To be exciting... and I'm extremely sad to see Nintendo taking this new direction. This is NOT the Nintendo I fell in love with...
@@danielcraig9666 Saying this proves that you know nothing about those consoles and were probably not even alive back then. NES: D-pad Controller: First widely adopted D-pad, setting the standard for console controls. Cartridge-Based Games: Enabled complex, larger games like Super Mario Bros. Lockout Chip: First security chip to control game licensing and quality. Third-Party Licensing: Established strict third-party game development, ensuring quality. SNES: Mode 7 Graphics: First real-time sprite scaling/rotation, creating pseudo-3D effects (F-Zero). Super FX Chip: First console with 3D polygon rendering (Star Fox). Enhanced Audio: First advanced sound chip (Chrono Trigger). Multiplayer Support: Up to four-player support with a multitap, revolutionizing couch multiplayer. N64: Analog Stick: First mainstream use of an analog stick for 3D control, revolutionizing movement (Super Mario 64). Rumble Pack: First console to offer force feedback with a plug-in accessory, enhancing immersion. 4-Player Built-In: First console with four controller ports standard, promoting local multiplayer (Mario Kart 64, GoldenEye 007). 3D Platforming: Set the standard for 3D gaming with open-world exploration (Super Mario 64). GameCube: WaveBird Controller: First popular wireless controller with no input lag and double analog sticks. GBA Connectivity: First cross-platform play with handheld (Four Swords Adventures). Broadband Support: Early online gaming console, offering online multiplayer (Phantasy Star Online). And that's just from the top of my head. Each console set industry standards and trends from controllers to hardware. Back then, and even recently with the Switch, companies copy what Nintendo makes. Nintendo has changed how we control games, how we play them, and how they look and feel starting all the way with the NES. Not only their consoles but also games. It was Nintendo who made consoles and games develop in the way they did. If you lived back in the day, you would know this. Each Nintendo console was mindblowing and brought so many new and never before seen things.
I completely agree with you. Nintendo always shaped the gaming industry from both the hardware and software point of view from the very beggining. It seems like Nintendo is gone together with Satoru Iwata. I guess Nintendo Switch was his last gift for us... If the Switch 2 leaks are true, and it's indeed just the exactly same console but stronger, he wouldn't approve of this console. Rip 😢
@@Simkets D-pad was first on the Game and Watch... Third party licensing is not a Nintendo invention. A lot of those things mentioned could still be implemented internally with little external change. Z-Targeting, for instance, is an in-software implementation. We haven't seen any software yet. Nintendo is good at making budget hardware sing. It's perfectly possible to disagree without attacking something about my person. Quit trying to sound like the smartest person in the room, son.
I feel like this is gonna be another wii u situation, but not as bad. Because the switch's audience is targeted to mostly families and kids, and the switch 2 looks similar to the switch if this is actually real. So that means if lil timmy asks his mom to get him a switch 2 his mom would probably say "don't you already have that at home?"
The problem with the wii U was marketing. People didn't think the Wii U was a Wii, they thought it was an add on to a Wii. If the switch 2 is literally called the switch 2, it would be clear to anyone what it is.
Not really? People understood the difference between the ds and the 3ds. People upgrade their phones every year too so they're pretty familiar with a system refresh. Wiiu was perceived as an addon
@@Blue-fg8vt well I mean, if the leaks turned out to be real, it looks almost identical to the switch, meaning lil timmy's mom won't buy him. (Idk that's just a theory ig)
That comparison photo isn't the switch 2 next to the switch OLED, it's compared to the standard switch, it just includes the black bezels around the screen as part of what looks like a "screen" in the render, pick up and look at your standard switch, it'll make sense
It could be a fakeout. These leaks could have been the beta version but they want to see how the consumers would feel about the switch 2 being an actual switch. Then, after a couple of videos like this come out where people share their exoectations, they'll push for the final A/B design in time for a September 25th direct.
Console's already done, though, so what would be the point of that? They can't change anything about it now, it would be too late. It's gonna be what it is regardless of the "beta" look/design.
I remember when they did the same thing with the Meta Quest 3 and it ended up being exactly the same as the render so when they release CAD Files that means your looking at the final design but just in a render form
If the Wii U didn't sell because people thought it was just a Wii attachment who the hell is gonna buy a Switch 2 when it just looks like a normal Switch?
It's all about marketing. That's what killed the Wii U from the start. The terrible marketing. If Nintendo is smarter now than 10 years ago, then they need to work on marketing this as a next gen console. Adding number next to a model worked for playstation, smartphones and other tech so I don't see why it wouldn't work for Nintendo.
If it is called the Switch 2 or some other kind of destinct name(Nintendo Attach?), then the design does not matter. The WiiU should have been called the Wii2, that would have fixed the issue.
@@lpfan4491 I disagree, another important reason why WiiU failed is that it lacked differentiation from competing consoles, other than the facts that (1) it played Nintendo’s software and (2) it was underpowered compared to competition. (1) was not enough to overcome the marketing disadvantages caused by (2). The Switch fixed this by delivering the differentiation that WiiU lacked: its identity as a hybrid console that you can take on the go. Pair that with Nintendo’s market leadership on software design and you have a sales juggernaut. These are the reasons why Nintendo didn’t shake up the core design of the Switch, other than just upgrading it and giving it a bigger screen. Why would Nintendo abandon a winning strategy? It wouldn’t.
@@KittysCat-j7x I am fairly sure those two will be the same two "differenciating factors" that the Switch 2 will have, nothing more. You are both saying that the WiiU's issue was not being diffrent enough from the Wii, yet Switch 2's advantage is not being diffrent enough from the Switch?
In terms of the d pad, they should make a bunch of different styles of joy cons. One has d pad, one has buttons, one has touch, etc. that way we can SWITCH out the joy cons to how we want to play a certain game. This also fits the name of the “Switch” pretty well.
Hot take, but I think the people who want another console that is essentially a Switch with better specs are mainly people who game regularly. Casual gamers tend to steer to the side of wanting a console that is new/innovative. Nintendo usually is able to cater to both audiences more or less. I'm really hoping the next console isn't just a better Switch, as I don't think I would be able to justify the purchase as someone who already has a Switch with lots of fun games. What are others thoughts on this?
... How is this news? These "leaks and rumors" haven't changed for like 3 years.. if it's actually new, THEN make a video. I'm tired of people milking the exact same info 10 times and MAYBE adding one detail to justify this over abundance of the same damn info, it's ridiculous..
Most people don't know this because Nintendo hid it on the stock zoom feature when you double click your home button but the "bezel" on the OLED model isn't a bezel at at all, it's part of the actual screen that's just wasted space. If you play the game Snowrunner it has a zoom feature when you touch your screen and it exposes this fake bezel.
I wonder if the new Joy-con button is a "community" button, which linked with the new microphone, gives you access to chat/party settings etc. Or maybe Miiverse 2!!
my hope for the switch’s successor is that they come in colored options like the switch lite, and yeah while there’s stickers or decals and unofficial customization you can do to a switch as is, i miss when they weren’t afraid to make family consoles be bright red or even back to the era of transparent jelly-like colors of previous handhelds from nintendo. even with the wii on launch there were at least 2 colors to choose from but even the OLED model switch that sports white joycons and a white exterior on the dock doesn’t have a matching white exterior on the back of the system. i just want nintendo to be fun again and i think my sentiment is shared with a lot of others!!
The only thing that leaked are renders that some random person made in blender based on "leaked specs" , so we have nothing yet dont know whats the point of these videos spreading more missinformation
Am I the only who’s concerned that the successor looks too similar to the predecessor, I know these are leaks and haven’t been confirmed by Nintendo but if this is true, this shows that they learned nothing from the Wii to Wii U era
The Wii and Wii U didn't look alike though, and that's not what killed them. The Wii U name is one thing that killed them, giving the impression that the gamepad was an accessory for the Wii. That, and no real 3rd party support. System was buggy on launch too.
@@Filotus Ik but I’m saying I think no one will buy the switch 2 if it looks almost exactly like the switch 1. People will just think it’s like a switch pro or some other variant of the switch.
@@Filotus you’re right about that but whenever Nintendo makes a new console based off the predecessor, the successor always sells less than the original. We see this with the nes and snes, the ds and 3ds, and Wii to Wii U

Leaks are part and parcel of the gaming industry. It’s a great way for companies to test the waters without having to ‘officially’ make statements and they are great for hype.
I hope for a few remastered games and some great games for when they launch the switch 2. Here’s a few examples of what I think would work out in the long run. All the OG Skylanders(the games will sell and get additional money for the characters to complete everything), SW: The Force Unleashed 1 & 2(it be a good game if it gets rated 18+), and a remaster of heart gold/ soul silver but you can travel to every region(the game could start out with 1-4 regions and release dlcs to add more regions).
Looks like a "Switch U". Oversaturated market with consoles that look alike. Most people that would have bought the new one will just opt to buy the older cheaper one, since there is no clear difference, bedides specs.
Small potential error I noticed: The "charging port" on the top looks to me like it isn't as wide as a usb c port. In fact, it almost reminds me of a kensington lock??? I'm not really sure what it could be but it really doesn't look like usb c to me...
I know this is mostly unrelated, but I want to talk about something I hope for Switch 2. I play MK11 quite often in the switch. Its definitely not the best port on therr, but the actual game itself runs perfectly, except for in a single stage in the whole game. My hope is that, while the over visual quality may not improve much, or at all, if the game can at least run 100% like the other consoles, I have a feeling that will open many windows for way more potential games to potentially get ports for the switch. I think most of us already know this, but I wanted to mention it personally.
To me, with a great system like this NS2, it’s early free press because everyone is sharing it and posting about it! The same cannot be said about the PS5 Pro.
TLDR: Mass Production Leak Concern: The narrator expresses concern that once mass production of the Nintendo Switch 2 begins, leaks become harder to control. The fear is that production workers might snap and upload photos. Photos and Specifications Leaked: Leaks from a Chinese forum allegedly reveal production photos, system mockups, and detailed specs that match previous shipping manifest leaks, including 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, dual fans, and HDMI 2.1 support. Joy-Con Design and System Size: The new Joy-Cons appear larger, with more prominent SL and SR buttons, and the system itself seems taller and sleeker than the original Switch. Credibility of the Leaks: While some think the images may be faked, they could be based on information from accessory manufacturers, lending them some credibility. Even sources like VGC suggest the design aligns with what partners were briefed on. Growing Anticipation: The Nintendo Switch 2 is one of the most anticipated pieces of tech, with leaks expected to increase if Nintendo delays the official reveal. A potential reveal is speculated for early October.
I've a feeling it will already be severely underpowered on launch. Even the steam deck, asus ROG Ally and other are beginning to show their age, just hope it can be powerful enough to run their AAA exclusives like Zelda, Pokemon at a decent playable state like 60FPS 1080p this time around... For the other non-exclusive indies and AAA games, steam deck paired with Steam Link to a powerful gaming PC is the way to go. Unless nintendo does something crazy like supporting Steam Remote play app (who am I kidding lol)
It is Nintendo, it will always be underpowered. But really, nobody quite cares about the actual power as long as stuff is decently playable. Not like the most powerful plattforms on the market are doing much currently that last gen couldn't, other than strongarming Minecraft Bedrock to perform well.
Well, I would love to have played Zelda ToTk on one of those most powerful platforms, just looking at videos of how buttery smooth and gorgeous it looked in the emulators, makes me wish Nintendo still launched a dedicated powerful hardware separate from the portable one...
@@slaynnyt8130 There is a shot that Switch 2 will be able to play it at full speed with good resolution. The Switch 1 is already capable of getting close when modded to full overclock.

Since the Switch has been out for years, they still haven't been able to give us themes, not including just the two, but themes like they did on the 3ds.
Ah, yeah, figured that it was SDcard. I was hoping they'd go the route that Steamdeck went and allow SSD's, but SDcards have been working out for Nintendo since the Wii. I mean they're not too bad. I'm gonna have to figure out what's in my budget for SDcards, if I should just go for 1TB so I don't easily run out of room like I did with the Switch.
It would be a bit disappointing if this is real because it means we're basically getting the same console as last time. But I also trust Nintendo to make it interesting somehow, so we'll see how it turns out
things that i NEED the switch 2 to have: - camera and mic - themes - streetpass and mii plaza - more games involving miis - actual mii maker app - soundtracks for system home menu, settings, mii maker, etc. - miiverse - swapnote - eshop music - characters such as the lil eshop bag guy - FIX THE ESHOP LAG PLEASE. AND GET RID OF THOSE WEIRD H*NTAI GAMES. PLEASE. - the switch 2 overall just needs more life and enthusiasm to it. i want it to be like the wii u and 3ds!!!!
If this is true, then it's not surprising anyway, except the magnets. It's already disappointing to me, and they're going to have to sell me on how this all gets used and the software. I am holding out hope for Streetpass and the personality of past systems coming back, but from this perspective, what I can't help but see is a move like Sony and Playstation, except right now Nintendo has been behind. Next time, they might be taking small steps, and I'm not excited about that idea. They better show me why any of this is actually to be preferred over the Nintendo Switch and have more to talk about than graphics and performance. I could see the mic, extra USB-C slot, and extra button having something to do with streaming.
What if...the top port can be used for something else, not only charging??? What if... Nintendo did not create accessories yet, or they are creating them now?
Hardly a nightmare for them. It's creating a good buzz. Personally I prefer to hear about it from a leak first, without the commercialized angles and edited footage with cringey actors.
If the Switch's Successor or Upgrade look anything like the thumbnail I could believe it's real, specially cuz it brings the color buttons on the joycons which have been returning on the recent nintendo game releases and remakes like Paper Mario TTYD and the new Mario and Luigi Game.
they CAN do a D-pad: just keep it as 4 separate buttons, except they'd join at the center. not connect, but instead of round shapes, use rectangles, and on the inner side, a sort of triangle so the center makes a cross, and a button on each side

All I want is the 3ds charm back.
This is not a Switch 2! ....This is a Switch XL model. ;)

@@queen3333___ yea the made a whole console abt that

Hopefully not but, you are correct the irl photos have nothing hard to fake on an OLED
It could be a fakeout. These leaks could have been the beta version but they want to see how the consumers would feel about the switch 2 being an actual switch.
Then, after a couple of videos like this come out where people share their exoectations, they'll push for the final A/B design in time for a September 25th direct.
It could be different but I wouldn’t expect the final design to be drastically different than this
@@ActualAero I agree. This is probably it for the most part.
Console's already done, though, so what would be the point of that? They can't change anything about it now, it would be too late. It's gonna be what it is regardless of the "beta" look/design.
No more information or you’re liable to get sued

this is a fake elak anyway.
Official just gives it away that the account is fake
I remember when they did the same thing with the Meta Quest 3 and it ended up being exactly the same as the render so when they release CAD Files that means your looking at the final design but just in a render form
Yes. That's what a render is
These were already confirmed fake though

Hope those analog sticks are still modular and replaceable/repairable. Or they just use superior analog sticks that are drift resistant.
Analog is not resistant to drift regardless of how you make them. Only hall effect sticks are.
If the Wii U didn't sell because people thought it was just a Wii attachment who the hell is gonna buy a Switch 2 when it just looks like a normal Switch?
Why fix what isn’t broken? People will come for the games. A better switch is exactly what the majority of customers want.
It looks like the oled switch but for some reason smoother and higher quality. 😅
I wonder if the new Joy-con button is a "community" button, which linked with the new microphone, gives you access to chat/party settings etc. Or maybe Miiverse 2!!
That would be so cool like PS5 party chat, but unfortunately Nintendo doesn't care about you Nintendo fans
Hope we get a web browser of sorts, too. I miss browsing the internet late at night with my gamepad til I fell asleep.
my hope for the switch’s successor is that they come in colored options like the switch lite, and yeah while there’s stickers or decals and unofficial customization you can do to a switch as is, i miss when they weren’t afraid to make family consoles be bright red or even back to the era of transparent jelly-like colors of previous handhelds from nintendo. even with the wii on launch there were at least 2 colors to choose from but even the OLED model switch that sports white joycons and a white exterior on the dock doesn’t have a matching white exterior on the back of the system. i just want nintendo to be fun again and i think my sentiment is shared with a lot of others!!

@Sizeburn if they call it Switch 2 with an 8 inch screen I don't see how people will be confused.
@@Filotus you’re right about that but whenever Nintendo makes a new console based off the predecessor, the successor always sells less than the original. We see this with the nes and snes, the ds and 3ds, and Wii to Wii U
@@Sizeburn that's true, but the Switch is about to be the highest selling system of all time, I think Nintendo will be alright if Switch 2 sells even half the amount or 2/3rds the amount of systems as Switch until they innovate and revolutionize the gaming industry again.
As long as Switch 2 has backwards compat and the ability to transfer saves over to the Switch 2 it'll be good. Otherwise it's just gonna be the 3ds all over again. Beloved console shuts down online for beloved games because new console is out.

I will believe it when Nintendo officially announce it.
If this leak is true, I'm probably not getting the next console. There just aren't enough new features to justify dropping 300 bucks on a shinier version of something I already have. Hopefully there won't be a Switch 3, and instead they'll actually do the Nintendo way: INNOVATE WITH WEIRD CRAP

Stick drift kills me every time
Its garunteed to have it. Its better for Nintendo to have you buy multiple sets of joycon

@@BowserEditz It's not. Newer sticks are better, but they aren't fixed because the type of stick they use is fundamentally flawed. We are on the edge of our seats if they will use better stick types because THAT would be the fix.

I feel like they're going to do it somewhere after Christmas. It would just make sense that they would get rid of the other switches they have left for this year and then get ready for the new console
But when the new games only work on the new console, that is when they will buy
There goes my hope for ergonomic controllers.
Small potential error I noticed: The "charging port" on the top looks to me like it isn't as wide as a usb c port. In fact, it almost reminds me of a kensington lock??? I'm not really sure what it could be but it really doesn't look like usb c to me...

When Nintendo LETS leaks happen like this EVERY time…it’s not really leaks, it’s planned. Or at the very least, free marketing/hype.
The added size isn’t super necessary, I like it when a handheld can slide and fit in a pocket
They can have it be a d pad. It can be used as a single controller if it’s a d pad. I don’t know why people insist on thinking that it couldn’t.
Still no info on if it’s backwards compatible or not. I’m kind of worried it’s not.
I wonder what would happen if you tried to charge it from both ports at the same time.
That extra button is just the release button for the joycon. Atleast for its position
TLDR:
Mass Production Leak Concern: The narrator expresses concern that once mass production of the Nintendo Switch 2 begins, leaks become harder to control.
Bro, did you really use ai to write your comment?

But I also trust Nintendo to make it interesting somehow, so we'll see how it turns out

things that i NEED the switch 2 to have:

- streetpass and mii plaza
- more games involving miis
- actual mii maker app
- soundtracks for system home menu, settings, mii maker, etc.
- miiverse
- swapnote
- eshop music
- characters such as the lil eshop bag guy
- FIX THE ESHOP LAG PLEASE.
