First, we vegetarians don't eat dirt. I don't really know where she came up with that one. Secondly, did you see how she looks today (2019)? It seems all that amazing diet of alcohol, cigarets and stake has done some real damage on her, and she is only 54. But, as she says, she doesn't care. It's her life and she has a right to do whatever, and I do find her outrageously funny at times.

I'm vegetarian and one of my all-time favorite lines was on "Dharma & Greg" - "I am so sick of your veggier-than-thou attitude!" I've told people, "There's being vegetarian/vegan, and then there's being a dick about it." That said, a flip truism a fellow vegetarian told me, "Tell people you're a vegetarian and all of a sudden, everyone is an expert on protein."

I'm a vegetarian,and I don't hate on ppl that eat meat,that's a personal choice,as is being a vegetarian.It's kind of self righteous for us to judge others. My wife is an ominivore..if she wants a hamburger,i'll cook her a hamburger,and eat my vegan burger!

I'm a vegetarian but I would never judge someone for eating meat. I do it simply because I want to take my demand out for meat because we over produce it. Trust me I love a good steak**.

+Maddy Krebs that sounds very nice and all, but in reality it's impossible to not judge the eating habits of another person if you care about animal well being, the only way that someone cannot judge other people eating habit's is when that person simply doesn't care if there's a victim involved suffering unnecessarily, if you're that person then yes, you'd be ok with people eating whatever they want, but if you think it's wrong to do to to others than can feel just like you what you wouldn't like someone else to do to you then , you wouldn't be making sense if you then accept that by saying that people can eat whatever they want and it's perfectly fine, you'd be a walking contradiction.
Vegetarians tend to refrain from moral judgment primarily because ethics really doesn't factor into a decision to consume dairy and eggs, which happen to be the worst products as a measure of suffering. If you sat down with a group of dog fighters or people whom enjoy the kicking of dogs to relieve stress, would it be fair to judge their behavior as wrong? I think that it's safe to say that you wouldn't treat them as moral equals and you shouldn't. One can respect the dignity of a person without respecting a person's beliefs and values

@laarana I understand variation. In fact, I was the rare kid who liked broccoli with or without cheese sauce. And, honestly, her joke about having a hotdog for dessert is quite excessive. Just so you know, cow was just an example. I could not stand just one meat choice on an on-going basis. And , thankfully, I haven't had to, yet.

Supplying food on the tables of billions! NOTHING senseless about that! I don't go for the blatant mistreatment of animals.. Any processing place that runs their business like that needs to be stopped or changed to reasonable standards, but not to a freaking daycare center, either!. After that, it's, "HELLO burger"! You do realize that if all these animals we eat every day were just left to go run amok, they would end up being slaughtered for overpopulation very soon! You know that right? These billions of animals don't naturally run amok; they are brought into existence through planned artificial insemination. Stop buying animal products and the businesses have no revenue and justification for continuing their unprofitable operations. It's unlikely that the world will go completely vegan over one natural life cycle for each respective species, but if we did, it wouldn't cost much to invest in sanctuaries to allow them to live out their full lives without bringing more into existence. Millions of people used to popularly sanction slavery, racial segregation, patriarchy, and medevil capital punishment too; but billions object to such practices todat. Veganism is a cause worth fighting for because it's central to combatting climate change, resource depletion, human health care, and a violent ethos. I'm sorry that exposing a factual reality inconveniences you. Say that I enjoy the taste of your flesh. Should I be immune from criticism simply because I have a taste preference for human ignoramuses? What's your take?

@laarana I do, however, have a limit to what meat I will eat. For the most part with rare exception, I eat beef, chicken and pork. I only eat meat that is either domesticated or abundant. I never understood why people have to drive species, like the Dodo for example, to extinction just to satisfy their appetite and I won't participate in that.
Oh, yes... gotta love those people who are not only vegetarian, but make the biggest fuss at restaurants over butter, cheese, eggs, flour... anything else on God's green earth...

@DarkPegasus87 I'm a vegetarian married to a non vegetarian...she eats what she wants,i eat what i want.I don't think i'm any better than anyone else for the food choices i make. If my wife wants a regular hamburger,i'll cook a regular hamburger,and eat my vegan burger right alongside her.I do think cheating on a spouse is *way* worse than eating meat.I don't try to convert anyone to my eating style,bc it's my choice,and my life.It'd be a dull world if we were all the same.

@laarana I know that, but I still can't appreciate it completely. Like she said: She doesn't say anything when they order what they order but they ALWAYS have to complain about her choice. I hate how people of non-morality related mindsets have to convert others to their beliefs and eating meat isn't immoral, so leave it be. I just hope vegans don't really hold eating meat worse than cheating on a spouse. I saw that depicted once and I really hope it isn't true.

I've never heard a vegetarian bring God into their guilt tripping, but the Bible has a list of what animals you can eat and which you can't, so...
If he didn't mean for us to eat cows, why isn't beef like Caribou? A person will starve to death with a full belly of Caribou because it doesn't have enough nutrition for us to break even, as it were. Why does it sustain us if we weren't meant to eat it?

@@davidmacdonald8882: You know what isn't my opinion: The bible says that humans and animals are enemies. It is written that humans are to eat animals in Genesis 9:3. Technically, caribou is included, but it can't be all of our diet. Logically, it makes a good filler for a diet since you will starve if you only eat it, but my argument was for the vegans who try to use the "God didn't approve" guilt-trip.

The point I was trying to get to is... You need variation in diet. We can live without cow. A meat only diet is one that'll dig your grave at a faster pace... Are we on the same page? : )) My brains are a bit scrambled at this tick in time.
