Hi there, stopping the engine by the flywheel has never been my preferred method, blocking exhaust or pinching the fuel line is better as it doesn't put pressure on the crankshaft. In regards the tuning if it's running then just start driving it about and adjust the settings accordingly :)
@@TheRCBiker I did originally try the pinch test but the car was still running nearly 15 seconds later and blocking the exhaust takes a good while aswell do you have any recommendations to start with?
Hey man I saw to shoot you a message if you’ve got a problem. My f4.6 v2 will idle but runs bad, if I adjust the tune it’ll run but but out with wide open throttle and won’t idle. I really have no clue what I’m doing wrong with it
@@TheRCBiker much appreciated I’ve won a bid on eBay for a hyper 7 with the electrics and everything else apart from the engine but I thought to see what engine is best to put in that is good quality.

Hi Travis. A lot of the time people think their engines are running too hot when actually they're fine. Drop a few drops of water onto the engine heatsink when it's up to temperature. If it sizzles away (like putting hot water into a frying pan!) then it IS too hot. If it just sits there, heats up and goes, then it's fine.
TheRCBiker cool I will try this! I have a temp gun but I was getting a few different temps. I might make a video & send it to you, I seen you recommended thus to someone else. Thanks for the help!👍🏼

Hi there, it's not unusual to have the oil spitting from the exhaust, what you're seeing is unburnt oil and if you're using a particularly oily fuel (model technics for example) then they can spit oil on even a lean setting. If you've messed up the settings the best thing to do would be return them to factory defaults and then you can work from there.
If i run my rc truggy on 25% nitro and changing my fuel to 20% nitro do i have to tune it again?... what needle should i probably look at to?... do i have to lean it or richen it?... from 25% to 20% nitro...
I wish I could get the timing of the engine down where it stays put when I put the accelerator forward etc etc I haven't run it for 4 years heated it up started first time but the timing is completely out I'm a novice if I can sort that out I'll be completely happy

Hi Ryze, are you referring to the gasket that should sit between the engine block and manifold? The threadlock should only be blue threadlock so you should be able to remove the screws. Have you used red threadlock?
TheRCBiker sorry theres no thread lock on the exhaust its held on with like springs, i mean the engine is held on with threadlock and i cant remove that, so i need ideas on how to fix it without taking the engine off

hey so I got my nitro and it wouldnt start with 25% but as soon as I put 20% it started right up and when it got empty I put the 25% again and it wouldnt start again so does that mean it doesnt take 25% at all or do i need to do something different for it to run on 25%
Wassup the rc biker. I have a 17 year old mach 28 that is kinda broken. I put fuel in it and use a very hot glowplug but it doesn't even make the sound for when an engine starts.
Hi Adam, have you tried pouring a few drops of nitro fuel directly on top of the piston?
just getting into nitro cars i have a question i purchased a 2nd hand hsp 1/10 vx.18 engine and the car was massively out of tune i have no reference for starting points no user manual etc on the hsn or lsn needles i have watched some of your videos on tuning the needles but i was wondering if you had any advice for properly tuning a car with no starting point or reference the car does start but didnt when i purchased it i followed your video on turning the lsn 1/8 turn to stop it quiting when the ignitier was removed and it now stays running without the igniter attached where would you recommend i go from here also turning them off i have been using the soft side of a screwdriver to bump the flywheel too turn it off is this ok? would it cause any issues
I really have no clue what I’m doing wrong with it
Return all the tuning needles back to factory default, replace the glow plug, and then start from scratch!
What is the best reliable engine to put in a 1/8 scale buggy and also what is the best fuel .
Force engines are good for bashing, Not got much option in regards to fuel. Optifuel is good
@@TheRCBiker much appreciated I’ve won a bid on eBay for a hyper 7 with the electrics and everything else apart from the engine but I thought to see what engine is best to put in that is good quality.
I wish I had more nitro people to hang out with just got a Losi 8t did the proper break in & tune “I think” it seems to run real good smoke trail all the way from idle to full throttle no cutting out but it’s getting hot I don’t know if it’s tuned right I don’t know what to look for or sound should be?
@@INSIDIOUS-ONE You're welcome
I'm not a massive fan of temp guns as they do give inaccurate readings, I do use mine sometimes but you've got to take the readings with a pinch of salt!
TheRCBiker ya noticed that I kinda do 3-4 readings & see how close they are!
Great content ✊ is that a Magpie singing?
hi friend i want to ask i have rc car motor vertex 21 engine
I'm looking for an rc nitro head and I have this problem, I can't find it anywhere, could you give me some advice?
only head from vertex 21 purple
Thank you for your help
All of your nitro content are really well thought, love all your rc video since 10yrs back. Can all nitro engine be reset flush on all lsn and hsn if the user doesn’t know the current settings
Thank you :) It depends on the engine really, I wouldn't say flush to edges will work on any engine. Most default settings can be found on google :)
TheRCBiker tq too.. :) yup maybe deferent engine might be deferent default base tune. Thanks keep it up brother l!
very helpful thank you much !
You've come a long way from your early video's. This one is much easier to watch. Not sure why UA-cam keeps recommending me your videos though...
Hey! Thanks... Not sure either. maybe because I watch your videos? :)
@@TheRCBiker Do you haha, that's kool cheers man. I watch yours from time to time but UA-cam keeps sending me emails saying you should watch this video and it's usually one of yours lol.
@@HaggardRC Yes I do, I enjoy the casual tinkering with RC style videos :) No idea how the UA-cam algorithm works but it's good to know UA-cam things my videos are worth recommending 😂
Hi mate. Why glue U recommend for my new rims and tyres. Cheers bra
You can get proper tyre glue :)
I left my batteries on my car on over night what might be the problem looking to fix it!
From a mechanic standpoint, I believe Nitro is the way to go
It's definitely more fun! :)
I’m new to the hobby , I got me a nitro slash and I think I flooded it n moved the needle to much what should I do ??
do i have to run the car like once a week so the engine will be okay?
No
My biggest issue is not knowing if when I did my run in was I too easy on it or too tough haha .. I thought I was too tough then watching a million videos I seem to be getting the right results I just don't know if I'm flogging the thing haha
I still trying to get my t maxx up and running,it’s been problems after problems, still can’t get idle right, thing reves like crazy, I bought it used many years ago ,never ran it ,ordered new 2.5 racing engine, still having issues ,
What if you have messed with the carb screw? And flooded the engine and ruined the filter which I had just oiled.
Hi , I m new on nitro rc car , however I have HPI G3.0 engine on my HPI RS4 MT , the engine spits fuel through the exhaust , I did play with the needles before I turn on the engine (which is a brand new engine that needs to brake in) but even though the LSN is almost close , the engine still spits fuel and also , if touch the accelerator , just a bit , engine will quite
I’m using NITROPRO 25% race 8% oil
When I return the needles to factory, engine won’t turn on, pull gets hard
So what do you if you have a engine that has not been used for 6 years but it not working right
If i run my rc truggy on 25% nitro and changing my fuel to 20% nitro do i have to tune it again?... what needle should i probably look at to?... do i have to lean it or richen it?... from 25% to 20% nitro...
Yes you will need to retune it. It's impossible to say what you need to do in relation to tuning, you need to tune it according to how it's running.
Hi mate is there any other way to contact u directly for an easier response on my cars I have that my wife and I are learning on ?
I wish I could get the timing of the engine down where it stays put when I put the accelerator forward etc etc I haven't run it for 4 years heated it up started first time but the timing is completely out I'm a novice if I can sort that out I'll be completely happy
hey man, any chance you would know the default carb settings for that buggy? i have the same one and i messed with the lsn and can’t get it running again, it’s cool if you don’t. would be much appreciated though. thanks.
They can easily be found in your user manual, or on google :)
thanks for the video
I might need your advice later on my nitro rc car is new so I need advice on how to tune it
You've got my videos for that!
hey TheRcBiker i have a problem with my nitro it keeps blowing glow plugs any fixes?
Probably the tuning
Send me a video of how it is running via my Facebook page (facebook.com/thercbiker) and I can advise :)
Probably to LEAN he was saying or tri the next hotter plug we by dirt bikes in Pennsylvania we got to run hotter plugs or fawl out the plugs all day long lol hope you fix it god bless be safe
Top advice
Glad you think so!
i have a tmaxx 3.3 should i upgrade to the O.S 21tm motor? is it worth the value? im at the end of the life of this motor so im in need of a replacement .
It'd be a good upgrade I'm sure
Hey I have HPI rush evo. Is working great but I want to know why the engine cutting off after press the break even I change the glow plug.
You need to close your idle speed screw slightly. At the moment the carb is closing too much on breaking thus cutting the engine out.
i have a question, i dont think my exhaust is sealed and i cant take the exhaust off because the screws have threadlock on, any ideas?
Hi Ryze, are you referring to the gasket that should sit between the engine block and manifold? The threadlock should only be blue threadlock so you should be able to remove the screws. Have you used red threadlock?
Heat the bolts with a powerful soldering iron before you try take them you will never get a rounded bolt or skrew again with threadlock
TheRCBiker sorry theres no thread lock on the exhaust its held on with like springs, i mean the engine is held on with threadlock and i cant remove that, so i need ideas on how to fix it without taking the engine off
@@ryze7810 Have you fixed the problem yet
@@alb9022 yes, i bought a new gasket
Hi again! My son want nitro. Do you have some suggestion for a 1/10 robust model? Resistant as can get with reasonable price to jumps and some bumps (1st i'll trim the throttle, but it is a very curious boy). He already made plans to use his 3d printer for some parts =)))))
If you look at the cheap 1/10 HSP cars on banggood you’ll find some good beginner friendly ones. They’re quite well made but, most importantly, the parts are absolutely everywhere and very cheap :)
@@tris1452 But 200$+1-2 months delivery is worst (time especially) than some 250-300EUR from EU. :( In 2 months summer is almost over. :)
Hi Claudiu, How about checking out the FTX Carnage NT? :) It's a good beginners 1/10 car.
See if you can find the HSP car online locally? I know that in the UK we can buy the cars from nitrotek for maybe 20% more expensive than banggood
@@TheRCBiker Thanks'. Has the same price as Carson models as I see. I will look into it. Between FTX & Carson do you have a suggestion?
I has a Stormracer CV10 chassis and I was a little bit disappointed of reliability.
