When I mentioned in the video that if Nicole could drive a Monster truck, she could drive anything, I wasn't kidding. She took to the Cobras like a duck to water.
@MrCobraLynnPark Lynn, you have been so kind, so generous with your time. We cannot thank you enough for allowing us to make this video, and allowing me to drive your cars. I didn't have any idea what I was getting into walking in the front door of Cobra land, but there was a genuine, punch-you-in-the-gut wall of greatness that hit me when I was in that vestibule. Your authenticity, your stewardship, and your personal history are unmatched. Plus you're funny! I love that you're always optimistic!!! Thank you for becoming my friend! Much love to you, Susie, Steve, Tim and Amy from all of us at Detour!!! ❤️
@@NicoleJohnsonsDetour Nicole I've never ever cried let alone felt this much emotion in a UA-cam video. The moment you and Lynn drove the 427 I just wept like a baby. Lynn is truly a legend and to you my deepest respect for how you portraited this awesome moment that is now forever captured for us to enjoy. Thank you both immensely.
at 70 years old now I have had a great appreciation of the Cobra and especially Carol Shelby since I was a little guy back in the early 60's. Thanks for being the curator you are Lynn and having two great sons to carry on with your mission. Thank-you too Nicole for showcasing this amazing family and their wonderful collection. Whew!
That must have been a great day for Nicole. I still remember being shown the Pfeifer's CSX3282 in a small little garage in BC shortly before it was sold to Lewis Hamilton. It made a lasting impression on me. I can't imagine what it was like for Nicole to see a collection of Cobras. Thank you for letting us see them and hear the history.
I am closer to 75 than 74 years young an I'm sure you have seen/heard many stories like mine but because I am old I ramble so here goes. Sometime in late 1966 my friend and high school buddy got a brand new Cobra with the 427 engine. I don't remember all the detains but I do remember driving that car and will never forget the absolute power of that monster. When I watched I was almost there and I want to thank you so much for your excitement making my old blood boil again. We , my friend and I received our draft notices shortly after and his name ended up on that big granite wall in DC and I made it home alive but a very big part of me and my other contemporaries have the feelings I think the shrinks call it "survivors guilt" whatever thanks for making my day it was great. 🥋🥋
Frank Brocato..Thank you so much for your service to our country!! We're so glad you enjoyed watching this episode and we really appreciate you sharing your memories with us!!
Thanks, & your Service. Interestingly, I am 76 years young: my Friend Dennis Eugene Gest,SP4,FIRST INF, DIED IN 1969 , Vietnam…..I pretty sure he “Chose” USARMY , over *long Jail Term , influenced some by Me ( Intended Career, PURDUE ROTC, 1965-68, SSG, HONOR GUARD, etc.)….Anyways, I had found *affordable FORD , a 1966 GALAXIE 500 XL/ 4 Speed/352/4 BBL, in 1967((* speaking of Shifters, Fords, etc).. Could not afford COBRA, CORVETTES,SUPER Cobra JETS,etc.
That was pretty heart felt post, I really appreciate what you all did for this country and so many people crtique and take for granted. Many dont realize how young most of you were..experiences, things you endured. Stress musta been off the chart! Never knew about the tunnel rats til I saw the show recently. Now that is some scary stuff!! Hats off to you veterans all of ya! Esp on the ones with no roof over thier head everyone ignores.
I love how you were being humble and you could tell you were processing this experience live on camera. I could feel what you were feeling. Thank you for not editing out the emotional aspect of this experience. You guys rock!!
Yes. Cars like this are all about emotion. Even the screaming in terror mixed with joy. The genuine joy when she asked and was allowed to sit in the red 427 was so wonderful see. Most of us will never have the chance to drive one of these cars. Thanks to Nicole, we now have a little taste of what it would be like. It was cool to see the owner's confidence in Nicole as she is driving this very special car that no one else has been allowed to drive. Lastly, it was amusing to hear the owner comment about picking which Cobra to drive like normal people talk about picking which pair of shoes to wear.
Thank you Mr. Lynn Park for granting a dream for Nicole, Thank you Nicole for your humility in recognising the honour you have been granted, and thank you all for bringing this to us, even in the UK. Just Brilliant
Just came across this and want to sat thank you Nicole for your graciousness and also thank you to Lynn and his sons for keeping these National Treasures alive and well.
Nicole your enthusiasm is infectious! Thank you for sharing Lynn's collection, which I may not ever have known about if not for this video. Truly special
Holy crap! The cool factor WAS DEFINITELY off the charts on this episode!!! I was grinning ear-to-ear right along with you Nicole! Lynn is a legend and a cool dude…and kudos to him and his sons for preserving the Cobra story! Probably my new favorite car video. I’ll definitely be watching this again on the big screen!
Best episode! Lynn is the real deal who enjoys his cars and not just a speculator. As usual Nicole perfectly conveys all the thoughts and emotions of experiencing a Cobra.
This was an unbelievable video for me to watch. Driving an original Shelby Cobra has been on my bucket list for the last 35 years. I'm 66 now and doubt that will ever happen, but today I had the privilege of riding along with not only you, but Mr. Cobra himself, Lynn Parks. Thank you so much for posting this experience, I can only imagine the thrill you had surrounded by all those beautiful machines. Had to subscribe.
Me too. Same age. I've wanted to own a real Shelby Cobra since 2nd grade. (seven years old) Of course, I never will, nor will I ever get to drive one. I guess I'll settle for watching a pretty woman drive one. It's ok. Sad, but okay.
Years ago a friend let me drive his 427 Cobra around Gingerman Raceway in South Haven, MI as well as as one of the first 3 '68 L88 Corvettes to roll off the assembly line (originally sold to James Garner Racing). No, I was not able to push them as one I was terrified of hurting them and two I was strictly forbidden. The raw power of those cars is still impressed into my very being to this day even after almost 40 years.
@@NewswithJakenator Apparently in 1967 Bill Cosby purchased a Shelby Cobra Super Snake CSX 330Cobra and he was mortified by the sheer power it possessed, "Cosby became so unnerved during a test drive that he returned it immediately."
@@bobstuckrath1805 It seems like I have heard this story before and it wouldn't surprise me. When that Cobra came loping through town at 20-25 mph you felt it before you heard it. The L88 unfortunately had a small block in it as the original 427 had a cracked block. My friend sold it to a collector who evidently had 1 or 2 of the 3 original Garner cars. I miss those days.
I reached out to Lynn a couple of years ago for some pics of El Cid roof and bubble for a 289 drag snake replica and he was such a gent to help me out. Allowing Nicole to drive his cars is a true indication of his kind and helpful nature to let people experience the history and feel of these awesome cars. I tip my hat Mr Park!
The Parks are a class act and very humble. People only see the $ signs with these cars and don't realize he has been into these cars since they were new, along with the times when they weren't' nearly as expensive as they are now. Lynn, Steve, and Tim are some of the nicest down to earth people you will ever meet. Thank you Nicole!
UNREAL! Mr. Park and his sons gave us all a special treat by making this episode possible. For them to share their time, their cars and their fun in such a generous way is a wonderful contribution to enthusiasts worldwide! Thank you to the entire Park family!!! As for you, Nicole, and the amazing crew at Detour...HELL YES! It is so awesome to continue to ride along with you gals and guys as you share these unique experiences with us! Thank you so much for yet another incredible episode! Keep kicking ass and bringing us a way to feel the ride, even if it's just through our television and computer screens!
I love Lynn Park's attitude towards his cars and it is so great that his sons share his enthusiasm. This was another wonderful video, done in a very classy manner. Great job Nicole! You and your team are the best.
I am not a Ford man but I am a cobra and gt40 fan. I am the owner of a pontiac fiero gt, 2,500 lbs with 135 hp .I do like sports car's. What a family and a car collection. Thanks for sharing.
Once again, Nicole your enthusiasm precedes you and pulls all of us along on a wonderful immersion into the Cobra. Your ability to connect with the Parks as well as the essence of the Cobra is uncanny. As someone who grew up in the 60's watching these wonderful machines from a distance, I thank you for letting us sit in the driver's seat with you!!! What a wonderful ride!
What an amazing experience!!!! Many thanks to the Park family for sharing these incredible vehicles with all of us…. Each episode gets better and better!
Growing up in Suburban Detroit I had 2 memories of the real Cobras. 1 was a Ford Dealership on Woodward Avenue in Royal Oak. In the showroom were 2 cars, a 427 Shelby Cobra and a Ford GT. Wow!! A few years later I was at an Autocross called a Gymkhana back then and everyone had their sports cars and corvettes etc... In drives a truck with a Cobra on a flatbed. Just like a gunslinger out west, the guy backs it down, gets on the course, blows everyone's time away and drives back on to the trailer and drives off! No shit it was awesome! Oh yea and Nicole rocks!!
@MrCobraLynnPark, Just curious what your thoughts are on the 69 and 70 Ford Cobras, before they went under the Torino name. I assume you know that they started as stand alone Cobras, known only as Ford Cobras in 69, the addition of 'Torino' came in around December 1969. Early build 70 model year Cobras did not have any Torino badging, these were added in 1970. Are these cars the last true Ford Cobras?
Wow what a collection. The 289 was always one of my favorite cars. When I was a kid Carroll Shelby lived down the street and would drive exotic cars down our street. Everyone was driving 50’s Chevys and here comes Carroll in a lime green Lamborghini Mura. I talked my dad into taking me to the factory in El Segundo which is still a fond memory. Side note, as kids we would skateboard down Carroll’s driveway into his garage when the house was being built. It was a nice steep drive.
As a younger man growing up in the ealy 1980s I owned two 69 Chevelle's & a 72 429 Torino, one Chevelle remained stock it was a 375/369 4.11 gear ,rectangle port head motor ran a 13.20 the other a 468 with all the fixings, bullet proof lower, 3500 stall converter, everything gone through that car ran a 10.20 1.2 60 foot etc. anyhow the sound of the cobra brought me back, i miss that sound and having that horsepower just under foot. yeah it's too cool i miss it
Truly an incredible episode! You seem to effortlessly capture the essence of each car and their owner you interview! Thank you for providing another incredible experience!!!
Nicole - I used to watch Leno’s Garage but lost interest about a year ago. Saw the first of your episodes (the Daedalus) last week, and binged every other video you guys have put out into the world. Your honest enthusiasm for trying the vehicles out, and the pure joy you evince for each experience is truly delightful to watch. In this one, the reverence you have (the delightful “wow”s) shines through the entire episode. Thanks for sharing these experiences with us, and I’m vexed that I have to wait an entire month to see the next one.
Jay Leno, as awesome as he is, has to be one of the most boring car reviewers of all time. For example, when he rings a 800+hp supercar to redline, his reaction is usually something like "it scoots right along" or "decent power" and thats it.
Reminds me of the first time I drove an early Viper when I worked at Chrysler. All I could do was smile, then I took a few friends for a ride and they couldn't believe the power, the sounds and smells from an open cockpit. Great coverage of a superb car and memorabilia collection and the very down to earth owner!
This was amazing. I don't think I'd leave that garage. Thank you for this. My dad and I got to meet Carroll Shelby years ago. I never realized how much he meant to my dad until after when I saw him tear up about it. Shelby left this world a better place.
You are my new hero! I'm 70 years old and because of arthritis probably couldn't get in or out of one, but I lived it through your reactions. Thank you!
I love at the end of the video when she is driving the 427 and they show it from above as she is shifting and inbetween gears you see simultaneous puffs of smoke puff out each side pipe! what a freaking awesome car!
Holy Moley, I had no idea a collection of Shelby Cobras like this even existed. I'm not that much of a car guy, but even I recognize what a historically significant collection Mr. Park has amassed. Driving one?; if the phrase "creaming your jeans" was ever appropriate, this was it! Thank you, Nicole and Lynn Park.
Lynn is the coolest person on the planet. Thanks for sharing the ride. I like how he made some of the cars his own while leaving others original. He’s a real enthusiast with a serious collection, that is very much appreciated. Cars are meant to be driven and he does.
Speculator for an investment? Yeah I can see that. Here is the thing. Yeah I would drive no doubt and beat on it when I did. It was made for it. But to really run one hard without worry of sliding off into a pile of tires I would try to avoid that. You have enough to buy a real cobra then you have enough to build a nice Backdraft or a Superformance. And you drive that one with no mercy. I will drive the real one and ring it's neck when I do. But for all our ill keep it running and in one piece.
Nicole, Nicole, Nicole, you made my day ! Today is my birthday, I am 43 and I would never had imagined a better present than this video. I am French and I didn't know Lynn and his wonderfull and incredible collection. Cobras are my favorite cars, watching you driving original Cobras gave me chills and tears, thank you so much to you and Lynn. This video is a perfect exemple why my Christmas presents were one of your hoodies and one of your t-shirts. When I ordered them, I explained to my wife why I am fan of your channel and I wanted to wear your colors: you give us access to incredible cars videos after videos. You blow my mind !
Lucky lady. Raw is a beautiful word to describe them, Beautifully Raw. I watched Geoff Brabham and one of the Duttons drive from Melbourne over to Adelaide in 1985 for the F1 Grand Prix week and fell in love with Shelby Cobra
What a collection of cars and memories. Truly a Cobra historian. So cool that his sons are equally interested to carry on the unique collection. Thank you Lynn for sharing this incredible experience.
I have gotten to ride in one…1 kit Cobra. I don’t know what was more fun to watch. The cars, or the reaction of your humble appreciation of the ULTRA RARE, experience you have gotten to have driving such historical vehicles. I am a 62 year old Ford gear-head. This collection is truly, the Holy Grail of Cobra’s!! It has brought tears to my eyes! INCREDIBLE!!! You!…are one fortunate Lady.
I know I’m late to the party but a comment was made when you two sitting in the red 427. It was about the feel of riding, and/or driving an open sports car that no enclosed (hard top) car can match….that statement is so true with many of the vintage small body sports cars. I have owned MG’s Fiats, an Alfa Romeo and my personal favorite one of the cars I have owned…a Triumph TR-6. When you are driving a car like that you feel like you are part of the area (countryside) you are driving in. In other cars, you feel like you are on the inside looking out (not just a literal statement but a feeling). I also owned a 1991 Mazda RX7 convertible. I never bonded with it, it felt closer to a hardtop to me than a real convertible sports car….AWESOME EPISODE!!
Great episode! The Cobras are awesome on there own, but Nicole, you put it over the top with your genuine, unbridled excitement at not only driving, but just seeing all of the Cobras in that one location. Thanks to you and Mr Park for sharing his passion with us.
I am sitting here with goosebumps all over, and gratitude to you all for this episode. What a relief to know those gems are so well cared for, and by such an amazing man, with his amazing story!!
Absolutely stunning. Mr. Park is a true gentleman, and Nicole was a perfect match to be given the chance to drive his cars. Wonderful, wonderful, video, THANK YOU Mr. Park!
This was truly spectacular to see the joy Nicole took in this video and everyone can see that it was a genuine love shared for these great pieces of automotive history. My only wish is that more people shared the care and friendship shown. Well done to everyone involved in the making, it's been the most worthwhile and uplifting thing I've watched in quite some time. A salute to Mr. Cobra for having the dedication to carry on such a legacy. Again, well done to all that were involved, my hats off to you.
Would be so neat to be able to experience it in person. Thanks for bringing it to our own homes so we can see it through your experience. Take care and stay safe. From Charlie.
Nicole's genuine excitement and enthusiasm for meeting up with Lynn, his garage and getting to drive a couple of the best cars ever built made this the best episode. I had no idea Shelby built the drag cars. El Cid is way cool.
Nicole, this was my favorite episode so far. The Shelby Cobra holds a special place in my heart (427 being my dream car). Aside from the INCREDIBLE vehicles featured (AND DRIVEN!) what makes your show so special is the level of appreciation and gratitude you have for each one of the car enthusiasts you go visit; makes everything genuine and makes us (the viewers) feel as fortunate to get to come along for the experience. Good on ya!
What an amazing experience and Mr. Park is incredibly generous. I have a Superformance Cobra with a 427 Side Oiler built by Southern Automotive with heads from Keith Kraft and I won't even let my wife drive it let alone someone I don't really know. Thanks for sharing your experience and great video.
I could tell you were truly in awe of this gentleman and his collection of drivable cars. The fact that he let you drive when he has not ever let anyone else says a lot about you Nicole.
Nicole, a "no doubter" home run episode!! Thanks to You and the Park family for making this one happen! You are becoming one of the greatest influence-rs that's helping keep the performance car world world rocking. Your humility, sincerity, and classy approach are commendable! *****
@26:53 the common procedure with ultra special engines is to keep them running until exhaust temps are hot. Running just a short time will give hard times for the head gasket and creates a risk of extra soot everywhere due to unoptimal heat. But definedly I'm not critizing. I would've done the same thing because of the excitement and noise. We have 7 old cars and we tell everyone who fires them up to not switch the ignition off before 5 minutes running. Absolutely stunning video, the host and the car collector. Probably the most stunning collection I've ever seen.
My first ride in a cobra was in 1967 in Menlo Park California I was 7 years old, it was a 427 cobra candy apple red. 10 years later in high school at Saratoga high my math teacher had two an original 289 and a 427. What great memories this brings back
That’s is like a lifetime achievement that not many are able to accomplish but there is no one better than Nicole to drive an original cobra someone who really appreciate the car for what it is and not what is worth. An unforgettable experience and once again great episode!
I am currently watching your cobras special. And in my book. There's only one. SHELBY COBRAS. I don't care for vettes except the 63 split window. But Shelbys is where it's at. I will go to heaven loving shelbys . One day I hope to own just a shelby F150. Lord knows to own a original shelby would be a true dream come true. I loved when you fired up dragon snake... I think I saw you leave this world and come right back. Lol. Thank you..
This is one of the few videos that have brought out the feeling of joy in me. Watching your excitement for a truly once in a lifetime experience was fun to watch. Thank you for making this video and sharing this experience!
Wow, just amazing, perhaps the most impressive collection I've ever seen. All three gentleman are a cut of the same spirit and elements of the cars. Nicole, as usual has earned everyones respect, that's why she is special enough to pull this off so eloquently. Thank you all for sharing this with those of us who can only dream....
hello Mrs Johnson, thank you for this video and all the passion that emerges in your comments as well as Mr Parks. I feel the same as you while driving my ERA 427 from 1987, I felt like I was driving next to you. I subscribed to your channel to dream again and again. cordially a fan of France. 0:02
Been friends with Lynn for many years & took a stab at producing a documentary some time ago. But rounding up the testimonials & other interviews never materialized (Shelby passed before I could get his interview, among others,) and the project just ran out of steam. Glad to see someone finally do the definitive bio and had access to actually drive some of his museum pieces. Bravo!
My heart skipped a beat at that first glimpse of the blue cobra just casually sitting there through the open interior doorway. Surreal, at the very least, to partially glimpse such a magnificent, historical, inspiring machine loitering on the other side of an ordinary garage entry way. Almost mystical and paradoxical. I'd think I was dreaming. 😍
I absolutely love the TRUST that Lynn and Steve showed in Nicole. Must have felt pretty great getting to be one of the few people that have driven these awesome rides.
THIS is one of the most absolutely wonderful things I've ever seen on UA-cam. Thank you, Nicole and Lynn for such a beautiful walk down Nostalgia Lane.
What an incredible experience. Mr. Cobra and his family are so genuine. To open their doors to such an unbelievable collection is truly amazing. True enthusiasts at heart.
This is amazing... I'm so happy that there is someone like Lynn to be a conservator of these amazing cars, and I'm glad that there is someone like you that can record and share this experience so well. Thank you!
I saw a drag ready 427 Cobra race a 65 AFX Corvette at Martin drag way in Michigan and was hooked on Cobras ever since. Gladly give up my right arm to have driven that 427 that you had the privilege to drive. Couldn’t stop smiling when you started El CID. WOW WOW WOW. I’m 78 now and still drool over them.
Throughout the whole video, I was green with envy. Watching this one was a learning experience, as I thought I knew a small little tidbit about Mr. Shelby having watched that movie with Damon and Bale plus what I knew from reading magazines throughout the ‘70s. Turns out, I knew even less! Thank you Nicole for introducing us who were unaware that Lynn Park even existed. Thank you Mr. Cobra for allowing us to experience your cars through Nicole! That sound of El Cid when she started the motor will forever sing in my mind!! Thank you again ! Excuse me for a second while I subscribe to this channel…..
I went to his garage! An incredible man and collection! I bought a roll bar for my Devin Special at a neighbors and we went over got the full tour talked about my Tesla model S! An Honor and a memory I’ll never forget! Still can’t believe that garage!!!
Lynn is so cool. I love that he uses the cars as opposed to "making money" off them. A real car enthusiast. I like how he was comfy with you driving... my guess is he knew/felt you were a real car nut-and I am sure many come by his place that don't pass muster... awesome amazing episode and beautiful cars.
Nicole is truly one of a kind. When she told me that she was a Monster Truck driver I knew that driving a Cobra would be easy for her. It took no coaching at all, she just jumped in and took off.
Such a fantastic video Nicole. I’m so glad I found this. Thank you Lynn Park for allowing Nicole to show us your incredible collection and letting her drive your beautiful Cobras. Thank Nicole for letting me live vicariously through you. I could tell that it must have felt like a dream to you and you probably had to pinch yourself to make sure it was really happening. I loved every minute of it!!!❤

What a privilege to meet, drive and feel the history behind the cars. Actually it's the people who really loved to build and drive these cars. Unfortunately, the mass production of the car industry has removed that feeling and everyone sees cars only as a monetary gain. Thank you for reminding us there are still people who carry this feeling like Mr. Cobra and thank you Mr. Cobra for spreading your true love for cars too.
Tears in my eyes throughout the entire video. The world needs more people like Lynn Parks and Nicole Johnson. Priceless!!!... Amazing!!! Thank You Both!!!...
WOW! What an epic episode. Nicole, becuase you are so authentic in you appreciation of these ultra rare classics, and their owners, we get to come along on a truly once in a lifetime Cobra experience. Truly amazing. Thank you!!!
Your show just keeps getting better and better. This is next level! You are the cherry on top, looking more beautiful than ever! Keep up the fantastic work! 👌
It's hard not to share the emotions you felt just watching you experience what every car nut on planet hopes to experience. Just being next to an original Cobra has been a highlight of my life, I touched number one in Vegas and literally cried, because my love of cars started with the Cobra and Mustangs. Thank you for sharing this and thank you Lynn for sharing your collection that in my eyes is second to none.
Thank you Nicole for an excellent video with Mr Parks and for sharing your experience seeing and driving his collection! They are such incredible cars that demand so much respect when driven but the enjoyment of it all is incomparable! Keep up the good work!
Fantastic video. Thank you Nicole for your work in putting this video together and thank you to Lynn for your generosity in sharing these cars with everyone.
When video microphone truly cannot convey the intensity of sound. The sound was compressed down to the level of the preceding audio. I'm sure in person the sound was more felt than heard. Almost no mufflers on that?
As a retired automotive technician and shop foreman of 52 years, my favorite car of all time has been the 427 Cobra, ever since my early teens. Although my 52 years was spent on German cars and the last 36 with Porsche, the Cobra has never fallen from my favor. I couldn't be more envious or happy for you in being able to experience what you have been able to experience. This has to be one of my favorite videos ever and thank you for sharing your incredible experience. Keep up the great work.
Thank you Nichole and Mr Parks!!!!!!!! I consider myself a car guy and never knew of this gentleman. What an amazing share, story, and family. Well done. Brought me a ton of pure enjoyment watching and learning more about Cobra's. Take care Mr Cobra, and thank you for sharing 👏
Oh damn! I’m really, well ……………yeah I few up in Albuquerque and one of the Ford dealerships handled Cobras, my dad took me to see my first one when I was 12-13 years old. Luckily my dad knew the owner of the dealership, I got to sit in it, we looked at the engine 289, crawled around on the floor looking under it. Watching this and remembering those army days brings tears to my eyes. Oh yeah I’m a Shelby fan. I think it was 1966-67 my dad. To me to a race in Fort Sumner, N.M. and there was a guy there in this crazy looking car, not a Cobra, but a Cobra engine and he smoked the ‘vettes and everything else. We talked to him, very nice guy. We also talked to a couple of the Corvette folks, they were not happy but had to admire the car. The kit car Cobras are ok, but a real Cobra is ……… you know.
OMG this gave me goosebumps Nicole! What an epic episode, and what a living legend he truly is! Almost had to replace my new Sony’s, the sound of that Dragon Snake, woah! Keep ‘m coming guys, high-end content, that’s what this is! All the best from The Netherlands 🙏🏼
So good to see these originals being used and driven. Nicole's awe and appreciation were obvious by what she didn't say and the amount of time with just a goofy grin! Such a good episode. Love it, great treatment of my global favourite car of all time. 🚗👍!
I was born on 4:27:1964. In Long Beach. Live in Indiana, 30 miles from the Speedway, my last name is Dixon, Scott is my favorite driver, wish they would stop blacklisting him lately. My last 30 days of Highschool in 1982 in Saratoga California was spent driving around with Chris in his fresh 65 GT350 he got for graduation from his amazing dad. Now that I live around the The 500, its as if I have always belonged here. To race is to live.
What an amazing opportunity! I've been to the Shelby American Collection a couple times now and each time it's awe inspiring. My only complaint is that the cars are (understandably) surrounded by velvet rope. So to get a chance not only to see Lynn's collection up close, but to also drive two of these iconic machines is pretty special. I really appreciate your passion and gratefulness while filming this collection. Great job and thank you for sharing!
When I mentioned in the video that if Nicole could drive a Monster truck, she could drive anything, I wasn't kidding. She took to the Cobras like a duck to water.

Thank you for your service and sorry to hear of your loss and pain, Jesus loves you boss
You guys rock!!
usually shes hilarious, but this car is louder than her. great episode, almost relegious
S Robin ..thank you for watching..glad you enjoyed it!!
@bentandrade5524 ..haha!! Thank you for watching!!
That is a dream drive for most people that love cars. Well said, you could feel her excitement in this video. Great content!!
Thankyou for highlighting my favourite car since I was a young boy. Im 65 now
You're welcome...we're so glad you enjoyed watching!!
Thank you Mr. Lynn Park for granting a dream for Nicole,
Thank you Nicole for your humility in recognising the honour you have been granted,
and thank you all for bringing this to us, even in the UK.
Just Brilliant
Wow, thank you! We're so glad you could share this amazing experience with us!!
Just came across this and want to sat thank you Nicole for your graciousness and also thank you to Lynn and his sons for keeping these National Treasures alive and well.
Thank you so much...we appreciate you watching!
NJ - Your knowledgeable enthusiasm may only be outdone by this family's kindness and love for the Cobra. Big props to the Parks!
Yes..we couldn't agree more!! Thank you so much for watching!!
Nicole your enthusiasm is infectious! Thank you for sharing Lynn's collection, which I may not ever have known about if not for this video. Truly special
We're so glad you enjoyed watching this video!!
Fantastic!!! Thank you so much for watching!
Fantastic history lesson
I would have to say that when you have Coolness like what is in this video you don't even bother bringing the charts lol
Best episode! Lynn is the real deal who enjoys his cars and not just a speculator. As usual Nicole perfectly conveys all the thoughts and emotions of experiencing a Cobra.
We're so glad you enjoyed watching...thank you!!!
Ditto 65
I reached out to Lynn a couple of years ago for some pics of El Cid roof and bubble for a 289 drag snake replica and he was such a gent to help me out. Allowing Nicole to drive his cars is a true indication of his kind and helpful nature to let people experience the history and feel of these awesome cars. I tip my hat Mr Park!
100%!!!! Thank you so much for sharing with us!!!
Thank you...we totally agree!! Shooting this episode and getting to know them was such an honor!!
UNREAL!
How nice...thank you Dustin!!!
I love Lynn Park's attitude towards his cars and it is so great that his sons share his enthusiasm. This was another wonderful video, done in a very classy manner. Great job Nicole! You and your team are the best.
We appreciate that!! Glad you enjoyed watching!!
Really I agrree with you about attitude of Mr. Cobra. Wonderful scenes of wonderful cars
I am not a Ford man but I am a cobra and gt40 fan. I am the owner of a pontiac fiero gt, 2,500 lbs with 135 hp .I do like sports car's. What a family and a car collection. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for watching!!
Thank you so much!! All of us here at Detour appreciate this!!
What an absolute treat to meet Mr. Lynn Park, see his Garage and drive a couple of his cobras! Fantastic video!
Thank you for watching..we're so glad you enjoyed it!!
What an amazing experience!!!! Many thanks to the Park family for sharing these incredible vehicles with all of us…. Each episode gets better and better!
Thank you Dave!!
That's awesome....thank you for sharing with us!! Love it!!
Lynn has got to be a National Treasure. To not only preserve these works of art but to use them as they are meant to be.
We couldn't agree more!! Thank you for watching!
Lynn says car the way my dad did.
In Canada he would awarded the Order of Canada. Highest civilian honour. What is the American version?
@@NicoleJohnsonsDetouryour video was fabulous great coverage I loved it I have always been a fan of the cobras 🎉keep up the good work
Wow what a collection.
This is a wild story. Wow.
Thank you for sharing with us..Love it!!
What an absolute gentleman and at the same time what a badass family. Legends! I love how Nicole giggles like a child when sitting in the cars!
Yes..we couldn't agree more and Lynn is an amazing, generous man!! We're so grateful to the Park family for this incredible experience!!
@@NicoleJohnsonsDetour Yes he is, sweet as can be. What an amazing collection of cars too, just jawdropping. There's a lot of muscle in that garage!
Indeed! We never truly outgrow the joy of nice toys, do we? (be they toys of our childhood or the even MORE enjoyable "grownup toys")
As a younger man growing up in the ealy 1980s I owned two 69 Chevelle's & a 72 429 Torino, one Chevelle remained stock it was a 375/369 4.11 gear ,rectangle port head motor ran a 13.20 the other a 468 with all the fixings, bullet proof lower, 3500 stall converter, everything gone through that car ran a 10.20 1.2 60 foot etc. anyhow the sound of the cobra brought me back, i miss that sound and having that horsepower just under foot. yeah it's too cool i miss it
Thanks so much for sharing with us!!
Truly an incredible episode! You seem to effortlessly capture the essence of each car and their owner you interview! Thank you for providing another incredible experience!!!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much for watching!!
Thank you so much..we really appreciate you watching (including your binge)!!! Glad you enjoyed it!
I fully agree with you Paul, Nicole makes really fun and engaging videos. She's rapidly leaving the other car channels in her dust!!
@@jumpjetcaptain495 Wow, thank you!
Thank you so much for watching!! We're so glad you enjoyed it!
This was amazing. I don't think I'd leave that garage. Thank you for this. My dad and I got to meet Carroll Shelby years ago. I never realized how much he meant to my dad until after when I saw him tear up about it. Shelby left this world a better place.
That's awesome!! Thank you for sharing with us!! We're so glad you enjoyed watching!!
Wow that was awesome! The 289 version sounded perfect with race cam, thank you Nicole and Mr Cobra for making such a great video!
And thank you for watching it!! We're so glad you enjoyed!
You are my new hero! I'm 70 years old and because of arthritis probably couldn't get in or out of one, but I lived it through your reactions. Thank you!
Well thank you!!! We're so glad you enjoyed riding with us!!
I love at the end of the video when she is driving the 427 and they show it from above as she is shifting and inbetween gears you see simultaneous puffs of smoke puff out each side pipe! what a freaking awesome car!
Glad you enjoy it! Thanks so much for watching!!
Good catch Steven. 😉
Wow factor can you hear that 427 sing beautifully 26:25, Thank you Nicole for an amazing Cobra show
Our pleasure!! Thank you for watching!
A beautiful woman showing beautiful cars !
Thank You Nicole and Mr. Cobra !
And thank you for watching!!
Thank you for watching..we're so glad you enjoyed it!!
And then there is/are the collections that Mr. Jay Leno and other celebrities have amassed.

I’m want to rewind this and watch it again so I can count how many times you said WOW. What I’d give to be in your shoes.
Thank you for watching...twice!!
Lynn is the coolest person on the planet. Thanks for sharing the ride. I like how he made some of the cars his own while leaving others original. He’s a real enthusiast with a serious collection, that is very much appreciated. Cars are meant to be driven and he does.
We couldn't agree more!!! Thank you!
It’s so amazing how beautiful and timeless the cobra looks in 2023. I love this car so much. This was the fastest car in the world in the 60s.
Thank you so much for watching!!

Thank you for watching!!
Everybody loves the 427, but the 289 is the car with he racing history. Personally a fan of the 289.
Got a 289 in a 67 galaxie 500
Best sound ever v8❤
What a collection of cars and memories. Truly a Cobra historian. So cool that his sons are equally interested to carry on the unique collection. Thank you Lynn for sharing this incredible experience.
We couldn't agree more!! Thank you for watching!
Thank you so much!! This was an experience we will never forget..glad you enjoyed it!!
It's never too late!!! Thank you so much for sharing with us!! We're glad you enjoyed watching this episode!!!
Watching from South Africa and the love for these cars are real. The Daytona, the GT40, and the Cobra are some of the most beautiful cars ever made
We totally agree!! Thank you so much for watching from South Africa!!
So envious. What an amazing experience for you. Thanks for taking us along.
Oh thank you!! It was an amazing experience for sure!! Glad you enjoyed it!
Great episode! The Cobras are awesome on there own, but Nicole, you put it over the top with your genuine, unbridled excitement at not only driving, but just seeing all of the Cobras in that one location. Thanks to you and Mr Park for sharing his passion with us.
Thanks so much!! We're so glad you enjoyed the experience along with us!!

Nicole's genuine excitement and enthusiasm for meeting up with Lynn, his garage and getting to drive a couple of the best cars ever built made this the best episode. I had no idea Shelby built the drag cars. El Cid is way cool.
We're so glad you enjoyed watching!!!
Good on ya!
Thank you so much!! All of us here at Detour appreciate your kind review and support for our channel!!

Nicole, a "no doubter" home run episode!! Thanks to You and the Park family for making this one happen! You are becoming one of the greatest influence-rs that's helping keep the performance car world world rocking. Your humility, sincerity, and classy approach are commendable! *****
Thank you so much!! That's very nice! We're so glad you enjoyed watching!
Thank you so much for watching!! We're glad you enjoyed!!
My first ride in a cobra was in 1967 in Menlo Park California I was 7 years old, it was a 427 cobra candy apple red. 10 years later in high school at Saratoga high my math teacher had two an original 289 and a 427. What great memories this brings back

What A Collection Of Beautiful Cobra's ! , Really Enjoyed Watching Thanks👍🇺🇸 !
Glad you enjoyed it...we appreciate you watching!
How nice!!! We're so glad you enjoyed watching. Thank you!!
Thank you Nicole for an excellent video with Mr Parks and for sharing your experience seeing and driving his collection! They are such incredible cars that demand so much respect when driven but the enjoyment of it all is incomparable! Keep up the good work!

Ah man. Couldn't stop laughing at how awesomely loud that Dragon Snake was 😂😂 Another fun episode, thanks to Nicole & the team!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
When she fired it up I got chills.
Thank you so much!! It was truly an honor for us to be able to film and share this amazing story!! Glad you enjoyed watching!!
Thank you so much for watching!! We're so glad you enjoyed it!!
Oh damn! I’m really, well ……………yeah
I few up in Albuquerque and one of the Ford dealerships handled Cobras, my dad took me to see my first one when I was 12-13 years old.
We appreciate you watching!! Thanks for sharing your memories with us!!
What a great experience! So gracious of Lynn and his sons to share with you, and all of us!
Yes it was an amazing experience and we are so grateful for Lynn and his support! We're so glad you enjoyed watching!!
Thank you so much!! We really appreciate that! Glad you enjoyed watching from The Netherlands!!
So good to see these originals being used and driven. Nicole's awe and appreciation were obvious by what she didn't say and the amount of time with just a goofy grin! Such a good episode. Love it, great treatment of my global favourite car of all time. 🚗👍!
Thank you..we're so glad you enjoyed watching!
How nice!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!!
Our pleasure! We're so glad you enjoyed watching..we sincerely appreciate it!!
