Thank you for clarifying the use of these adjustments. I'm new to nitro RC cars and have one for my grandson. He is eager to start and run it. The hobby shops charge a fee to help with these matters. Your advice is extremely helpful and valuable.

just got a Revo 3.3 used and I found that had to set the LSN then the HSN and after I got the HSN correct I had to readjust the LSN for idle rpm point. after that the thing pops right off every time. worm or cold. the guy I got it from had the HSN 3x richer then it should have been and the idle and throttle control set way to high just to keep it running. what a goof

I’m literally one week into nitro not even and this has helped so much!, I still have blue smoke at the lower so just need to get that adjusted
Glad it helps :) Remember that blue smoke on a Nitro is good though.

The HSN controls air and fuel mix from Partial (around half) to full throttle. LSN is idle speeds and low speed driving
TheRCBiker hi, I have a thunder tiger pro 15 engine. It’s old but starts fine. It just gets way too hot to the point it loses power and cuts off at about 2 min of running it. It’s so hot water boils on the engine top. Do you have any recommendations on what’s wrong? Thanks
Very nice vid. It would be nice if you make a vid, wich shows the bad hsn, and lsn setups both the lean and the rich sets. Because the car you go with is almost have the right tune but most of us how try to tune have very wrong sets. So it would be more helpfull i think. Thx.

Air and fuel are two different things. Which one are you asking about?

well done, really good video,,:) and remember about 50% of your cooling comes from the the air/fuel mix. So if it runs lean, it gets too hot and the motor wont like it;) or even die:(.. have fun:)
I was always taught to tune the LSN first.
Using a pinch test, engine should run 3-5 seconds max.
Only then can you tune the HSN.
My rc keeps cutting out when I accelerate and it takes ages to start is the low speed needle to lean or rich

Woah... I just noticed you have 3003's for both your throttle/brake and your steering... Waaaaaaah?
Why not?
1. Because they are slow as hell.
2. Because they are weak as hell.
@@PerryCodes I guess they're the stock servos for a kyosho model. I have a PureTen Alpha and it has the same servos. If you use your rc just for fun, I guess they're fine. Of course if you want to get competitive on track an upgrade is needed.
Airflow is ok. And it has good smoke trail.

what way do i turn it when i want to increase the speed of my car, i have a revo 3.3. left or right?

Start with new batteries new glow plugs and new fuel lol
I know have a sledge hammer s50 it's got low high and a mix metering screw you tune hi and low then a just your mix screw is 8.2cc engine, you should do one on a 3 screw engine with a mix screw
I just got my second rc car and its not starting. It had been used 2 times but the person left fuel in it for well over a year. I have cleaned it as much as i can but stil not starting. I have clean new fuel and a new glow starter. How do i adjust the screws for lets say a first start

If when im driving my nitro Tmaxx Or revo an when ez start wire falls off that connects to glow plug An car shuts off that means car isn’t tuned right

I have an hsp 1/10 nitro monster truck when I get it started and turn my transmitter on in the truck it kills it. Would you know why? Any Info would help I have broke my truck in and tuned it from your videos. They have become very helpful to me you now have a new subscriber!
Brandon Chapman i have the same rc monstertruck... And from the time i abjust the two screws.... Nothing work... One in low speed kills engine one in full throttle.... We have to change rc car i think... :)

hey JT, good vids man, lots of help... love ur work. i have a question... my nitro engine chews glow plugs. on a good day, ill use 1 glow plug per tank of nitro.. pretty crazy. do u know if a rich/lean running engine will cause the element in the glow plug to get deformed and look like its been sucked or pushed back into the plug itself? hard to picture i know, if u want a picture i can link/upload an example of 1 of my glow plugs. thanks heaps and keep up the useful nitro tips!

Hi I have few questions
1.My car was running fine but all of the sudden it slow down like has nearly no power even after giving full throtle it just drive very slow. Smoke and sound of the engine comes as normal.
2. Why I need lot of strokes to start engine.
3. Why engine throwing alot of fuel.
4. Why engine switch of when turn electric power on.

it all depends how much you are going to to use it. if its tuned correctly and you take care of the engine, then it should last around 6-7 gallons of nitro.

and another think,iam like pulling say 50 times to get the first start up and when i remotely trothle it shuts off.....why?

the cogs that turn the drive shaft on the engine are they so post to move back and fourth
Do you have to do this everytime? My Nitro car always turns off when i acelerate a lot.
That is low fuel at high speeds. Your HSN is probably too lean you can overheat your engine. try to open the HSN like half turn and then make the final adjustments until you have nice acceleration and some blue smoke at full throttle. Hope this helps. Cheers
I'm having a bogging problem on trx 3.3 only @ full throttle, I was told since it's a 2speed trans it's my LSN that's to Rich, so I need to learn it out & it should fix my full throttle bogging..
It'll be the high speed thats too lean... fuel starvation . Turn CCW half a turn

Where did you get your glow starter with the Lipo battery from and what size Lipo
How would you reset your needles if someone messed with it or start from scratch. what would be your starting point. Axial .27 engine Nephews thought they were funny and moved the needles and rc wont stay on but heats up a bit. Glow plugs burn quick and spews a bit of oil

Hey good show but I have a Team Associated nitro MG monster truck it will start but shuts off once I touch the throttle the truck has never ran the buyer gave it to me when he could not even start it.
How come you have nothing on tuning your idle needle? Is it for strictly carb depth? I know itz the last thing your suppose to do, but I'd sure appreciate a tutorial on idle screw.

My Sandmaster mk2 as far as i can see has no low end niddle . The high needle is all the way down to stop. it starts but if u turn it too much counterclockwise it floods out. Also my sandmaster mk2 don't move when u give it the gas. wondering if my differential is out. 1 sode is tight otherside is loose and turning when u hold it either by hand or with ellen wrench. u turn the gear by hand the both move. put it on the ground car smokes and standing still. got nobbie tires on back
