Shoutout to Dave for this video. I have been trying to figure out a pizza oven solution that didn’t involve buying one. Using the grill in the way you showed is a game changer. Just made my best pizza using this technique. Thank you sir.
I know you uploaded this a while ago but thank you so much for this. I wanted a pizza oven but was very underwhelmed by what was out there. Lo and behold, why not make one myself and you had the perfect video for me to follow along with and do that. I appreciate you for sharing this. ❤️
I love your channel!!! You have the best ideas. I have used something in all your videos, maybe not all but most. I've been trying to figure out a inexpensive way do make a fire pizza oven for a very long time. I have a old gas grill that the burners are burned out that I can't seem to part with, that will be perfect for this. I'm going to make a Charcoal off set pizza oven out of it. Wow thanks as always I can't wait to see what's next with dave.
Thanks for the kind words! I appreciate your continued support and frequent comments. Likes, shares and comments all help creators win with the youtube alogorith. Thanks again!
I am curious if the clay cover really adds much to the process. Have you tried one without the clay cover? I love the idea of the smoke for the pizza. I have used a tray with pellets in it in the past and like the result. Nice job on your video! 🙂
Love the DIY ingenuity! Seems like it'd work very well. That said...kamado grills with lump charcoal and a mesquite chunk or two thrown in for the win! On a pizza stone I've done calzone, Stromboli, and pizzas....amazing! Akorn kamado right next to my Blackstone. Use both several times a week year round.
@@NextWithDave Akorns are ceramic coated but steel underneath. MUCH cheaper. Take a look at them. I was just experimenting to see if I liked kamados and I LOVE this thing compared to my series of gas grills throughout life. I'm just keeping this one for now. Again, check them out. Keep up the good work! Always enjoy your creations/vids.
What a great idea! I'd suggest use stainless steel screws and washers so they don't rust as easily. Also add a lock washer so the handle doesn't come loose. And if you can't find a "T" handle, a regular round ball or flat handle would work as well. Would putting a layer of aluminum foil to cover the saucer make a difference in heating? I'm worried that some debris might fall off the saucer and land on the pizza?
Overall, it took about 15 minutes to warm up and about 15 minutes to cook. I can see this at a gathering and setting up a pizza bar where everyone makes a different pizza and shares them as they come out. Thank you for watching and especially for taking time to comment!

I havent used my gas grill in two years,,,,,been using my blackstone or pellet smoker,,,,,,maybe i’ll use my char broil for pizza,,,thanks for the idea,,🇺🇸☕️☕️🍩🍩
Brilliant. I am still on my Way to find a good Topheat Solution. an extra Alloycover is not hot enough. Clay over us probably better but risky for a crack.

Videos like this are why youtube exists. I had an idea to use two pizza stones but im sure yours is just better to trap the heat.
