I love an EP3 I'm a massive fan of your build. Your channel is what convinced me to buy mine in the end. When I got mine I fully intended to modify it but with how much I enjoy it stock and with how few miles it has on the clock (under 46k!) I've left it alone.
That is so wild man! I am glad it has lived up to how I made it come across on videos. Thanks! Jheeze, I can see why you haven't done anything with it!

@@OllyRoss I got it mapped by Romain on your advice and I have not been disappointed! It is a total game changer right?! So impressed with the power in 1st and 2nd gear now specifically but more power everywhere. I've gone for haltech elite so still having some fun setting up launch control and shift lights myself and want to get oil and coolant sensors in next - the OEM temp gauge doesn't work with Haltech so have got no idea how hot she is (Romain did however set a Rev limiter to 3k if coolant overheats so should be safe). It depends what you are using the car for really? For a daily, I wouldn't recommend them as they use more fuel and low speed drivability isn't the best. If it is just a fun weekend car, I reckon it is worth it. You won't see much, if any power gain but the throttle response and the noise will be INCREDIBLE!
Nice video dude ! as a non Honda owner looking to dip his toe into buying one with little car modding experience , this is a great informative video :)
Man. On my 250k mile EP3, I'm just wondering when I'll find the time to address all the normal wear and tear items. Hopefully this summer, but I've been saying that for the past 5 years. Best stock car I've ever owned, just keeps going.
That is pretty good going man! They love to carry on going! Probably worth looking into the perishable bits though. They could cause you more problems in the future if you don’t start ticking them off. Such a great car though isn’t it!? Smash its head in and it still works perfectly
I recently purchased a work truck, so that is my daily now,my EP3 si is now on jack stands, not to stress myself I begun the tear down in sections, like a big puzzle, a little at a time, once u begin u start picturing the light at the end of tunnel...trust me once u start you'll feel glad u finally started
@@randyluna8472 yeah, can't wait. Got about every common leak going on and I know one (maybe both) of my CV boots kicked out grease a long time back. Greetings from Indiana, you have a beautiful Honda. I’ve tuned my 8th Gen Civic Si, and added a Catback Exhaust and AEM Cold Air Intake and you’re right it transforms the Car.
@@hondahondahonda5964 my plan is to either swap the full A2 cylinder head on or swap just the cams and make a vtec killer. Much cheaper than swapping the whole engine
@@dominicrichardson5546 I’d probably start with cold air induction my type s has a decat Toyo 421 and it makes world of difference next for me is the induction then eBay special splitter and skirts just for looks I guess it’s all about budget really but tbh type s is a good car I have switched out the seats and brakes stuff like that and it’s a type r on a budget hahaha 🤣
@hondahondahonda5964 I've already got a tegiwa intake as I found one cheap on FB, might do exhaust but I don't want to be a stereotypical loud honda guy.
So I got excited before doing research and bought the spoon down pipe and exhaust is there a way to get 3 in headers and keep the spoon cat to make gains
The short answer is no... however, I am pretty sure the Spoon header has no cat in it, it's just a resonator. I don't think the 4-2-1 will make too much difference though. Adding a 3" cat back would probably be enough to see gains. Each exhaust port of K20 cylinders is 2" I believe.
No lightened flywheel or final drive? I have a CL7 Euro R with these and wakens the car up!! Still to map it and get exhaust and intake etc but might be worth considering. My cars a daily 👍
(I could be wrong here) I don't think you can unless you have something like ITB's. The reason the cross over is so obvious is because Honda mapped in a dip in power at the cross over to make it more obvious, this actually hurts the performance though. Ideally you want it to be as seamless as possible as that is the most efficient which means better performance.
I don't know unfortunately. Motion Motorsport set it all up so I just let them set it to what they think is good. My guess is that it is around 30mm lower.
Mine doesn’t actually pop or flame anymore, that was just one run on the dyno. I believe that it needs to be mapped in if you want it like I had it with my Spoon exhaust. It may do it without a ECU remap if you have a 4-2-1 manifold
I've got most of those things you've suggested except lsd (need a good reason to drop gearbox) and inlet manifold. It's hard to find a good inlet for a decent price these days so it's delaying me from getting a map.
The UK Type R has the K20a2. I am sure it would react well to some of these mods but starting with a base of the a2 would mean you would get better results
