@@MrNinjafreak Very bad idea. Sarah don't have any military background. Being Sam's daughter doesn't mean anything and there's already several potential successor to replace Fisher.
Splinter Cell veteran, fan and nerd here. The most important part of Splinter Cell that needs to come back is pacing. Having to wait around in corner or above ledge for longer time, listening to sexy soundtrack, absorbing environment and waiting for your moment to pass by unnoticed, that's what's Splinter Cell is about. Chaos Theory is praised because it's slow but you feel agile nonetheless. You always do something new and pace can be various and it adds to the tension. SC1 is my second favorite in series, and listening that choir ambient soundtrack in those Georgian locations is an experience. They need to find balance, slow creeping through shadows or swifter stealth when you rush to defuse bomb or save someone being still stealthy. And last thing is interactive enviroment. Having things to hack, break or find new way to sneak through. That's why interrogations were fun. You always could learn something new in each playthrough by guards or by yourself. My hopes are surprisingly high for now. And adding RTX to SC might be best use of that lighting system that game industry saw. I'm waiting Ubi, waiting patiently like Fisher in the shadows. Cheers
EddieTheBunny. Wow. I feel old. I was 17 when Blacklist came out, and I remember anytime you voiced your opinion on the game when it was coming out, on new Blacklist videos that would get uploaded, hundreds of users would attack you and call you names in the comments. 2013 is when the Splinter Cell community got toxic and it’s nothing but Ubisoft’s fault. I disagree with all the things you’ve said about Conviction (since that wasn’t really a Splinter Cell game as more a spin off game of Sam Fisher) but I knew you were a true Splinter Cell fan after all the great things you’ve said about the first 3 games. Blacklist had the perfect chance to go back to Chaos Theory roots, but instead it was another 3rd person shooter disguised as a Splinter Cell game. I feel like Ubisoft and Splinter Cell died with Conviction. And the fact that it’s Ubisoft Toronto working on the remake is very concerning. This remake is the last chance for Ubisoft to redeem the franchise. Ironside has to come back, and if they do the performance capture stuff with a new actor, he has to look like Sam and sound like Sam, or I’m out. Splinter Cell fans deserve better, and I wouldn’t mind by this point if the rights were sold to another company. Ubisoft just isn’t the 2002-2010 days anymore, and I don’t think they know how to bring the true Ubisoft back. Great video, btw. Hope you make more since you have one of the greatest perspectives of this franchise. Sorry that people were so mean to you in the comments back in the day. People didn’t want to listen but you were right. You predicted exactly what was gonna happen with the franchise 10 years ago.
I wonder a lot who could do Splinter Cell justice if they had the rights to it. I really hope the series could remain true to itself and surge in popularity like Dark Souls did.
No forced action sequences. Splinter Cell: SAR the original was majority of the time a "pure stealth" game until some sections it wasn't. It had like 4 forced action sequences that the og developers wanted you to obviously kill and engage into firefights, but the forced action gunplay just felt so bad and clunky. This idea of the first splinter cell not having "some" action focus just isn't true. I would like for them to get rid of any forced action sequences in the remake, and please no daylight missions.
One thing I would add is creating the most immersive realism. Have the best particle effects and gore. If you shoot a light, there should be glass on the ground that creates sound when stepped on, and there should be a shell casing on the floor, and a bullet hole in the light. The realism was high 20 years ago. Today, it should be the new peak.
I miss the laser microphone. I felt like an actual spy... spying on people... in a spy game. Amazing, right? Apparently Ubisoft didn't get the memo and assumed Sam was some kind of high tech AssCreed character, or Batman with guns. Spying on and listening to NPCs slows down the game, but it should be rewarding as to give players intel about the level. I didn't get that at all in Blacklist.
I agree with most of what you said but I still think it's too early to talk about, we'll have to see what Ubisoft's goal with this remake is when a gameplay trailer or something like that drops
Completely true, my fear however is that they're in a pre-alpha state and it'll be too late to fix any fundamental stuff. Hopefully the video uploaded in time for them to consider my suggestions.
THANK YOU!!! I am glad someone is like-minded like me. I am tired of "run and gun splinter cell." I want it slow and stealthy. I especially loved Chaos Theory with the sound meter where noises can block some of my movements. I didn't mind Double Agent, although I was disappointed in the gameplay slightly, but I still enjoyed it. Conviction was okay too and I thought it was okay for the time considering the story, but damn do I miss the classics.
HE HAS RETURNED TO THE SPLINTER CELL TOPICS :O Kept us waiting, huh? on the real, missed these kinds of vids from ya, homie :) less than a minute into the vid and seems much more calm/tame than the vids years ago (stating the obvious, kinda) but still very much love seeing SC vids uploaded nonetheless from you!! I'll hush up now and gather more of my thoughts when i finish up this vid; jus couldn't help myself from commenting immediately after clicking on the thumbnail xD
video fully watched now and dude...this might be ur best video yet :D pretty much agree with everything you said; as for 1 thing in particular that was briefly talked about that will probably not happen is that "tom clancy" type of vibe/connotation with Splinter Cell. I have a feeling we won't be getting a story that is as grounded/near-future oriented as the first 3 games, just simply based upon the type of devs/writers working within these AAA companies like Ubisoft. That being said, i still think they should be talented/more than capable enough to tell a way better story than Conviction/Blacklist (i stand by the fact that Double Agent was a good story, with a great premise, but just that a few parts of it, though those few parts were pretty important, were quite flawed/poorly executed)
Great video, it's nice to see you back talking about Splinter Cell ! Hopefully this time the devs will really listen to us and understand that we are the main audience. And also understand that many players from younger generations never experienced a real stealth game so there's a good potential to make the audience grow, but it'll happen only if they do things the right way...
The ultimate goal is to stay away from another Assassin’s Creed copy paste with different theme on it. Almost everyone is afraid of two things: rewrites for modern audience and mechanics of Conviction/Blacklist. I have the same concerns. Don’t get me wrong, both games are good overall but they have nothing to do with the franchise that was established from the first to the fourth game. They lack many things, especially this specific, unique atmosphere and aesthetics. I hope that they will stick closely to the roots of the series in the upcoming remake.
Seems I'm one of those rare people who would play Chaos Theory with mechanics - or better say physics - of the first game. The physics of CT never clicked on me: character models feel like piece of paper, the animations of grabbing enemy and front knockout are lame, slow crouching looks like Sam have got something stuck in his ass. But there were improvements as well, of course.
oh hey long time no see eddie! I remember when the latest SC got released the same year as GTA V, it would be extremely awkward if we had a new gta before a new SC heh...
I got into splinter cell like SUPER late. 2 years ago almost exactly, and since i legit have fallen super in love with this series. Idk whether to be excited or worried or both for this remake, but alot of the shit said in this video could not have been said better. All we can do is pray Ubisoft actually listens 😭
i agree with everything that was said in the video. on the question of games that have a niche audience i find it very difficult on the part of ubisoft to listen to this because it is in a phase (since 2013) competing for the games market including everything that pleases "everyone". And let's face it, if this game does come out, it's more likely to be bad than good, given all the discrepancies the company makes with its games.
I remember renting the original Splinter Cell from a Hollywood Video 😳. The gameplay pulled me in so much I had to buy it. The original trilogy are among my favorite games. Games today are so frantic & hyper. I hope they get the pacing & style of the originals right. I worry they don’t know how to make a good single player game anymore.
Keep all the existing gameplay elements intact with new movement and gunplay, keep the shadows pitch-black. That’s it. Nooooo Ubisoft I see you tryna change the level designs and make light sources not shootable. Don’t do that. Noooope I see you tryna make the shadows a dark navy blue for “visibility”. Stop that. Don’t do it. Leave everything the same except the graphics and movement.
Absolutely hit the nail on the head. Im close to my 40's, getting SC1 on OG Xbox was something else man. Sc2 was fantastic too, but SC CT was on another lvl. I really hope they handle it with care, but seeing its 2024 Ubisoft, cant say im hyped. More like, im worried.
I was wondering where ya went after the closure of the forums. You had some of the best suggestions for the franchise, they ought to listen to you as well.
@@EddieTheBunny I'm still sneaking around here and there, not very active on socials, really glad to hear from you again, we had a lot of fun at the ubi forums.
For me, realism and immersion are super important as well. Even if it's not fully realistic, the closer and more authentic, the better. Lockpicking in the first game that I thought, "yeah , this is believable. Someone doing that type of work would likely have that skill/equipment." Also little bonus options that reward curiousity and exploration. Oh cool, you can switch off the generator, or break it so it can't be turned back on, each option having benefits and drawbacks. It'd be cool to find an electrical room and turn off certain breakers or something like that. It could go super in depth with it where it obviously could be too much to fit into a game without neglecting other aspects, but just saying those kind of touches really help with immersion. They should do some research with actual red teams and integrate some of that kind of stuff.
9:59 I actually think it would be really cool to have the advertising be in the game world. Like there’s a TV playing a Ubisoft ad for Assassin’s Creed, or have a billboard in the background of a map with like a Pepsi ad or whatever other sponsor they have. They did this in CT somewhat and it could absolutely work for the remake without breaking immersion.
YES. A lot of their self promotion was in the single player but one of the other cool things was how real world products would be on posters in the multiplayer maps. It was a clever way of advertising without shoving it in the player's face.
Great video. I fully agree about "modernizing the story". Let's hope that they won't give us some crappy stuff a la CoD, and change just some details for avoid controversies.
Well said. I'm jonesing for even just a port on ps4 or 5. That said, all your points, especially be the best version of splinter cell, are exactly what is needed.
I also watched mutahars video about the remake and he even mentioned the thing that made the 2002 game great was the feeling of being weak when spotted and strong when hidden! If there’s one thing Ubisoft needs to get right with the remake it’s the gameplay!
Definitely expect Splinter Cell remake to have the multiple playstyles again. Even the original encouraged you to get loud by giving you frag grenades and wall mines… just make ghosting the best way to play.
I know I might get hated for this but I hope both SC20K and Pistol be accurate this time around especially if I take time for it to be focus similar to RE2 Remake, that's my major problem in the original game especially when using a pistol in order to shoot the light. Also Sam Fisher is a highly trained soldier which mean he could accurately shoot both the rifle and the pistol in "close range"
I remeber you made a video once about how technically no mission in blacklist is truly ghostable due to certain cutscenes or objectives in the missions. I personally don’t mind having options for an aggressive playstyle, but seeing ghosting being put to the side in a stealth game is quite dissapointing. I do want to see this francise continue, but idk if modern day ubisoft would do it justice. Critical Nobody made a great video on that particulat topic as well.
but thats like a total lie? Ive just played Blacklist a few weeks ago and its more like that most missions can be played as a ghost and only a few of the missions make it difficult with forced action sequences. I felt like there were only 1 or 2 instances that made it impossible. But I think the game does account for that so on the scoreboard you can still make it a ghost run even though you were seen in the forced sequences. Also the first two Splinter Cell games had those forced action moments where you were forced to to actively shoot people as well.
@@mcslothalot Not saying that the other games were flawless with ghosting, Chaos Theory had several forced sequences, like in bathhouse and the final mission. But I have played through Blacklist several times, and every single main story mission has at least one thing that breaks a rule of ghosting. To be clear, ghosting is completing a level without touching a guard, or leaving a trace of you being there (like shooting out a light). It's not being simply non lethal, it's completing your objective without there ever being evidence that you were there. -Blacklist Zero The game forces you to take out some guards at a checkpoint. -Safehouse All of the guards interrogating Kobin need to be neutralized before proceeding. -Insurgent Stronghold Interrogating the former MI6 agent. -American Consumption Interrogating the drone operator in the tunnel. -Private Estate Breaking into the secret room as well as having to neutralize the oncoming enemies afterwards. -Abandoned Mill Killing a guard not even 10 seconds into the mission, along with the part after Briggs rescues Sam. -Special Missions HQ Blackmailing the Iranian guy and then having that blackout in the beginning of the mission, and the use of the drone in the end. -Transit Yards All of the Briggs FPS gameplay, along with the final chase in the subway. -Detention Facility Sam taking out a guard whilst interrogating the guy with connections to Sadiq. -Airstrip Just one big firefight where all enemies have to be neutralised. -LNG Terminal Final chase. -Site F Briggs giving himself up near the end of the mission.
Back around 2013 my favorite genre of games was stealth action. Back when pure stealth games were still releasing, although near death already. Some immersive sims were a decent compensation until those stopped being made. Over the past decade I've been predominantly playing souls games, which have quickly become my new favorite subgenre. But sometimes I really miss that rush I would get from chaos theory. I have no hopes for ubisoft. Im waiting for MGS3 remake.
Agree with every single take man. You completely understand SplinterCell. I'm a huge fan but you're a huger fan (lol) and my hat is off to you. Having said that. I have 0 faith Ubisoft will be able to deliver a good remake. The only way it could be good is if all they do is completely overhaul the graphics but leave the gameplay and systems entirely alone. Like what happened with Halo Anniversary. Game looked incredible but it was really the same old game. Do i wish for the remake to be a complete remake? Absolutely! However, we know the devs who were passionate about splinter cell with the supervision of the Clancy man himself.. those devs are gone. If Tom Clancy could see what Ubisoft has done with his brand with Rainbow 6, Ghost Recon, and SplinterCell (talking about Conviction and Blacklist) well.. he'd be pretty upset. Sam Fisher deserved better. I never want to be a negative nancy but i fully expect the game to look good graphics wise and possibly even play smooth but play well? Meh. It will likely have optional microtransactions (which still aren't ok imo for a games like splinter cell or AssCreed or FarCry). It will have janky contectual controls instead of grounded controls (ie waiting for button prompts to appear on the screen in order to do specific actions). And light and sound meters as well as variable movement speed controls... will likely not be implemented. I'm positive the detection system in Blacklist will be reused and that's a shame. All that being said i hope I'm very wrong. Great video man. Apologies for the essay of a comment, but I'm passionate about these things and seeing the poor state of all these triple A companies is frustrating to witness. They are so very out of touch. P.S. Assassins Creed Mirage was super mid and Ubisoft said it was a return to form. Just felt like they missed the mark in a lot of ways. The small details and freedom are what made the old Ubi games so good.
Actually I enjoy long comments. I appreciate them a lot. I understand why you're saying you have no faith because I'm kind of on the same level but that one small ounce of hope I have is the reason I made this video. It's kind of an "I told you so" video in advance for when or if the remake actually does poorly. I already called out Blacklist years ago before it released which then caused the community developer to cease all communication with me about the game(To be fair I wasn't the most polite). Then the game released and turns out I was absolutely correct on how the game would turn out. This is more of a "polite" way of saying the remake has to be this way and if it isn't we're gonna see Blacklist all over again just as I said Blacklist was going to be Conviction all over again a decade ago. I would just like to see at least one more Splinter Cell game that is good.
Good video and I agree they need to go back to the classics. The 2 speed feature in blacklist was terrible and it makes it feel like you have to rush. I like the slower pace of the first few games and it feels I can control my character better
Your ideas are cool, but even Chaos Theory have missions that you can't play full ghost with 0 knockouts. Because of a objective or impossible to pass without take down the enemie. For example... Mission 1: 2 knockout . One for radio objective and other for extraction. Mission 4: 1 knockout for interrogate objective. Mission 7: 1 knockout for interrogate objective. Mission 2: 1 kill for objective. Mission 9: Kill Shetland in the end.
Lighthouse(1) has only 1 for extraction The radio can be done without knockouts Displace(4) can be done with 0 knockouts Battery (7) can also be done with 0 knockouts
Yeah, that "...modern audiences..." has me worried too. Whatever that modern audiences mean. Probably drugged out of their mind, beer drinking and texting kids. Stealth games are about being patient and methodical, not hopping around like a rabbit on acid, in any first person shitter. Recently, i was watching another video about Splinter Cell and he was saying something like : "...we hired testers for the game and as soon as they sat down and got hold of the controls, they were looking for something to shoot...". So much for brains, maybe they should hire middle aged testers instead of texting kids.
I think that means they're either hiring the wrong people or the gameplay is once again a cover based third person shooter and I fear it's the latter. Gameplay implies/incites a ton of things and Ubisoft constantly underestimates that.
@@EddieTheBunny I think that it's the damn texting. 20 years ago, when i first played SWG and WoW, people were typing full words, sentences, etc and they were helpful. Nowadays they don't help and they don't type, except some shitty abreviations. hf, gl, smh, gz...etc..whatever the fuck they mean. Same goes for the gameplay too. Brainless first person shitters, a walking gun shooting at everything that moves. Well, for me, that's gets boring after the first 10 minutes.
I know it's not the same and you know this but the weakest parts of OG Splinter Cell were in-your-face action sequences as well. (though i find them exciting in OG) There's not a single game in the series without them except maybe Chaos Theory. What i hate about Blacklist is simply how it's played. It is way too streamlined just like other Ubi titles, where you just push a button and game plays itself for you. It's so boring.
That is not small at all. The jump button provided so much freedom in the game. What you just said is something I've wanted for the longest time. Contextualized movement/traversal is super limiting.
I hated the panther playstyle idea. Clearing a whole damn room isn't stealthy at all. That's painting the town red. I don't give a damn that nobody saw me; the end result and the means/tools to do so are pretty much the same: everything is still lethal and I'm only half-assing the idea of stealth because at least no alarms were raised. But then realistically, if everyone went dead and they had radios, reinforcements absolutely would be summoned in spite of no alarms because no one is answering the comms.
I WONDER if that could me implemented in a special sort of mode. Where suspicious events are radioed in or when a guard is not where they're supposed to be, it's mentioned on radio. Or if you have the missing guy in a grab you could tell him to radio in that he's fine, kind of like you did when you raised the sub in Pandora Tomorrow. Just a thought that came to mind after reading your comment. I get excited just thinking about that stuff.
@@EddieTheBunny I think MGSV did that. MGSV did so many things right that I can't believe Ubisoft didn't even take notes. Venom Snake could have so many options when holding a guy hostage, yet Eric Fisher can only do 3 things, none of which were interrogation.
@@agt_pendergast8899 I loved MSG2! And IMO Camp Omega was peak MGSV. The level design was more sandboxy and full of life than the empty desert of Afghanistan. That is what I think a modern Splinter Cell needs to study. In fact, if you compare Camp Omega to Blacklist's Gitmo, the comparison is night and day.
SLOW gameplay Separate Gunfight and infiltration like Old games HUD elements from Double Agent V2/Chaos theory DARK GAME Sames voices No random cutscence when we can just listen to a discussion without it Ennemis have to run up to the alarm to activate it GOOD IA Even if you're 30m away from the Ennemi if he's looking at you when you're visible he will see you (infinite range) Good level design that allow you to complete your objectives in the order you want. etc
As long as michael ironside is there, I'll play it. Dam it though, ubisoft destroys everything in their path now, it ain't right. Giving all of these legendary games a shovel to dig their own graves with.
Michael Ironside as Sam Fisher is an obvious miss, but I also miss Don Jordan as Lambert. Without Lambert it just doesn't feel right for me. Or at least they could make new proper, worthy and no less memorable voice cast.
Saying they only dropped stinkers and bad games from who's pov? Their games are top sellers every year and usually outselling the previous games within each franchise.
A frustraiting game for all the reasons you noted , one easy option should have been X-Y stick input sensativity sliding bar like a lot of other games , got pissed off with the scolded cat actions of the charictor ......
Ubisoft wants instant profit and splinter cell being niche isn't helping, also since people are "hypocritical" and won't like stealth games' frustrations as much as they love dark souls' ones
I have no problem with the story being re-written for a modern time. Splinter Cell’s 1 story is very forgettable with no interesting cast of characters except for Lambert, and he just bosses you around. Grimm’s presence is pretty small, and Wilke’s death comes and goes pretty quick. Rewriting these things, as well as creating a stronger story makes for a better game and a stronger likelihood for sequels. I hope the original trilogy gets the Resident Evil treatment.
@@EddieTheBunny whatever it is, I know it’ll be better because the tech we have now tells a way better story. I just finished the splinter cell 1 story and those cutscenes were… a product of their time. Random news stations cutting up static, some OG Xbox guy with no fingers shaking his hand at the screen yelling about America, reading a summary and clicking fire to continue… new game will definitely need to be better at the storytelling to invest players
@@TheAwesomejuan I definitely agree with you. Splinter Cell 1 was great for its time, and the stealth gameplay holds up well. The graphics, visuals attracted players back then. In the reviews, it did very well. however going back to replay this, the story presentation is pretty jarring. I think people are overreacting with the modern audience stuff. I mean, ubisoft does have a bad track record but i dont think they'll make the story woke, sam being gay, trans characters etc. The story needs to be worked on alot, i mean i did like sc1's plot, but it did need more depth. They need to change a lot to it, and yeah Grims presence was minimal. wilkes death felt rushed. this game basically needs a RE4 style remake. i agree with you. tbh i replayed it again last week along with PT and CT and they were all so fun to play- but SC1 needs so much work on the storyfront to attract more players and get them invested. I believe they'll do it justice
@@KingsOfZeal haha so crazy how I was thinking about the graphical and technical aspect of “modern audiences” and other people were thinking about LGBTQ stuff. Is that really what we’re worried about?
I disagree with one thing: if you think Splinter Cell will have a future like From Software's games by being only slow and methodical and a fragile protagonist..., basically pleasing only the Purists, the Remake will sell because it's Sam Fisher's comeback, but what comes next will make disappointing sales and the license will fall dormant again for another decade. The game must also offer the possibility of stealth kills and aggressive fun, to play the way you want. Zero kill, hit, everything ok, but it has to appeal to the general public too. As some on youtube are saying, the infiltration genre isn't as popular as it used to be. Some even say that the stealth genre is dead. So it has to evolve, and other franchises have understood this. Hitman is evolving, Metal Gear is evolving, Splinter Cell needs to evolve too, while keeping what it does best. The ability to be aggressive or a stealth hunter is also a good thing. For example, MGSV wouldn't have this great gameplay if they'd kept the same approach as the 1st game on every game. Splinter Cell fans want to stay as it was 20 years ago and pretend to forget that gamers' expectations today are different and that technologies have evolved.
Well said, purists always think they have it all figured out but don't have the actual data insight of the devs. Devs knew that 90% of the players of even classic SC games didn't so by ghosting the games, in fact not even 5% of the players would be considered in that. Even Soulslikes figured out that they need to evolve, newer games in genre offer a lot more options on how to tackle the game and have become a lot faster than they used to be.
If you want to play the way you want go play something else I dont hear anyone saying darksouls need to be less difficult. That is the appeal of the game Just like that stealth is the appeal here If you want to gun down enemies without consequences go play shooters 3rd person or 1st person
Also hitman went back to its roots in gameplay Only the visuals changed MGS 5 plays like 4 with some stuff removed and others added They didn't evolve If anything they kept what worked and removed what didn't
MGSV had the same type of stealth as Splinter Cell Blacklist and Conviction and it is nothing like Splinter Cell I think Kojima is overrated and I love all the Splinter Cell games especially the old ones
Just dont get your hopes up, remember how they (eidos) massacre Thief? Yeap... I know it's different studios, but splinter cell and thief are the same hardcore stealth genre
i agree whit you, but i just dont trust Ubisoft whit splinter cell, at all, and they dont talked about the remake, make me think, aha this is just like the talk, about the sp.c. movie that never happent remember, so i think the remake will never come, Ubisoft just want the costumers attention nothing ells, sadly
Yeah especially since mocap gave Blacklist that super realistic movement that made the game look super smooth. OG Splinter Cell was made in a world without mocap; we’re never going back to that again. Mocap is here to stay and asking for no mocap is like asking Netflix to send you DVDs instead
What he said is reduce the amount of cutscenes There are cutscenes that are not necessary in blacklist Hell the amount of cutscenes that show bullshit in blacklist is too much
All ubisoft makes is trash trash trash trash trash games.I'm not expecting them to make an old school classic splinter cell game again because they don't no how anymore. All they no how to make is copy and paste assassin's creed shit
Being right wing and even fascist means you are in a minority, modern audiences doesn't mean left wing propaganda. It just means people have moved on from the vile conservative views.

I'm curious how they'll handle the end of abbatoir. That was the only forced gunfight section I liked

@@aphextwin8520 ah yeah, I remember that. That's definitely being changed in the remake heavily
If they need daylight missions they should make it toggleable with a story reason. Different enemy paths based on day would be cool.
9:56 Hahaha Ubisoft gameplay focus & no ads or microtransactions that's a good one.
That is one of the best ideas I’ve seen brought up. I am 100% on board.
I'll hush up now and gather more of my thoughts when i finish up this vid; jus couldn't help myself from commenting immediately after clicking on the thumbnail xD
video fully watched now and dude...this might be ur best video yet :D
pretty much agree with everything you said; as for 1 thing in particular that was briefly talked about that will probably not happen is that "tom clancy" type of vibe/connotation with Splinter Cell.
Thank you, man.
It’s good to see ya again. I don’t think Splinter Cell will ever completely leave my life. It’s a part of me.
Great video, it's nice to see you back talking about Splinter Cell ! Hopefully this time the devs will really listen to us and understand that we are the main audience. And also understand that many players from younger generations never experienced a real stealth game so there's a good potential to make the audience grow, but it'll happen only if they do things the right way...
the ultimate goal is to keep it realistic
The ultimate goal is to stay away from another Assassin’s Creed copy paste with different theme on it. Almost everyone is afraid of two things: rewrites for modern audience and mechanics of Conviction/Blacklist. I have the same concerns.
Don’t get me wrong, both games are good overall but they have nothing to do with the franchise that was established from the first to the fourth game. They lack many things, especially this specific, unique atmosphere and aesthetics. I hope that they will stick closely to the roots of the series in the upcoming remake.
The JBA does not appreciate Ubisoft puttinG OUR CREW in ELITE SQUAD
Elite squad is dead, son
It’s Moss.
Calm down Moose.
I'm glad you're finally back after five years, and you're doing great right now. Keep it up.
Honestly I'd just love to be able to play maps from Pandora Tomorrow and the first game with Chaos Theory mechanics.
Haha, I'm thinking about that too.
I hope it has split screen
The latest Prince of Persia is actually quite good! Early trailers made it look lame but it’s actually a great metroidvania. So there is some hope!
I just want all the cut content back in the remake. The story was all over the place
Excellent video Eddie! Lets hope Ubisoft actually hears us this time, I doubt it but I welcome any surprise at this point
I was wondering where ya went after the closure of the forums. You had some of the best suggestions for the franchise, they ought to listen to you as well.
Lol you two are legends man, I remember browsing old sc forums and seeing you guys everywhere. SC agent 95 I remember you
@@EddieTheBunny I'm still sneaking around here and there, not very active on socials, really glad to hear from you again, we had a lot of fun at the ubi forums.
You pretty much nailed it spot on... Ubisoft Toronto need to see this but I hope they're listening..
Spoken like true Splinter Cell fan.
Thank you for this
9:59 I actually think it would be really cool to have the advertising be in the game world.
I was glad to see a mainstream UA-camr say that about Splinter Cell. Hopefully they take what he said about the game seriously.
We need all that plus a faithful remaster of Pandora Tomorrow / Chaos Theory SvM.
Ubisoft please listen to this guy !!
Definitely expect Splinter Cell remake to have the multiple playstyles again. Even the original encouraged you to get loud by giving you frag grenades and wall mines… just make ghosting the best way to play.
but cahos theory still lets you get 100% success rating even if you knock out the players
-Blacklist Zero
The game forces you to take out some guards at a checkpoint.
-Safehouse
All of the guards interrogating Kobin need to be neutralized before proceeding.
-Insurgent Stronghold
Interrogating the former MI6 agent.
-American Consumption
Interrogating the drone operator in the tunnel.
-Private Estate
Breaking into the secret room as well as having to neutralize the oncoming enemies afterwards.
-Abandoned Mill
Killing a guard not even 10 seconds into the mission, along with the part after Briggs rescues Sam.
-Special Missions HQ
Blackmailing the Iranian guy and then having that blackout in the beginning of the mission, and the use of the drone in the end.
-Transit Yards
All of the Briggs FPS gameplay, along with the final chase in the subway.
-Detention Facility
Sam taking out a guard whilst interrogating the guy with connections to Sadiq.
-Airstrip
Just one big firefight where all enemies have to be neutralised.
-LNG Terminal
Final chase.
-Site F
Briggs giving himself up near the end of the mission.
This is a Certified Hood Classic
They need to make it like chaos theory but really pretty and modern
I like blacklist because coop is so much fun tbh
Nice return Eddie
And cutscenes pitting us in the middle of a fire fight ..😢 anoying 😡
Great video, even if I disagree with many of your opinions. I would love Ubisoft to actually *try* to do the old sc gameplay.
10 years old I was playing this game and hide and go seek tag in the dark with friends. Life was good. Now not so much
Your ideas are cool, but even Chaos Theory have missions that you can't play full ghost with 0 knockouts.
Lighthouse(1) has only 1 for extraction
The radio can be done without knockouts
Displace(4) can be done with 0 knockouts
Battery (7) can also be done with 0 knockouts
great video. 100% spot on.
Honestly you nailed it
If only...
Give us chaos theory single player and SvM multiplayer gameplay and I’ll be happy as can be
I know it's not the same and you know this but the weakest parts of OG Splinter Cell were in-your-face action sequences as well. (though i find them exciting in OG) There's not a single game in the series without them except maybe Chaos Theory. What i hate about Blacklist is simply how it's played. It is way too streamlined just like other Ubi titles, where you just push a button and game plays itself for you. It's so boring.
This may seem small, but I miss the jump button. I'm so tired of this :press x to jump/move to cover/etc"
@@EddieTheBunnyI believe you could also do that in DAV2
@@TrueMentorGuidingMoonlight MGS2 did that on PS2, no reason a modern day Splinter Cell game couldn't, other than Ubi being Ubi.
SLOW gameplay
Separate Gunfight and infiltration like Old games
HUD elements from Double Agent V2/Chaos theory
DARK GAME
Sames voices
No random cutscence when we can just listen to a discussion without it
Ennemis have to run up to the alarm to activate it
GOOD IA
Even if you're 30m away from the Ennemi if he's looking at you when you're visible he will see you (infinite range)
Good level design that allow you to complete your objectives in the order you want.
etc
As long as michael ironside is there, I'll play it. Dam it though, ubisoft destroys everything in their path now, it ain't right.
Giving all of these legendary games a shovel to dig their own graves with.
Just give us chaos theory again. I miss spies vs mercs so bad.
Great video
What happened to your old Splinter Cell videos?
Just another chaos theory.. that's all!
I'm baffled how people still think this is a good argument as if the number of sales is in any way indicative of the game's quality.
did you delete your old videos from 2013 or something?
No, but the channel is currently having an identity crisis.
@@EddieTheBunny why cuz your channel is mostly known for talking about why blacklist is bad?
i agree goodbye
If Ubi doesnt aspire to make this SC1 remake to be on par or better than that MGS3 remake, then it's dead in water for me already. Just pointless.
Good video but i don't think they will made a proper remake.
Please please please go play the Styx games.

GO PLAY THEM.
I did.
It's the "Modern Audience" part that the issue is.
@@TheAwesomejuanit's not the tech
It's what the guys do with it that matters
I'm willing to bet it's gonna be some open world live service garbage
If you want to play the way you want go play something else
I dont hear anyone saying darksouls need to be less difficult. That is the appeal of the game
Just like that stealth is the appeal here
If you want to gun down enemies without consequences go play shooters 3rd person or 1st person
@@H4WKB13 souls like created their identity by being souls

Man, how cool would it be if the dev's actually saw and listened to this...
Then the game would be dead in the water. Selling less than half a milliom copies at best.
They are far in to development bro. They did a development diary talking about the level designs. They are already making levels
I absolutely have 0,0 problems with cutscenes and mocap, so, u cant mandate for everyone that nobody wants this.
Yeah especially since mocap gave Blacklist that super realistic movement that made the game look super smooth. OG Splinter Cell was made in a world without mocap; we’re never going back to that again. Mocap is here to stay and asking for no mocap is like asking Netflix to send you DVDs instead
