can't tell you how excited I am to have my bike run mint like this. I had all the same issues. got my gaskets, got my jet kit, now im gonna make a few mods. also considering the rk tek head. Im having pretty bad detonation so first I will see if the jetting and mods can clean it up
u even tried the fundamentals first? sparkplug, coil wire and such? good luck tho. just try do things properly, maybe ask friends or dads mates for knowledge/experience with just mechanical know how.. physical with hands and theory. good luck tho ps.. if ur engine's getting over heated, due to leanness, u need to go up in jet sizes to flow/cool with fuel. maybe/probably you also want to (if not havent already) check'd over ur water circulation and condition, control the pump working properly, and if engine always been like this - bought it used? u want but cant always believe the former owners info ur given. if having TPI/TBI u maybe want someone checkwith computer if u personally doesnt have access to ECU. If it has been running lean or hot for any "longer" period of time u'd rly wanna check for other damages as well, in bore and such.. 2 stroke ye? check oil for debris (on 4 stroke u'd also check filter by cutting it up).. well, best of luck to you.. also, hope u concidered what higher compression will have for an impact on engine and what measurements u want to take.. hope u at least u will tell next buyer whats up if u sell. if asking a fair price, its the fair thing to do. even if its basically against standard practices today, sadly. hope u dont go spend 1k on some orange ECU or w/e..... and if u have a TPS bike or such, check the sensor so its not gotten lose or changed position.
if ur not even able to research this topic and find pics outside YT comments i wouldnt go near the carb if I were you. not with any sharp (or dull tool). practice on some wood after you learned some fundamental thinking of your own. when stringing a thought from a to b without any brakes, congratz - u leveled up to practice with dull tool on wooden plank.
