Great for reading documents because of the awesome mouse wheel. Although, there are things that a normal mouse wheel does better too, like zooming in CAD-work for example. (Several controlled bursts being better than one "send" from which you don't know where you'll end up.) However, as a pointing device it is simply: Crap. I have degraded mine to "laptop mouse" in favour of my Steelseries Prime Wireless. I can send that thing to the other end of my ultrawide with an effortless swing, and I don't even have to think about lifting it up and placing it down elsewhere to adjust pointer position vs. hand position. Lifting up and adjusting, or even just flicking around the MX, is clunky, slow and not nice due to the weight. The sensor is unaccurate, and what's more, the shape isn't actually ergonomic compared to a classic EC2 ergo shape. That's a completely different (and much better) experience than it was using the MX Master. as someone who bought into all the hype surrounding this mouse, kind of disappointed by how much lag i randomly get even when using the dongle inches away from the mouse. also the gesture button works so infrequently that i just dont even use it.
I thought I was the only one. Everyone and their dog is suggesting this mouse but it lags "so much"(meaning you can clearly tell) it's awful. Did you find a fix for this? I love the ergonomics but as someone coming from competitive FPS games I just can't use a mouse lagging so much.
@@fbdjwjflac mmm I thought about that too but, despite the fact that these Macs have been out for a year and not having a native software is an embarassment for Logitech, we're talking about a super basic bluetooth mouse. They seriously can't fix the lag of such a simple peripheral?
Get the Windows version, works great on a M1 Macbook Air, but you get an extra addon (usb) in case you want to use it (although Windows machines usually have bluetooth too?).
I got an apple magic mouse for Christmas which I refunded to MX Master 3 because I had problems with jitter, lag and such when connected via Bluetooth on my Macbook Air m1. The problem continued with MX M 3, but worked flawless with the mouse's USB dongle. The same was true on my friends identical Air m1. Since I use it for work in a home office setting I didn't care using the dongle - but I was still settled to fix it. A lot of other mac users have had the same problem with Bluetooth mouse's on the M1 device and I quickly found out that when it works flawlessly with just Bluetooth - the setting "shake mouse pointer to locate" was turned off. Clicking it off in Display under the Accessibility Screen fixed it for me as well It is really weird why this setting have made such problems, but it fixes it
I don't really have problem with bluetooth, but this setting was already turned on on my mac so it might explain it. However I have problems with the gesture button on my mx master 3
I find the gesture butto very uncomfortable to press. I was also experiencing lag but I think it was due to interferences with bad WiFi or low quality dongle. Or combination of both.
Dear, I am using Logitech Mk850 from last 2 years, and I am addictive to the shortcut options using different apps. My question is that my MK850 offers 6 buttons to customise, and more importantly 3 buttons with roller, (Horizontal roller left button, Horiznntal roller right button, And clicking on the roller button), I am not sure after watching your review that Logitech MX3 offering these buttons or not? Kindly let me know about it.
hello!! Really enjoyed your video, and I bought the same mouse, but I am struggling with some buttons(Gesture button, forward/backward button, horizontal scroll). I am not sure, but did you have some problem with them?! I installed both applications for the mouse(Firstly I tried with the Logitech Options secondly with the Logitech Options +) but unfortunately those buttons didn't work for me...(same problem on windows and mac). Have you got any idea?!
I experience something very strange. In mac preview, a slight scroll results in scrolling at least 5 pages instead of a single page. Anyone else experiencing this?
Here is a tip to all users like me.... Most of the logi mx master 3 users will be using mouse under default config. Please change following to have a better experience with the mouse. Go to mouse settings in windows settings >> go to additional mouse settings >> Pointer options >> turn off Enhance pointer precision. It changed over all experience with the mouse.
How are these with M1 macs? I've read reviews that the Bluetooth stability is unusable and very laggy with M1 Mac Chips. The app that runs the additional button features is not supported with M1 chips. I'm looking for a mouse for my new Mac Studio.
Logitech bluetooth compatibility with Macs are always shaky as hell. I want to love them so much but I always come back to the Magic Mouse sometime just because of the dependability factor.
If anyone wants something similar to this mouse in terms of features and ergonomics, but a lot cheaper, try looking for the Logitech M720 Triathlon. Can be found for $40.
I hate it on MacBook Air M1. Bought MX3 for work (windows), and works great, but macbook is laggy and choppy as hell when scrolling. Tried all sorts of things and even Logitech wasn’t able to help me. Experience is so bad I’d just rather use the trackpad when browsing.
I love it for video editing with the horizontal scrolling, but there’s a noticeable amount of lag sometimes (seems more apparent on macOS than on Windows10).
can you program mx master 3 gesture button or any other button to close window without clicking on the X in the left or right corner (depending which OS you use)?
if you have like adhd or are just bored, i found the scrolling wheel to be an amazing fidget toy... i am going to break my mouse wheel within a month aren't i?
I want to buy it but I'm afraid of MX master 4 mouse being released soon because MX master 3 is released in 2019... Same case with Logitech MX Keys keyboard
Is the scroll smooth or stepped? I have a G502 and even with the ratchet disabled it still scrolls in steps. It was never a problem until I got given a MacBook and magic mouse and realised how nice the scroll on that is. It would also be amazing if Logitech made a mouse with the same touch/scroll functionality that the magic mouse has, except one with half decent ergonomics. I feel they could use the thumb platform in a similar way to the magic mouse. I'd kill for that!
I wish it was smaller and also had a built-in rechargeable battery. I have fingertip/claw grip style but only my pointer finger is on the mouse. All the other fingers normally are on the sides and I use my thumb and middle finger to move the mouse precisely. My wrist sits on the mousepad almost without any movement at all, and I move only the mouse. I'm a programmer, working 8-10 hours every day, and I haven't noticed any wrist strain at all. My G102 mouse has a button to switch between DPI modes. If I don't need high precision, I set DPI to high - I can cover the entire screen with small finger movements. When I need more precision for working with pixels in images, I switch to a lower DPI. Also, I like heavier mice because those stay better in place when I need to stop at a single pixel. If I try palm grip and lift my wrist up to move it with the mouse, I feel wrist strain immediately. So, fingertip grip is my best option, but it limits my mouse choices. My perfect mouse would be with an optical/electromagnetic scroll wheel encoder ()those last longer), built-in charging and fingertip grip friendly. I have medium size hand, but my fingers are skinny.
This would be great if it were a trackball. I'm not sure why Logitech neglects their trackballs. You want better productivity more exacting control? Trackball.
Hey, do it get laggy when connected to a Mac? I purchased one and it completely got laggy on Mac, however it works so fine on a PC or Windows laptops. I don't know why? Does anybody is facing the same issue as mine?
Setting up a "maximize & minimize" witch a reach of a thumb + open new mail" with thumb, by hitting the lower button is f@cken gold. Not to mention, if you go with Logitech Craft Keyboard, that wheel does a bit more for you then the MX keys.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that Micro USB is obsolete. Not only can you barely ever find the right cable, it's one of the least durable connectors I've dealt with. The only device I have left that uses this connector is my Razer Nari Ultimate headset. And it recently broke. I'm gonna try to find a good replacement that uses USB-C
Maybe, although my experience with a very early Logitech device with no replaceable battery (the K810 keyboard) is that I still had extremely good battery life after 8 years of medium to heavy use. In fact one of the keys broke before the battery started giving up. In reality, modern microprocessors that they put in these devices are so extremely well optimised for ultra-low power consumption, that it's barely worth thinking about any more.
I love my Logitech MX Anywhere 2S that I’ve been using with my MacBook Air M1 for more than 1 year with no issues at all. The Logitech Options software is still only intel and I saw a new beta version coming but it’s still beta, it still only intel and it’s not supporting my mouse yet, just the latest version 3
I have this mouse.....perfect! My 2016 MBP 15 inch is partitioned with MACOS on one side and Windows 10 on the other.....cannot upgrade to Windows 11 due to laptop hardware - who cares, right? Anyhow, the Logitech mouse works well on both OS's.... I've been using Logitech Mice for about 10 years now.......no issues
Amazing product review. I have small hands with slender fingers tho... I'm afraid the MX3 is a bit too large... does anybody has any suggestions on a good mouse with the same buttons/wheels? i'm desperate
Got mine a few months ago and I really like it! OT: Have you seen the Huawei Mateview 28” 4K+ monitor? It’s 3:2 (hence the 4K”+”) but spec wise it looks like it would compare well against most monitors in its price range. I’ve got no clue what Huawei’s status is in AUS but I’d love a review comparing it to (among others) the Dell monitor you reviewed. Looks like a decent option, especially for Mac aficionados 😊 Keep up the good work!
I have 3 of these mice, one normal and 2 for Mac. And 4 PCs, 3 macs, one windows work-notebook. On the Mac they are paired with Mac OS and bootcamp, the normal one is used for my work-notebook, with the dongle and Mac mini.
Depending on how demanding you are with mice, after using a decent gaming mouse. I would say Lightspeed tec is a 10, dongled MX Master is a 7 and bluetooth is a 3, so, it is okay for a casual gamer.
@@CreatedTech Thanks for the confirmation. I ask this out of two things, first is I heard about the M1 Bluetooth connectivity issues, and the current Bluetooth situation that I met on my laptop (running Windows, where it will disconnect itself and then not reconnect sometimes, or need to wake it up by openning the action center or the Bluetooth devices settings panel).
"Any one can use this mouse" .... err, except us terminally left handers of-course ;) There are so few options for left handers - that even though we only account for 10% - the first company that brings a mouse like this out for left-handers will have the market sewn-up to themselves.

Or how about you make note of it and leave a link to that video for everyone to reference? Oh, not reasonable for you? Too much work? Does the rubber on mx mice last longer without becoming sticky?
as someone who bought into all the hype surrounding this mouse, kind of disappointed by how much lag i randomly get even when using the dongle inches away from the mouse. also the gesture button works so infrequently that i just dont even use it.
And the scrolling is just broken
I thought I was the only one. Everyone and their dog is suggesting this mouse but it lags "so much"(meaning you can clearly tell) it's awful. Did you find a fix for this? I love the ergonomics but as someone coming from competitive FPS games I just can't use a mouse lagging so much.
@@agoniavr Do you have an M1 Mac too? I think it might be partially to do with the fact that Logitech doesn't even have M1 native software.
Clicking it off in Display under the Accessibility Screen fixed it for me as well
It is really weird why this setting have made such problems, but it fixes it
I don't really have problem with bluetooth, but this setting was already turned on on my mac so it might explain it. However I have problems with the gesture button on my mx master 3
I find the gesture butto very uncomfortable to press. I was also experiencing lag but I think it was due to interferences with bad WiFi or low quality dongle. Or combination of both.
Do you connect it to ur Mac via bluetooth or with the dongle?
Can you make an instructions clip on how to downgrade macOS safely without making a time machine backup ???
Dear, I am using Logitech Mk850 from last 2 years, and I am addictive to the shortcut options using different apps. My question is that my MK850 offers 6 buttons to customise, and more importantly 3 buttons with roller, (Horizontal roller left button, Horiznntal roller right button, And clicking on the roller button), I am not sure after watching your review that Logitech MX3 offering these buttons or not? Kindly let me know about it.
I am adding: I just wants to know that Logitech Mx 3 offers top roller horizontal left and right buttons, like Logitech MK850 Mouse offers.
I'm looking for a mouse for my new Mac Studio.
i love how youtube creators never respond to your comments / engage with their viewers, yet need us to subscribe for them to earn $$$
It’s because there are two models of the mx master 3. It’s the MX master 3 and the Mx master 3 for Mac
Logitech bluetooth compatibility with Macs are always shaky as hell. I want to love them so much but I always come back to the Magic Mouse sometime just because of the dependability factor.
Never had any problem in >1 year. M1 Air (+ Custom Desktop tower dual booth Linux/Windows) + MX Master 2.
I don't have this kind of problem on M1 mac
@@seilax it used to be a problem before the Logitech MX Master 2S
If anyone wants something similar to this mouse in terms of features and ergonomics, but a lot cheaper, try looking for the Logitech M720 Triathlon. Can be found for $40.
Does that have a side scroll wheel?
@@MatSmithLondon no side scroll wheel, unfortunately. that’s the only thing missing from it vs the master 3
Is it true that the unified receiver gives off less EMF's than the Bluetooth feature?
I hate it on MacBook Air M1. Bought MX3 for work (windows), and works great, but macbook is laggy and choppy as hell when scrolling. Tried all sorts of things and even Logitech wasn’t able to help me. Experience is so bad I’d just rather use the trackpad when browsing.
Do you mean the mx master 3 for windows works on your M1 MacBook Air fine?
I love it for video editing with the horizontal scrolling, but there’s a noticeable amount of lag sometimes (seems more apparent on macOS than on Windows10).
I have this issue on my mac as well and it's frustrating because it works fine with windows but not so good with macbook
Can you program it to press the enter key? That would be really useful.
can you program mx master 3 gesture button or any other button to close window without clicking on the X in the left or right corner (depending which OS you use)?
Are the buttons customiable? Can it use macros?
if you have like adhd or are just bored, i found the scrolling wheel to be an amazing fidget toy... i am going to break my mouse wheel within a month aren't i?
I am facing the same issue i thought i was going mad
Setting up a "maximize & minimize" witch a reach of a thumb + open new mail" with thumb, by hitting the lower button is f@cken gold. Not to mention, if you go with Logitech Craft Keyboard, that wheel does a bit more for you then the MX keys.
I cant hable the latency, even with the dongle, I WANT to like it, but simply cant.
is mx master 4 going to launch soon ?
What keyboard do you have?
I've been using a wired Logitech Hero 502 for a decade now maybe more and I love it
Hi ! 😁 the dongle is usb c ?
I got the 3 over the 3s becauses it wasn't much of a update and I didn't like the mushy feel with the click on the mx 3s
what about the gestures? Doesnt this mouse support some of macOS gestures? Would have been nice to get to know something about that
he talked about this.....did u even watch???
@@laptopfan1 ye.. the mission control one. But arent there more?
Does it sometimes not scroll even when wheel is moving?
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that Micro USB is obsolete. Not only can you barely ever find the right cable, it's one of the least durable connectors I've dealt with. The only device I have left that uses this connector is my Razer Nari Ultimate headset. And it recently broke. I'm gonna try to find a good replacement that uses USB-C
What about Chromebook compatibility?
This mouse looks amazing, I use ableton and RustRover alot, and this will greatly benefit my produvitiy. Even for gaming!
No replaceable battery is kind of nuts though
Is it standard now for the M1?
Not a fan of this mouse. The scrolling is so inconsistent in my experience with mac.
How big is a small hand?
I saw a comment about a "Logitech M720 Triathlon", check about it
@@seilax thank you sir!

Looks like a decent option, especially for Mac aficionados 😊
Keep up the good work!
My MX Master 2S refuses to die. hahahahaha Using it for about 5 years now.
I have 3 of these mice, one normal and 2 for Mac. And 4 PCs, 3 macs, one windows work-notebook. On the Mac they are paired with Mac OS and bootcamp, the normal one is used for my work-notebook, with the dongle and Mac mini.
hi, do we need to buy any connector for MacBook Pro 2021 as the laptop doesn't have usb-c port. I am confused in this part.
what's your hand size in cm??
Does the Bluetooth connection actually stable as how you actually plug in the dongle?
Yes, I don't use mine with a dongle. It connects straight to the Mac's bluetooth and I haven't had any issues.
@@CreatedTech Do you use the original mx master 3 or for Mac?
"Any one can use this mouse" .... err, except us terminally left handers of-course ;) There are so few options for left handers - that even though we only account for 10% - the first company that brings a mouse like this out for left-handers will have the market sewn-up to themselves.
Great review!
Thank you🙏
Have you had any issues with the side scroll wheel when using it for zoom in the adobe programs? Mine seems to intermittently work to zoom in and out. Sometimes working, sometimes does not.
I just got this mouse for my macbook and it one of the best mouce for gaming.
I really want to watch this video, for me the best “mouse” is the Magic Trackpad but a friend recomeend me this mouse as a Mac user
I have the Magic trackpad too actually - it sits to the left of my keyboard, and the MX Master on the right.
My MX-Master mouse is lagging. I have a MacBook Air
M1. Do you have a solution to this problem. Already
disconnected and reconnected. Uninstalled and
reinstalled software and also used the USB hub.
Nothing helps.
no one will answer you cause the answer is simple. the mouse is struggle with m1 and their crappy logi software.
But then the latency….
@Think Again i contact with the "epic pro logitech support" and their answer was: "if it works with windows then your mac is faulty"
Same with me. Some how this mouse not compatible with M1
@@Panagiotis-Skordilis It has nothing to do with logi software or m1, it's the same with Windows. This mouse has a very low polling rate, which is what makes people think that it's "laggy".
Anyone else has an issues with the gesture button on the MacBook Pro?
Probably I'm the only one but the look and the shape of the MX1/MX2 is a better fit to my palm. I'm a bit disappointed with the MX 3, but I'm in the 14 days return policy still...haha...

2:23 if your left handed (like myself) and use a mouse like that your crazy because there's no point as it makes it harder to actually use a computer
Few hours ago I was searching for a video of how this mac performs on M1 Macbook Air, on Monterey, and i saw your video, i hope the bluetooth connectivity works without issues for me, am using the latest Mac Os, Monterey.
It's almost a really good mouse. The top scroll wheel sucks on this thing. I went back to the Lift with it's rubberized wheel. For as much as this costs, I expected better.
