Yes it does doesn't it. Thanks for watching.
Wow! What a find!
It is part of his stable of cool cars. More to come ...
Jeez that roar to life was gorgeous
Thanks for watching. Its pretty bad ass
Those rims are a work of art!
one offs.
1000 HP?! So much power in such a little body!
Indeed. Its hard to keep the rear tires engaged under acceleration. It was a riot to ride in though. Thanks for watching and your comment. Cheers!
Is f[or sl)l
It is crazy to use any more than 400 of that 1000hp. Gross overkill and useless gross overkill at tht.
I have 600 in a similar car (GD 427 Cobra) and it can spin out its tyre even at highway speed. The biggest issue with this Kirkham Cobra is not just the horsepower but the engine weight, which is huge and the most weight on the front tyre. I had 50-50 percent weight distribution but it can be still hairy sometimes: ua-cam.com/video/W-c0QDV0PKc/v-deo.html (I had only 400 whp when this video made)
Best way to have one!
Thanks for the nudge on the wheel tire combo. I was a bit on the fence, and fighting common sense thanks. 🤘
Happy to help. Thanks for watching and your comments.
The body came from kirkham cobras in utah. Body hand formed in poland
Thanks Jeff!😀
Yes, Kirkham made a deal with the old MIG factory in Poland for them to handcraft the bodies as AC formerly did in the UK. The Kirkham kit is the best on the market and if correctly built would be indistinguisable from an original unless you were an expert. A beautiful car, nice guys, but their knowledge on Cobras does seem a little limited. Incidently, Carol Shelby always wanted to use fibre glass bodies (as in the Corvettes of the time) to gain an even better weight advantage, but Ford would never condone it. I'm currently running a 427 with in excess of 600bhp, it's a huge handful, God knows what 1000bhp in such a light car is like. 😎
Guy Fiery called, he wants you to stop possessing his body. Unless of course, that was in his contract.
Funny. 😜
🚀“Gas mileage shouldn't be an issue if Jeff arranges for a U.S. Navy MQ-25A Stingray refuelling tanker drone delivery. Jeff can prearrange for a refuel at speed and really wow those spectators hanging on with their cellphones to every move he makes with his incredible build!"⛽
Now that is a great idea. Maybe we (him and I LOL) can employ the driving refueling as seen in the movie "Need For Speed". That was epic. But not as cool as the refueling you suggest using the MQ-25A unmanned refueling drone. That would be EPIC. Thanks so much for your cool idea. Cheers! 👍👍
3 mpg sweeeeet! Al that means is this thing is ridiculously fast
I remember seeing this car built at Kirkham Motor Sports, in Provo, Utah.
That's pretty cool.
Beyond insane.
Yup!
Dude I see that you can AFFORD SOMETHING LIKE THAT ESPECIALLY THE MPG 😮 WHAAAAAAATS
Hi Billy. Thanks for watching and your comment. Yup, MPG is a definite issue. 😜
So it's a kit COBRA. Thought it was a real COBRA with custom engine. Would be a 7 figure car. Beautiful COBRA!!❤❤❤❤
Well it's not a kit, it is a Cobra manufactured by Kirkham, who are licensed Cobra builders.
@@musclecarswitheric I dont know anything about them. Sorry if Im wrong. Does that mean they bought the license and plans from Carrol Shelby to build them? That would make sense to me then. Have to do some research. Thank you for that info.
@@ctdope You are welcome. They have been around for awhile. Here is their website: www.kirkhammotorsports.com/. Unfortunately it isn't a link but at least you can google that to get you some more cool information. Thanks again for watching and your questions and comments.
@musclecarswitheric I actually checked Google after my response. Their site info says they build a replica, which I guess isn't the same as a kit, probably because if they have the license to do so, then it's 100% reproduction, they say replica, instead of kit. They sell from 120 to 150k. I cant afford it, but its cheaper than buy an actual original COBRA for North of 7 figures. Still a beautiful car.
@ctdope Right on!. It is always good to get accurate information. Thanks for the great conversation and information. Cheers. 👍😎
That rod is wicked to the max!
Hi Max. Yes it is. It was a riot to ride in as well. This guy has many other very cool cars including a rare Barracuda. Thanks again for watching! Cheers.
@@musclecarswitheric is it floor s sell
@@justingriffith2991 no. It is not for sale
If you were getting 3 MPG and you increased it to 4 MPG, that's a 33.3% increase, not a 25% increase. Your increase is based off the original MPG, not the final.
His car - his math.
That start fck me up lol , sound like some plane 💀like P51 or others types💯👨⚖️👨⚖️🤣
It sure does.
Car has big ballz. Nice choice on engine. Id probably go with a turbo charged Noonan hemi for all out monster. But your choice sounds amazing
Hi Mike. thanks for watching and your comment. Interesting idea regarding a turbo charged engine. Cheers! 😎
This thing has to be a handful to drive
The owner says it is. The clutch is a heavy duty clutch as you can imagine.
Kirkham Cobra is hand made from a olf Mig factory in Poland NOT Shelby’s America. This guy have no idea whats he talkig about
And the people that built the cars in 1965 are still building them today, they are all in their nineties and some of them are over a hundred years old.
Kirk ham buys this aluminum bodies
Impressive
Love this thing.
Thanks for watching Noah. Yeah, this car is truly bad to the bone. 😎
"cool story bro"... and Im not being sarcastic.
My colour of my Ford Mk1 escort is British racing green because my daughters wanted it too be that colour.
: )
Hi Steve. Thanks for watching and your cool comment. I owned a 1964 Triumph Spitfire in the late 70s. It was British Racing green as well. Thanks again! Cheers
Totally awesome but my 1st car was a 36HP VW Bug. No way could I control 1000HP.
Editing comments…it’s cool. 😉
You say tomato, I say tomatoe. Why do you say that? Go out and build something cool like this then share it with the world. Cheers. 😜
It looks nice. But I question the logic of creating something that will be extremely difficult to fix dings and dents. And unless you make it a static museum display it will get dings on the road.
Aluminum is easy to fix with a tig welder.
If you have the money to bulld such a car you don't really worry about some dings and dents. He really doesn't drive it that much but when he does he goes like hell. He has several other cars and trucks all of which he drives. He believes that if you have a car, drive it as it should be driven. Cheers! 👍😎
What’s the static compression ratio and rev limit?
Great question. No idea. I'll ask him and get back with this thread.
I spoke with the owner today. HIs compression is 10.5:1. Rev limit is 6700 rpm. 😎
Thanks! I wasn’t sure if he went more radical than a typical marine motor. I’m a huge fan of putting non-ubiquitous motors in special project cars. Resto-mods with LS crate motors are just so common that there’s nothing interesting about them anymore. I was pleased to see something unique about this build. At least the pump gas compression keeps gas prices lower compared to if he went with a SBC with cup car heads / intake with high compression.
@@seasterl My pleasure. me too. I have a local builder here who does Ferrari engines in American cars. His first build is the Corruptt Mustang.ua-cam.com/video/32aoGVoYSxY/v-deo.html I also have a video of his at at SEMA ua-cam.com/video/GEc4-ipzyCE/v-deo.html I watched this build from literally the ground up. What an incredible car and must have been a blast to go for a scoot. What trans was he using? Awesome video
Thanks for watching. I loved going for a ride. It is quite the head turner. I don't know the make of the trans. I don't think it came up in our conversation either. I will call him right now and ask. He said it is a modified TKO 600. The modification involved shortening the transmission so it would fit.
@@musclecarswitheric I would've loved being a part of that build. From cramming such a massive engine to cutting down the trans to make it fit is pretty intense. Thank you for finding out, much appreciated!
@@SWFabrication. Thanks for watching. The owner is a super cool guy and loves to talk about his cars, trucks, boats and private jets. Yup, He is a gazillionaire but a really cool cat. Anytime you have additional questions about any of the cars here I will do my best to find the answer. Thanks again!
@@musclecarswitheric It must be heavily modified, in my car I also use TKO600 behind a 427 (with 600 ponies) but it is at the limit at the TKO capabilities, and even it is over it a little. I would love to know what modification has made with the TKO
@Janos There are a lot of modifications some of which he neglected to tell me about because I just didn't ask. It took Kirkham two years to fit the engine and transmission into this beast. It is incredible to see in person, let alone to get to ride in it. It has a very small foot box and HUGE side pipes for the six exhaust outlets and collector. Thanks again for your comments and for watching. 😎
All I've got to say is, Elton John's song, "Blinded by the light"! ❤👍🫶

Anything getting 3mpg has alot of power 🔋 😅 she is insane, i prefer it dull so wouldn't polish it 🤠🤠🤘
Its either shelby cobra or an Ac cobra. Not both... shelbys were built in the US, .. AC cobras were built ubln the uk
The chassy came from the AC factory, Shelby just put the engine to it, so it is not a huge mistake, it just sounds lame a little
I will let you debate that with the owner as well as Kirkham, the licensed Cobra builder. Thanks for watching and your "history" lesson. Cheers. 😆
Yeah that's all great and everything but four miles to the gallon I mean that's just a expensive car showpiece
Perhaps. But it is his. Deal with it!
Nice car, if he owns a gas station😢👍
No doubt.
It is a dream car. Now a company fuel card.

Where I live that would cost $301 to fill the tank.
That's gotta suck. right now fuel is 4.65/gal here in the Phoenix area
@@musclecarswitheric
That’s a bargain here in the UK. That exactly half what the cost is here.
@The Chumps been dumped. That has to really suck and hit home in a bad way. Damn. Thanks for watching. 👍
The Cammer would have been a great choice. Why a V12?
Because he found two of these engines and his son suggested he build his car around one. Also, because he owns the only two in existence, no one else can copy his car. He isn't arrogant at all either. He just likes to have one off stuff because he can. We routinely hang out at his hangar where he stores some other muscle cars, rare trucks and a boat or two. He is a former aerospace engineer who found a different niche and path.
Sweet ❤
Hi Joe. Thanks for watching. 😎
Unless your feet are skinny dont expect to clutch and shift without stepping on your feet.

WHY NOT????? LOOK - THIS GUY CAN DRIVE IT. YOU CAN DRIVE THIS CAR. IT RUNS - THEREFORE ITS DRIVABLE.
No. You are in violation of 150 laws for driving this car. And one of them states YOU SHALL NOT HAVE ANY FUN WHILE DRIVING. JOY IS FORBIDDEN.

Not a Shelby nor an AC. It is a bloody kit car. No one ever shows the vin for proof.

Well Pj S. It is not a bloody kit car mate. It is a purpose built Cobra from Kirkham Cobras. Maybe you didn't watch the video and paid attention to what the owner stated. Watch it again. Cheers. 😆

1000hp V12 you know has to be a torque monster.
Torque Engineering is the engine maker. Stock numbers; 1150hp, 1150 torque. Detuned to 1000 hp. 800tq @ 1600 rpm. 😜
He put Baldie covers on it. I thought maybe ford made an experimental engine.
If you increased it 1 over 3, that would be a third, or a 33% increase over the existing number to 4.
So it appears as though this is involving math. Not my best suit but I trust your calculations. LOL😜
👍@@musclecarswithericThanks for the vid.
If it had a 289 hi-po it would still be impressively fast and would handle way better. That motor is pure comedy--the owner turned it into a comedy car. I respect Kirkham cars but this one is too far over the edge to work well.
Yes, but it's cool that one person did it. My dream Cobra would also have a small engine for better handling. Maybe a tuned 1,5 Ford ecoboost 3-Cylinder with 260 HP and almost no weight?

This Cobra originally was built as a one-off by Carroll Shelby with a FoMoCo FE-block 427-cube V8 modified with two Paxton superchargers that made 600+ bhp. A second example was built for Bill Cosby!
The original Cobra was the AC. The first one "Shelby" cobras were 289-ers, later he made some 427, but generally the 289 was a better car. He made two supercherged too, one of them killed its owner. It had 800 hp. (I have a "Gardner-Douglas" 427 Cobra with 600Hp which is way more than enough, and the GD has way-way better handling behavior than the original ones had)

@@johnny427 That example which killed the owner was that very same Cobra first owned by Bill Cosby. That owner who followed, according to history reported by Motor Trend, rolled off a cliff. The owner after Bill Cosby didn't know how to handle the Cobra. The car was rebuilt from the ground up by Brian Angliss. It is the one now converted to the V12 engine as in this video.
