One of these nights Eagles song. This was releases by The Eagles in 1975 and written by Don Henley and Glen Frey.It reached No 1 in the billboars charts and is a favourite among their fans.
It also has a brilliant story line with incredible lyrics.

Just for a note of history.... Glen Fry and Don Henley were in Linda Rondstadts backing band and she encouraged them to go on their own because she recognized their talent. She did them a great favor by doing a cover of their song Desparado (it's interesting to listen to both the eagles and Lindas cover) which in turn brought them more attention. Speaking of which please give a listen to Linda Rondstadt.... just about anything.
Linda *Ronstadt* and *Glenn* Fry.
Glen, Don, and Randy Meisner were all in Linda's band.
I heard about this story the other day…….She knew
They were friends (and house mates ?), with Jackson Browne, who shared Take It Easy.
Big fan of Clint Black's cover too
The voice change by Don was fantastic.
Victim Of Love is very overlooked, but wow one of my Eagles favs
Agreed
Oh the memories Harri, the memories. Magical time to be young. Sigh...
That intro with the guitars gives me chills every time.
Lyin eyes and desperado for openers then hotel California. They were a great band
Their BEST, I picked up a lady with a line from this song.....back in the 80's
This is the music I grew up on. The Eagles were a great 70's band with so many hit songs. They were known for their great harmonies. "Take It Easy", "Witchy Woman", "Desperado", "Already Gone", "Best of My Love", "Lyin' Eyes", "Take It to the Limit", Hotel California, "New Kid in Town" etc. Before they went solo they were the back up band for Linda Ronstadt.
Yep me also...this was my childhood
With Linda Ronstadt....they were the 'Stone Ponies'. An incredible group.
Only two of the Eagles were in Linda's band. But she did recommend the other players to them. So she could be called the catalyst of the band, without even being in the band.
Thanks for the great reaction. The Eagles just have so many different sounds. For matters of the heart, great tracks are “Desperado” and “Life In The Fast Lane”. They are completely different in style, but both amazing.
The Eagles are just liquid gold. Throw a few darts and you'll come up with that many hits. Very much worth a deep dive.
The Eagles were some of the best storytellers/lyricists in rock history. I put them up there w the Stones, Jim Morrison, etc.
One of my favorites. Love the music, lyric-just the whole thing. You’d be hard pressed to find an Eagles song that was not one of my favorites. So happy to to find people who love the music of my youth.
Old 55 is a great song to check out too, sure you'll love it.
"Take It To The Limit" next please!!
The little guitar fills in this song are awesome
Do. TAKE IT TO THE LIMIT!
I think this song struck a personal chord with you. Thank you for the review sir. Peace n love
What a great 🎵 song!! RIP Glenn Frey. Luv your reactions Harri!!!
I saw them just two nights ago and they were still tearing it up. Those exquisite vocals, the wonderful guitar work, the rhythmic drive - all there. And when they amped up the rock and roll they were on fire.
Pure gold
"One of these nights, one of these crazy Ole nights"
The Eagles was one of my favorite bands back in the day. They made some great music over a decade or two. I like this one --- It's Don Henley singing lead. And I love "I Can't Tell You Why" and also "Desperado". If you haven't yet, you should check those out and give us your reaction. Both Don Henley & Glenn Frye went on to have solo careers ... OH .. and I shouldn't leave out Joe Walsh! He had a great career both before and after he was with The Eagles. Love you dreads!
My favorite Eagles songs.Take it to the Limit, too.Seen them in concert.Amazing.
Now these guys taught me to sing especially in the high ranges and especially this song...and Take it to the Limit.
A dose of Southwestern Indian desert magic ... Witchy woman etc. Jim Morrison had some of that
The Eagles are an awesome group with too many hits to mention.
Eagles are just loaded with talent……grew up listening to these guys👍
Harri needs tp react to the Eagles song "Get Over It". It may have written years ago, but, with the way things are going on in the US, it would fit right in today.
If your a hip hop head ?! I know people will get pissed at me , but I’m 52 years old , and the first part of the song would be sooo dope on a hip hop track . I’ve been an Eagles fan way before I herd rap music , because we only had one r&b station in Denver in the 70s so I have an ear for both . Thanks my man for your content . Cheers !!
My favorite Eagles song
My favorite song if theirs. Little disco flavor in there.
Check out No More Cloudy Days, Best of My Love, Midnight Flyer & Love Will Keep Us Alive by The Eagles. They’re all fantastic.
Wish you better soon Harri! Love Dawn x
check out all the band members, amazing
Have to listen to the live version Of Take It To The Limit
Sounds a little bit like "Rock Your Baby", by....George McCrae
Harry, when they say they want the devils daughter, an angel in white. It is not necessarily in the same person. It's more like this or that.
Not knowing exactly what they want but they know it when they see it.
Try Mid night flier. My old 55.🤠🇺🇸🇬🇧🐎✌️🥞
The high harmony comes from Randy Meisner, the bass player. Eagles were never the same vocally after his departure, still good but he gave them an extra ooomph with his high harmony and is very distinct in the mix. You are fortunate your video got through. Eagles love blocking channels like yours. Don Henley is convinced you are stealing his royalties, not that it amounts to much once the record company and UA-cam takes their share.
Those falsettos-wonder if the Bee Gees were influenced by that as this song predates their falsetto period.
Try their “Seven Bridges Road”. Talk about harmonies.
Home Free does an amazing cover of this song.
Its not better than this song even the eagles said one of these nights is their favorite song
Definitely a magical track.
@@derekbeck7586 To each their own
My ringtone!!
Listen to “Lyin Eyes” by them if you want a story. Every song by them is awesome.
Yes but not the Legacy version - do the full version that is 6 minutes 31 seconds. The Legacy version apparently misses out a verse
There goes Don Felder on one of his unbelievable guitar riffs. He was so underrated as a guitarist. So many awesome riffs.
I liked his parts better than Joe Walsh's parts. At least live.
Don Henley did a great falsetto on the lead vocal but the highest singer back in that configuration of the band was bassist Randy Meisner, who sang lead on “Take It To The Limit.”
Wait I thought the bassist was a different guy Tim Scmidt I think I got his name wrong. He sang I can't tell you why.
@@andrethomas7096 Tim replace Randy after the stress of hitting those notes every performance was too much stress for him. Stage fright set in to the point he had to step away to keep his voice and sanity. Tim came in when he vacate the band. It was a bit funny (odd funny, not haha) that Randy was in a band called Poco I think. And Tim replaced him in that when he went to The Eagles. Then he did the same when Randy left them. That is if I am remembering correctly. They both had amazing and similar vocal ranges.
@@KuscosPoison Well damn Thanks for the reply. Ok I thought Tim was from the beginning. That is a crazy turn of events.
@@andrethomas7096 Schmidt joined the Eagles on their "Long Run" album. Meisner was an original Eagle. Check him out here from the Hotel California album:
ua-cam.com/video/yNnH1sN0dw8/v-deo.html
Pretty sure they were all "High" my dude
I've been an Eagles fan from back in the 70s....Saw them live in Spokane a short while before Glenn passed away....RIP Glenn.....They played to a sold out arena and brought the house down...One of the best bands in history...
The high harmony is sung by Randy Meisner the bassist. He sings lead on Take it to the Limit, which would be a great one to do.
Glen said he never got tired of playing this song, he said he loved Don's voice.
Would agree.
lol yeah as long as it wasn't attached to Don
The EAGLES! One of the greatest bands of all time!!!!! I love the way they switch lead from Don Henley to Glenn Frey (RIP). Such great harmony and great musicians.
The Eagles had been broken up for years. Country Artist put a album together to honor the Eagles. Travis Tritt was going to cover Take It Easy. He suggested getting the Eagles to appear in the video. Everyone told him it would never happen. Well it did. That was when the Eagles got back together!
In 1971, The INCREDIBLE Linda Ronstadt came to Tiny Sheffield Alabama to record. I guess if the studio was good enough for the Rolling Stones, it was good enough for them.. She had some young dudes with her who got caught peeping in a window to watch Linda in action. Their names were Glenn, Don Bernie and Randy. They would go on to start their own band called The Eagles. A young hungry guy from Michigan was Also in Sheffield to get his career started. His name was Bob Seger. I would have to say they all made out pretty well
🙂🤔🤗😆
Never get tired of this song such a great tune pure magic from the 70's. Fly high Eagles.🦅
This is one of the few bands I never got a chance to see live and really wish I could have. Such excellent music. Great reaction Harri. Their song "New Kid In Town" would be another great one to see a reaction to.
They are touring next year again - although short one member now. They still sound good.
They went on 17 "Farewell" tours at least -_-
Their last work will never be in the same ball park as their 1970s Magic!
I was fortunate enough to see them on their Hell Freezes Over tour, fantastic!
I have seen them twice in the last four years in Nashville. They still sound awesome! Vince Gill is a great addition.
Had the pleasure of seeing the Eagles live a couple of years ago shortly before Glen Frye passed away. Amazing
Lucky you.
missed them by a week
Saw them in Austin in 1980; The Long Run Tour, and again San Sntonio in '94; The Hell Freezes Over Tour. Amazing indeed!
When I first heard this song, was floored. Great new sound from mid 😊70's. things were getting stale around then.
Don Felder on lead guitar and Randy Meisner on bass. Underrated. Try "Take it to the Limit." The only Eagles song that Randy Meisner sang lead on. Very high and soaring falsetto. Fantastic group and way more than just Don Henley and Glenn Frey.
Correction: Randy sang lead on several Eagles songs, and he wrote some of their hits too. To name a few songs with Randy on lead vocals:
= Most of us are sad
= Midnight Flyer (co-written with Bernie Leadon)
= Too Many Hands (co-written with Don Felder)
= Tryin’ (Randy’s composition)
= Certain Kind of Fool (Randy’s composition)
= Try and Love Again (Randy’s composition)
… and of course Take It To The Limit, which was Randy’s composition too. He was writing it in his own creative way and in his own creative time, when the Egoes pulled their “let us help you finish it” trick (which they did to many other songwriters) - so they could get their names on the credits as well as on the royalty checks. Take It To The Limit was Eagles’ first million-seller even though it was not promoted nor released as a single … now imagine if the Egoes had given Randy more of the limelight, we would have had many many more hits.
Randy also wrote and sang many great songs both pre-Eagles and post-Eagles.
Eagles Randy Meisner (many think the best singer of the Eagles) "Take It To the Limit". This is the version you need to watch, Live but it is no longer on U.S. UA-cam. I see people in other countries reacting to it. The other singers trying to do it just isn't the same.
One of these nights, Take it easy, Desperado, and Witchy Women are my all time favorite tunes of theirs! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
A fantastic song. The best LIVE harmonies of any band…ever
The Eagles had lots of Top 40 hits (19), one less than ELO (20), and one more than Fleetwood Mac (18). Those three bands made up such a huge part of the decade's soundtrack!!!
What about the Bee Gees??
Thanks to the legendary Linda Ronstadt for helping launch what would become the Eagles
The Eagles owned the 70s. They were a hit making machine. Yes, you're right it was rare to hear Don Henley go so high on the falsetto. That was usually reserved for Randy Meisner back then.
you want to hear a high tenor? check out Randy Meisner singing "Take it to the Limit"
ALWAYS my favorite of theirs. This song had so much soul & rhythm...it screams "dance with me" ... the harmonies are beautiful!
one of my favorite bands and this song is sooooo good. peace and love from Canada
And just like that, it's Los Angeles in the 70s and summer and fun. It was a great time.
Forget Hotel California, for me this is the best Eagles song for me.
Same!
Funny - I love the Eagles but Hotel California is not a song I like at all.
I saw them in Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, AZ, on the Hell Freezes Over Tour. They were soooo good. The sound was crisp, the vocals spot on, and musically, they were beautiful. I saw Pink Floyd two weeks later, but that's another story. Harri, thanks for sharing this song. Another clean, crisp song from them.
I saw them doing the Hell Freezes Over Tour in Chicago! Definitely one of my favorite live concerts.
Saw them on the He'll Freezes Over tour as well..Clemson SC..AWESOME!🤘
The group that ran the 1970s. Not a bad song in the lot. Surprised this is still up. They tend to pull The Eagles.
"Pretty Maids all in a row", "Wasted Time", "Those Shoes", "Take it to the limit".....and many more!
yes!! take it to the limit
Wow , haven't heard those shoes in awhile ! so good
@@davidbordonaro1631 It's so good...!
@@joelhoulette3244 And Glenn thought the Eagles would "lose" vocally trading Bernie for Joe.... I think Joe sounds amazing...!
Do you know "Help me through the Night"...?
Love this one Harri ! Also, "Desperado," and "Seven Bridges Road." Thanx my friend :)
My brother and his wife took me to the Eagles Hotel California Concert in 1976. We had floor seats. It was amazing
The mysteriousness of the intro still sends me on a daydream and I've been listening to this since it dropped in 1975. The twin guitar fills, the tasty bass licks, the disco drum figure -- all beneath those signature vocal harmonies. PS. The Eagles are notorious for blocking. You should hear Rick Beato -- who manages one of the best YT music education channels -- rant about it.
Yep….you’re correct with The Eagles blocking videos! Once heard Henley talking about him taking on UA-cam & Google, & the run-in’s he’s had with them over past several years.
One Of These Nights...one of my favorite songs of all time! Sheer perfection on every level!
I've seen them in concert 3 times and they are incredible! I swear if you close your eyes.and listen you would swear that you're listening to the album version of a song. Their harmonies are so great! So much talent in that band for over 50 years now.
The high harmonies are mainly their first bass player Randy Meissner.
Take it to the Limit
Peaceful easy feeling and Tequila Sunrise
If they don't block it, Don Henley has an excellent song called "heart of the matter". It is a must listen.
Had to check that I hadn’t written this comment as it sounds like something I said! It’s so well written & structured with a soaring chorus & some great harmonies. The more contemplative songs on End Of The Innocence are all great.
After The Thrill Is Gone by the Eagles is another great song from this album.
Watching the Eagles perform this live in the late 70s is really something too👌Don Henley singing while on the drums, I've always considered that to be such an impressive musical skill.
Levon Helm....The Band.
The Eagles "Witchy Woman".
Great Eagle"s tune. Has all of their signature elements which means it will still sound fresh 50 years from now. I love all Eagles but I do have a special place for New Kid in Town as it presents Glen Frey at the very top of his game which elevated him even further up the rock music mountain.
Nice choice Harri! Thx! Reminds me of my younger days! Still looking for that one special one! David Geffen produced a whole category of great artists!
The tone on this guitar solo is one of my favorites!
Fingers Felder
@@kevinconiston2270 .. please correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought that the iconic pulsing intro was Randy on bass …? I recall seeing a video of one of the early performances, and it appeared that Randy was playing that intro…
@@ingfig1 You are correct sir. (I was referring to the lead solo)
@@kevinconiston2270
Using a power fuzz tone on second part of solo was truly successful which most using that effect fail in a fuzzy mess- he made it sizzle
Considered to be one of the greatest bands in the world.
I just saw them on Oct 16th in LA at The Forum. Best concert hands down. When I left I was already making plans to see them again. They're awesome!
I think you'd love "Desperado."
The Eagles Have The Ability To Walk Around Your Heart and Mind For The Rest Of Your Life- I'd Love Your Reaction (s) To The "The Last Resort" &"Wasted Time"🎧
💥
I adore Tim's base in this one....
Don Henley's voice is insane!!!!
I'd love it if you could check out "Those Shoes", another great Eagles tune
Please react to them singing Lyin' Eyes - the words (as well as the singing) are amazing.
I know what you mean about the Eagles lyrics. For some particularly poignant lyrics try Don Henley singing "Heart of the Matter" and "Best of My Love" Both deeply touching songs.
I have two favourites by the eagles….this one and “ i can’t tell you why”…..which according to the late glen frey were his favourites too
I saw them at the Texxas Jam, by the time they came on *last*. A lot of people had passed out or left because of bad sunburns. So, I left my seat that was in the shade in the Cotton Bowl, and I walked across the floor, and sat right on the stage all by myself. Joe Walsh came over and sang right to me. After they left the stage, I ran up on stage and went backstage, people kept handing me things to carry thinking I was a roadie. I would put it down a few steps later, followed them out the back door, but they were gone if a flash, it was a lot of fun. A great memory.
Greatest line of any song E V E R;
I'm searching for the daughter of the Devil himself
I'm searching for an Angel in white
I'm waiting for a woman who's a little of both
And I can feel her, but she's nowhere in sight... 💔🙏
One of the greatest bands ever.
The atmosphere created in this song is incredible
You have to hear their song “Those Shoes”
I love, love, love The Eagles! If you want to hear amazing harmonies, "Hole In The World" is incredible! If you want clever lyrics, a deep cut that I love is "Good Day In Hell". I often quote from that song...
That really high falsetto harmony is Randy Meisner, the bass player with such a distinctive voice.
This entire album is awesome! May be my favorite of their catalog.
The eagles are one of the best selling artists in America( not sure how they rank for world sales). 1.The Beatles 2. Garth brooks 3 Elvis 4 .The Eagles 5 Led Zeppelin 6 Michael Jackson 7 Billy Joel. Those are the elite in American record sales , 2 of those being British. They were among the pioneers of the country rock sound. Although they do have some songs that are pure rock , many are a country rock blend.
