Road Rash PC - Multiplayer Guide (TCP/IP)

- This is a guide for Road Rash PC to help people set up multiplayer game play with friends. Yes, in 2022 and beyond. This is the first method I tried after doing some research. It worked just fine for me, so I thought I would share. This video was requested by Samarth Gaming FF.
This guide will help you set up a network using Radmin VPN (for TCP/IP gameplay). I will show you how to download it and set up a network. You can also see how to setup multiplayer games in Road Rash.
I had to take apart an old ASUS laptop and replace all thermal compound and pads to test this. I apologize for the lag, and lack of video while using this laptop with Windows 7. The other PC was using Windows 10.
Level 2 Tournament with starter bikes coming soon!
Good luck! Happy Gaming!

If you're having trouble getting this to work. Check firewall settings, etc. Disable any programs that may conflict with Road Rash or other multiplayer games. Check if running different versions of Road Rash than your friends is what's causing problems. Hope it works.
Guys, I did the same procedure and it didn't work, the difference is that I used Hamachi, HOWEVER, in a last attempt I changed the option from playing only humans to playing with the AI, IT WORKED!!! I played online with ease!
Nice
Surely the VPN isn't needed if both machines are on the same LAN?
I am not sure. Theoretically it should work. I guess it depends on your setup and configurations. I haven’t set up a LAN in ages. Not sure what operating system offers support, or what kind of troubles you can run into using IPX.
When I join a game, it immediately disconnects by itself for no reason. The visibility is fine, it's just that i can't connect
Is the VPN disconnecting or is the game disconnecting? I am not sure 🤔 but if it’s the game it could be a firewall issue. Maybe checking your firewalls individually to allow access for Road Rash might help, in addition to the firewall part in this tutorial. Let me know if this helps or any updates to your situation.
@@infiniteroadrash no, i am not even using the VPN, because i have 2 computers and a laptop at home, so they are all linked to the same network. The game is discoverable among all computers, so the vpn is not the issue. For testing purposes, i even tried and downloaded Radmin for all 3 computers, and the result is the same. So, when the game is discovered on a client computer, when i try to join it, it appears a small dialog saying "connecting to DESKTOP-XXXXXX" (the PC name) for about 5 seconds. After that, it disappears. On the Host computer, it appears on the right side "Player 2 has left the game", although i couldn't even join to begin with......
There is a firewall exception for the game on all 3 computers, so i have literally no other idea as to what i could do to make it work....
I’m not too familiar with lan. But before this guide I read up a bit. I remember something about many things that lost support. My guess would be to check that firmware and drivers are as up to date as possible. Would probably have to be manually updated. Ethernet adapters, etc.
@@infiniteroadrash the game only supports LAN multiplayer, that’s why you would need Radmin VPN in the first place. So if you’re on the same network, you don’t need Radmin. Even so, as I’ve stated, I tried with Radmin too, more than once.
Regarding drivers, I have a paid software that keeps all of my drivers up to date. So I have no idea what could possibly be the reason….
You mentioned something in another comment regarding having different versions of the game. So, where did you get yours?
(Would be an interesting test if we could try playing together using Radmin, if you want sometime)
Sounds like a plan. Got a steam handle so we can communicate on there? I will add you later today and we could set up a time to test it.
Thanks bro
Any time
there's a limit of 8 players why not 15?
Well I did the same thing. But it seems my friend's server list is still empty even after rejoining many times. Also should we check the "public" button to allow through firewall for all players who joined my network?
I believe that the public button will allow more connections to go through firewalls. This is a more default type of action which may be all you need to allow the game to connect to others. If you have any other firewalls you may also need to specifically allow communication through those firewalls.
@@infiniteroadrash i still changed it to public, its not working yet
After being on public network did you click on “allow an app through firewall” link? What Operating System are you on? Also are you using any other firewalls or other apps that may be conflicting?
@@infiniteroadrash No I dont use any other firewalls app and yes, I made the road rash allowable to "public firewall" as well
Your friend should also do the same on their PC. If that doesn’t work, unfortunately I don’t know what the problem could be. All I did, was what I showed on the video. If firewall configuration looks good, the only thing I can suspect is some other app that may be running may be conflicting with firewall.
