@@iielysiumx5811 thats an idea. usually completely silent due to new switches, and then on non silent mode a little click speaker that gets enabled to click...
@Jarod'sTech Totally agree with you on that. That said it's still a great mouse and I love being able to use it with my laptop via bluetooth and then switch to my HTPC using a nano Unified receiver which also looks after the keyboard.
I actually got used to that, still use the original at home and i still love it. Got the MX Master 3 at work and while it is indeed better, i have found myself hitting the horizontal scroll wheel a few times on accident.
lolllll ya you can tell they're all copying from one another or are sharing the same notes. You can tell the type of "profession" they are aiming their "review" is for.
It’s the endless cycle of getting a product that makes a video about the product with the use case being making the video for the product with the product
Vikram Soni do you know if you can use this mouse without the shitty reciver. I still have an original MX 1000 but would love something very similar without the shitty receiver
I've ran with the MX Master 1, then the 2S and I don't care about any of the "new features" but I just hope they improved the main shell plastic. Both mice have basically melted under my hand.
Damn really? I've been using the MX master 1 pretty well since launch every day and apart from getting a bit of dirt on it that I need to clean off, the plastic is totally fine.
I've seen a pic of an old logitech mouse that was so warn that there was literary no palm low friction pad left. That thing must have moved thousands of kilometres over the desk and it still worked. Funny part is that there are still replacement pads for these mice so you could use it even longer
Are you serious ? Guess Im just unlucky, I had my G603 replacement 3 fcking times until it's warranty expired and now after 4 months it's already showing it's usual defect. Double clicking on all buttons
I have both MX Master 1 and G602. I used MX at work and I've been using G602 instead. Those 11 buttons, light weight and additional mouse gestures are hard to beat. I just wish it had the MX scroll wheel or at least the one from the Marathon mouse.
Nice timing, I was considering the MX 2S for my work laptop but the thing that kept me away of it were the side buttons, I use them a lot in my G502 and the fact that they're better positioned for this one looks pretty great for me.
Angel Güereña agreed. I used the original MX Master and the 2s since they've both come out respectively, and the forward/back buttons were always definitely uncomfortably placed, particularly if you have larger hands, and cause some weird tension in the thumb due to the claw-like thumbing you end up having to do.
Great video. The 2S is retailing in my country for 270 vs. the 3 for 400. Ignore the currency. Your video does a good job highlighting the differences between the two mice I've been using a basic Logitech mouse and due for an upgrade. Sadly it is a difficult choice. I don't play FPS games and most of my computing time is for work. If only the 3 was not released, I wouldn't have to contemplate between the two
I had to look that up because I didn't understand. NOw I am confused: why make such an obvious retarded design choice like that? Did they ever answer this question?
@@shmookins Well, there isn't really a better place on the mouse. It doesn't fit on the front nor the back and if they put it on the side people would try to use it and then be in an even more awkward position. It's not ideal, but I get why they did it.
I actually prefer the heavier mice - I have a Razer Deathadder 2013, but I switched to this, and even with the weight, I really find myself performing better with that extra weight. Did not expect that at all. Plus working in Adobe CC and on multiple systems (Mac to PC and back) it's incredible.
(Notices that Eber has slimmed down a lot.) Lyle Geese: That's not Eber... Eber has been replaced by the HC-1000 Ebernator!! !!! Listen and understand. That Ebernator is out there. It can't be reasoned with. It can't be bargained with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead.
No way, he looks waaayyy too scrawny thin, but to be honest if he's happy the way he is then that's all that really should and does matter in the end anyway
I think he forgot to release the lock on 2s...so its on rachet mode. (It will become fast if you apply enough force in rachet mode) I have a Orginal MX master, its nearly the same as 3 in case of wheel sound level.
I'm still using the OG MX Master. It still works just as good as the day I bought it, 3 years ago. Battery life hasn't even fallen off. The MX line is worth every penny!
5:46 That's because when you buy this mouse (or the MX Anywhere, Anywhere 2S, MX Master 2S, or any mouse with free scrolling) the best thing you can do is go to Windows mouse settings and make the scrollwheel go ONE LINE at a time. Can't use a regular scrollwheel after that.
Nice video! I have MX 2, it's a good mouse, but the position of lateral buttons is horrible, the new position is good but they sould add an extra button between the two... The best mouse of logitech is the old MX 1000 in my opinion, heavy duty battery and great buttons placement!
Omg the scroll being silent is AMAZING! As someone working with huge spreadsheets every day, I am an aggressive scroller and it's sooo nice to finally have something that doesn't sound obnoxious
I am still rocking my MX Performance. It is the best mouse I have ever used and is still working great so I didn't have the need to upgrade to MX Master series. I had 2 problems with my microswitches, but I replaced them myself :)
Hmm in mine the middle mouse click failed shortly after I got it, and the metal looking trims coloring wore off after like 2 or 3 years. Other than that it works well indeed, but I'll switch to the MX3 now, as I really want to use and get used to middle mouse guestures, they're pretty efficient for navigation at times (especially in the browser/other tab based applications with open links in new tab and close tab being on the middle mouse button).
@@9SMTM6 did you return it for service? I believe it has 3 years warranty. Yeah, coloring faded a bit on mine too. I fixed my left click again 2 days ago :D
@@vinko9. yeah I'm pretty bad when it comes to claiming warranty repairs. The middle wheel did (and still does sometimes) work somewhat for a while, I didn't want to miss the mouse, and didn't really use the middle mouse button that much back then. And then I was out of warranty😅. Well, in the end I guess I'll be alright, I both can well afford a new mouse, even as pricey as this one, and believe I will profit well from the features of the MX3, expecially the horizontal scroll wheel and the Bluetooth functionality, and my Performance MX will become a backup and used for situations I wouldn't want to expose the MX3 too.
@@9SMTM6 well, that's ok. I will still cling on my MX performance and I also won't have a problem financing new mouse such as MX Master 3. But my MX Performance works, and if it starts doing weird stuff like double-clicking etc, I can fix it by myself
Thanks very much for this review. A few weeks ago I bought a second MX Master (just the regular, older model) - the first one I have is still working although I had to do some surgery to repair it a while back. I love these mice, and would not have been able to predict how much easier they have made navigating various pieces of software for me, but the real attraction is that the MX Master almost completely got rid of the Repetitive Strain Injury in my right hand that I had been suffering for many years. Of course, too much use will cause pain - with me, that usually means a small blister on my thumb, caused by the left-right scroll wheel, but that seldom happens.
I have had a Master 2s for 2 years. I love it. I especially love the free spin and the assignable buttons are great for video editing. I never use the ratchet mode, although if I had a Master 3 I might use it.
Don't buy a MX3. I made the mistake to buy the MX Master 3, and after a few weeks of using it (allready out of the return period, so I remaind with it unfortunatelly), I realize that it was a mistake. Not only the price is huge (109 euro for it, versus MX Master 2S = 73 euro), but the main issue wit it (besides that it DOES NOT have ANY other or better features than MX Master 2S) is simple puted WORKING with it. It's narrower shape does NOT fit in my palm as MX Master 2S (wider) does. Furthermore, the BS "easy scroll wheel" feature which is used by Logitech as a reason for the 36 more euro (40 dollars), is pure BS. MX Master 2S has also 2 modes (as MX3) of the scrol wheel, and in the free scrolling mode, you don't hear ratteling either, except in the beginning (while MX3 is 100% silent), but that doesn't bother me, nor do I think is worth 40 dollars, beside the fact that working (years! Until it breakes) with a mouth which damadges (by intense/prolongued use) your hand (RSI problem) because it just DOES NOT FIT in your palm, is certainly a definite reason why men should buy the MX-2S in sted of MX3. The fact is that you don't see the difference in shape (and how important for you as IT worker is that!) unless you worked with it 2 or more weeks. In the shop, after feeling both models, you incline to believe that MX3 feels better. That changes in a few weeks at home, and you wil be SORRY. PS: The back and foreward buttons on MX-2S were place right there, but meant to be used with the side of your (mid position of it) thumb, NOT with the top of the finger as usual buttons are. That's why some think that the back and foreward buttons are "too far back", and they have to bend their thumb too far back.
If any of you currently have a gaming mouse and are thinking of switching to this. DON'T DO IT. The "darkfield" sensor is VERY inconsistent for precise fine movements. Even a cheap gaming mouse is going to be a lot more accurate then this. Believe me I tried the MX master 2 because I wanted something more "adult" had to take it back because it didn't track well at all. And this mouse has the same sensor.
@@shadostorm8375 No problem! I really wanted to switch to this mouse. I loved some of the features. But this sensor is specifically built to be able to track on all kinds of surfaces, but as a result the sensor loses accuracy. I noticed it really bad when trying to do fine movements. I could never get the mouse to produce consistent results when trying to make movements that were around 1/4" or smaller (On a 1080p monitor).
The original Mx Master was one of the best purchases I've made. The auto scroll-wheel free-wheel mechanism is great when scrolling through code. My only complaint would be the weight, and the stupid forward/back button placement, which they finally appear to have fixed this time.
Bought the MX 1, MX2 and 2S, loved the design and functionality, could not stand how loud the scroll wheel was. Returned them all within a week... Finally they woke up and did something about that tractor sounding mouse wheel.
I'm still using my old OG MX Master. Works very well to this day. I love the new features of the 3, especially the larger thumb wheel, USB-C, and the software experience. But I still really like the looks of the 1 and 2. The pointy nose really looks much better than this. Bloody hell it looks like they took design inspiration from my right foot.
@@santoshkumari8662 I no longer use it now, mostly due to alterations in occupation. But back when I stopped using it circa mid-2020, I could expect about 3-4 weeks of battery life.
5:48 I can, as a programmer you would need to scroll through hundreds of lines to find that one bug or to review something you wrote earlier, I would also imagine that as a writer or a lawyer you would also need to scroll a lot through your documents to go back to a certain page where you need to review something. it definitely improved my workflow a lot as a CS student.
This was a to-the-point comparison. I have made my decision to go for MX2s as it is available at a better price in India than MX3 and has all the required feature. A big thumbs up and thank you.
Thank you Eber for another great review. I have always loved the hyper fast scrolling in the logitech mice. I love some of the features of this mouse but I think I will stick with my favorite mouse, the Logitech G502
Best MX 3 Review! - and I've read dozens. Great visual compliment to your voice-over. I subscribed to your channel today, and I'm buying a MX 3 tomorrow. Thanks!
I literally just bought the MX Master 2 a couple of weeks ago for work (software developer). It came with all the out-of-the-box gestures for Mac. I love it. The only thing I don't care so much for are where the Forward and Backward buttons are located on the MX2. I don't see much of a reason to swap it out and upgrade though.
Great review! Just ordered one for myself. Main advantage for me is: - Switch between multiple devices by the press of a button (I can't use their software on my work laptop, but that's the next best thing) - High functionality with buttons and the scroll wheel I intend to use it mostly for productivity and a little bit for casual gaming
Eber, you've mastered the art of speaking to the lens. It's as if you're having a face-to-face discussion with an old friend. Very at ease. Just wanted to share a quick compliment. 👍🙂 Meanwhile, I'm now discussed with my very basic 2-button mouse. 😕 Keep up the good work!
We need something like g700! 4 thump buttons is the way to go. 2 for forward and back and another two to go left or right in browser tabs. Great for productivity!
@@VforValenti I ordered new switches on amazon for like $7, and I got replacement slider things for the bottom, I took it apart and then just split the switch and put new internals into it, I saw a video you can just bend it out but I decided replacing it would last longer, and now I have 9 more switches for the future
Finally, someone reviews this mouse as it should be reviewed .... Everyone else is ignoring that the MX2 had the same abilities, bit MX3 is more refined .. THANK YOU :D .. Now, What is the keyboard he is using ?? looks good...
"why would someone need a crazy high-tech scroll wheel." I personally switch between both modes very frequently as I work. It would seem that not having to manually switch between modes would have some benefit for productivity as it saves you the extra click needed to switch between modes. For people who do not know this mouse, having both modes can give you a HUGE increase in productivity. The ability to flick the wheel and have it spin lets you fly down the page of long documents/code or zoom in/out of an image/model VERY fast and then stop exactly where you want to be. The smooth scroll also gives you the ability to have fine-grained control over where you zoom or scroll to, instead of being locked into specific increments (like a certain number of lines or distance) on each "ratchet" scroll. The "ratchet" mode lets you scroll through context menu's or precisely a few lines at a time on a document (like any other mouse would). At the end of the day, as an mx fan all the way back to the original I find this all to be very exciting. Thank you for reviewing and bringing this new version to light ;-)
why can't they give it a sensor that's good for gaming? Is there any technical reason other than "just so that no product is perfect, so they will keep buying future products"??
I bought one a month ago and love it. I love being able to move between my laptop, desk top and phone with one mouse. Love being able to copy on one device and paste in another. I also use a logitech wave keyboard but it is not a MX keyboard, I will buy the MX wave keyboard just as soon as Logitech comes out with it.
Bought this for a housewarming gift for my buddy who's been working from home on some shit travel mouse for a year. Instantly thought of your channel when I wanted a good review. Was not disappointed, neither will my buddy be. Thought it was pretty fucked up I was using a better mouse for gaming than he was using to make money. Much appreciated.
Just received mine direct from Logitech in Mid grey. I work with AutoCad and this has been a massive improvement over the G203 Prodigy mouse I was using before. Also I was able to get it for $89 using a 10% promo code that popped up through Honey. The stock levels are kind of low on these so it took a couple weeks to ship but it was worth it imo. It came fully charged out of the box ready to go as soon as I turned it on. The scroll wheel is great. Its virtually silent and even the clicks are quite quiet. I still feel like the back/forward buttons could be moved slightly further forward on the mouse. That way you could rock them back and forth without having to move your thumb but that's really nit picking to be honest. I used to experience some wrist and finger strain from long days of working in CAD. Using the MX Master 3 that strain is gone. Really a great mouse and worth the price if you ask me.
I really love my Master 2s! It's great to see this upgrade even though I don't see myself getting one any time soon. The forward and back button changes are definitely the best part of it and that was always my only gripe about my 2s.
Wow, first video I've watched of yours. Subscribed for more content. I really appreciated both the visual FX, (like ghosting your hand over the mouse) and your delivery. Thanks!!
I absolutely love my Mx Master 2S. I am no content creater nor graphic designer. Simply non of that. I am a noob who enjoys playing video games like BF 4, some RTS games and WoW. So, whoever is thinking something like "hey, that mouse is too big, too heavy" I must say that it's super comfy. :D And I was sceptical about the battery life, but as you said I also maybe charge charge it once every 2-3 months and I use the mouse daily for at least 5 hours, sometimes 15... :D Money well spent.
My 5 years old mx master 1 finally gave up today. I just bought both the keyboard and the mouse mx master 3. Watching this video while working out so that when I get to the office I can set everything up easily.
Jiří Horský my g703 mouse scroll wheel stopped working , they replaced it with a 150$ g903 and shipped it with two day shipping , Logitech are the real g’s🙌
@@LuisC7 Mostly just isolated cases, there are millions of Logitech products out there still being used. As for me I have 15 Logitech products in my household and only two has failed yet (A Proteus Core while working properly fine...the rubber grips just melted as time went on) Even my G930 from 2011 has been repaired by Logitech Philippines 2 times for free since 2016 and it's still being used to this day perfectly. my 2017 Logi G102 has been beaten over and over in R6 Siege (500 hours in) and it still worked perfectly that I bought the wireless version recently. Note that its past its warranty and is a $25 product :/ my cheapest mouse but fits well in my hand
@Hardware Canucks At 5:43, you mention why someone would need an alternating scroll wheel. Think of someone browsing on Amazon using the smooth glide scroll and then using the tactile scroll for gaming so that when pressing the scroll wheel in (for macros, pings), it doesn't conflict with camera height!
I use a 2S daily at work, and finally got around to checking out the 3 at Best Buy the other day. The biggest difference between the two has to be the quality of the scroll wheel. I use the scroll wheel heavily for CAD everyday and I've never really had any complaints about it on the 2S, but with the 3 it's just on another level. Firstly it's slightly lighter to press, which does make a difference if you use middle click all the time, and the all-metal construction of the wheel gives it a nice bit of weight and a very premium feel even compared to the 2S. The scroll action is quieter, but more notably the transition between ratchet and free spin is smoother and feels more natural. The overall shape of the 3 is very similar to the 2S, Logitech didn't reinvent the wheel here. However, the 3 feels slightly taller or perhaps has more of a tilted top like the MX Vertical, so I suppose it technically is easier on the wrist. It does feel very similar to hold compared to the 2S, so if you loved/hated the 2S, the new one isn't going to change your mind. The rearranged forward/back buttons and side-scroll wheel on the 3 should be a nice improvement for most people. The buttons are now in a very natural position, but I would say that it has slightly sacrificed the ergonomics of the side-scroll wheel since that has now been moved up and further away from the thumb rest. But if you rarely use the side-scroll I doubt it would bother you. I would consider upgrading to the 3 just for the improved scroll wheel because it is something I use quite a lot as a professional. If I hadn't already bought the 2S and was contemplating between the two, I would definitely go with the 3 even if there's a $30-40 price difference. But despite how nice the 3 is, I haven't really gotten my money's worth from the 2S just yet, so I think I'll stick to what I've got for now and maybe give the 3 another look when it's on sale.
I bought Mx Anywhere 2s, and got shocked that scroll wheel can't work as middle mouse button and now this mouse is useless for me. Can you confirm me that MX Master 3 has middle mouse button in scroll wheel? I am a heavy CAD and 3ds max user and I can't live my life without middle mouse button on scroll wheel.
I've been using an MX Master since 2015 and just recently noticed that the scroll wheel would no longer ratchet and the battery needed recharging much more frequently. I was about to order a 2S when I saw your video and am SO glad I did. My MX Master 3 should arrive tomorrow. Thanks!
@@YKDSGN Could they be placed somewhere else? Hell yea. Was it a total fail? Hell no. I mean, you get used to it and then it's like any other forw/back button.
@@Cilghal001 I mean they are too tiny and ergonomics is just off (especially for longer fingers). Can't imagine not having any health issues after daily 8 hours usage in the long run. Just feels like form won over function with that one.
Eber forgot the thumb click. There is a thumb switch in the thumb pad that has functionality too. In the master 2s the default function is the program switcher.
@@ClarkWells Unfortunately they get reported for many wheel issues. $150 for a mouse with garbage basic croll wheel is just plain stupid. Give me this ergonomics and construction within 100-110g and I'll give you my money.

Really? Mine lost the logo on the palmrest almost immediately and the text underneath is pretty much gone. Apart from that and some expected wear on the rubber it's still looking pretty descent tho.
No it's not way louder. Not sure why every youtube is messing this up. MX Master has 2 scroll settings. Ratchet and smooth. Smooth is comparable to the 3.
@@Kudagraz except its not. The Master 3 is like way smoother in booth settings. The difference is not as drastic in the free spin but still kinda massive as far as i concern. I have both and first just bought it for the usbc and new bottoms but after using the scroll wheel is a massive bonus
I'm a dev and I just returned mine. Has very unpredictable control when you scroll up and down quickly, and not like doing the flywheel spin but actual normal every day controlled scrolls just didn't always register correctly.. very frustrating after a while. Also Google it, it's a thing
The scrolling got a lot of issue... It randomly miss some scrolling motion... Also, the bluetooth mode has a slightly higher latency compared to the USB receiver mode.
I use the MX 2S with MX Keys at home and am stuck with a basic Dell setup at work where I'm a DBA and spend a lot of time scrolling through SQL scripts and endless rows of data. I tried my MX 2S on my work computer Monday and was blown away by how much more productive I was. I was thinking about picking up the MX 3 for home and bringing my MX 2S in for work.
For some reason I find your voice calming. Like I'm listening to an audiobook. Nice review by the way. Been thinking to upgrade from 2s to mx master 3. Thanks!
The issue I've heard a lot about is that the scrolling can be inaccurate and not register your scrolling at irregular points (possibly linked to the whole magnet based build of the scroll). No youtube reviews I've seen seem to address it, so I'm not even sure if it is that big an issue or nitpicking.
I've had the original MX Master for years. It's still going strong. It was an amazing change. I've been scrolling like a maniac ever since I got it. Pages with partial load while scrolling.go crazy.
Happy they changed the thumb rest button, it was a serious design issue before. Once it got mushy, you often wouldn't be able to move your cursor anymore. If this happened to you, try to push this button upwards, sometimes this helps.
@@mickyr171 OMG, I always thought the thing with the charging plug was just my incompetence haha But for me it is such a minor inconvenience since the battery lasts forever anyway 🤷♂️
MX Master 2 owner. The freewheel is useful to scroll through long and cluttered legacy code 😅. But I love that mouse, it's really great for Web development and graphic design.
I wouldn't really recommend this for graphic design. Fine movements with this mouse are inconsistent. I tried the MX master 2 and had to take it back because the tracking was so bad. Had to go back to a gaming mouse.
@@JohnnyElihue well a gaming mouse with a sniper button can make things really accurate. But honestly I never had issues with it. Maybe the only notable thing was that in Bluetooth mode latency is horrible.
i do love my mx master 2s (teal). it's a great floating mouse for use with my second pc and laptop. my main rig uses the g502 proteus spectrum. figures they'd come out with the mx master 3 a year after i bought the 2s. screw it. i like my 2s. technology is a moving target. if you are afraid to buy because it'll soon be superseded, you'll be that guy who has been saying "i'm not gonna buy one because it'll be obsolete by the time i get home". he's the guy who STILL doesn't have one 30 years later.
Well, using a gaming mouse is something different from actually gaming. I like using gaming input peripherals too for work, because they just work better. No rubber dome keyboard can come close to a feel and 'cripness' of writing on a mechanical keyboard with blues - or in case of my workspace, browns; random shittty cheap mice feel super unprecise compared to a good gaming mouse. On my pc at home where I also game, I use a gaming mouse. On all other pcs, laptops etc, I use MX Master mice, because they feel great too. Difference being that the MX Master feels kinda 'off' for gaming, or at least my 2S does.
Not a contradiction. He admits to being a casual gamer. Also it really only matters if you're playing FPS games or something where you'll notice the jittery movements like on a 144hz monitor, because the polling rate on the MX master 3 is lower. It's still a crazy good productivity mouse, and I have one in addition to my gaming mouse. It's definitely a good get when on sale.
Got mine today.... what a great upgrade it is from the MX Master 2s :-D Feels so much natural in my hand, and the button layout is way better when editing :-) Cheers
my 2S scroll wheel is kept in free mode and I'm spoiled for it to the point I don't think I can ever be happy with a mouse without it. Nonetheless the magnetic switching of modes seems interesting, as the switching noise on the 2S was what put me off in the first place
the free spin is very helpful in macos. I currently have it where the free spin mode activates when you scroll fast but switches back to ratchet mode when it slows down.
Shame that alot of users get laggy response times, it will constantly go into some sort of moronic power saving mode if not touched for like 1 second, thus meaning when it wakes it up jumps around like a grasshopper! Might want to go read the MX master 3 forum/support tickets before you buy this mouse people! (im literally using a logi G700s next to the damn mx master 3 due to the fact it doesn't have the same issues!) Oh and the MX master 3 has an INBUILT battery, so when it finally loses its ability to charge *like all rechargeable batteries do* you basically can never use it wireless ever again! EDIT. I tried watching the software when this mouse is in our, the connected light and charge lights go off! its not even laggy its disconnecting! This mouse is a complete joke! Dont listen to some one thats probably paid to "review it".
great review man 😊 Feedback for Logitech: add a second left click and call the "Master Shift" and also add 12 buttons under the horizontal scroll wheel and ad tilt buttons to the vertical wheel EDIT: and a pixart 3360 sensor and I'm willing to pay 250$ for it.
We need this in a silent click version, I work in an area with lots of mice! And the clicking is like a swarm of crickets.
yeah the click on the 2s is very loud. you can hear it in a 30m long office. i put the left click on the back button so its silent :)
@Taras Buria you can put the left click on the back or forward button or the hidden thumb button
@moo of course it is not on the 2s on the 3 its actually nice because the button is where your thumb already rests :). But better than a loud click.

Mans actually watched the sponsor!

Thanks for sharing the experience. I was thinking abt getting it over a gaming mouse :D

Now, What is the keyboard he is using ?? looks good...
"why would someone need a crazy high-tech scroll wheel."
I personally switch between both modes very frequently as I work.

So funny when you started taking about gaming with this mouse hahaha. Great video as usual

Nice comments. I wish other people gave such constructive criticism ... .
I bought Mx Anywhere 2s, and got shocked that scroll wheel can't work as middle mouse button and now this mouse is useless for me. Not only the price is huge (109 euro for it, versus MX Master 2S = 73 euro), but the main issue with it (besides that it DOES NOT have ANY other or better features than MX Master 2S) is simple puted: WORKING with it. It's narrower shape does NOT fit in my palm as MX Master 2S (wider) does. Furthermore, the BS "easy scroll wheel" feature which is used by Logitech as a reason for the 36 more euro (40 dollars), is pure BS. MX Master 2S has also 2 modes (as MX3) of the scrol wheel, and in the free scrolling mode, you don't hear ratteling either, except in the beginning (while MX3 is 100% silent), but that deosn't bother me, nor do I think is worth 40 dollars, beside the fact that working (years!
Loraine680 WoW! That’s a lot of info there. Did you use the mice in Windows, Linux, Mac OS, or...???
@@WarriorsPhoto
No. Only Windows and Mac.
@@WarriorsPhoto
Be carefull that Logitch cheat you blind also by the color of the mouse. On the box you see a total different color (I have the so called "mid grey") than the actual mouse in the box.
On the box you see 2 beatiful metallic grey shades. In fact the mousr is licht grey, a lich colour alover. No "mid gray"😉, no 2 shades. Very ugly in reality.
That goes for other Logitech mouses, like the blue one, a beatiful dark turqoise color on the box, while the mouse is darkgrey blue. A dead blue color. Mega ugly. The shops also advertise that fake nonexisting color, on both mouses described above, pictutes gotton from Logitech.
@@Loraine680 Hey, thank you for the info. Much appreciated that I'll be able to use it with either Windows or Mac OS'. Now, to test drive it and see what happens. (:
I still have the first edition of MX Performance. I use it for everything including gaming. Still going strong. Not even the paint came off. I still find it to be the most comfortable mouse I ever bought.
Really? Mine lost the logo on the palmrest almost immediately and the text underneath is pretty much gone.
Apart from that and some expected wear on the rubber it's still looking pretty descent tho.
WOW that Master 2S is way louder compared to the Master 3
Scrolling, Yes. Clicking, NO! :(
No it's not way louder.
@@letslachflash That is prob true but comparing the ratchet setting to the smooth scroll of the 3 is disingenuous.
@@Kudagraz yeah thats for sure
This review is amazing!!... UA-cam should push this review to the top 3 rank. Thanks!
"Why would someone need a hyperscroll wheel?" Programmers and scrolling through their text editors.
I'm a dev and I just returned mine. Has very unpredictable control when you scroll up and down quickly, and not like doing the flywheel spin but actual normal every day controlled scrolls just didn't always register correctly.. very frustrating after a while. Also Google it, it's a thing
@@scootndute579lol people say it’s good etc.. what do you use now?
@@scootndute579 should I go for 2s ?
The scrolling got a lot of issue... It randomly miss some scrolling motion...
Also, the bluetooth mode has a slightly higher latency compared to the USB receiver mode.
watching this video as i sit here with my $10 mouse and keyboard bundle from amazon
It probably costed more to store and ship.
I just wish it had silent mouse pressing instead of the loud clicks.
For some reason I find your voice calming. Like I'm listening to an audiobook. Nice review by the way. Been thinking to upgrade from 2s to mx master 3. Thanks!
7:40 Just *buy* it!
The issue I've heard a lot about is that the scrolling can be inaccurate and not register your scrolling at irregular points (possibly linked to the whole magnet based build of the scroll). No youtube reviews I've seen seem to address it, so I'm not even sure if it is that big an issue or nitpicking.
It is a huge issue. I can't believe it's not adressed. Feels like sponsorship or something. It's a major issue for real.
Hmmm... 65€ with corporate benefits....
I dont need it but i want it xD
no
60€ if you use the code 5€LOGI
I've had the original MX Master for years. It's still going strong. It was an amazing change. I've been scrolling like a maniac ever since I got it. Pages with partial load while scrolling.go crazy.

Almost wanted to start tapping my foot 🎵
Happy they changed the thumb rest button, it was a serious design issue before. Once it got mushy, you often wouldn't be able to move your cursor anymore. If this happened to you, try to push this button upwards, sometimes this helps.
3 looks unsexy AF.
I'm gonna keep my beloved 2S till the end of days
I agree lol, i like the side buttons but thats about it lol, the 2S is awesome as
The only thing i hate about the 2S is the charging plug, bit dicky to plug in so the USB-C may make it worth the transition
@@mickyr171 OMG, I always thought the thing with the charging plug was just my incompetence haha
But for me it is such a minor inconvenience since the battery lasts forever anyway 🤷♂️
@@HeTianHeng same here mate haha, looked it up and found alot of people hates the plug, bit buggy when plugging in
MX Master 2 owner.
I like how he said that you don't pay a premium for a mouse at 99 dollars but the 99 dollar keyboard is pricy , knowledge .
i do love my mx master 2s (teal). it's a great floating mouse for use with my second pc and laptop. my main rig uses the g502 proteus spectrum.
figures they'd come out with the mx master 3 a year after i bought the 2s. screw it. i like my 2s.
technology is a moving target. if you are afraid to buy because it'll soon be superseded, you'll be that guy who has been saying "i'm not gonna buy one because it'll be obsolete by the time i get home". he's the guy who STILL doesn't have one 30 years later.
“Highly recommend against using this for gaming” ...end of review; “By the way guys this has replaced my gaming mice” ? Contradiction bro..
I Feel so tired of titles "I'm switching"
Man, the quality of this video is WTF Pretty Good!
i just want a gaming mouse that doesn't wake up my whole house
DeZiio this is not a gaming mouse though
s h i l o. That’s why I want one foo 😩
my 2S scroll wheel is kept in free mode and I'm spoiled for it to the point I don't think I can ever be happy with a mouse without it. Nonetheless the magnetic switching of modes seems interesting, as the switching noise on the 2S was what put me off in the first place
Am I the only one that was perfectly happy with the previous back/forward buttons? Sad to see them move.
the free spin is very helpful in macos.
(im literally using a logi G700s next to the damn mx master 3 due to the fact it doesn't have the same issues!)
Oh and the MX master 3 has an INBUILT battery, so when it finally loses its ability to charge *like all rechargeable batteries do* you basically can never use it wireless ever again!
EDIT.
I tried watching the software when this mouse is in our, the connected light and charge lights go off! its not even laggy its disconnecting! This mouse is a complete joke! Dont listen to some one thats probably paid to "review it".
great review man 😊
Feedback for Logitech: add a second left click and call the "Master Shift" and also add 12 buttons under the horizontal scroll wheel and ad tilt buttons to the vertical wheel
EDIT: and a pixart 3360 sensor and I'm willing to pay 250$ for it.
Tilt button wheel for sure! It's the only reason I don't use one...
