This is the kind of real extreme world reviews we, Leatherman fans, want to see. Not some non-violent table top video with the presenter jabbing away ! Good job, mate !
I read thousands of reviews, nearly every field. This review was undoubtedly the best, most interesting and credible. I wish you would produce a TV program at that level. No doubt a hit !!. And of course, thanks to the strengthening of trust in my old and trusty SURGE ...
I tried 20 other videos and all they did was explain the features and not one actually tried to break it. Thank you so much for actually showing its not all hype and honestly a good tool
NOW THATS A TORTURE TEST..THE SURGE REPLACING THE DOG AS MANS BEST FRIEND..GREAT REVIEW MAN..AWESOME. ONE OF THE BEST IVE SEEN. YOU BEAT THAT SURGE LIKE IT STOLE FROM YOU..DAMN STRONG TOOL.
I used the wave and the surge in tandem for years till I retired in the steel mill waste water treatment plant, not one fail tool used daily sometimes many times daily for 15 years for things they were not meant to do. I still have the surge, it will always be my favorite.
@AshGreen359 I call em either faulty or "replaceable" however it's faulty if I gotta replace em each use. Other models can do 100x the work with 0 damage so it's absolutely a flaw. So I simply gave my Surge away, for free. Told my brother about the defect/replaceable cutters whatever you wanna call em and went on with life. If the Arc isn't an easy fix I'll throw it to my little sister and call it a day. I'm happy owning a Victorianox Cs Plus all I need is the ratchet and some more bits and I'm set.
Great review! I would very much enjoy seeing stress tests like this performed for other multi-tools in the Leatherman line, as well as some of it's competitors, Gerber, Husky, etc. I look forward to more of your videos!
Really nice review... the hardwire cutter is at the back of the plier; behind the pivot point. I used to cut a bicycle spokes not one but several spokes with no damage on the tool.
I started out on my leatherman journey with the signal, which I carried daily for 3 years. But when I got me a job as an air compressor technician, I upgraded to the surge. I use it everyday.
Destructive tests are the only credible and convincing test you can have.. Industry uses them all the time.. No professional cares what some guy at a desk on UA-cam thinks about a tool, it showd nothing but their unfounded opinions.. This video is what convinced me to get the Surge, so thank you for going through all that.. 😁👍 I remember that guy, Noss4, who destroyed knives on video.. Lots of companies were really upset with him, but he did true public service work.. 😅
Wow what an insane video, that's the kind of test i wanna see on a tool i am looking to buy in future ^^ Please, please can you repeat that test with a Victorinox Swisstool X and compare that to the Surge's test result ?Because there is simply not a single video on youtube about this.
Blue Gear Thank You Blue Gear! We would love to! We have to buy some and test if all of them are so indestructible. We would like to add some Gerber and Victorinox tools as well.
My Supertool has suffered most of this since 1997. And it is more or less ok. Scratches, blunt wire cutters, pliers meet not perfectly. That is basically it.
Paulo Roberto Thank You Paulo! We will! I promise! In few days there's going to be the next one... Not with the tool, but with the Nomad Clip! Stay tuned.... :)
That was quite the test. I would never abuse my Surge in such a manner but it's nice to know it will take such punishment. You have a new subscriber. 👍
wish you could do other tests like the victorinox swiss army knife swiss tool or anything else for that matter...excellent work my friend! Leatherman please send this man one of each of your tools! A resounding endorsement of the Surge.
My wife bought this for me 4 to 5 years ago. Its been every where. From under the hood, working on fencing, wireing the house, wood hikes, working inside computers, even simple things like getting toys out of the packages at my sons birthdays. For all the hell its been in, it barely has any scratches, and only recently has the straight blade started showing signs of needing to be sharpened.
Genius channel idea. We carry them, but don't fully appreciate what they can and can't do. I was thinking of asking the "let's crush X with a hydrolic press" channel to crush blades, but this will work for now.
I have watched hundreds of review videos for various products. Your videos are top notch! Very well done with great information a would be buyer wants to know before making the financial investment. You posted 3 great videos 2 years ago and stopped. I hope you and your crew will get back into it. Thanks again!
wonderful test, A good friend of mine has been using this tool for work as a tree surgeon & for leisure outdoor activities for almost ten years!!! the only thing it needs is a new knife blade as the tip has snapped, but its still going strong. Bottom line buy one.
Great video! I bought one of these a few months ago, the updated model with replaceable wire cutter blades though no eye-glass bit holder, and this video has made me even happier with my Leatherman.
Great to hear that! This gear is almost indestructible end extremely well made! Only thing I do not like is the cover. It's Chinese, cheap, weak and you cannot save add additional equipment to it. We designed our own one and even the prototype is 100% better then the original. Soon we will have our final product and I'll show it to you in a new video. There will be extra space for small Fenix Flashlight and additional Bosh longer saws. I think you'll enjoy it :) Best b.
When I first got my Leatherman charge...I wondered how useful is this saw going to be??? Well , I found a use for it that has no equal. Cutting cpvc water pipe in close quarters for repair. It goes thru the plastic easily and requires very little stroke to work.
Excellent "movie" on the surge. You went to a lot of trouble. Who would even think of drop testing, but I'm sure it happens. Amazing how tough this multi tool is. Thanks.
well this is the best test I have ever seen on a Leatherman. that company Oregon Letterman should cut you a check for making their product look so good
I loved my surge I lost it at the landfill last fall, I do however own a super tool 300 2 waves old version and new version, a Wing man, a charge ALX and a MUTT AND I WILL BE BUYING ANOTHER SURGE SOON.
Well, you could sure mess up someone’s car pretty well. Great, comprehensive test; the best I have seen on a multi tool. I just bought one of these tools and this review made me glad I did; it felt like I made a good choice (there are SOOOOOO many multitools out there).
cut a seatbelt diagonally for quick results and you should always break glass in the corner of the window where it is supported well by the window frame.
I am happy I have got two pieces. It’s an extremely strong multi tool. I like especially the big scissors. In the new wave the scissors are ridiculously small. Even the scissors of a small Swiss knife are better.
I have both a surge and a charge tti plus. The charge inherits the smaller scissors from the wave. They may be small but those things are beastly. They can handle anything I’ve thrown at the larger surge scissors with ease. They actually feel like they’re constructed better. They have no horizontal play, unlike the surge, which makes fine cutting work a breeze, again, unlike the surge.
Thanks for the video. How come this surge has the awl and the small eyeglass screwdriver? The new model has two flat head screwdrivers which I don’t understand the point since the bit driver offers a full range of bits.
With 250thousand views I think Leatherman would forgive him and probably send him a gold plated surge to replace it..hell I bought a surge 2 days after watching this video I was so impressed and beat 120dollars I ever spent leatherman smiling
I have been using Leatherman for years and anytime I have broken anything on them send it in and they repair same as new every time. I only use Leatherman and I use the hell out of them, off shore oil production best tool in the world, a pair of channel locks and my Leatherman I can repair just about anything
I had the original super tool and I absolutely used it to it's max. I had twisted flat blades, an chunk taken out of the serrated blade due to a high voltage wires shorting out and worn wire cutter. I sent it back to leatherman to repair and they just sent me back a new super tool 300. I'll always buy leatherman because their customer support is unrivaled. If there's a pocket tool I want and leatherman don't make it I won't buy it. NB my original PST is still going strong.
Used a wave for quite some time, never had an issue on the exception that now I cant find it. Just ordered a surge in black oxide from ebay. Great video.
Every part that broke or was damaged significantly can be replaced at a reasonable price as well which I love in the newer Leathermans being I completely snapped off the blade on a super old Leatherman 15 or so years ago back when you couldn't take them apart easily and before people really started modifying them.
I cringe at the torture that the surge went to, I have a similar tool and I have more respect for the maker of leatherman tools especially the Surge. I use mine almost every day Kudos Sir very impressive review and video angles.
It will. Don't forget about your warranty. I broke the tip of my blade doing something stupid at the end of a long day. I told them I misused it and would pay for repair. They took a few hours to reply and said send it. I paid nothing and got a practically new tool back. They tightened everything and lm sure it was polished. Great buy.

Good job, mate !
Exactly! I'm use my Surge, but don't abuse it... much. Glad to know how much it can take!
yes this is what we want to see

To show the power of the leatherman surge
*I SLASHED MY NEIGHBOR'S TIRES*
Thats alot of damage
IT'S ME AGAIN,
TO SHOW YOU THE POWER OF THE LEATHERMAN SURGE, I SAWED THIS BOAT IN HALF
....in haaalf!!!
Or his ex's tires. lol
The best unbiased review I ve ever seen.
Now **THAT** is a hard use test!! Looking forward to many more!
I tried 20 other videos and all they did was explain the features and not one actually tried to break it. Thank you so much for actually showing its not all hype and honestly a good tool
Just got my Surge today. I’ve used Leatherman tools for years, but lighter duty versions. This thing is a beast. Great review, thanks.
NOW THATS A TORTURE TEST..THE SURGE REPLACING THE DOG AS MANS BEST FRIEND..GREAT REVIEW MAN..AWESOME. ONE OF THE BEST IVE SEEN. YOU BEAT THAT SURGE LIKE IT STOLE FROM YOU..DAMN STRONG TOOL.
Finally! A reviewer who is not afraid to put the product through tough testing. Keep up the good work guys
Best review iv ever seen. good job!!!
Thank You Bryan!
We are working on the new projects. I hope you'll like them too! :)
Best!

+Bryan Stewart More big gear review channels should do more like this...actually show the gear being used...and abused lol
I used the wave and the surge in tandem for years till I retired in the steel mill waste water treatment plant, not one fail tool used daily sometimes many times daily for 15 years for things they were not meant to do. I still have the surge, it will always be my favorite.
Send it in for 25 year warranty 😂
I love my old surge. Never knew how indestructible it was.
Indestructible unless you have the faulty gap in the hardwire cutters.
@@captainsaveahoe1843 Yeah I noticed that
@AshGreen359 I call em either faulty or "replaceable" however it's faulty if I gotta replace em each use.

@@captainsaveahoe1843 I think I'll go back to my old plier head with the non replaceable cutters.
@@AshGreen359 no, just switch cutters.
Although that would work too.
Great review! I would very much enjoy seeing stress tests like this performed for other multi-tools in the Leatherman line, as well as some of it's competitors, Gerber, Husky, etc. I look forward to more of your videos!
both fine edge and serrated blades are made of 420hc not 154cm
This is such an excellent test. Thorough in every way. It had to take a lot of work...and money. To put this video together. Huge respect!
Wow........ this is the best review I've ever seen. I'm getting myself a surge and im subscribing to your channel.
I gotta get me some of those "pillars" ... 😀. Fantastic review. Thanks!
Guess what, best review of a multi tool I have ever seen. You just nailed it. Good job buddy

Well done sir. This is the best gear review/test format I have seen on the tubes.
Amazing hardcore test! Great job
It would be great if u guys do other Leatherman multitools...like the wave, supertool, charge, rebar!
Keep it coming.
Blue Gear Thank You Blue Gear! We would love to! We have to buy some and test if all of them are so indestructible. We would like to add some Gerber and Victorinox tools as well.

Great jog on the hardcore testing and amazing video style. Simply loved it. You guys definately should keep doing this kind of videos.
Paulo Roberto Thank You Paulo! We will! I promise! In few days there's going to be the next one... Not with the tool, but with the Nomad Clip! Stay tuned.... :)
Best Surge review on the internet.
That was quite the test. I would never abuse my Surge in such a manner but it's nice to know it will take such punishment. You have a new subscriber. 👍
Wow you guys are brutal. Glad to see my Surge is so tough and indestructible! Ty.
Great review and shows what the Surge is capable of. Well done.
wish you could do other tests like the victorinox swiss army knife swiss tool or anything else for that matter...excellent work my friend! Leatherman please send this man one of each of your tools! A resounding endorsement of the Surge.
You can get a glass breaker attachment for the bit kit from the Skeletool RX

Great review. I've never run over my wingman but use it as a hammer very often. I think I'll be getting a Serg as an upgrade. :)
Best review/destruction test ever made.
Your videos are very well made, can't wait till you upload some more! Thanks I'm convinced to go out and buy a surge now!
what an absolute beast of a tool and man those tests were really something. subbed!

You guys are doing God’s work. This is the kind of testing the world needs to see!
Great review!! First clip I've seen with hardcore testing after searching and watching many! Thanks.
That was definitely a hardcore test
Best damn review for a multi tool I’ve ever seen!!
I literally just bought one, this is traumatic to watch - lol!
I ordered my surge, it comes tomorrow. Super excited
Excellent "movie" on the surge. You went to a lot of trouble. Who would even think of drop testing, but I'm sure it happens. Amazing how tough this multi tool is. Thanks.
well this is the best test I have ever seen on a Leatherman. that company Oregon Letterman should cut you a check for making their product look so good
they are pliers not pillers
We need more video's like this
I loved my surge I lost it at the landfill last fall, I do however own a super tool 300 2 waves old version and new version, a Wing man, a charge ALX and a MUTT AND I WILL BE BUYING ANOTHER SURGE SOON.

I've bought two and I plan on buying more...
I want to see how poorly the Gerber center drive performs the same tests
thank you so much for the video, would love to see this on more letterman models!!!
I have a Victorinox on my key chain. Might have to buy a surge. Looks promising and worth the money
I hip carry the Surge and carry a Minichamp on my keys. They compliment each other very well.

Very great review of this multitool,I have the latest version of Surge with replaceable wire cutters😊
I would LOVE to see this done with more leathermans!
This is THE Surge test!
Great Multitool! Brand and warranty policy says it all. I love Leatherman. Thank you.
I bought one the next day after watching this review.
Wow this is a very thorough test of this tool. Thanks for the video!
Does this video suggest to me that this is the right tool for car thieves?
Thanks for the video. How come this surge has the awl and the small eyeglass screwdriver? The new model has two flat head screwdrivers which I don’t understand the point since the bit driver offers a full range of bits.
This is the Gen1 Surge
Can you guys test the victorinox Swiss tool next?
8 years strong with my charge 💪
Leatherman has a 25 warranty on the Surge; I wonder what they would do if you sent it in on a warranty claim?
With 250thousand views I think Leatherman would forgive him and probably send him a gold plated surge to replace it..hell I bought a surge 2 days after watching this video I was so impressed and beat 120dollars I ever spent leatherman smiling

best multi tool ever made
I lost my wingman a week ago but I ordered the new black oxide surge can’t wait !
Just picked up a surge today, glad I chose the surge over the wave!
Used a wave for quite some time, never had an issue on the exception that now I cant find it. Just ordered a surge in black oxide from ebay. Great video.
What a video i am determined to by this knife where did you get this from.
1:36 You claim 154CM steel. According to Leatherman both blades are made from 420HC stainless steel?
Every part that broke or was damaged significantly can be replaced at a reasonable price as well which I love in the newer Leathermans being I completely snapped off the blade on a super old Leatherman 15 or so years ago back when you couldn't take them apart easily and before people really started modifying them.
Thanks again that was awesome to see,,, keep up the good work and we will be with you, we love leatherman multi tools
I was like "ohh ouch " 😂 thanks for this review this is awesome!
perfect test!! You help me to decide what to buy..Thanks so much..
Now that is a test worthy of a great tool!
Buongiorno, bel test...interessante sarebbe vedere un test sul Leatherman Super tool 300
I have only one question, how many multitools lezerman surge did you break before during the video shooting ???
AWESOME test. This is truly informative. DO MORE OF THESE. Call leatherman. I bet they would send you some tools.
Shoutout to that bug at 2:25 from 2020
How many generations of his children must have been in youtube videos by now... amazin
I cringe at the torture that the surge went to, I have a similar tool and I have more respect for the maker of leatherman tools especially the Surge. I use mine almost every day Kudos Sir very impressive review and video angles.
Wow the leatherman surge has pilers as well as a pail of pliers
hi, what video editing software did you use for this UA-cam, its really nice oh thanks for the review
How much the price and you can deliver in UAE?
Loved the video. Can you please test Victorinox SwissTool X and SwissTool Spirit??
So basically it will last you a life time. Glad I ordered this.
It will. Don't forget about your warranty. I broke the tip of my blade doing something stupid at the end of a long day. I told them I misused it and would pay for repair. They took a few hours to reply and said send it. I paid nothing and got a practically new tool back. They tightened everything and lm sure it was polished. Great buy.
Why dont you used the claws as glass braker.. pillars are the strongest and have nice shape for it
Is this the "out of the box sharpness" ?
or did you sharpen it before this test?

Wait howcome your surge has the tiny glass screwdriver??? Only the wave has this thing . Did you mod yours???
