I don’t know about the 25 but I have two Gordon and McPhail, Highland Park 19 9527-year-old. I’m waiting to open but will probably be a while. It scored pretty high from what I read
We need Diamond Dillon to call out more Bu11$h17. Bring him back. We want Dr. Dillon PhdPhd, Diamond Dillon and Sir Dillon to battle it out. I'm thinking Dr. Dillon would come up on top.
Did Diamond Dillon kill Mr. Dillon? Hilarious episode, and (spoilers) always exciting to see something new make it on to the leaderboard. HP 12 was my first scotch, gotta revisit more of their bottles soon
These official bottlings...43%, chill filtered, and possibly even have added colorant. So disappointing. For the price, it should blow the Dewar's 32 out of the water. These are not bottled for the whisky/ey enthusiast. They are the Scotch equivalent of a trophy wife: looks pretty, expensive as f***, and lacking in substance. Just a quick internet search, and you can find independently bottled cask strength, NCF, natural color 17, 18, 20, 24 year highland park for $180~250. In my experience, some of these are so good, in terms of the intensity of flavor, they are the Scotch equivalent of a GTS. I stopped buying official Highland Park bottlings...maybe 6 years ago? Even before they switched to the viking marketing, their flavor was going down hill. Sadly, this is far too common. The rise in popularity is followed by a steady drop in quality, and insane price hikes. P.S. Dutch, you are so wrong on independent bottlings(that they never get the good barrels). Even if they don't get the best barrels, if they present it well(higher strength, NCF, natural color), it can easily beat good barrels that have been castrated through piss poor presentation(chill filtered, anemic proof, e-150a caramel+). No amount of blingy packaging can do anything to save what many official bottlings do to their product. I'm especially referring to Diageo, but also Brown-Forman(I'm still pissed what they're doing to Glendronach), Pernod Ricard, LVMH...etc. It doesn't matter how good of a job they do at the distillery. If you centralize the warehousing and neuter the spirit...you lose terroir(uniqueness/singularity of character), you lose texture, and most of all, you lose flavor. I want to see a blind lineup of official bottlings vs several other versions of independent bottlings. Y'all need to make this a regular series. You can do it with bourbon as well. Official version vs barrel picks. I call the series: real or fake? That's copyrighted! But, I'll allow y'all to use it for now(don't be too petty, Dillon! Y'all's channel is better than Mr. neck scarf's anyway).
@@magi5587, for people who are new to Scotch, Balvenie can be a good place to start. Although, it's been a while since I've purchased a Balvenie. About 7 years ago, I remember enjoying the Balvenie 12, and the overpriced 21 portwood. I purchased one of the first editions of their Caribbean cask 14 year. I was quite excited, as it was fairly priced, but it turned out to be a disappointment. I haven't bought another Balvenie since. Honestly, if you are relatively early on in your Scotch journey, and are looking for that kind of flavor profile, I think you may be happier just going with a Compass Box spice tree instead(this is my benchmark available Scotch in the sweet/spicy profile). Even better, try an independently bottled Longmorn or Benrinnes. Glenfarclas is a bit different. They have been owned by the Grant family for several generations(not a giant corporation!), they direct fire their stills(a rare thing today), they say everything is NCF, and natural color, and their prices are generally pretty reasonable. This is all to the good. I wish they would bottle their standard lineup at a slightly higher abv. I'm currently working on the 15(for some reason, it's the only one bottled at 46%, but not officially sold in the US), and while it's not bad at all, I don't find myself going to it very often. I think I would have enjoyed it much more 5 or 6 years ago in my journey. Now, I've experienced so many more flavorful bottles that it doesn't really excite me much. I also have a couple independently bottled Glenfarclas', but none of them have a high age statement. I think one of them is 11 years, and the other is 14? They are a bit more exciting, but probably not worth the price I paid. I really want to love Glenfarclas. I want to try their family cask releases, but haven't been able to work up the nerve to spend the cash. If I enjoyed any of the 3 different bottles I currently have more, I would probably be motivated. So, in conclusion, I suppose Glenfarclas is still a bit of a mixed bag for me, as it currently stands. If the price begins to shoot up, then I'm certainly not going to consider any more purchases.
I can’t tell what I enjoy more - Dillon playing dress up or the hilarious editing of him. Well done gents
Guys, I don't comment much, but I've never laughed so much watching a video of this magnitude. Diamond Dillon is the sh%t lol. Bring him back, omg 😂
Diamond Dillon's little tiara really suits him.
One of the best episodes. We need more Diamond Dillon, Ditch and Jule.
Was great meeting you guys at the London Whisky show and sharing the Highland Park 25 & 30. Looking forward to more videos in 2024!
That is a princess crown though....This just goes to show how damn good Dewars 32 is 😮
"Is it a shame?" Classic.
Dillon is one knowledgeable dude that can really articulate sh*t well - always impressed.
Whose Dillon?
Great eps. Funny and entertaining. Diamond Dillion the Cusser is also a great addition.
Too funny. Is Diamond Dillon auditioning for the role of Mr. Chow in the next Hangover movie? Did he buy all that off ebay from Elton John?
Dillon is on one 🤣The Dutch noise though
“Sitting around with the Hairy Knuckles” - 😂 Diamond Dillion
All you have to do is mention highland park and the trio shout in unison… diamond!!!.😂
"durrr .... durr.... durr..." so effing good guys - just LOVE your content. Well done again.
You guys make me want to see my college buddies and act like an idiot with them!! I love your channel
Macallan 25 is pretty two-note or whatever as well. The floral in sherry definitely dimishes a lot over time. Also, we need some Platinum Dillon.
Tell it like it is Diamond Dillon!! too awesome!!
Thanks guys, made my mouth watering😂
Love the video and it looked like you guys had a blast making it
Yeah, Diamond Dillon was inevitable. I'd love to try this Highland Park!
Did you not notice the wooden top can be used as a bottle stand? There was a round imprint of the base of the bottle there.
If we played a drinking game whenever Dillon sweared in a video, I think this is the video where we all get messed up 😂
The Cask Strength #3 is something to behold. 2 doon the hatch so far.
This was so fun to watch! 😂👍
Bruh 14:32 the look on Jules' face 💀🤣😭
When is the next tequila blind coming??? WE NEED IT!!!
I don’t know about the 25 but I have two Gordon and McPhail, Highland Park 19 9527-year-old. I’m waiting to open but will probably be a while. It scored pretty high from what I read
Diamond Dillon cuts deep
Amazing - now I got to go out and try it/buy it
Shiney Dillion is the best form of Dilllon.
Funniest episode lmao diamond Dillion please comeback soon
Of course the jacket cuts, its made out of diamonds 💎 . After all diamond is at the top of Vickers test 😅
Diamond Dillon has to come back….OFTEN
Thinking about getting black arts for 450 it’s like 250 off right now
Diamond Dillon is the best clickbait
D-bag Dillon kinda sucks..... 😂😂😂
They finally fixed the beginning intro music being deafening loud?
Glamorous

You're supposed to spit it out, but no way jose
Who was Dillon dissing at the end of the video? I want to know who is stealing their ideas
So, question. Who is the group that stole their idea?
Highland Park drink through?
We did one ages ago - might be worth a re-do though! (it was pretty bad)
ua-cam.com/video/sVUSnHghLtc/v-deo.html
I think Dillon has lost it! It must be the burden of juggling the Mask Singer show and curiosity public!
Unless your prop guy fixes D.D. up with a candelabra you're never gonna grow the channel among the fans of Liberace...what were you thinking?

@paulyoshida1747 very interesting, what do you think of Glenfarclas and Balvenie distilleries?

I hate scotch. I watched for Diamond Dillon, Ditch and Jule.
