  • Gaming Pastime reviews Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell for PC.
Developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell was released for PC in 2003. Splinter Cell is a solid stealth game only held back by its linearity.
Intro is from the PlayStation 3 version.

Metal Gear Solid may have popularized the stealth-action genre but, Splinter Cell helped to redefine it. Thanks, Ubisoft!

Yup, that's my absolute favourite Splinter Cell game there. I find changing movement speed with the mouse scroll to be one of the greatest invention in TPS gaming. Initially I thought that the "silent sweep" mechanic is straight up revolting, but then I got used to hiding every body perfectly, so much so that since then I do the same in pretty much every stealth game.

This game has one of my favorite soundtracks, and it’s criminally underrated too.

Great review! One thing I want to emphasize for people who weren't around when this game came out.....

Michael Ironside was the perfect casting for Sam Fisher. We need another game soon.

Yooo, can't wait for the Chaos Theory review

The first three Splinter Cell games are great. I remember replaying them until I mastered everything to get past as many enemies as possible without killing or touching them.

I have loved this game since childhood. this atmosphere, music and the feeling that you are where passage is prohibited.

I appreciate the consistency of this channel's reviews so much. Remarkably underrated. Bless you mate.

Really good review! SC1 is a lot more frustrating if you play the console versions which don't have quick saves and rely on sparse checkpoints. On PC just having quick saves makes a big difference. I'd be interested in seeing reviews of other SC games from you!

The interesting thing especially about the first Game is my own experience with it.

  • @konradfun

I wanna say maybe the framerate issues you're referring to came from how the game will run at 1080p if your PS3 is set to it in the XMB. It's one of those games where setting the console to 720p improves performance drastically.

BlackList was my favorite one because all the customization & speed you have in that game, it made you feel like an Apex Predator. But I enjoyed Conviction story more.

Great Review, the og Splinter Cell is kind of a 1 and done. Chaos Theory was IMO the best outing in the series. The coop that Chaos boasted turned the feel of stealth up to 12. It was way ahead of its time with the way it made the players communicate and achieve goals with things like partner moves, splitting paths, coop take downs, and the audio pick up if you both are talking to loud. If you have some time and a friend highly recommend. Conviction tried their hand at it with an ok result. Its not as ''hard core" as Chaos, but still worth the time.
