-on approach to decision-making is so helpful to the contractors. I am sure they appreciate that. It allows them to get it right without guessing what you may or may not want. The remodel is coming along so well. Thank you so much for sharing this with us!❤
I bought my Mom a Cuisinart back in 1981 and paid $110 for it back then. I have it now and after 41 years, it still chops and mixes and works as well as they first time it was used. They don't make things like they used to, but this was one of the best investments! And I enjoy and love the way your kitchen and butler's pantry is progressing. You are making all the right calls! 👍
Many years ago, when I was young I had to leave my home. Luckily, my friend found me a job as a live-in nanny for a very wealthy family living in a mansion in Newport, RI. Up until then I did not believe in ghosts, but this place was definitely haunted. A "woman" lived in the attic. My friend was also a nanny at the house and we both saw her from time to time (and also saw the effects of her shenanigans - faucets turning on and off, items moving around, etc.). The gardener also saw her, as did the kids for whom we were nannying. The owner of the house was quite aware of her presence, too. My friend and I were often left alone in this huge mansion with the kids (for days at a time). We all ended up sleeping in the same room. I was terrified to go anywhere in the house alone. I actually wrote a story about it and a writer in Hollywood is converting into a screenplay!
As a retired professional paperhanger, I think the larger print will be lost with all the cuts you will have to make. I love the first one, matches perfectly. I'm sure there would be something very similar on the market if that one is discontinued. The last one with the blue, I don't care for. The back round color gets lost, the blue is predominant. And by the way, the exterior of my home, garage, sheds and shop are all the color Briarwood. I have had this color for many years. I actually had everything painted a couple of years ago using the same Briarwood (I love it so much that I didn't want to change). You have good taste!
@@newenglandfineliving So looking forward to the completion of the kitchen. You have done such a great job putting it all together, great attention to detail. Make it the way you want it to be. After all, you are the one living there!
This is all so interesting. I know living it is so different. Everything will end up just gorgeously. We will have witnessed the process to get to that point. You are amazing, Linda.🎉👏 I love that you, and your husband have a date night each week. Thank you for sharing this with us. 💫💛🤗
Hi Linda! I sometimes get up at 4:30 am but I am amazed that you are so “with it” without coffee! Everything is really coming together and your decisions are really good ones…shelves, moving microwave, and the other things that always seem to surface when remodeling. The contractors doing a super job. I have had my Cuisinart food processor (9 cup) since the early 90’s. it still works well…use it for pastry, pizza crust, and other things. My KitchenAid mixer was bought in 1979 and it’s still going strong. Perhaps because they are older, they are better made. Love your date night with Ben…love seeing pictures of the places you go. Everything is going to be beautiful; feel like it’s my kitchen. Thanks so much Linda-look forward to your adventures.
My decor is mostly earth tones so I don't have a speck of blue, but the blue wallpaper made my heart happy. I think it would be beautiful. In my next home, I will definitely incorporate more greens and blues.
I have that exact mini food chopper. I got it in 1989 at my wedding shower and still work’s beautiful. I do have the KitchenAid processor in black and it’s fine after 5 years. 😊
Having fun watching these videos as the kitchen progresses. I also use the steel wool trick and it really works, when I redid my kitchen and pulled out the old cabinets did the same thing. Hang in there, when it’s all over, it’ll well be worth it.
Very exciting Linda! I'm going to be remodeling my kitchen this year. I appreciate you making changes as you go - let's me know it's okay to change your mind!
Linda, your patience with the reno project is admirable. I’m not even living in the chaos but I’m chomping at the bit for it to be competed. And YES to hearing the haunted tales of the Groton house 👻
Such a fun video. Absolutely loving everything you’re doing in the kitchen. Thanks for taking us along for the ride! And, proof that the Groton house was haunted?!? Yes, please! 🤗
I so love your videos. I always hate when they end. You always leave me wanting more. I can't wait to see your kitchen and how I wish I had a butler's pantry. I would love to hear about the haunting of your other home. Please hurry back.
Your home is so New England traditional. I love your home. I love the toile. It seems in keeping with your home's style. In the end you have to love and live with it.
Looks like your kitchen is moving along. I love that you take us along. I have had a Hamilton Beach food processor for quite awhile and it has been great. I also have one of those Black and Decker small choppers. They last forever. Yes, I would love for you to talk about the ghosts in your previous home. You have such an interesting channel. I never miss a video. Thanks!
Enjoying all of everything that is going on in your home.. Love it.. Can’t wait for the next updates.. Yes I would like to know about Groton House..!! Thank you..
When my Kitchen Aid mixer died after 20 years, my husband sanded down the brass accessory drive bushing which was binding and would not allow the machine to operate...viola, it worked! Your contractor and workers are doing outstanding work and committed to project. And yes....proof that your house was haunted and how you lived through that experience.
Linda, we renovated an old farmhouse about 6 years ago. Yikes, what a project! Everything was crooked and needed to be replaced😬! However, we have lived in many new homes and this is by far my favorite. You just need a lot of money and patience, ha, ha!
Linda you have helped me so much! I’m working with a contractor on several med range to small projects. Before watching your videos I thought I had to have all the answers immediately. Instead now I’m taking my time and looking at choices first. Thank you ❤
I vote YES as well Linda! I'd love to hear about the haunted house! Regarding the lifetime of appliances which are made overseas...It's just poor quality and poor workmanship. We are in our second set of washer and dryer in only 6 years. The same goes for my LG refrigerator. We have come to terms with the fact that they won't last more than 2 years. My little hand mixer is 42 years old and still going strong. It was made here in the USA. Things are looking really great in your kitchen!
I have an Oster blender that I got after I lost everything in a hurricane. I had my daughter on the day of the hurricane and the blender is as old as she. The blender is 52 years old and still going strong.
my black n decker food processor has lasted me a very long time i use it alot i also have a black n decker small chopper this one i bought at yard sale for 25 cents ...ive used it for 12 yrs now and the little thing is still going strong i use it DAILY... cant go wrong w/black n decker products IMO
The Bedford Inn is so charming, we ( my daughter and I ) are floral and event designers and did a corporate party there, it was such a beautiful setting. When we went for the sight visit we had lunch there and everything was delicious! I am so enjoying your kitchen and butlers pantry renovation.
It's all slowly coming together. I'm enjoying watching you.r reno from Melbourne and seeing all your snow garden pics while we are sweltering in very high temperatures. I too am remodelling my home and just got done with the kitchen. The walls are still needing to be painted. My next part is my staircase and that I am really looking forward to. It all takes time and time to save the money. And I like you am maintaining the character and not gutting it and turning it into a 'modern' masterpiece for lack of a better word. My home is 31 years old built by me and hubby and is French Manor style. Love your videos Linda. ❤️
I had a KitchenAid that burnt out so I invested in a 12 cup Ninja - very happy with it and was lucky to catch it on sale. I make a lot of bread and let my Ninja do all the kneading, can’t beat it.
I made my husband watch this one. Look at everything they are doing! We can too! He agrees with me. We bought our house with the thought of improvement. Your videos are making us move forward in our own renovation so thank you! Love the pantry and especially the double oven!❤️
Yes, please share your haunted house story. I live in one now, and I have to deal with so many things all of the time. Also, I lived in New England, since the time I was born, till about 1992, and most places my family lived were haunted to some degree. I’m always interested in other peoples stories, and what they live/lived with and had to deal with. I love to see your houses, and all the places you take us, in New England. I feel like I’m home, if only for a little while.
Linda I love the Laurel wreath wall paper the best! You mentioned a place for vases, they are such a pain storing them! I must have ten large ones and ended up putting in attic since they are so big and definitely seasonal. Your kitchen is really coming together now starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel! And yes Groton house ghosts please share Kind Regards, Jan
Love haunted houses and I am voting for the wallpaper with the fabric look background, but of course it is your decision. LOL I agree with the placement of the microwave, good choice. I do not like appliances sitting on the cupboard, so we have a large pantry cabinet where we can store them all. Except the coffee maker, that gets used constantly. Everything is coming along nicely and I bet you cannot wait until it is all complete. Your patience amazes me!
I am also remodeling and have been living in the basement since August. Many, many snafus with our kitchen due to a designer who has done terribly sloppy work - I've taken over and now we are moving forward. Anyway, I love seeing your progress. I always learn something when I watch your videos and I welcome the information. As for haunted houses - I lived in one around Ocean Drive in Newport, RI - it was wild dealing with "her".....
Oh, the mess...I would be beside my self... The kitchen will be so nice in the end...wallpapers are all fabulous..my home is all blue, beigh,white..people say it is so soft...touches of pink and grey.. I use to have all jewel tones..many years...moved and bought all new everything, and went soft..love my new change.. Keep going my friend..very exciting to watch.. ❤
Love seeing the progress on the kitchen and pantry. I would love any of the papers but I am drawn to the toile the most. Yes to the ghosts of the house-just not too spooky!
Yes on the haunted house. You may be able to spray the cleaner in a container then brush it on to lighten the beams. Oven cleaner strips paint. Be careful. The microwave change. is so much better. Makes sense.
I have a Hamilton Beach food processor. It's not a "high-end" brand, but it chops through everything I put in it without problem. I've had it 8-10 years.
Totally agree about the relocation of the microwave; the cookbooks will be such a nice visual! Things are really starting to pull together; you must be so excited. 🥀🥀
Love your videos so much and am loving every moment of the remodel, but my greatest thrill in this video was seeing that beautiful restaurant! Around here there are no places that have anything that wonderful!!! Everything around my neck of the woods is so modern, industrial or just cold, plain ugly. I so wish I lived in New England, I'd eat out every night!
Hi Linda, I had a nightmare lighting beams once in the end I used costic soda, you would have to cover yourself up, but I painted it on left it a few hours and scrubbed it of it came out perfect ♥️
Linda I used the cold, sifted wood ash from my open fire to bleach and wash wood this week. I used cut pantyhose over a kitchen sponge and used dishwashing liquid to make it a workable paste. Cleans pot bottoms too!
Hi! my beams are full of hand hewn grooves. I wonder if the paste would get caught in all of the seams and creases. Did you use it on beams or furniture? I've used it on furniture to get water marks out, but not to lighted wood. Would love to hear more.
Try with a nail scrubbing brush or toothbrush for control. Tried it on furniture. Instead of oven cleaner try shaving cream. Use it for cleaning ovens.
I just found a stainless, Dash air fryer for only $40. It won't fit in the space under the upper cabinets on my counter. So, it has to go to the cabin where the wall cabinets are hung almost a foot above standard height. I'll love having it when there's a house full of company.
Yes, Please! My Sister and her husband owned a clapboard house, in Connecticut, built by a Sea Captain in the mid 1800's. It was definitely haunted!! When their little girl of 3, started seeing a tall man with a long black hat standing at the foot of her bed, they sold it immediately! Right in the middle of renovation. They have only built or bought new ever since. ❤ from GA
Maybe try spraying the product you want to use to lighten the beams into a mason jar and then brush it on. Less mess and no overspray on cabinets/walls.
I love the first toile paper! I agree the pricier appliances are just not worth it. I’ve learned to buy cheap Black & Decker blenders. My chopper is about 25 years old. Watched a UA-cam video review of refrigerators last week that stated that most all are only made to last about 4 years now!
I’ve had my Nana’s food processor for twenty years. I use it once a year. My Kitchen Aid Mixer isn’t that old and it already leaks oil. I’d love to have a Butler’s Pantry.
i absolutely love your home. The design project will look fabulous. And my favorite part is you still use wallpaper. Some folks have gotten away from it, and i think it is a mistake to not use it. My favorite ones are the bee wallpaper and the beautiful toile. I hope it isn't discontinued. Love watching this project transform!
I vote Yes on the haunted house! 😀 I love seeing all the progress!
I’m enjoying your renovation so much! Thank you for making each video so intriguing. I can’t wait till the next one. I vote yes on the haunted house story! 😊
Me too
Seeing your Black and Decker chopper made me smile. I’ve had mine for at least 30 years and it still works like a charm. And yes to haunted stories.
I’ve had that same little chopper for 33 years lol!
Same here, my mother in law gave me a black and decker handy chopper over 30 years ago and it still works great!
Enjoying the updates. The Butlers Pantry is looking so good. Yes to the haunted house and can't wait to hear about the genealogy. Jeanette, New Zealand.

I hope so!
It makes such a difference working with the contractors along the way and taking care of the issues ahead of time.
I too am loving your vids Linda, I love watching you 'problem solve' AND I think it must be said: your contractors are heroes!!
Me too. It has given me more confidence to do my own DIY.
You are right!

Wonderful!
If the ceiling is high enough, a good idea for the deep space over the fridge is a cupboard with slots to store & slide trays.
Unfortunately the space is shallow. we had to cut the cabinet and put a back on it to fit the odd shaped opening.
Great progress! A good solution for the microwave! I love a good ghost story

Hi Linda, I had a nightmare lighting beams once in the end I used costic soda, you would have to cover yourself up, but I painted it on left it a few hours and scrubbed it of it came out perfect ♥️
Yes yes yes to hearing about haunted Groton house! Love seeing the progress in your kitchen.
This is so exciting! You must be over the moon. Yes for the haunted house story, the S for your logo is a great idea!
All looks so nice!!
I love knowing if spirits were in your former home. I know there is a spirit of a young girl in my 1880 home
❤ from GA
I have Hamilton Beach mixer and food processor...they may quit tomorrow but these are still going strong and never let me down.
Maybe try spraying the product you want to use to lighten the beams into a mason jar and then brush it on. Less mess and no overspray on cabinets/walls.
Your coming along! Looking forward to see the kitchen finished! Detail is so important when you redo a kitchen! 😊
So true!
Cuisinart Elemental 13-Cup Food Processor is the best that I've had. I've had it for over 5 years and never have had any issues.
i absolutely love your home. The design project will look fabulous. And my favorite part is you still use wallpaper. Some folks have gotten away from it, and i think it is a mistake to not use it. My favorite ones are the bee wallpaper and the beautiful toile. I hope it isn't discontinued. Love watching this project transform!
Found the toile and it is being shipped to our home! I'm hoping the color dye lot matches my sample
Loving the renovation!
Heck yes to your haunted house! 👻
