#1 Commit to the jump #2 Start spiking approach earlier #3 Wait for the ball to drop so you can hit directly on top #4 Stay tall with a straight elbow #5 Jump as close to the ball as possible Straight up and down
so what i do is i start my approach slow then when i see the path of the ball i do the last 2 steps quickly into the direction of the ball. before that i had terrible timing but then my coach told me to watch older grades spiking and he asked " what do you see them doing?" and i said "they start their approach slow and then when they know where the ball is they speed up there last 2 steps
in match i mainly score by block out, though there is nothing wrong with this scoring method but i really want to bounce it hard on the floor this video helped me alot only time i bounce the ball on attack line is when in training setter set the ball over the net a bit
I love you guys for this! I watch you and Josh play through here and his UA-cam page and hope one day I meet you guys at a tourney or something here in Cali! I'm here in the 916 so we close homie! I always struggled with how to bounce a Vball. I'm 5'7 with a 2 1/2 foot vertical. I shall now take what the professor has taught and apply it next open gym!!
this is a great video and I keep watching it over and over again. great job on learning how to bounce and such a great teacher! personally, I'm struggling alot with teaching myself how to bounce. I've done it perfectly less times than I have fingers on one hand. do you guys think you could make an even more in depth video about it and maybe also some trouble shooting? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks once again
We had p.e today and we are doing volleyball as our main topic for the term. My teacher wanted to 1v2 me and my friend (we spent all night analysing your techniques) and we won >:D them set ups were lit by the way. I love your vids and because of that I was able to get into volleyball club :3 thank you very much!
YO I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE! I always try to play with people better than me so i have the challenge to try my hardest and i gain info and tips by them.
Just got hand injury cause I blocked someone who's have killer spike uhu but this is part of the journey hope it will heal fast I just played volleyball for 1 month😊
This depends on how experienced the person is. I mean I could have a powerful jump serve with topspin, but what about side spin? Are they right handed or left handed. You just need time on the court.
hitting trough the middle from 1 meter line, yes if you are middle, it is totally different when you hit from opposite or outside, ball is coming from the side and you hitting parallel or diagonally, this spike its brutal because ball is dropping straight to the floor, and you just need to slam it down :D
1:02 when you jumped, could you see over the net? can't really tell because of the angle. i'm curious how high you actually need to jump to his it like this
I think I get the difference~? a spike is aimed on the back zone while a bounce is aimed at the front zone? it should be the setter's job to make the ball go near the center line so it's easier to aim, right? and wouldn't that be risky cuz the blocker could've reached that ball before the spiker hits it?
Step 1. Once you have passed the ball prepare to approach Step.2 the ball is now In reach of the setter, your first step to you approach is now in action Step 3. Once the ball is in the air you should be a step away from jumping Step 4. Take a step and jump, once in the air bend your legs back and put your hitting arm behind your head getting ready for the spike Step 5. Whip your arm and your wrist to get top spin on the ball Step .6 make sure you have extended your legs while hitting to get more power Step 7. Get a good landing and don’t crosses over the line
Theres something called "the block" ;-) if the spike is as aggressive as this there should be a block already waiting for it ! (the rest is only part of the genes who's taller or able to jump higher...!
+Elevate Yourself but you dont show HOW to bounce a villeyball. i think there was one example inside 10 ft. i did that from back row. no drills on how to jump or increase vert or horizontal. weak
so basically....i need to get in on this video...How to bounce part 2 with Ron and Josh. Bucket list. I would like to add: quick step close and if possible, pike over the ball to get body weight behind the hit since there isn't much forward momentum as josh said.
I think you need to coach/teach your setter to have 'less sticky' hands. It's almost as if he learned to first set on the beach and now he's setting indoors after a couple years.
i love you guys.. i always watch your video..iam always updated and watch every single video of your.. can i have one of your ball😂 we will be really grateful to have one of those.. thank you in advance💗💗❤️❤️❤️ god bless you..
You know you're a volleyball lover when you get that excited over someone else's hit! Love the passion dude!
#1 Commit to the jump
#2 Start spiking approach earlier
#3 Wait for the ball to drop so you can hit directly on top
#4 Stay tall with a straight elbow
#5 Jump as close to the ball as possible
Straight up and down
#5 is not great advice for in a game tho, since you want to be behind the ball so you can see the block
6 sets have to be there
When playing Volleyball,
My real enemy is
*TIMING*
Trueeee
Me too
Me af
Claude X it’s everyone’s enemy especially me I’m short but I can jump high
Ikr its very exhausting to nail it..
When Josh's left hand spike better den your main hand spike
I started to train my left arm, cuz my right shoulder was hurting everytime i hit. Now i can hit with both, and it impress everyone.
When Josh's left hand spike is better than your already perfected left hand spike
Professor's reactions are the best part of this video. Good stuff.
I can jump high and hit hard but my problem is just the timing. Idk when to run and jump
Jj Madrid he has vids
Omg absolutely same
I’m the opposite I have good timing but not the best jump I can have
so what i do is i start my approach slow then when i see the path of the ball i do the last 2 steps quickly into the direction of the ball. before that i had terrible timing but then my coach told me to watch older grades spiking and he asked " what do you see them doing?" and i said "they start their approach slow and then when they know where the ball is they speed up there last 2 steps
When the setter touch the ball start running
cant believe I was able to improve after watching this video! thanks! watching a lot of your vids right now! thanks coach!
For some reason This is my go-to video for volleyball motivation. Always gets me exited and makes me want to play volleyball.
Getting a hit straight down is so nice in game
can't wait to see Coach use this during a game
You guys both have such great snap on the ball. Josh's armswing is so insanely fast as well :O
it helps when you can get your head above the net
Yeah jumping and getting at least your eyes or chin above the net makes it easier to spike straight down.
great video! i think #1 tip is to have a vertical reach higher than 10'4" haha
+Elevate Yourself hitting over the ht of net is huge improvement
that moment when you realize that coach learns how to bounce in a couple of minutes
This guy is the prove that every short person can bounce the ball so crazy😮❤
These videos actually help me so much it’s crazy
in match i mainly score by block out,
though there is nothing wrong with this scoring method
but i really want to bounce it hard on the floor
this video helped me alot
only time i bounce the ball on attack line is when in training setter set the ball over the net a bit
I really enjoy the sport and I am starting to hit hard but not straight down this really helped
First guy gets his head above the net, second guy gets his chest above the net.
The setting made me cry
well he's not a setter afaik
Harrison Sloan he's obviously not a setter , I also cried too
how to set in a right way?
Hi coach ; how can we increase speed of hand swing? What exercises do you recommend
tip try to aim for the front court for better bounce
I love you guys for this! I watch you and Josh play through here and his UA-cam page and hope one day I meet you guys at a tourney or something here in Cali! I'm here in the 916 so we close homie!
I always struggled with how to bounce a Vball. I'm 5'7 with a 2 1/2 foot vertical. I shall now take what the professor has taught and apply it next open gym!!
he didnt instruct tho
this is a great video and I keep watching it over and over again. great job on learning how to bounce and such a great teacher!
personally, I'm struggling alot with teaching myself how to bounce. I've done it perfectly less times than I have fingers on one hand. do you guys think you could make an even more in depth video about it and maybe also some trouble shooting? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks once again
yall together is so great and professor you bounce is so sick
Your one of the best coaches in history
i really love this....if you know the joy in volleyball you will always love the be on court
Can you make a video on how to jump higher to block and spike? I cannot find a video if you have one uploaded already ^
can we just talk about how bc the set was off at 4:45 he just HIT W HIS LEFT HAND?! WHAT AN ADJUSTMENT
Josh's reactions are amazing and funny af hahahaha
From Philippines... I learned volleyball because of this video...I how to pass the ball and to spike and also to set...salamat po
In volleyball I want my opponent to be better than me for me to gain more skills and experience
You are exactly what I want in a teammate!
YO I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE! I always try to play with people better than me so i have the challenge to try my hardest and i gain info and tips by them.
Having one match with a skilled opponent won’t make you better then you already are
Same as well!
Josh has perfect form!
I thought the first guy was good, then I saw the second guy
i‘m even fascinated how accurately the spiker passes the ball to that guy
Just got hand injury cause I blocked someone who's have killer spike uhu but this is part of the journey hope it will heal fast I just played volleyball for 1 month😊
I love how at 1:50 he already knew you were gonna do it before u hit the ball🤣
how to defend a powerful jump serve ?
Impossible
This depends on how experienced the person is. I mean I could have a powerful jump serve with topspin, but what about side spin? Are they right handed or left handed. You just need time on the court.
even if I didn't learn much it's real funny just watching you guys practicing
More bounce tutorials plz! This video is perfect!
hitting trough the middle from 1 meter line, yes if you are middle, it is totally different when you hit from opposite or outside, ball is coming from the side and you hitting parallel or diagonally, this spike its brutal because ball is dropping straight to the floor, and you just need to slam it down :D
blockers hands should be surrounding the ball. nothing brutal here
This is utterly amazing!
This video was so useful n unique thank you sir😙❤️☺️
Glad you liked it
3:27 I was like Mcsqueeze me?!?!
Had to come back to watch this classic video
This is impressive. *notes down* Congratulations on your first bounce! The next ones will be easier!
I was a setter for a coed team and it was epic
Thanks this really helped a lot!
Nice coach
Good Audio and explanation
great video guys, that was sick
+Elevate Yourself way ahead of you
You are channeling your inner hinata and kageyama😤😌
Should do another video and see the comparison from 4 years ago !
Nice of you to assume I can get my head above the net
if ya'll are ever in Toronto Canada hit the HITman up!! :)
Love all your vids btw, learned a lot from the both of you!
Totally haven’t been watching these videos since I’ve made the school team
i’m 5’3 so thanks for this
incredibly great!!!
It certainly helps that the professor jumps out the gym. :)
1:02 when you jumped, could you see over the net? can't really tell because of the angle. i'm curious how high you actually need to jump to his it like this
new drinking game; take a drink when Josh says dude and finish your drink when donny gets a bounce
and be sober after the game? no fun
this is the best
I think I get the difference~? a spike is aimed on the back zone while a bounce is aimed at the front zone? it should be the setter's job to make the ball go near the center line so it's easier to aim, right? and wouldn't that be risky cuz the blocker could've reached that ball before the spiker hits it?
Another thing people need to watch out for when going for a straight down hit is their follow-through can't be as long or you'll hit the net
I'm 5'10" on a good day and good shoes. I'm told I jump too soon so I have to work on that but my dream is to get the bounce down!
5'4 right side here, gna make the bounce one of my hitting goals for this season lmaoooo
10 fting the ball in fun, especially in warmups, but a good block can easily stop this kind of attack
Step 1. Once you have passed the ball prepare to approach
Step.2 the ball is now In reach of the setter, your first step to you approach is now in action
Step 3. Once the ball is in the air you should be a step away from jumping
Step 4. Take a step and jump, once in the air bend your legs back and put your hitting arm behind your head getting ready for the spike
Step 5. Whip your arm and your wrist to get top spin on the ball
Step .6 make sure you have extended your legs while hitting to get more power
Step 7. Get a good landing and don’t crosses over the line
I could only bounce the ball on a quick middle. High set outside will just end up deep for me.
wait half a second or 1 second on your approach
Deep is a smarter hit in a game than a hit str8 down. You are often gonna get blocked unless you have zero blockers on you then it’s a highlight.😂
Me wondering how I’m supposed to receive this: 👁👄👁💧
Theres something called "the block" ;-) if the spike is as aggressive as this there should be a block already waiting for it ! (the rest is only part of the genes who's taller or able to jump higher...!
With your arms
Dive or die trying, thats my team's defense motto
good bounce coach....it motivated..
I can do that if only the net was lower😂😂
What a awesome video haha.
+Elevate Yourself but you dont show HOW to bounce a villeyball. i think there was one example inside 10 ft. i did that from back row. no drills on how to jump or increase vert or horizontal. weak
Oh hes the guy who posts some of the games
Josh a great bounce master......
nice trick
Very good
so basically....i need to get in on this video...How to bounce part 2 with Ron and Josh. Bucket list.
I would like to add: quick step close and if possible, pike over the ball to get body weight behind the hit since there isn't much forward momentum as josh said.
+Elevate Yourself no but I'll make an appearance sometime and we can ball out!
slow horizontal equals low vertical
whats the difference between the reg spike and a bounce? it is to hit the ball to the ground as close to u as possible?
When trying to bounce should you have the same contact, and wrist snap, etc as if you were spiking normally?
hey coach, how to tip and roll (make a feint)ball from back attack,?,
I am only 5' 2" do you think I can spike over that net?
Kou Lor no
3:49 r u allowed to do that? Like does the first touch count as a block and the other one just a hit?
It‘s not allowed in a match but he probably wantes to show his bounce when he hits with nice setting
How high is the net ? How many blocks from your hand coach ?
What's the difference between hitting high (like you used to)and bouncing?
Daaaaaaaam Coach Donny
What’s difference between bounce and spike?
I think you need to coach/teach your setter to have 'less sticky' hands. It's almost as if he learned to first set on the beach and now he's setting indoors after a couple years.
i love you guys.. i always watch your video..iam always updated and watch every single video of your.. can i have one of your ball😂 we will be really grateful to have one of those.. thank you in advance💗💗❤️❤️❤️ god bless you..
Dude perfect should add in trick shots initiated by bouncing to the basket in the back.
My first spike was a Bounce...It was adrenaline rush
Bounce is when your spike goes before the 3 meters line ?
hi coach donny, Im from the Philippines. I really wanted to bounce a ball. can you do more bounce lesson for me?
Can you make another How to Bounce tutorial?
wait so is there a difference between bouncing the ball or spiking it or am I just getting these terms mixed up?
Ninja Tuna a bounce is when you spike it and it lands in front of the attack line
Coach, how can I improve my jump training if I don't have weight lifting facilities or if I want to do it in my house
Elevate Yourself thanks!
coach Donny getting coached. question mark
I do not like how he sets jaja, but it doesnt mean that he is a bad player, I know he is good :D
