  • The 2014 Plainview Free-mo layout had 325 feet of mainline with an additional 65 feet on the branch.
The layout had modules from 6 members and a few other members helping to setup and tear down.
Thanks to everyone at the meet for helping the camera car get the express!

I like how you can hear the train orders and the dispatcher in the video, corresponding to the signals

Really nice layout Very scenic. At 3:36, a distant signal is needed in advance of the signal at the bridge.

I am a bit surprised anything stayed on the track. Then about 3 and a half minutes into the video I see an amazing bridge. Overall its not bad. It reminds me of a fond memory I have back in the 90's. I was running on a modular railroad and most people there had top notch equipment and couldn't keep there stuff from derailing. I have with me a cheap lifelike engine and several athearn Burlington passenger cars that just happened to run excellent. I still get comments from former club members on that day.

Looks like you are set up in a gym. How long do you get to keep this set up? Beautiful work at 3:42.

I'm hoping you're joking. There are only 2 that were near the layout - one was running a train in the opposite direction, and the other was running the train camera. For our groups, having kids participate is a way to keep the hobby going - model railroading needs to build the next generation. This video is 4 years old, and the kid running the engine in this video has built the first module in our area with a functioning turntable and roundhouse. He's been running HO scale since he was 3.
