I remember about 4 years ago watching your tutorials, especially the jump serves. I really worked on my float serves and jump float serves and now i have a really strong and tricky serve. Ive gotten so many points. Thank you for being my coach, Coach Donny:)
@@LeeThe then solely focus on that:) I had many practices where I only focused on the timing of my approach, it's very worth it and very fun to jump serve once you get the hang of it
I can't really say that i have a favorite style yet, since I've barely started going into jump serves, but at the moment I'm doing the 4 steps approach, and throwing the ball with my off hand, so NOT my serving hand. Going pretty well, i can get about 4 in 5 serves in with pretty good power for my clubs level, maybe 3 in 5 if I'm not feeling good that day. Absolutely cannot wait for part 2! Really need some drills i can do
This comes at the perfect time. I've been practicing jump serves and have had trouble with consistency that only recently I've gotten a handle on and it's helped me improve getting top spin. I'm gonna use this to tweak my jump serve mechanics where they need help and hopefully see more improvement and consistency!
In my previous game, I'm exploring and practicing jump serve. The consistency of hitting the ball in the air and timing were 50/50 success. I notice that I always failed on timing of hitting the ball. This video were more educational and we'll explain. Right now I'm practicing at gym near to our house and one thing I'm easily get tired on jumping and hitting.😅
my favorite jump serving style is a two step aproach which steps before the toss for great control and aim. im also on the taller side so its easyier to contact the ball higher
I needed to fix my spiking and jump serve form because I was doing the penultimate step on the wrong side but with your video I instantly fixed that thank you so much
That's pretty spot on. The only difference for me is that I use both hands for the toss up. I have two reasons for this. First is that it keeps my hands/arms symmetrical; both of my arms go forward at the same time, to allow them to go back behind me at the same time for the jump. Second, using two hands allows the ball to be spun the opposite direction (i.e. with backspin) when it gets tossed up into the air. When the ball gets hit with top spin (as it's backspinning) that can cause the ball to move a bit more erratically in the air, making it harder to pass.
90th like, tysm for being there, ur first vid helped me so much and it was just for me to push myself, now I got a perfect toss, (albeit not always consistent) perfect jump(whenever my toss is good) and great ball contact when the first too are good, ty coach donny
I can serve from the side ( my body perpendicular to the court ) and make the ball goes on curve that nobody can catch , but I do not get it right at all the time, so not use it on the friendly games .
Hello, I'm a new follower, thank you for this tutorial. It's very helpful, not very, but very, very, very helpful, and I want to ask something about the figure for buying volleyball equipment. Is it possible for me from Indonesia to buy it with Indonesian National Currency (Rupiah) ?
Stretch ur legs and practice spiking, after having a good spike, work on jumping, any type of footwork and arm work can help u both on attacking and jumping higher.
what would u recommend to do to get more power in the serve. Like right now, i have an accurate serve but i have little power. When i do have power it only lands short.
coach donny im really passionate about this game and i want to play this in the summer but the programs around me are wayy out of my budget what do u think i should do to get off season practice when im finished with my season?
Do I still do the same step timing if I jump off one foot? My 1 foot vertical jump is about 32 inches. With 2 feet, probably 26 inches and less natural for me
My problem is that i really need to jump high. So the timing is always risky. I need a good good timing for my Jump so that i can get more power and speed into the Ball
Is it okay to wear leggings under shorts? I’m a girl and I don’t like revealing my skin too much and it feels weird (also because im hairy but we don’t talk about that), and I don’t think my mother would like that much. Plus, I feel like it would make me feel less exposed?

@@PartTimeEuphoRia mb lol. I personally think mediocre jump serves are easier to pass than a mediocre float serve especially in the womens net height. In the end, variety is what will really destroy your opponents but yeah a good float serve tends to be “easier” to learn and execute than a good jump serve while both have their own advantages
@@PartTimeEuphoRiaLearn them both, then combine them. A hybrid serve is DEADLY. I spent my first 2 years learning the jump serve and the float serve everyday. Now I can do a hybrid serve 3/10 times 😂 (it’s hard af)

I'll practice this everyday

I am a left dominant but still learns a lot from the coach😅😊
i'm so jealous of your jlin jerseys
❤best coach !!!!
yo! coach donny! please do a more intermediate guide on setting. like when to jump set or play making
jump setting: u never have to unless u can't reach it, play making: think about your players, matchup and what you can set lol
My kids are enjoying your tutorials Mr. Donny :)
That's great! Thanks for sharing them with your kids
Hey coach, can you also make a new video for jump floats? I haven't served in over 6 months and trying to get back into it.
Honestly I use 2 step approach
do u have any specific tips on how to do the toss consistently?
Need to throw some clips of #18 Miguel Lopez from team cuba serving
what are your current favorite shoes for volleyball right now and why?
it's a good serve, but i often find that it doesn't do too much damage in your matches. have you considered switching to a jump floater?
thanks coach.
Would love to work on a jump serve but have a goofy footed approach that I just can’t seem to fix
Are the Dame 8's still your go-to shoe?

I was wondering if you could help me I really want to get good at volleyball but I don't know where to start
Surprised you didn’t go over feet positioning for jump serving i.e., starting with left foot in front, both feet together, or right foot in front
been playing for about 9 weeks and i can make in 1 in 5 jump serves, my main issue is contact point and hitting strength
How can I gain more strength to do this? If I'm short and I play attacking, I have to have a jump and I don't have it and how can I jump higher?

Is it Possible to do a underhand float serve? Also, I'm quite short and get rotated into spiking position. how can i spike when im shorter
آیا میشود پرتاب اول را با دو دست بندازیم آیا فرقی در سرعت و قدرت ضربه توپ دارد؟
what can i do if i don't have a lot of serving space?
Hardest part for me is the toss
I struggle to force myself to wait on the toss
Often causing a rushed serve
Coach Donny what if I'm 5' 3 and play at high school
Do I still do the same step timing if I jump off one foot? My 1 foot vertical jump is about 32 inches. With 2 feet, probably 26 inches and less natural for me

My problem is that i really need to jump high. So the timing is always risky. I need a good good timing for my Jump so that i can get more power and speed into the Ball
If you cannot spike.. jump serving will be fraustrating to lear- (me a libero shifting to setter so i need to learn how to serve: )

I am right handed but my foot work is like a left handed player is that bad?
i want to join but i dont have money to pay for a membership
Idk but i dont get a good toss im trying one hand toss but its too hard and the 2 hand toss is hard to make it spin
So I learned how to jump serve at 11 but at 13 I only succeed like 60% of the time

I've seen jump serves mainly from men, does it make sense to learn as a woman also?
anyone who is decently athletic can perform a jumpserve
