Decided to make this howto video since i could not find a good removal video on the internet. Hope this helps some fellow bikers to tackle their removal / modification for the DB killer.
I went for the DB killer cut because of the sound and police troubles in my country. With this modification the exhaust sounds nice and not too loud and when the police show up we can tell them the DB killer is fitted. Please take note that there is no return once u cut off the DB killer and i am not a master mechanic! this is just me doing what i think is right.
The sound timestamps:
Normal exhaust with DB killer 00:30
Exhaust with test for modification sound 00:11:20
Exhaust without DB killer 00:11:45
Exhaust with DB killer modification 00:13:55
Tools for the job:
6 mm drill + drilling machine
22 mm socket
torx 30
Pliers
Metal tube / rod with minimum length of the exhaust
hammer
saw / grinder

I just got mine on the bike and tough the db killer cant be removed so its nice to see it can be done, altough i noticed you dont have a cat in between the exhaust and pipes thats why its maybe a bit too loud without the db killer.

I removed mine a year ago since I done few long trips each one for 5 days and after day 3 the noise was getting annoying for me and for my 5 pals riding with me . Is great for short rides or for when you use the bike on a daily basis but not long hour but if you touring I suggest put it back that’s something I will defo do next time . In another video someone says that aparently removing it make the bike loss BHp but to be honest never notice 😁 . I will cut it and put it back as you did and see if will make difference 😀

does the carbon layer stil fit on it after using the lock nut ?

I try to get the exhaust off, my tire is in the way. Any instructions? :)

How badly in the way? My tires were brand spanking new so it should fit! If not and you feel comfortable losening your rear wheel you can slide it further to the back and the exhaust should come off

@@rawrchicken008 It’s very close…it’s dark outside now. I will try it again tomorrow. Maybe I have to pull it a little bit up?
I‘m not really comfortable with screwing of the back wheel 😅

@@brandonb3049 maybe the cat is in the way, i had no cat insert so that might be a/the problem. If the pipe on the right is flexible, it might move enough
