John, I wish you were my local mechanic. I can’t give you enough praise man.. you seem like such a genuinely nice and humble person that the world is definitely lacking these days. Keep it up sir 👍👍
Thanks bud. There’s plenty of guys out there that care. Look for small shops that are not set up to be a Money factory. The large shops will a bunch of people taking a slice of the pie have to put the dollar first. It suck’s but the way it is.
The new Lisle crap version I ordered from Amazon took it back and I just ordered the filter wrench from LHT. Thanks for supplying these as it'll make me feel better about tightening the oil filter instead of using a strap wrench. You guys are appreciated for all the information you put out there. BTW I can't believe a Honda dealer sent that other style to you. A quick search on eBay and that wrench description on one auction shows it fits just about everything else and even states it excludes the S2000. 07AAA-PAAA100 is the S2000 wrench... 07AAA-PLCA100 65MM Oil Filter Wrench DESCRIPTION: New Oil Filter Wrench 65mm. Thanks buddy. It sucks that the original tool changed. I wish I found out sooner as I hate to some of you guys bought it. I tossed both I bought in the trash.
Haha. I bought the filter wrench you suggested a while back and experienced what you saw. I don't often question your judgement but I second guessed you on that recommendation 😂
I know, I’m sorry buddy. I had no idea they’d change it. I give people my word I’d never sell something I would buy myself and feel is quality. I order 2 from different vendors just incase. Both now live in the trash can.
Hey John , I purchased one of those oil filter adapter tools from Fram. It was garbage! I returned it the next day. I m sure you could weld a small piece of metal that stabilizes the two arms as they move outward. Sell them on the store.
I dont own a honda I got an evo x and mazda rx7 fd3s but I always want to own a s2000. I think they are timeless looking. But I wish if LHT would do evos. Once again keep the vids coming. And I love how george left work lolol. Lots of love to the LHT guys from Guyana
I must have got lucky, as I have one of the ‘old style’ filter wrenches. I bought that on your recommendation a while back and its put in good service!
I wish this guy was in my hometown. Went to a shop for my sedan and went back and fourth like 10 times!!! My hatch didn’t even make it to the shop cause I gave up on em after that and In the end my car didn’t work when it came back!!!!
Nice OEM oil filter tool. Another after market part that does not fit a S2000 is the flange gasket between the catalytic converter and the tail pipe. The bolt holes don’t line up.
I bought one of those Lisle 63600 oil filter tools from Amazon back in late December, based on the LHT recommendation. It looks like I got the "loose" (crap) version. It's been over 90 days so I no longer have the option to return it. Even if it doesn't work and it gets tossed in the dumpster, I suppose I've gotten $12 worth of other types of good advice from LHT so no hard feelings.
I bought one of those filter wrenches also. Just like others on here, I couldn't see how you could use yours so easily. I kept it because it was so expensive but threw it away as soon as I watched this. I bought the genuine Honda tool last year and it works very nicely for the Honda s2000 filter. I also took no chances and fitted a filter bracket to prevent the filter from coming loose at high rpm. I know that Honda have the numbers on the filter to get correct tension, however I have heard some nightmares of oil filters coming loose and dumping all the oil. I'd be interested to hear some other people's opinions on the brackets. Thanks
I got the newer style oil wrench from amazon it's annoying. I can get it to work but it takes some work lining it up. Also use it on my Civic SI. I think I'll upgrade to the form fitting wrench. Me and a friend also cut open a old and new light blue s2k OEM filter and the baffling inside seems better? A lot of people are skeptical on new filters but they seem fine to me.
Snap on sells a blue point three jaw planetary oil filter tool that works on the large old style ford or gm filters and the small filters on on honda motorcycles and will remove any filter it can fit around.
If you do decide to offer a filter wrench and filter package, don't forget to include a new sump washer 👍. I'm certain you would anyway, but its amazing how many people just reuse the old washer 🙁.
Would you consider turbo on a 07 Saturn Vue V6 ? It's got the J35S1 Honda engine. Renamed J35A5 from the 2003-2006 Acura MDX with different cam profiles; uses the h5 awd/fwd automatic transmission along with the same wire harness and ECU.
I really enjoy all the great content and keep it going. What’s the part number for the oil filter tool? I have tried to find the tool from the book years ago but no luck up until the s2000 gods gave you the right part number lol
How do you clean an injector? Can I put them into an ultrasonic cleaner or what do you guys do? Keep up the great videos and the great work, Sir! I have a '00 AP1 and wish we had a store with capable mechanics like yours is. 😎
So the main issue was just the valves needing a minor adjustment? I have a 2007 s2000 with 52k miles.. wondering when mine will need the valves adjusted
My local Honda dealer no longer carries the dark blue oil filters for the S2000. The lighter blue coloured filters my dealership recommends is much smaller in size and has a different part number. I have reservations about moving to that smaller filter. Am I right to be skeptical?
@@LHTPerformance no i mean thanks for reviewing the tool, I didn’t know you carried it, I ordered it on Amazon and I got the bad one, so I guess I need to order the one Honda makes.

I noticed that your older filter wrench is built thicker too. Thanks for being an honest and thoughtful friend.👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
3k mile oil changes will yield staining like that. She had no sludge on the tops of the bolts, she kept up on her maintenance.
Love your website John, only place I order my s2000 parts when you have them in stock! Keep it up please and thank you!
Thanks buddy. We’re constantly trying to keep Honda parts in stock. So many things are hard to get.
Just love the channel! Owned my ap1 for almost 8 years and Im still learning about it. Fascinating!
I'm here for the s2k content's.

That's a really thorough job done. Great to see.

Yes. It really sucks they changed. My original one is so good I wanted to offer them in the store as we’re asked about them at least once a week.

Can’t wait to get an opportunity to bring my CR in with Kraftwerks kit.
John. I hate to say it but that filter tool you threw away. I think It uses the 3/8” drive to rest the legs against. I have a similar one.
Conventional motor oil also contributes to that staining. I’m sure change intervals matters too.

The easiest DIY is to use Carb Cleaner
I have one of those filter wrenches...maybe i should engrave it LHT approved now?
Lol. Yes.
I was wondering why my lisle tool was so fucky, I'm gonna try and rig the arms to open more like the old tool now
Do they make one for B series also? not needed but I just like novelty tools to have with the car.

The new filter is the exact same S the older dark blue. As shown in the video. The smaller size is a civic filter.
