This is the best video I have ever seen. I am an old guy who just hate wiring, but watching this made my whole world better because i still tinker with things. If you're not a school teacher, you should be! Keep up the good work.
I'm old and I've been using this type system for more years than I care to think about, but there's something about watching your videos that just fascinates me, maybe it's like a refresher course or memories of days gone, (I still work and still love automotive wiring). LOL. Keep doing what you do, and I'll keep watching. Thanks
I’ve always thought that doing automotive wiring was a complete pain especially because I’m still new at it but this is by far the easiest way to learn thanks for the great content
The only thing I struggle with with a lot of these videos is the anti theft systems.. I have my key and my PATS is fine, when I wire an ACC switch to my mustang it turns on all acc emulating the key being switched on, But when I go to crank the theft light just flashes and I have the key with the transponder and the correct ECU. When I used the keyed ignition switch it’ll start right up… when I wire in a rocker panel and switches it just will not WILL NOT work…
That’s fantastic! I’ve got lots of relay related videos if you find yourself bored today and are desperately wanting more! :D Congrats on getting your KZ working again!
I have a 1973 Chevy Nova (race car but street legal) and had a wiring nightmare today, thought I fixed it and went for a joy ride, only to have it stall on the highway 😮 After watching this video, I know how I'm gonna tackle this situation in the morning!! I’m really glad the videos helped you make sense of the wiring! If you liked this, I have many more wiring videos you may also enjoy! Thanks for watching!
Love your channel. I did notice when I went to wire a relay bought off amazon the numbers and the colors were not the same. But your explanation of the numbers helped me figure it out!
Great vid, got this same switch system and couldn't make heads or tails of the instructions! Thank you! Engine Run Stand is gonna get done this weekend!
Yet another great video full of helpful content. An idea for a future video, build a low fuel light using a NTC Thermister. Those of use running fuel cells still need a low fuel warning light where stock style gas gauges don't work.
I love this video I was working on putting this on my go cart. And was going to just leave it push button but I wanted to add a key on and off So nobody could steal the go-kart and now I know how thanks. I also subscribe.
@WiringRescue i appreciate you again. My project is going well. Not sure if I should run my fuel pump off a fuse or relay tho. The fuse has been working is the relay better?
I think you do an excellent job of explaining in non-technical manner. Something of lot familiar with wiring can't or won't do. Suggestion for future wiring, keyless?
Thanks for the kind words! When you say “keyless”, do you mean using a key fob to unlock doors and perform other functions? Or converting a car to no longer use a key?
I add a "debugging mode" panel under the hood to bypass and take control of ignition, ecu and starter. Because I work on my car in a tight garage, going back and forth just to start the engine is not efficient for me. So I add a remote panel to turn on my car from the engine bay. I also add a NC switch so when I close the hood my circuit gives control back to key ignition switch
Awesome videos! Your videos has taught me how to confidently wire vehicles from scratch. Plus its helped me in troubleshooting as well. Have you considered showing a video on wiring up a coil, distributor and an MSD system to a carbureted and efi motors? I checked your library and havent seen it if its there. Hopefully its something you may consider. Thanks again!
Great source of information. I have added three 12v lights to the race switches . coil/oil and fuel pump . I added a relay with a fuel pump. For some reason I am getting power to the small 12 lights, When I turn the fuel pump on the light goes out, I know it difficult to recommend a fix, but adding the relay to the switch does it have to be wired differently, thanks for the trips and Trix .
It sounds to me like you unintentionally wired the fuel pump switch through the bulb circuit of the switch instead of the accessory circuit. If your fuel pump switch has three terminals, two of them probably need to be swapped. If that is not the case, maybe your fuel pump relay (pin 30) is getting power from the same power source as the switches, and essentially sucking that power source dry. Check out my fuel pump wiring video to make sure you wired that relay correctly, straight off the battery. Good luck!
Great video, well all of your wiring videos are great. I wish you would do one on using universal wiring harness because that’s what I get questions on. It’s nice to just link your videos.
I have the big shut off switch in the back of my race car. I have a painless wiring switchboard with eight switches. Those wires will go to a relay board and from the relay board to all the labeled items where do I go from that point
