      Low days are always tough, especially when there’s nobody to talk to. Need to have a strong mindset. That’s one thing I love about these long adventures, pushing myself through the tough times, and coming out the other side a stronger person 😊

      It has been a great backpack. Di put it in the washing machine and it ripped a big hole in it now 😂. I’m happy to upgrade now, this backpack was also a bit heavy. It weighed 1.2kg with nothing in. So happy to upgrade to a much lighter model. The lighter the bag the easier and more enjoyable the hike 😊

    Brilliant - well done Ryan. An epic adventure that was finished off with a little bit of cookie kindness. And what a beautiful beach to finish on. I'm wondering what it is you're going to do next. All the best. Mark

      Cheers Mark. The lady in the bakery was so nice, she was surprised to learn I’d been hiking non stop for 4 months. The free cookie tasted amazing. I have lots of adventures planned this year 😊 no hikes as big as the Hexatrek but a lot of amazing trails.

      Thank you. I really enjoyed the last few days of the Hexatrek. It wasn’t massive mountains but there was still a fair bit of elevation with amazing views. I really enjoyed seeing the Atlantic Ocean with still 3 days to hike. It really added to the emotions of finishing 😊 good to hear you experienced the last few days of the Hexatrek. Are you planning to hike the part you missed next year?

      @RyansNextAdventure  5 місяців тому +1

      Cheers David, it was an incredible adventure. Thanks for following along my friend 👍🏼 I have alot of hikes planned this year, not 100% sure of the order yet but one of the hikes is the Cambrian Way through Wales, it looks like an amazing hike. Nothing as big as the Hexatrek though. Just a lot of shorter hikes that I’ve wanted to do for a while. Also hoping to get to the French Alps again and hike the Tour De Mont Blanc. Love the mountains 😊 Are you planning any hikes for 2024?

    • @davidbradshaw8364
      @davidbradshaw8364 5 місяців тому

      The next 3 hikes on my ‘to do list’ are the Welsh Coast Path, The Cambrian Way and the Tour de Mont Blanc so we’re thinking on similar lines. I’ve got various things going on this year but I hope to do at least some of the WCP - I’d like to do it as a thru hike but I might have to do it in sections, we’ll see.

    • @RyansNextAdventure
      @RyansNextAdventure  5 місяців тому +1

      @@davidbradshaw8364 That’s awesome. I want to do the Wales Coast Path but not this year. Maybe in the next few years. I’m planning the Cambrian Way for July or August. I’ve also been looking at the Isle of Man Coast Path which looks cool. May squeeze that in this year too. I miss coastal hiking so want to do some this year also. Hope you’re keeping well mate.

    • @davidbradshaw8364

      I’m doing ok with some interesting things happening this year but I also want to fit some hiking in. . I love both the mountains and the coast so hiking in either area makes me happy 😊.
      I’ll follow your Cambrian Way hike with interest as I might do that next year. I’ve walked in all the mountain areas it covers so it will be great (and challenging) to walk over them all as a thru-hike. Take care

      Thanks Harvey. No better feeling than having a big thru-hike planned, June will come around quick and you will be on trail. Very exciting. As Di mentioned we are currently in North Wales and I’ve hiked a bit of the Cambrian Way. I didn’t realise it goes over the mountains and to the summits. It’s making me even more excited to hike it. I will be hiking it this summer, can’t wait. Thanks for watching and good luck with your Hexatrek preparations, if you have any questions about the trail, let me know. Always happy to help 😊

    • @Harvey493
      @Harvey493 5 місяців тому +1

      @@dianel8001yes definitely you'll quickly get hiking fit lots of ascents about 23000 metres over the whole trail lots of chances for summit camping and through the most remote parts of Wales. Enjoy your adventures!

    • @Harvey493
      @Harvey493 5 місяців тому

      @@RyansNextAdventurethanks Ryan and congrats on doing it in 118 days I have six months free so will be planning to complete it in 150 to 200 days once in a lifetime so I want the time to enjoy. You'll have fun on the Cambrian way a challenging route but you've done the hexatrek so won't be an issue, once you get hiking fit after a few days you'll be running up the ascents 😂 it's about 23000 metres and that's over just 300 miles but plenty of opportunities for summit camping. It's my favourite UK trail.

      @@Harvey493 Sounds like a great idea, always good to have free time on these big thru-hikes. Nothing worse than feeling pressured to finish. There’s loads of beautiful French villages to explore and stage 1 has so many castles to explore also, you will love it. Good to hear that the Cambrian Way is your favourite hike. I can’t wait to hike it 😊
