The very same people that say k20a3 not build worthy are the same people that build b18b1s and d16y8s lol. I’d rather have a low end k series build than any other series motor. The k20a3 is not much off from the a2. The head has a little more compression and the block has oil squirters and an oil cooler.
What about reducing the mass of rotating assembly’s inside the engine. Lighter crank, light pullys, delete everything that doesn’t have to be there, light flywheel.

Sorry to bring up questions on an old video mate. Just wondering if in the case I put K20A2 Pistons on the stock K20A3 Rods, would it need to be tuned to compensate for the added compression? If so that kind of eliminates the point of being a budget build. I'm just aiming for a little bump in hp so i'll be sticking around the 230-250hp range.

I'm the second owner of this Si Previous owner left it @ 187,000 mi I have replaced the knock sensor, vtec solenoid , the alternator , one coilpack, sparkplugs , the entire front end suspension, bushings, rodends , ball joints , the engine needs a valve adjustment , but it runs perfectly fine .
@@christopherrogers8316 I am starting to believe this car is reliable like you say . , clutch still chirps second gear lol , I think it's long overdue for a shop manual suggested valve adjustment but the engine sounds and runs perfectly fine to me ,my only concern is the gas milage this 10% ethenol gasoline is total garbage for these older H ondas . I still say Honda should have made this 02 Civic Si a six speed seriously , love this car it has its quirks and it's not common to see like other civics . It sure is not the fastest but it's good enough for me I have a heavy foot and I drive it hard .

VHB Engines so can i put the a2 head internals on a bare a3 head? I have some stripped threads on my a2 so im looking at other options rather than having it machined.
So I can Just bore out my cylinders and put higher compression pistons in my a3 and that's it? I am in the 200 horsepower range?? Me and my grandpa are going to be rebuilding an k20a3 and I told him if I am going to be rebuilding I want to upgrade what is your suggestion

forged rods for the a3 crank are few and far between and EXPENSIVE AF!!!

you MUST replace rings! bearings depends on condition/desire same as timing chain

You only need to overbore if there's damage. Make your choice after you've watched all the a3 videos

no. ive seen one loaded with premium parts and only hit the 170's...porbably even mentioned it in the video
