When we drove to Florida down I 75 we were in 2 different vehicles and we were moving pretty quickly over the speed limit. All of a sudden the traffic was stopped. As we got closer there along the grass from the shoulder was a car on fire and cut in half. So this is how people drive in Florida and that proved to be true. I seen so many accidents in the 11 years we lived there.

That is really exciting I remember when I was driving my wife would go with me also she absolutely always loved being in the truck after my last company let me go I haven’t been able to get another trucking job but I know how exciting it is getting your CDL when I got mine back in 2017 congratulations 😀

Hey Kevin and Tanya….wanted to give you some “ Fun Fact” info on that big building on your left in Altamonte Springs. It is called “The I-4 eyesore” and construction started in 2001 and took over 20+ yrs to complete. Construction stopped and started several times over the years. And has had more than one owner!
This video mentioned three metropolitan areas my wife and I have lived in since getting married 29 years ago: Orlando, Tallahassee, and Mobile.

Years ago I watched a car carrier turn into a dealership and there was a car in it's path. The person decided not to pull up to let the trucker turn, so he drug his trailer over the back of the car. Never seen that happen again.

Welcome back, Tanja. This is off topic, though I have great news. Last week Monday (June 24th), I had my kidney transplant evaluation and made it on the waiting list last Friday! Hooray!
Also, did you see my comment about the Waupun Truck-N-Show in Waupun, WI I posted a few weeks ago?The community is having its 35th and final heavy-duty trucking show. The show is retiring this year. ☹️ I'm going to miss going to that show every year, but I'm not too sad about it as there's plenty of other trucking shows I'd be able to attend. I could go to the Eau Claire show or even one of these years take a vacation by coming down to MATS. Though it's I not come to MATS until after I receive my kidney.

For me I have requirements. Vanilla Capaccino Starbucks has kept me alert many nights. Alot of my driving is nocturnal. I like driving very early mornings, take a break and deliver later in the morning.

How long does a truck driver stay with trainee
It depends on the company and your experience. After getting his CDL, Kevin went to Werner. They had a 3 day (or was it 4?) orientation and then sent him out with a trainer for three weeks. After a year he went to Crete and they had a 2 day orientation and gave Kevin his truck. No time out with a trainer. Hope that helps.
