    To answer the most common questions in the comments section:
    1.) Quality videos like this take a lot of time to produce. This and the next took me over 300hrs.
    2.) Follow me on Instagram "ChrisFixit" for daily updates and tips and tricks.
    3.) The exhaust on the car is the performance exhaust, just used on the track.
    4.) The speedometer is fine... it spun all the way around at the last drift event and I havent had a chance to take the gauge cluster out and push it back to the other side of the peg.
    5.) The other red Mustang is from this video: ua-cam.com/video/N-exs1iMLFU/v-deo.html

    This is why I drive automatics. Lol good work Chris. My dad and I replaced his clutch on a late 90s camaro. Took like 5 hours but we were a 33 year old with bad eyesight and a distracted 14 year old who just wanted a wataburger when we were done. Also didn't have a transmission jack. Dad was benchpressing the transmission while I shoved it forward to install. He knew what he was doing, but I lacked the skills to be of any real use. Wish I would have taken it all more seriously at that time and appreciated the time spent together. Thanks for the memories

      That's honestly a hilarious picture you paint, I can just see it. My grandpa used to be a mechanic and apparently his relatives where staying with him and their car had something wrong with the transmission. He said they got into a fight and he went out and removed and replaced the transmission in like 2 or 3 hours and told them to leave.
      If I remember right they kept eating food they bought for their three kids and they weren't exactly rich.

    this guy is seriously the best. tutorial vids are usually harder to make than most youtube videos because they have to be thorough and detailed while also not being concise by showing the most important parts and not simply showing a 6 hour long video. chris fix has NEVER failed to deliver. and he always goes the extra mile to lay out the parts and explain what could go wrong and what could be different with different cars.

    I had fun doing this a few years ago for my 94 Mazda B2300. Clutch went out, and I had barely any money so I did the whole job with a few harbor freight sockets, extensions, torque wrench, and jack stands. Everything else was by hand, I had to lay the transmission on my chest and knees to get it off and on. Even used the truck's jack to lift the truck because I didn't have a proper jack at the time. Really taught me how much can be done with simple hand tools, and I haven't been scared about any other repair job since then.

My 00' Mustang sat for almost 2 months in my friends driveway (My first car and I really have affection for it haha) after we saw your video on how to replace a transmission we decided we would give it a try. None of us (three people counting) has ever done such thing, the most we have done is change a motor oil, but thanks to this video and the sequel of "How to replace a clutch" we were able to fix my car this sunday January 20th, after 10 hours of hardwork, blood and sweat we replaced the clutch, pilot bearing, throw out bearing and fork. So for any of you wanting to attempt to fix anything on your car, ChrisFix's videos are the way to go they are so detailed that is impossible not to do what it says. @missbluepants888 well then if you dont want it to seem as though you are unable to do the repair due to lack of understanding, i suggest removing "such COMPLEX repairs" and replacing it with "repairs that require such TOOLS." also it seems pretty clear that my comment, while maybe crass, does not spew any legitimate insult. this is also evident by the reference to my mother, whom you can statistically assume i have a good view of as most people do (of their own mothers). if i did wish to insult while including my mother, i would say someone along the lines of: "like my mother, you are incredibly sensitive and appear to look for excuses to defend yourself, although i wouldnt imagine my mother doing that to a stranger online."
      good day

I took out a duel range hydromatic transmission from my 1955 Cadillac with a floor jack with a small piece of plywood and the transmission sure enough rolled off and pined me and a helper under the car. ChrisFix hey Chris I have a 2001 Ford F-350 that’s low on automatic transmission fluid I bought some Valvaline Mercon but I don’t know what brand of fluid is inside. Do you know if adding a different brand of fluid would hurt the transmission?

    Tons of room and simple process.
    No 4wd, no concentric slave, not transverse, not automatic, no special tools, no problem.Didn't even have to remove the front clip or sub-frame of the car to pull the engine/trans out or down.Seems like most of the cars I work on you have to buy/make a specialty tool, program the new part, or remove half the car these days.

Slave cylinder, intercooler, front axles, driveshaft carrier and rear guard, plus the pull type clutch! Still, this video sets a high benchmark for tutorials. Sure beats some 5 minute explanations by other big channels. Love your work, Brian!

I’ve already saved thousands of dollars because Christfix showed me how simple it was to do some car repairs. He’s good for seeing how to generally do something, and then refer to Haynes and UA-cam videos on your own car.

      @XxJaguar22 3 роки тому +19

      @@budweiserjackdaniels6664 That's a hard question. I knew that my dad didn't take care of my car except he did faithfully change the oil. It had 140,000 miles, so I knew that it was due for multiple routine things. Check engine lights are also helpful because the car knows something is wrong and it is telling you. I bought a code reader for $70 and it was the best investment I've made. You can fix the vast majority of check engine lights for less than $100 and it would've cost that much for a mechanic to tell you what the problem is and not fix it.
