    I also have a wave. I believe it's about 10 years old. Probably not used quite as hard as yours but I have to say overall it's been very durable. The little spring on the scissors it's gone a little bit wonky but I think I can bend it. Just give it a little more tension.

    Serrated blades great for cutting vines in the garden. Also rope ties for stakes for plants like tomatoes. It is my least used tool on face, much rather have larger scissors like wingman.

    How do you sharpen the leatherman wave? Or what kind of sharpening system?

      By hand, double sided bench stone, finish on a leather strop.

    Have you tried using the serrated blade to cut zip ties ?

    • @justfreythings3109
      @justfreythings3109  Рік тому +1

      Most of the time I'm dealing with zip ties they're for cable management on expensive components, so I generally don't want to get a knife too close to them anyway I prefer flush cutters or scissors.

    How is the side to side play in the plier pivot after 10 years?

      Not terrible, not something that concerned me while using it.

    Send in to leatherman for servicing, and they will send it back fully rebuilt. It's great. Just pay for shipping to them, and then they turn it around to you

    The Surge is great but it's very heavy. The Wave seems like a good weight compromise.

      @justfreythings3109  Рік тому +1

      I can agree with that, the wave is already pretty heavy, going heavier with the surge would probably make me leave it off my belt.

    I would use the saw for PVC occasionally

      Funny, you jogged my memory of using it for that once as well!

      The other thing I realized my wave is just a wave. It's not the wave plus with all the extra gadgets
