+LovingDemBooks Don't compare yourself to others. Read, and enjoy, books at your own pace. 6 books is great! Some people read 1 or 2 or even none in a year!

Firstly, I love your glasses. They're uber cute.
Secondly, you've made me really intrigued by Six of Crows! I also wasn't SUPER impressed with the Grisha, I enjoyed the first book much more than the rest of the series. I wasn't that interested in reading Six of Crows but now you've made me excited!!

I also read The Nightingale this month. My two favorite things about the book was the fact it followed the two women. Like you said, we got to see what the War was like for them back at home. It was great to see what happened to the women while they worked with the resistance. I love how their characters developed too. Isabelle was reckless and loud mouthed when we first meet her. She grew so much through the book. She became this determined fearless leader. I also love how Kristin Hannah humanized the enemy. Beck was more than just the 'bad guy'. As the reader, I empathized with him. He had a family back at home, he was constantly battling what he thought was right and just vs what he has been ordered or commanded to do. His relationship with Vianne gave me such conflicting feelings but I adored where the author took his character. This book made me want to read more historical fiction novels. If you have any you would recommend, let me know. :)

I avidly watch every single video of yours because your personality strikes me as very genuine and refreshing. My favorite moments, are when you truly loved a book and you get real poignant about it because your excitement is clearly overtaking your ability to elaborate. Two favorite moments in this video: "Harry Potter -- 5 stars -- moving on!" and "Six of Crows -- Dones-O!" You crack me up! Thanks for the terrific content.

  • @silverkyre

Yas! Six of Crows really had everything... It was amazing. They reason I actually liked the Grisha trilogy was in the way Leigh wrote certain scenes. but Six of Crows just delivered on all accounts. I'm so glad you read it.
I've been debating getting The Nightingale. I really want it now.

I read Lady Midnight towards the beginning of this month and ABSOLUTELY loved it. I was sure that it would be my favorite book so far this year.. But then I read the Winner's Curse on the last day of the month, literally just sat down and plowed through it in a few hours, and I'd have to say that it was my favorite read so far this year. It pact such a huge punch in such a short amount of pages and I was a complete mess upon finishing. I'm SO excited to continue on with the trilogy!

For World War 2 stories, I highly recommend Vango by Timothee De Fombelle. Its about the main character who is on the run from the police in France and ends up stowing away on the Graf Zeppelin. There is book 1 and book 2 and the translation from French has been done so well!

Great video! For some reason I just couldn't get into Six of Crows. I guess it just wasn't for me, and it put me in a reading slump. In my March wrap up video, I mentioned how I only read 4 books this month, and I was sad because only one was a long book, and the rest were normal, but hopefully next month will be a good reading month.

The book that I read in March that I am seriously recommending to everyone is The Little Paris Bookshop by Nina George. I even recommended it to my mother and our reading tastes are opposite. I never recommend anything to her and I practically begged her to read it. It's about a man who lives in Paris and owns a bookshop that is on a barge. He prescribes books like medicine for the heart. It made me laugh, cry, gasp, get angry. All the "feels" were there. I seriously think you would love this book.

I honestly think that you would LOVE the novel The History of Love by Nicole Krauss! It is a novel that follows multiple characters that are all connected in some way to the fictional novel which is also called The History of Love. The fictional novel is about a man who fell in love with a girl named Alma during WW2 only to never see her again. It is beautifully written and complex with an amazingly heartbreaking plot twist and ending. I can't even do it justice by trying to describe it but it is my favorite book and I think you should check it out! It seems like it's right up your alley :)

Awwwww your pug! I CAN'T 😩 I loved Lady Midnight! I was quite afraid that I wouldn't be able to connect to the world again but for me this is a close second to TID. I tried reading Soulless once before but I couldn't get along with the writing style 😕 I'm really scared to pick up Leigh Bardugo's first trilogy because I've heard so many mixed things, but everyone seems to love Six of Crows so I will probably give that I try if I don't like Shadow & Bone 😌

I think marathoning the whole of TMI and TID by Cassandra Clare in January and February, I kind of paced myself in March and read two full books and just short of three (I had like 40 pages to go,which I finished last night!) and they were both amazing! I read Stars Above by Marissa Meyer and the last book in the Starbound Trilogy-Their Fractured Light by Amie Kauffman and Meaghan Spooner! I almost finished The Winner's Kiss by Marie Rutkoski-which on the whole was so so good!

I've been wondering about Six of Crows because I had the same thoughts of the Grisha trilogy. Good to know that it's really good. Might check it out soon. Great wrap up. As usual. ;-)

If you enjoyed Souless (and are a fan of historical fantasy in general) then I would highly recommend reading Dark Days Club by Allison Goodman. I thought it had a tighter plot and didn't drift off into the dreaded romance-zone as often as Souless.
