I always get excited when you guys post a video. I watched savagegeese review Matt’s Si you guys built the engine in and they raved how awesome the tuning was. You guys don’t get the attention you deserve on UA-cam.
Hey John. What a wealth of information all in one video.👍 Every S2000 owner should watch and use this for reference. Back in the forum days, this would be a "sticky post" right at the top. About that cabin filter... most cabin filters are located inside the cabin. Honda should have called this one the outhouse filter.😁 Great video, guys. Have a great day.
Thanks! Just followed this for my diff fluid. The old fluid still looked good, but now I have piece of mind. You're right, the diff fluid smells pretty bad.
Very excited to hopefully get a similar maintenance service on my GPW CR with you all. I’ve been speaking to Esther over the past few weeks trying to see if I can get an appointment or cancellation since I’m local in Orlando. Fingers crossed!
Good video as per normal. Thanks. The filter tool works fine for Honda size filters. I have cars with larger filters so I need an additional larger tool. I use the large pliers type. Not bothered about crushing the old filter as it is going to the bin!
10 years or 100k miles is the service interval on the Honda blue coolant. I bought my S2K with 17k miles on it a few years ago and the coolant looked good. Went ahead and replaced it anyways because it was 15 years old.
Hi, love the videos. Been a great help in getting my S2000 into top condition. I notice in this video you use Mobile 1 75W-140 in the diff. In video a few years ago you used the Mobile 1 75W-90. I used the 75W-90, wondering if I should now change out to 75W-140? Car is generally used for normal everyday driving. Any thoughts? Please Keep the S2000 videos coming. Thanks.
Amazing video.. Great job . John/ George It's nice to see you guys take the time to go over everything. Btw . I also have that oil filter tool . And it works incredible. & I've used it for years . Once again awesome video. ( xb release )
I worry. You make me think I can do all that myself. :) Just took ownership of my red 06 with 60k on the clock. Time to get busy. First up air box mod, new air and cabin filters from K and N. I vacuumed a cup and a half of dcon mouse poison pellets out of the filter box and the baffle beyond the little door.
I have read that the first wheel brake cylinder to flush/bleed would be the one furthest from the brake master cylinder. (right rear ) The next would be left rear, then right front, then left front.
Hi John, it looks like recently the oem honda filter is now a new part number and made in Thailand. Do you think it's less quality when compared to the previous 15400-PCX-004 ?
John, I love your channel, You use the world translucent where you should be using transparent. Please know i'm not being critical, just trying to be helpful. Thank you for all the great information you and George provide.

I have 128,000 miles on my 03s2000 what oil you recommend for this mileage I already use your royal purple recommendation for transmission and it feels way better
‘What oil ‘ is a never ending debate, a debate I stay out of. If you’re in a colder climate I would go with 5W 30, in a hotter climate 10W 30 or 10W 40. Go with a name brand oil you prefer
I stay LA California I usually do 10w30 mobil im new to the s2000 everyone always recommended your video so i look up to you for wats right sins royal purple worked on my transmission
I always used Mobil 1 Oil Filter thinking that would be the best...from now on i will use the Honda OEM.....just wanted to know what you guys thought about the Mobil 1 oil filter Vs the OEM?
Disclaimer: I have not watched the entire video. Slow data speed where I am at the time of this comment. I suggest sticking with Honda's maintenance schedules in the 2000-2008 S2000 Service Manual either for normal conditions (highway driving; 7,500 mile intervals) or severe conditions (spirited driving, dusty roads; 3,750 mile intervals), starting with as if the S2000 had 0 miles on the ODO. Both: Brake & clutch fluid every 2-3 years independent of mileage. Different opinions are welcome.

For the cabin filter you can use a 5mm socket on the clips and it compresses them just right so they pop out.

That s2k is MINT!!!!!!!!!! It's like straight out of the showroom...
Nice oil filter remover, I have the same thing!!
Every time I hear "super easy" I wait for the follow up of "barely an inconvenience". Thanks a lot Ryan from Pitch Meeting
Packed full of information, great reference video. Thanks!

Solid. I am doing the brake flush and coolant on my 2015 SI next week. Thank you for reminding me of the clutch fluid 😁

Thanks buddy. We changed to 75W 140 as per Ben from Puddy Mod recommendation. It’s a little more money but does offer a little more protection.
This video is so timely for me that I'd give you 2 thumbs up if UA-cam would let me.

Basic maintenance, doesn't get any easier than that. Still amazes me how people neglect it so much.

Wow didn’t know the cabin filter was located there. Hondas usually have in near the glove box.

I haven’t tried it in the K trans. I couldn’t tell you if there’s an improvement or not.

That S2000 is probably worth $25-30,000 in todays market. That’s incredibly low mileage on a very sought after vehicle.
More than that.
More like $32-35k, easily. The prices have went way up since Honda formally announced they weren't planning on making a S2000 predecessor. :)
