Complexity is huge to me when choosing an expression - whisky or a gorgeous single malt scotch which I prefer! I love discerning the flavours in an expression. I find differences in palettes fascinating. We can all experience a whisky expression differently. I do like a savoury aspect. Wow 9 for balance is amazing! That’s definitely fitness! Live the differences in thoughts on the finish. I thought Dillon said the finish tastes like a sheath. Oh Chivas?! Okay! I’d definitely try this expression!
I am an Islay single malt guy...but picked this up for $70 and after adding a little water...this is a great bottle. Not sure it should be whiskey of the year....but this is a unique scotch that I had not had anything like before. Solid dram. Definitely recommend!
Hmmm I didnt do a deep dive but I sampled this a couple times and it was very ok. I agree 💯 with the young glenmorangie profile and maybe a good compass box. I would’ve pegged it at $50-$60. Def miles away from whiskey of the year.
I was pleasantly surprised with this release as well. Based on previous Whiskey of the Year winners by Whiskey Advocate I certainly had my doubts. Overall very enjoyable. Love the 50% abv. I got a TON of sweetness but not too much where it’s overpowering. Great review!
Manzanilla is a type of dry sherry. In retrospect maybe this is like CB orchard house. Unripened fruits. It is ok, perhaps the new glenglassaugh 12 is better though.
I like how Dillon is claimed to be anything from an angel to a demon to a doctor to a golden clad stagg drinking man of mystery - but jules is the one with enough magic power to turn water to ice.

“Do you have powers?!” 😂😂

Manzanilla is not a sweet wine. It's a dry Sherry wine produced exclusively in the bodegas of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Spain.
Damn y'all had fun with this one
Love that you guys didn't fast forward the tasting portion. Very entertaining. Let it roll.

Managed to snag a bottle. Haven’t cracked it open yet, looking forward to it.

He has powers
Highland Park Cask Strength.. so good. No age statement and hovering around $100
I've watched a bunch of reviews on the new Glenglassaugh range and well see where it goes from here the new bottle and juice seems tempting...
It is not cheap finish, rather young vibrant fruits done very well.
If you like this…you guys have to try the Glen Scotia icons of Campbeltown the mermaid 🧜♀️ double the price but double the flavor as well.
Manzanilla is an olive where I come from
I thought it was a banana.
Got it for $55 (plus tax $61) at Woodmans
Chivas 18 would be a better price comparison
Have you ever wanted to try a 27 year old glenglasgough/Glendronach blend? 124 proof....
woah - sounds intriguing!
I was on the fence. I’ll give it a go.
Bruichladdich 18 on the way???
Paying more than $50-60 for something with no age statement is a deal breaker for me.
