Any idea If these could handle 120 degrees in Phoenix? I’m going to mount one on my porch (underneath the roof) powered by a battery pack that also has a small solar panel.
I’m in Southern California. The hottest days we get where I’m at is around 110. This cameras been in the same spot for two years and still going strong.
How does that cover work with the IR lighting on the camera? I'm looking to use a wyze camera outside but seems like anything over the IR lights and it all just reflects back to the camera lens.
Not well..... it causes a lot of glare. The IR on these cameras only gets you 10-15ft. You'd be better off shutting off the IR and installing one of these:ua-cam.com/video/iEKkOs8RvHU/v-deo.html
Nope, not well at all. I had to buy a separate IR floodlight similar to the one that DYD lists here. You have to turn off the CamPan's IR lights but you leave the night setting on when using the separate IR floodlight. I was amazed at the brightness and coverage the separate light creates which is way better than just the CamPan's output.
Yes, that’s an issue. I’ve put rain-x (for plastic, the stuff they sell for motorcycle helmets, not windshields) on the covers of my cameras and it’s worked great.
@@DoItYourselfDad I have some Dome Cameras that have IR lights in them and they work. Thats why I asked my Wyze in front of windows I turn off IR. but then leave floods on auto. then no glare and picture is good.
@@DoItYourselfDad with the night vision on and IR off how is the picture quality? I also saw that you used an IR illuminator in one of your videos, would that still work in this situation with the cover on?
You know I have 4 wyze cams outside. The cams have been outside for over almost 10 months. I have two wyze pans and two wyze V2. I bought the protective casing for them. The cams are still performing well under extreme weather conditions. Not one problem from the wyze cams. All together in the house and out I have 7 wyze cams.
you look to be 4 to 8 inches under the eve...the chances of it getting wet are very slim...plus you even said yall get very little rain...also what about condensation build up have you had that issue? How does the IR react with the cover on? Silicon the wire in place? That voids the warranty right there...Dont get me wrong its a nice video just lots of questions
We live in the desert, we don't get tons of rain but when we do it's windy.... so much so the valley we live in is named after the local Native American language's word for wind. The rain comes in sideways, the camera still gets soaked. As far as the IR, it's not really usable inside the housing.
is there any problems connecting the camera to my Xfinity internet only? I have a Reolink camera that won't connect wireless after downgrading my Xfinity to internet only from TV,internet, phone. Xfinity says it isn't on their end of the problem. Blast! Pro downloads 275 Mbps uploads 10 Mbps
The cover you show here is a good one for complete protection but mine started turning yellow from the UV rays of the sun. I wish I could find one made of a UV resistant plastic.
With the protective case on, I think that turning on the IRs would make for a bad nighttime video. That means the IR needs to be turned off in the app, which leaves you with two options for illumination; 1. Have sufficient lighting in the area using LED floodlights or such, or 2. Place external IR LED fixtures if you'd rather prefer the area to be pitch dark, but still provide IR lighting for the camera to capture footage.
Great job!! You might also mention that the IR function will not work with the cover. But another video showed how you turn IR off and use outdoor light.
2 things about this enclosure that don't make sense, the IR at night will reflect off the plastic (you can test this using a clear plastic cup, you will see), and it holds evaporated moisture around the unit due to the bottom being uncovered. There are other better options available for the wyze pan for outdoors.
Standing next to it, not loud at all, a slight whirring noise. When you listening to the video the camera shot its a bit louder, especially inside the housing.
@@DoItYourselfDad Just ordered 3 Pan Cams and 4 of the V2's direct from the Wyze website. It also cost me $25 less than going through Amazon! This would be a haven for wasps, frogs and spiders.

What is the temperature range such as if you live where it drops below zero.
