Thank you for the review. I have the Max and am thinking about getting the .22LR so my wife can shoot it at the range and if she likes it, then it might be a good first carry for her with the mag loaded with alternating CCI Uppercuts and Federal Punch. I have both the TX22 and TX22 compact that I think will be great for her to learn on as well but the LCP II will be a better carry size as she has small hands and is about 5' 4" and 120 pounds.
The safety and the magazine disconnect are easy to take care of.
I need TOTAL concealment, so the LCP Max is my carry - there is nothing else that offers the size/firepower ratio. No other .380 is as easy to carry, even with the extended mag and 13 rounds!
At first, I found it to be a difficult gun to shoot, and it took me a while to attain an acceptable level of proficiency. But after a few trips to the range and a few hundred rounds, I'm very confident in its task as a daily carry.
No offense to anyone, but I wouldn't carry a .22 for personal defense when the Max .380 is available with a very slight size increase. YMMV.
BTW, if you pull the slide back a hair, the pin comes out easier just like when you put it back in.
How does the trigger feel between the 2?
Does the slide match the same for both
Close, but not exact, but I think that has more to do with .22lr vs .380.
Which one shoots the best
Lcp max is 10x better shooting than the LCP 2 22lr. I have both and the Max is much more accurate and almost exactly the same size in my pocket and fits all the same leather holsters. I put all the Galloway Precision upgraded springs, Sigurd Short stroke, Flat face Trigger and the TruGlo Tritium Pro Night sights. The sights are a big improvement and raised the point of impact closer to the sight picture over the stock sights. I’ve put 500 rounds down range without a single malfunction. Multiple brands of ball ammo and 100 Hornady Critical Defense Hollow Points. I trust it more every time I shoot it. It’s a great little handgun.
The Max rattles a lot louder than the LR 22.
I hear that goes away with you insert a loaded mag.
