the relay is included to go inline with the power to the starter, the push button is used to turn the relay on so the high amps drawn by the starter are going through the relay not the push button itself other wise you could blow your push button, more than likely its not meant to have high current going through it. hope that helps, interesting video btw
Unless you sent a wire from the starter button directly to the starter (which I don't think you did), you are already running through the relay that the car uses for the starter, so I think you're ok with how you have it set up. Most systems can use the existing relay and not have to use the relay provided by the kit. With race cars, one may want to bypass the existing setup by the manufacturer to simply the wiring system, and thus the relay is provided.
@@StabnSteer Yep but also if he doesn't have a stock starter relay (none at all) then the button MAY handle high amps if the car is started very quickly. But OP please check your starter relay is working or you could start a fire instead of your car :p
Correct. But if he just used the console wires that the key was using than he already is using all the existing relays. The relay that is included is good for new accessories like a sub amp or a electric fan etc. Hes cool. But i would highly sugest shrink tubing. The heat of the car will desentergrate the electrical tape in no time.
Thanks for your video! I installed my switchpanel today and I used the relais as well. The relais connection is really easy: red wire goes in place of the starterwire, blue goes to starter and black goes to ground. That's all !
Yep just ordered it today I've watched till the end just to get the idea It did help Probably will revisit ones my ignition switch is delivered can't wait
Brandon Card no problem! I was in the same position as you! Luckily I had some good people to annoy with all my questions and help me out with this, I'm glad it is helping others like you!
Brandon Card no problem! I was in the same position as you! Luckily I had some good people to annoy with all my questions and help me out with this, I'm glad it is helping others like you!
Anthony Zarate so funny story, it stopped working earlier , so I hauled it out of my dash, checked everything out, still wouldn't start so I ended up hot-wiring my car, only to notice I didn't have the main switch flipped after tightening some wires up 😂😂😂
Brandon Card , damn!! That must have sucked! I would have been upset if that happened to me, I'm glad everything worked out and it wasn't a problem with my information! :) what kind of car did you install it in?
Anthony Zarate 03 Honda Civic sedan, I'm gonna get ahold of a label maker and change the ACC's to rice, soya & #7 hahaha and yeah bro it was one of those moments where I had to question my IQ 😂😂😂
So I can wire all of them to the first switch so when I switch it on everything comes on? Like I1 I2 A1 on switch one, starter to start button and that will leave me with 3 usable switches. I just want to make sure the switch can handle the load of those three wires. I’m terrible at electrical work but your video makes me believe I can do it
The problem with this product is that they include no instructions or diagrams to explain what does what. I will be installing one on my 88 S10 so this is very helpful.
I have 6 wires from my ba falcon 2005 can you help witch what goes where inputs outputs and crank 🤔 pls is that possible so which of my wires connect to where on the new ignition panel? Question 2 can I use a ignition switch from a Mazda mx6 it's 6 wires but has b1 b2 and ign 1 ign 2? How does that all work where's my earth's and how does it all shut off does it have its own off switch inbuilt on the panel so when flicked off cuts all power etc it's this right ✅️ 🤔 Cheers NigelTv
Can I hook my ignition wires for my dash n fuel pump and radio to kick on to the one led toggle switch and just use the push to start to start my car and use the other three for my led off road lights
I’m trying to wire my 87 S10 to two toggle switches. One will turning on accessories and everything else and the other for ignition to start and run my truck. My key doesn’t work as it is and I’m using the ignition switch to start my car already. What do I need to do to get this to happen?
yes, if the main switch is turned off.. it will kill the engine, brake booster and steering booster. which will make it very difficult to stop and hard to turn. so if you are a teenager.. ask a parent or guardian for permission or put this all on the left hand side of the car (in merica) to avoid dumb friends fucking with shit and/or a collision.
Hey bro I have a question ok? So if I have a bad ignition switch on my car will the push to start bypass that? Or as should say start my car without the ignition switch?
Could you tell me some of the uses that I could put switches in my car for (I want LEDs, but I want to know some other things that I can wire switches to LOL)

is there a way to make it so that you need turn the key to give power to the panel then flick the switch and hit the buttom to start it. I should want to still use the key. Don´t want anyone random to start up the car. pls help, if you anderstand.
GlutteBoy all you need to do is cut the wires after the plug and before the key cylinder, the ones you want to be on a switch and button and then make sure to link the ones that get power from turning the key, into the switches, it shouldn't be too much more complicated. But you could also just hide the main switch somewhere to act as a kill switch.

Great video! I don't expect I'll get an answer, but... Do any of you know how different are Miata and Mx-3? Should I be expecting any larger problems during the installation? Peace :)
I spoke to my technician friend and I was told that if it is running without it then it should be fine. It may be required for more modern cars though.
justlilguys the other video that I included in the description should explain what you need to do a bit more. But unless you have a 99 Miata, your car will be different and you should look up your cars wiring diagram.

I have this exact same panel and want to wire it into my car and I have no experience with this kinda stuff, and I’m sorry but I couldn’t follow your video at all but that’s likely my fault, I’ll have to find some experienced help.
It’s an old video, basically just find your 12v constant, that goes to the input of the red switch, outputs to whatever accessories you want or switches you want, then isolate the starter wire and put that on the output of the button, with the input being the 12v switched and you’re good
Thanks for a very informative video Anthony. You mentioned the Relay Switch that comes with the Kit and Why it's needed. The relay is rated to handle the extra Amp draw from the starter motor and prevents that momentary draw from damaging the Panel. Here's a Link explaining this part of the setup. Thanks again. ua-cam.com/video/pl6l6rwfmqQ/v-deo.html
you don't need the relay that guy obviously does not fully know what he is talking about. yes you need to run a relay for high current devices( thermo fan, fuel pump, starter, lights, etc.) so if you have any of them on your acc switches then hook it up! but since your using it more as a replacement key switch to your existing factory wiring you just plain don't need it. yes you could us it and no it wouldn't hurt any but why add it when your car already has a starter relay that your key switch was already wired to? they include it with the panel cause its intended for a race car where you are adding that whole electrical circuit from scratch. I would consider putting heat shrink on and if you plan on keeping the car for a while simple up the wiring and run the wires right with a higher grade crimps cheap stuff never last and may cause problems down the road. it will pay to do the job right. best of luck tho.
julian hernandez thanks for your comment and knowledge on the subject! I have done more research since then and the wiring has been cleaned up , soldered and heat shrunk. I've also added a fuse box for additional gauges and such, but yah I never thought about how it's going through the factory wiring at the time! Thanks for the advice again
l think soldering wires is the dumbest thing you can do. sure it makes a very secure connection, the problem is if you fuck up or need to change something then you have to pull it out and start over. l think the best solution is wire nuts, they are very secure and pretty easy to undo if needed. you just twist the wires together and then put the nut over top of them and twist that and that wire won't come undone unless you untwist the nut off. l just never understood why people would solder the wires, the connection is pretty much permanent after that which means you're fucked if you have any plans to change anything or if you screw up.
Electronics For Fun you're right but once you have the setup you want, soldering is fine, also you only lose an inch max of wire, so it's no big deal, I was saying I would solder wires together, not solder wires to the switches.
I am a plumber, where we solder copper every day. I prefer soldering my electrical connections as well because in my opinion it is a more secure and professional connection. If you mess it up, you do the same as you would with a copper pipe, you cut it out on two ends and solder in a new wire, or just cut the soldered piece out, or if possible heat it up to the solders melting point and pull it apart. It is all just a matter of preference though.
You are lucky you haven't burned your car down. You should seek a professional. The relay was probably included because the panel isn't designed to take all the current your putting through it. And it's illegal to have a car able to start and drive with a locked ign
srhisey the panel is designed to take exactly the amount of current running through it and more. The relay is just a piece that may be required in more modern vehicles with a more complex ecu. However, in my case the car I'm dealing with is fine. I won't burn my car down, but thanks for the warning, I have properly wired and installed everything safely at this point, the video was my start and for informational purposes, you should check out my update when I release it, but thanks for watching! Also it is not illegal for keyless ignition and no steering lock here, where is it illegal for you?
Anthony Zarate the switch panel CANNOT hand the power...there's a reason there is a relay with it...that dudes right your gonna burn the car down or blow shit constantly. Relay is meant to handle the high volts...not a switch panel..usually switch panels are just switches that connect the grounds to each circuit not the power. Never run the main power wiring to the accessories...it goes. BAT to RELAY...RELAY to ACCESSORY then relay ground to the switch to complete the circuit. Dude you need to research wiring and electrical.
good job bud way you want to build it in a normal car if you just jump your contactkey and al your exsiting butons. This panels are usefull if you biuld a real race car. For factory dailys this is bullshit.
the relay is included to go inline with the power to the starter, the push button is used to turn the relay on so the high amps drawn by the starter are going through the relay not the push button itself other wise you could blow your push button, more than likely its not meant to have high current going through it. hope that helps, interesting video btw
chris james thanks ! That does help, I'll try that out
Anthony Zarate no worries glad i could help, it could save you a lot of problems in the future

so the same for 90-99 lol

michael edwards I just wired each of the switches for each key position on the cylinder. Like I show in the diagram.
Anthony Zarate how are they wired into the red flap switch
michael edwards constant on one terminal, All other accessories from the other terminal to the switches, then ground the third terminal sticking out of the bottom.
So on the acc terminal on the switch its wired over to the other three switches?

I have the same switch panel and the light on the main on and off switch doesn't illuminate
Mk2 Mx5, my steering lock turns off after the first turn of the key. Will this sort itself out if i have the key in and use the ignition panel?
I used to just have the key in to sort the problem, as an extra measure of security lol but then I broke my key in it and it locked, completely unrelated to panel and then cut of my cylinder for that "full racecar feel lol"
Bro, did do you have a diagram for mustang 04?
i figured out how to do the push start but idk how to make it so it turns off wen i turn off the switch and idk how to make it so it only turns on wen the switch is on
If you route all of your power going to your button and switches through the main switch, you want to kill everything, then it should work.
Might put it in the brz just to make it feel like I’m starting up a jet 😞
I'm struggling with the accessory wire I hooked the ignition up so I can start the car but I don't have any radio or AC I have a 95 Nissan pickup hardbody if anyone can help that would be awesome thanks

Brandon Lara WIRE STARTER TO RELAY THEN RELAY TO SWITCH...don't wire a fuckin starter power wire to a little switch.
Anthony Zarate Do you have sub woofers?
Great video!
I don't expect I'll get an answer, but... Do any of you know how different are Miata and Mx-3?
Should I be expecting any larger problems during the installation?

No, should be about the same process, just different colored wires.
Thanks a lot, mate!
How do I wire the relay inline?
I want to put one I'm my 97 mustang and it used a chipped key, will it still work with my car
Ive seen people put the reader and key side by side tape or zip tie them together then hide in the dash
How do i know if my fuel pump priming with this igniton switch panel?
kennedy wong you will hear it.
de que país eres? ese apellido es latino, en costa rica lo escucho mucho.
it's okay, if installed without the relay? what relay use for?
I spoke to my technician friend and I was told that if it is running without it then it should be fine. It may be required for more modern cars though.
Do you need foot on the clutch?
Not if its in neutral
Yes, unless you bypass the clutch switch
Can anyone tell me if the wiring is the same for the 2000 MX-5?
You have to use the relay. Thats why they sent it to you.
can you please make a video about you doing the wiring step by step please
I will look into that. Maybe I can help you with what you are struggling with specifically?
Anthony Zarate im just struggling with which wires go where
justlilguys the other video that I included in the description should explain what you need to do a bit more. But unless you have a 99 Miata, your car will be different and you should look up your cars wiring diagram.
Relay Bubba. It's a relay. Always disconnect your battery unless It's a new car. Then you'll want a memory saver
This is so awesome. Thank you for this vid!
Sorry it cut me off. I meant to say a locked steering wheel.
Any way you could install this so that you need the car key? To make sure my car doesn't get stolen? Lol
That's how this one is installed, you still technically need the car key, without it the steering wheel won't lock, but the car can be turned on, which is convenient and looks cool, hope this helps.

can i start my car with all acc button off?
In order to do that you will have to find the wire that is your "ignition 1" in my case, or the wire that corresponds to your last key cylinder position that is right before you turn it to start the engine. You could also just wire all of these accessories to have power with the main switch and leave the other three switches open for later.
thx so much its helpful
would this make it easy for thieves to steal my car?
Ellis Wildman well you still need to remove the key cylinder from your car to allow your steering wheel to move freely without the key, then yes it would make it easier, but you could Also add a kill switch in between the power and the red switch that you hide somewhere so no one steals your car ever.
What is the music playing

What’s the point of doings this in general? For looks? Or is there actually a benefit?
Building a car from scratch, deleting a key cylinder, easier access for adding switches to control things later on.
it helps the lights doesn't it?
I wish my brain could understand this stuff…
Looks like im gonna have to stay key’d😔
Anyone do this on a Volkswagen? I have a MK4 and have ZERO wiring experience
I have this exact same panel and want to wire it into my car and I have no experience with this kinda stuff, and I’m sorry but I couldn’t follow your video at all but that’s likely my fault, I’ll have to find some experienced help.
It’s an old video, basically just find your 12v constant, that goes to the input of the red switch, outputs to whatever accessories you want or switches you want, then isolate the starter wire and put that on the output of the button, with the input being the 12v switched and you’re good
shut the car off video or dose the first switch shut the car off
Thanks for a very informative video Anthony.
Start switch wiring
Cool vid
might do this to my ls400 on my channel
thats your realy bro you need it just in case of a electrical short .... mut install ...
julian hernandez why if I have fuses connected before the components I'm working on ? I'm curious
you don't need the relay that guy obviously does not fully know what he is talking about. yes you need to run a relay for high current devices( thermo fan, fuel pump, starter, lights, etc.) so if you have any of them on your acc switches then hook it up! but since your using it more as a replacement key switch to your existing factory wiring you just plain don't need it. yes you could us it and no it wouldn't hurt any but why add it when your car already has a starter relay that your key switch was already wired to? they include it with the panel cause its intended for a race car where you are adding that whole electrical circuit from scratch.
Good man
"I couldnt find a video with this panel, so there was a video with this panel..."
"i found one video" @
Manuel Bou find something else better to do
I'm such a loser. I am still battling my wiring issues and found my old smart ass comment 🤣 my bad folks
I'm hooking it up to a 1994 ford ranger
A good viedeo
use the relay
Whats the point if you're still gonna put in a key
Its only because of steering wheel lock, I have since removed my key cylinder and do not need a key.
That also works as a safety because u wont be able to inguage the gears
Fuck I’m still confused
l think soldering wires is the dumbest thing you can do. sure it makes a very secure connection, the problem is if you fuck up or need to change something then you have to pull it out and start over. l think the best solution is wire nuts, they are very secure and pretty easy to undo if needed. you just twist the wires together and then put the nut over top of them and twist that and that wire won't come undone unless you untwist the nut off. l just never understood why people would solder the wires, the connection is pretty much permanent after that which means you're fucked if you have any plans to change anything or if you screw up.
1999 MX5.. Christ, how Mexican can you get? 😂

Go look at my Build
I got mine off Wish for $0.79
You are lucky you haven't burned your car down.
He's lucky he has not burnt his car up. He don't know what he is doing I hope others don't follow his directions.
Don’t care
Lol the car and wiring is fine, or go watch this guys tutorial on it then.
good job bud way you want to build it in a normal car if you just jump your contactkey and al your exsiting butons. This panels are usefull if you biuld a real race car. For factory dailys this is bullshit.
Fuuuuuuck.... I can't get it.
Wow just not my thing
As I know this is too danger by antecedent one of the ignition switch be off you will be die
