Glad to see you're branching out, honestly, this is something I expected because the UA-cam sphere really evolved in the span of 2 years and I knew you had to adapt, glad to see it and you have my support my guy.

Dude, I'm proud of you and everything you've accomplished this year! On a more personal note, thank you for introducing the first episodes of The Witcher and Arcane to me this year! I hope your 2022 is nothing short of amazing, that work never gets too overwhelming, and that you can find time to smile about something at least once each day. My biggest problem with *most* swearing, is that the swears are used in the wrong context. For example, someone on the toilet will say p**** and someone at the urinals will say s***. I can forgive a little crassness, but at least be correctly crass!
Needless to say, the f word is by far the most misused and overused, so I highly respect any efforts to cut that out of your speech. Breaking habits like that is difficult.
Oh it has nothing to do with habits and everything to do with metrics. Linguistics evolve (see: “history of swear words” with Nicholas Cage) and I personally love how versatile Fuck’s become for example, or how Shit can mean awful, stuff/possessions (my shit), describing general actions (doin’ my own shit), or even greatness (THE shit). My beefs are more with “Oof”, “Cringe”, “Ree” and “Kys/drinkbleach/etc” when it comes to vernacular but that’s beside the point as they’re more about homogenising intent and ignoring context (e.g. bad performance vs intention hamming), more than specifics”
Problem is that despite having an entire dedicated kids mode, YT is obsessed with keeping the fragile kiddywinks away from the nono words and forcing that on the rest of us via the algorithm, so measurably channels that swear are recommended less. Even if they replace the content with material that is implied more adult or screwed up. I’ll stay talking like I talk on Twitch but if I wanna get anywhere on here I get the feeling I have to adapt.
Realistically the duty should be on YT to either pronounce the divide to YTKids, so 13+ creators are safe and can be recommended more regularly, or create further more nuanced divides like a 15+ system that DOESN’T disallow monetisation, (since the 18+ restriction turns off all monetisation as the situ stands). But, well, they’ve had millions telling them it’s broke, same as content id but they never listen so easier to adapt than fight and 100%-lose.

Ed, you're absolutely one of the best content creators on the platform. I wouldn't call you a Let's Player because I feel like it would be too much of a narrow area to put you in, but the last time I enjoyed watching the kind of content you put out to this level was when I was a teenager watching early Markiplier/Pewdiepie videos. Your voice was basically made for voice acting-slash-singing, and it was amazing to see the leaps and bounds you've crossed since the days of your Undertale videos (yes we saw that, don't try to hide from it you English boyo).
So don't worry about putting out "only" X number of videos throughout the year. Ask anyone else on UA-cam and they will share with you their own horror stories about how hard it can be to put out videos with heavy editing, especially ones with your levels of quality. I'm sure you have already, considering you already do your fair share of cooperative work with other content creators. I think I speak for everyone that we're all just waiting for that one perfect combination of luck and trending that will push you into the spotlight and let more viewers see your content and subscribe to you in droves.
In a way I don't want that to happen because you've been very attentive and responsible to your audience, which would simply be impossible if you got too big and no longer could tend to every single comment section, but it really is what you deserve.

Is there a solid point where the metanarrative began? Because I loved it in MBR, but I am unsure, if it began there, or if there is other birthing point of it. And while I am in progress, I still haven't seen all of your vids... sadly...
Metanarrative began in MBR but refers loosely to OverEnglishMan and thus the old channel days. So I speak more of meta to come than meta which already exists :). No worries there

This probably really a late time for this, but I'd like to talk for a moment about my first experience from you...
...Of course, UNDERTALE.
When I first watched you play through it, I wasn't able to fully appreciate it.
I guess I was dumb like that.
At the time, I juat thought it was a let's play with an enjoyable extra touch.
Now, though...
When I watched through it again, I wasn't in the best place.
Someone close to me recently and suddenly started accusing me and the rest of my family of horrible things, and it hurt.
Now she's switching from treating us like dirt, yelling, texting and writing about how awful we are, saying that my father is "vorbally" and sexually abusing me and my sister and how she's leaving us because it's "good for her," and keeps saying that we "want her to kill herself."
I wish I could help her. But she won't listen to me. Or any of us, really.
And every time I do anything that she interprets as "against her," she throws a temper tantrum and acts like a child. She throws things, she bangs on the doers and windows, she goes to _everyone_ and just complains and complains about us, even to _random ass strangers,_ she's gotten _completely_ unrelated friends and family involved, (who've, thankfully, so far've been supportive of us,) and she recently just vandalized the documentation I need to get back into school, _preventing me from doing so..._
...A-And when it all started, I started to see how she wasn't... The person I looked up to...
...Not... Anymore...
...At the same time, I've mentally grown.
In the past, I would take things at surface value.
Both good and bad.
It's why my emotional stability is in tatters right now.
Now, I enjoy combing through videos, looking for little details, appreciating the little touches, looking for vocal inflections, and most of all, I try my best to be empathetic.
I try my best to be there for the people in my life, and any others I find hurting, even digitally.
...W-Well, _try,_ I'm not always spot on.
And when I rewatched your playthrough...
...I started to notice all the little things.
Small touches, really. The way you had the characters sometimes react when you said or did something in real life, the lovely vocal editing on specific characters, a few times where forshadowing was much more prevelant because of the voices and editing...
...But most of all, I loved how _invested_ you were in the story, or at the very least, acted.
You sounded genuinely upset that you accidently killed Toriel, your laugh from sans' jokes never felt forced, you were emotionally invested in making PAPYRUS happy, adoring his ambition, his naivety, and his antics.
And DON'T even get me started on Mettaton and any time the game got genuinely freaky, because that would take ALL FUCKIN' DAY.
And through the voice acting, you made yourself seem _there._ in the _moment._ Back and forth banter that felt _real,_ in a way.
And it felt wonderful.
To see someone so enraptured in this world.
It felt wonderful.

I’m really sorry to hear about those sour times. Truly. I don’t talk about it often but I’ve got some (formerly) close people of my life who’ve falsely accused, twisted and tormented (thankfully all centred on me, not my fam). So I relate and I hope the sun comes out sooner rather than later for you and yours.
Partly because of that, it’s a lot harder to “connect” and immerse in things these days for my side. It’s really touching that a past-me has stood as a reference point for being engaged with things for you. Again, I relate as I’ve got a collection of 8-bit drummer videos for that same sensation.
I hope things improve doc, and if you get the hang of “reconnecting” with experiences before me, drop a brother a hint on how. Ya hear? Haha. Been a long while now, kind of sick of the partial numbness.
I cross my fingers for you that somehow it gets better in time.

It doesn't have to be voice acted, it doesn't have to be edited, if either of those trouble you. The touches you add when you do are _wonderful,_ but you don' t have to.
I just want to see you get _truely_ invested in a story like that again.
...And I know, in the past, you've turned down the offer, and this will probably seem like me just pestering you, and if it does, I'm sorry, but hear me out for a minute.
I'd like to see you try deltarune.
Maybe when the full thing comes out, or maybe just what's out already.
But I'd like to see you experience the story Toby _wanted_ to make before UNDERTALE.
Because, to me, deltarune has already _surpassed_ UNDERTALE in many reguards.
And I want to see how you take it.
How you unravel it's mysteries for yourself.
To see you get enraptured in a story like that again...
Hell, you might have already.
