Love this!! My favorite part is it still does exactly what you need essentially for free. The monthly and yearly plan options are incredibly affordable for added security. I love how you can add your own storage to customize the ability to record and playback instead of paying for plans. As a single mom with 4 kids, the price, the quality and the accessibility from anywhere is literally unbeatable!! I haven't and don't plan on switching anytime soon. I just keep adding more and cams and accessories. Set up is easy even for the person who has no idea about the techy stuff. There is literally nothing negative I can say about this system. They truly are customer satisfaction based and not out to rob you at all. I can't wait to start using the window sensors. Currently I own 3 outdoor cams, 4 indoor cams and 1 pan cam. I've been blown away and Wyze definitely has my loyalty as a customer! Yes! Go get one! You will not regret it!
This the best system I’ve seen out there. It blows the ring out of the water in many ways, especially price and quality.
i believed that to be true. however, i found out both of cams didn't loop. this is the type of camera you need to constantly check if loop recording is working properly

Installed 3 Cam Pans yesterday. Unlike most technology, especially in this price range, installation was a breeze and everything worked exactly as advertised. Integration with Alexa was a snap. I'm a Wyze fan now!

Luv mines work very well all of them I had many cams These by far are the best cams I have ever had .....Hopefully they come out with one that doesn’t need outlet power and that you can use inside or outside

Obviously it's a feature this person wants, or they wouldn't have mentioned it lol.
You can actually look on the website and they have different ideas from people who have mounted them outside. Using 3D covering to keep it from getting wet etc. I saw one where someone used a birdhouse and just mounted the camera inside. It was pretty interesting. Hope that helps you until maybe they make one that is supposed to be used outside. But from the reviews I read, these ideas seem to work well on the camera and didn't cause any interference or problems even though technically it says it's not to be used outdoors.
You said if motion or sound is detected, it records 14 sec. But what happens to action if continues for another 2 minutes? That is will it start re-recording and if so how many sec is the lag that you will miss the action, before it can trigger next movement?
Forgot to get a 32g sd card, got too wait another day or so for that, but it works great! Great addition to my other wyze cams.

Yes to both. You can choose to save to cloud or locally.

Well....I bought the cam pan and the motion tracking and tagging is not working, I have spoken to their support and they told me its an issue that they know about. sucks !!!!
Was there ever a resolve to this issue?

Twice today, my power was deliberately turned off (I'm being harassed by ppl below me and has been getting worse being as management is related to these ppl) by the landlord/management (even the cops here are connected to these ppl and refuse to help).. I desperately needed this as it was within my budget, but because it works only on electricity for power, I of course don't have the footage needed. It also doesn't work at the window as I needed proof for legal aid as to who is vandalizing my car and porch decor.

Linda I am in the security industry and have access to all grades of different cameras. These cameras are extremely impressive for cameras at such a dirt cheap price.
There are a couple of issues you can address to circumvent both the deliberate power outages and the vandalism of your vehicles.
First you simply need to buy what is called an uninterruptible power supply(The same type that is used to keep your computer from crashing during a sudden power outage). I would advise you to get a good one that will last for the duration of the time it would take the people to be caught on video. If you can’t afford One large unit you can daisychain two or three smaller ones together.
Also putting a camera that has infrared illuminators on them inside of a window looking out will reflect the infrared illuminators off the glass back into the camera and will not provide you any good video. You could use some small pieces of electrical tape to place over the illuminators therefore illuminating the problem. Otherwise you would have to run the cable to where the camera is mounted on the outside of the window glass as discreetly as possible so that it will not be readily discoverable by the perpetrators who could steal your camera and make off with the memory card evidence.

Please get an audio recorder and hide it as I did. Set up a camera as well and use your neighbors WiFi and you will catch them as I did!!

Would this work in a window pointing in an apartment hallway, I need steps downstairs views also. I’ll be putting it on a shelf, but need to know if it will pan down enough to show downstairs

I bought 2 and now realize there is a design flaw in the firmware/app that makes it unusable for me. Youcannot stop the motor, which is noisy, from alerting a burglar. If you want to use it like a traditional camera, with one view, there is no option to turn off the noise. Not only must I run a radio all the time to muffle the unwanted motor noise, but I cannot stop the base from rotating with the cable if I do not use the supplied tripod mounting nut. If anybody knows a way to silence the thing, please respond. (May 29 '24) Also, like all app-based systems, documentation is nil. You just have to fumble around punching icons and the word "more", hoping to find the feature you are after. I'm still looking for how to name my cameras.

Yes, you can flip the video 180 degrees. Just got mine today and played with that feature

Just for awareness for people watching your video, detection is poor and so are notifications on these devices. Over half the time neither worked on mine and when the notifications did happen, there was a 2-12 minute lag.

I have been using the Wyze Cam Pan for a year. The main problem or con is the audio sucks and no one in my family can understand what I am saying through the Wyze Cam Pan's speakers.
So if you have the app are you able to hear people talking to the camera?

It's not supposed to be, but I found a website that shows people's ideas of how they have covered the camera to use it outside. Like 3D covering and even a birdhouse! Very interesting and did not seem to bother the camera

Problem is with many cams I’ve seen and want to know..... do you get conned into a subscription plan to store video and is there any options to store locally / lan?
Yes. It has a memory card slot to store locally.
They now offer continuous cloud storage on a 7 day repeating loop, if memory serves me, for around $2/cam per month. Not totally sure of the monthly charge.
Does it have continuous streaming??
You can keep watching the livestream through the app, I guess I'm not sure if there is a time limit to that feed. You can flash the firmware and turn it into a webcam if you wanted to use it for streaming.
I followed all the Introductions but it won’t connect ! .
I Just hooked mine up and had the same problem The fix was to shut the app down completely and restart it again. If that doesn't work redo the set up sequence again: pressing the button underneath, and let the camera reread the code box. Once you get it up its very cool...specially for the price. Good luck.

Barbara Jean Smith it’s bound to be user error.... I’m not judging, just commenting. Are you certain your WiFi has 2.4Ghz band? Does it go through the entire setup process?
I need to monitor a home 5 miles away from where I live. How you you use this camera if the purpose is to monitor a secondary location where the wifi network is not accessible from where you need to monitor from?
You’d need WiFi for a live view and cloud storage otherwise use a micro self card

Don’t use the same password from other sites and frequently change your wifi password. You create a Wyze account login and password.
Looking for just a camera i can spy on my kid while I’m at work. Would like to get live video and sound. Don’t really need detection or recording features is this a good option?

Camara no good for nothing. Today 4 pm i was in my garage. It suppose to be la camara was supposed capture me. But i went to look at myself. I don't get anything. I do not recomment it to anyone
I am so very disappointed with the wyze security cameras. I brought 4 of them and none of the will connect to my internet. I am in the room with my internet router and it fails to any of them. Don't be fool by this company👎
You need to use 2g not 5g internet
You’ve got to use the 2.4 band.... I’d bet that’s your issue
I would agree with the other posts. You probably just have it set up with 5g internet that most smart home devices dont work with.
@Anthony Soza Most providers offer dual band 2.4 and 5Ghz, however depending on how you set it up you could be getting either or. You could have it separate allowing you to choose what bandwidth you need for what. This can be troublesome for some who dont understand the difference between the two or know how to properly set up their smart home devices.
