I see so many people doing this, but I swear I never see anyone actually aware of this feature, but the more arboreal extractors you have on a tree, the slower they operate. A single one operates once every 500 ticks, 2 operate every 750 ticks, and 3 or more operate every 1000 ticks. So basically, having 8 on the same tree is the same speed as growing 4 separate trees and tapping each one with a single extractor
I did not know this. tbh Thermal I dont recall having a good wiki/documentation for, so i'm not surprise people dont' know this Is there a difference between a 2x2 Tree and a 1x1 Tree as well?
Is that for all of them to operate? If so, 2 extractors taking 750 ticks produces as much as 1 in 375 ticks which is a good bit faster, and if it maxes out at 1000 ticks, then theoretically wouldn't 1000 extractors be going as fast as 1 every tick? :p
I have that for Factorio, never tried gregtech but both look pretty similar. I don't know if I have ADHD or not but I wasn't able to complete that game either way as well, what's ultimately working for me now is to go slow at it, make small factories, do blueprints and stuff, just theory craft first before trying it out on the actual world stuff like that (not fully applicable to gregtech but similar) and take frequent breaks. So yeah, I'd recommend going slow, going at your own pace and doing like 30min - 2 hours per day if you have the free time to go at it instead of the usual 6h I did before becoming burnt out. Build a small process for something you need now, finish the automation, and then play something else or take a break and then come back whenever you want to, have been going straight for 3 weeks now. (Oddly this advice also works for hobbies and things like gym, exercise or studying, go slowly at your own rhythm and don't compare yourself to the rest)
Some stuff you could have done for faster/better early game progression 1. Use glass duplication early game(xtone tile->glaxx then wash it) 2. Get the kinetic mixer at LV, rather than MV, its just better than the normal mixer in most cases, and doesn't need circuits 3. Hydrochloric acid is a byproduct of sodium persulfate, and you could use it to etch circuits at double efficiency with iron III chloride 4. Use coins, the shop is really useful if you use it properly 5. Pipez pipes are probably better than create pipes, as work passively and can be upgraded 6. You can enchant meshes in the shop(for coins) or with enchant table, level 30 enchants can easily be farmed with xp bottle energizer recipe 7. Switching to steel/aluminum fluid cells for fluid transport is probably better than wooden barrels, and they add a nice QOL upgrade with visual indicators of the fluid they hold 8. You could also have rushed the electrico-kinetic ore factory after the EBF for more resource gains, and overclocking could also reduce waiting time
also, the steam machines. i have no clue why he never uses the steam machines, but the alloy smelter makes glass way easier with molds, forge hammer gives cheaper plates prior to the LV bender, and you can use the steam from those machines to make a fair bit of power in early game.
@@kasyu1101 He probably didn’t use steam because it takes a bit of time and resources to set up, and he was probably busy rushing ae2. Steam machines are definitely worth the investment, especially the alloy smelter, macerator(for firebricks) and forge hammer. Steam turbines also give a byproduct of distilled water.
When I played the pack, I made the Create biodiesel to power a array of pistons (in the end, about 60). I used two GT farms to produce the ingredients necessary (that don't require power and make a LOT of output). I think I used potatoes for the ethanol and sugarcane for the sugar. I had some diverted to make bonemeal. I can't recall how I made the seed oil. I used LaserIO to move things around. It worked infinitely (keep those chunks loaded!) and produced all the power we needed until early mid-game. For the entire processing line, I made a small, dedicated vertical windmill. Bonus note: You can add a regular size waterwheel to a line of the large waterwheel, and it will double the rotation speed.
I wanna give a mild correction: single block machines *can* overclock but can only take 1 amp of their voltage tier, this means you can use an mv machine to craft lv recipes twice as fast for example. It's technically called "tierskipping" when you run a multiblock at a voltage tier higher than the one you are at Also I have no idea if i missed it or not but the mv extruder is the greatest machine to ever exist and can craft gears, bolts, rings, etc.. directly which saves a lot of time (unfortunately not pumps but it makes the recipe 20x easier!) also you should be able to use a bending machine to turn sticky resin into rubber 1:1
yeah I just didn't end up making the extruder for this episode since it was a rush, also thanks for the wording correction I'm glad what I mean is still understandable
@@joshument i have to agree he starts talking about how this so complicated to make but then it like he just stops not like he is not talking but that i am expecting several minutes of explanation but then it like 20 seconds and it feels wrong to me. maybe i play gregtech too much
High-speed crash course on Gregtech Energy, for anyone interested; the ingame shorthand for it is EU, commonly measured as EU/t (“per tick”). FE (or RF) converts to EU at a ratio of 4FE to 1 EU. Two measurements are involved in understanding EU: voltage and amperage. *Voltage* is based on the actual amount of energy generated, and is divided into power tiers (LV, MV, HV, etc.), providing a specific amount of EU/t; LV provides 32 EU/t, MV provides 128 EU/t, and so on, with the EU multiplied by 4 at each tier. Each crafting recipe produced in GT machines requires a certain minimum voltage tier and a certain minimum amount of EU/t. Using a higher voltage tier to power the recipe, and thus more EU/t, will double the recipe’s speed each time the tier is increased. *Amperage* is a little more fun, and an example will help explain it. LV power requires 32 EU/t; the lowest tier of LV converter converts FE into this exact amount. That is one amp of LV power. If you use two of these LV converters, you now have 64 EU/t on hand; that’s 2 amps of LV power. You can also make individual converters that generate 4, 8, or even 16 amps of a given voltage at once. Incidentally, at 4 amps of LV power, a machine is now receiving 128 EU/t, which is exactly the same amount of power as the MV voltage tier. This is how the overclocking Dejojo mentioned on EBF’s works- if you give the EBF 4 amps of LV power (2 amps into each energy hatch), the EBF now has enough power to run recipes that require MV voltage. Sadly, this trick only works with multi-block machines that can use multiple energy hatches; single-block machines can only accept 1 amp of power each, no matter the tier. However, you can also build transformers that turn amps of one tier into amps of another- for example, a transformer could turn 4 amps of MV power into 1 amp of HV power, or vice versa. (To be fair, I haven’t played this specific modpack myself so I don’t know if transformers are in here.)

My brain is now yogurt (I'm 3 minutes in)
Yougurt brain means infinite food though, now you've automated yougurt by watching my videos ;)
same but oh my god i love it
i legit did not know you could explode stone out of the dirt in this pack
Everytime i see sodium persulfate on this modpack i get some PTSD from when i started playing and didnt knew what i was doing...
legend said anyone completing any gregtech mod together
they'll be friend for life
is this true, chat?
i love the way you pronounce cupronickel
