quick question, im planning on buying this game once It comes out but will it be compatible on macs. A lot of games of steam cannot be played on mac and I just want to make sure.
Idk why, but when this comes out, I have a feeling you would do graphics updates for the game like every once in a while when you improve your art or something like that.
I’m glad to see pipe world done justice! I remember loving the art of it when it was first shown off! Amazing work, can’t wait for the release! 😊 Also HATS?!? A Firth staple!
Can't wait for the release, getting it on day one🎉🎉🎉 Only thing i would change though is mabe the walking anim 😅 Edit: I've also, in my free time, been making a microvania, in godot. It's made me respect your work a ton more knowing how hard it is making a game. I've made most of the movement in my game
4:18 i am also making a metroidvania and, as soon as i added the funcitionality to transition between different scenes, the first thing i did was add a scene called "warp zone", as the name suggests, its a test room filled with doors leading to all the games areas.
this is just wow!! the idea of making a cool game like this ALONE!! while having another job is really awesome... can you make tutorials and give tips for new godot beginners? it would be really inspiring...
It’s so cool seeing all of the progress made, the game looks fantastic. Tho it would be cool if the smoke that comes out of the player when you move should be white on the snow area.
I'm so glad to hear about the quick map feature, recently I was playing a fairly modern arpg game, and navigating in it was a lot more annoyong due to no quick map feature
don't like platformers but this one looks (and feels) AMAZING really like animations, particles and lack of aliasing/shadows at characters gives it pretty distinctive style
This video and one of the other videos about indie makes me inspired and motivated despite my anxious and overplanning mind in me. I have 2 months away until i go to College of Central Florida and hopefully this will help me and make me experience game development for the first time.
I played the demo a while back and have been following the game for a while through devlogs, and I loved the gameplay, loved the concept, but the graphics always felt just a bit underwhelming to me. They felt a bit too "flat," to describe it in a word. Now, the game looks pretty much perfect, it looks way more alive and interesting, and it really makes the background and tileset art pop! Great job on this, I'm excited to eventually play DD.
It looks awesome! Whislisted! Also congratulations on the upcoming baby! I have a question if you don't mind, how are you achieven the pixel perfect effect (camera movement) while also being smooth? There's not jitter at all, even the ball at 3:15 is pixel perfect while rotating, it is a shader?
youtube recommended this and I am very happy, I am also a game developer ( in my free time tho haha, if I have any), anyways amazing job just added to my Wishlist to support a fellow developer
you could just use the tab node instead of making a state system for the UI, the tab node does it all for you if you just hide the tab buttons and make it fully transparent.
Hey goodgis! Love your vids and i hope to play your game soon once i get a new compute! I love watching your work through of your ganes and other content because it helps me create a new mindset as i hope to make my own game someday!!😁😁
The new backgrounds look amazing. I've been working on my own godot game but I've been demotivated because of some crazy graphics issues with godot. Any moving objects, especially my player seem to "jitter" when moving. I messed with my settings and code but I have no idea what the solution is. Do you have any idea what this might be and was something like this ever an issue for you?
i am not goodgis but, i do have a solution to that problem that worked for me, and that was to always round the cameras position to integer coordenates at the end of every frame, in removing the decimal part of the cameras coordinates it removes a lot of jitter.

You too.
4:16 I add a debugging tool literally every time because it makes things easier while simultaneously making me feel like I accomplished something lmao
This is so true! haha
Dude. The minimap generation was so cool. Also satisfying after you boxed out the rooms. Reminds me of the OoT minimap
4:42 Oh that looks so good on steam deck, and super fun to play. Makes me want to buy a steam deck lol.
Take as much time as you need with the game. The longer it takes, the more of these lovely dev logs we get!
Congratulations on the baby!
Congrats on your new baby! I hope you're happy and healthy!
Love to see that the game is going smoothly! Keep up the great work!
Man this is amazing, maybe a little bit of shading for the enemies/character would be cool but this is SO GOOD

XD I hope not haha
@Goodgis We will see, won't we?
@@Portable_Sinco That would probably require hundreds of hours of work for a presumably free update, lol.
@Selrisitai hehe
maybe he will change the logo again

Great work on the new graphics too. It looks so much better now. It really filled out the empty spaces.
Good for you!!!!
Those backgrounds were revolutionary. I can tell that alone just kicked up a notch.
4:18 i am also making a metroidvania and, as soon as i added the funcitionality to transition between different scenes, the first thing i did was add a scene called "warp zone", as the name suggests, its a test room filled with doors leading to all the games areas.

I liked the intestine looking minimap
me too, I think is better
Too many details can distract, so maybe just smoothing them out during generation could do the trick.
@@Smaxx it didn't look too detailed. now he made it super simple and indistinguishable from any other place.
new one looks too much like hollow knight imo
Game looks great
Drop the game 🗣️🗣️🗣️ (when it’s ready and you feel that it is complete )
The king had uploaded!!!!!!
Will you be at the next pax event? I’d love too see some more gameplay

I’m curious when the game comes out , do you have an idea of what the price tag may be?
The Game is awesome! it's gotta be the next hollow knight!
I just wishlisted the game :)
the thumbnail looks like geometr dash
Do you think eventually if this makes you enough of a budget that you could even make console ports?
the thumbnail looks like gd lol
3:01 Deepnest from hollow knight?!??!!?!??(just joking)
this looks so fun :)
Congrats, Goodgis!!👶🍼

Also Also HATS!
This is awesome !
will the game be on the nintendo switch in later years?
Let’s go! More Goodgis❤
PLEASE try to add this on console if you can!
looking good...gis
For accessibility and a broader audience you might want to leave aim assist as an option to make the game easier for those who might be struggling.
Hiiiiii
yo yo this video is so gooodddd
Also ITS AMAZING!!
