No see this is advanced flight dynamics, the GIAT is actually the world's first relaxed stability airplane. The pilot is just built different and manhandles the plane into submission.
climbs like a bicycle and locks up like a train, what a great combo truely a dutch plane. although it looks cool to me and shouldnt be too frustrating at 2.3
13:48 it's not even like France don't have plenty of indigenous designs, for WW2 there is still some mass produced planes that are missing (Bloch 151 and 155 per example) and a TON of prototypes that never got the chance to be mass produced because the moustache man visited Paris. After WW2 there is another ton of prototypes, export variants and mass produced planes left to be added

Finland added two nice 109, when you only had the T18 or the J26. Benelux doesn't even had a useful rank 3 or 4 plane. The firefly has funny guns but that's it.
For me it felt like this thing holds speed in horizontal turns like forever at 250 kph
My issue with the sub-tech-trees is when one gets added it changes the lvl requirements of the entire tech-tree it became part of. Like now i cant progress my Swedish tree from rank 6 to rank 7 cuz i supposed to go back to rank 4 to have more vehicles at that rank. But I'll just want for a rank 4 premium or event vehicle, and don't play Sweden till that; don't need another clone of something I already played in like 3 other nation's tree!
Was running circles over this with my yak1b German premium. This Fokker has crazy guns tho.

you should play the Br.693AB2 in the french tech tree. it sits currently at 1.7
has decent engines and armament (only downside is that the gun is pointed down) also uptier it to 2.3 or higher
as ittl perform better against planes that aint biplanes lol

the thing that actually makes me mad is that Gaijin is more willing to make up a whole new branch of planes and yet they are not willing to put into the game THE MOST produced Wildcat model ever; the FM-2, a F4f-3 (the 4 gun one) with a 1350 Hp Wright R-1830-56 engine. 5,837 built by General Motors/Eastern Aircraft, vs the ~1,100 built by Grumman of the F4f type.
I've seen other WT youtubers hype the fuck out of this plane, but when I flew it it felt lackluster

I think removing base AA would be a mistake.
It should be nerfed as it is currently too powerful, but it still should deter you from flying above the enemy base.
Yellow damage doesn’t harm your performance as long as it isn’t at your oil/water cooling.
So how would I fix the AA dmg?
For the first minute the AA would just go around you. You’d have some rounds exploding around you and going around you, not damaging you. This would show to the enemy team that there’s somebody above/near their base.
After the first minute for 4 minutes(5 in total.) you’d get yellow damage, as a warning to move out of the range, but not really damaging you. You’d still have 5 mins to kill whoever it is your trying to kill, which should be enough, as the timer could restart if you leave the airfield (~ 3 km horisontally).
After that 5 mins?
You’d slowly get hit with more and more damage until you’d be shot down after ~7.5 mins. That’d be so long that you can not blame the AA for not killing whoever you were trying to kill (again).
And making it check every minute that you were inside 3 km your altitude we could have even longer periods between these timers.
At 0-1 km above the numbers would be as stated. 1-2 a minute more to the ”low damage” AA. 2-3 2 minutes more…
You get the idea. This’d be better than removing AA IMO.

There are a number of aircraft that are genuinely crippled if it gets yellow anything on the wings. A number of them go into unrecoverable spins if they have a section of wing anything beyond yellow and get slow.
As for your suggestion? Honestly it is just bad. 3km in alt above the base is basically nothing. The AA might as well not exist at all with that range limitation. The timer thing is overly and unnecessarily complex but it does reflect the historical fact that AA got more accurate the longer something lingered in the area.
Ultimately base AA just needs to be disabled unless an aircraft arrives at the base with low/no fuel or ammo or significant enough battle damage. The game already actively tracks all of this as is. When an aircraft with those prerequisites shows up in AA range it activates for a limited time, say 3 mins, and then shuts off again with a cool down to avoid abuse.
Base AA (without missiles) also needs to be tuned relative to BR rather than tuned to be balanced against 9.0 and the lower in BR you go the more screwed you are.

About that if the AA is on for 3 mins if somebody with a capability to fight how would that work? Would the AA work similarly as now, but shut down after that? That would be toxic, as you can then let the enemies kill your teammates easily. As you could turn off the AA while you could have teammates repairing/reloading.

Yes, and bombers count too if they don't have any other armament with ammo, including turrets. Yes, this sucks for medium and heavy bombers with turrets because turret reloads (when no other plane can reload anything mind you) but frankly medium and heavy bombers with turrets need another option like a point in the air to fly to to exit the combat area and then fly back in if they want to try another bombing run.

That isn't toxic. Toxic is doing something deliberate that is detrimental/unfair. Your examples are just poor team coordination or unfortunate circumstances. Yes, it would suck when it happens but the reality is that there is no perfect solution here that is simple that Gaijin doesn't have a chance to mess up. Somehow, some way you are going to be screwing someone over no matter the solution you come up with if you want a simple solution that Gaijin can't manipulate or screw with. So what is the least damaging way you can screw players over? Frankly the players that are on the offensive have the greater right to not be screwed over than the ones having to RTB. They are the ones playing better and should have the advantage.
The reality is that it isn't often that players constantly need to rtb to base, never mind how rarely they actually need base AA. The best possible solution would be to take my idea and add an opposing player tracker to it so that it only activates when an opposing player also gets in range while a qualified player is within AA range and then is only active for the duration of repair + 1 minute or a total of 3 mins, whichever is shorter, to prevent abuse like someone out of ammo flying indefinitely in base AA. Problem is complexity, see below.

Ki-96. My favorite go to example because of the number of times I've seen it happen, both to me and other players flying it. Yellow causes a loss in performance in every aircraft. Some aircraft the damage model is more heavy handed than others because Gaijin can't do consistency or realistic.

This is why the best solution possible is one they don't have a lot of options to mess with, a la something that isn't complex, that also uses in game systems already in place meaning minimal work and testing on Gaijin's end. My suggestion doesn't add anything new. It uses already in game trackers and adds them to one line of code to determine if AA is on or off when a friendly player approaches with another line of code to shut it off after a certain time has passed and a 3rd for a cool down timer. Adding the opposing player factor adds complexity but is a far better system as it only activates AA when actually needed.
Honestly, this plane would be made 1000X more interesting and memorable if they allowed it to carry its alternative armament of two 7.92 FN-Browning MGs and two 23mm Madsen autocannons. Unfortunately, Gaijin has decided that, for the most part, only the Soviets are allowed to choose multiple gun types for one given aircraft.

Firefly is an attack aircraft. You are going to struggle in air combat against a competent opponent. Meteor is okish when not in an up tier of any kind. Hunter is in powercreep hell.

Hot take: i don't care about new aircraft, I want to enjoy the ones I do have. if I log off early on any given day it's not because I'm not getting an intravenous injection of dopamine from a new unlock, it's because I'm tired of large matches with no room. Either I die because I don't want to play something nimble, I spend the whole match pissing everyone off because my strength is speed and I have to run because my team died like idiots, or everyone's dead because I played something Nimble and wasn't aggressive enough.
