@@shahramtondkarmobarakie1824 The late war Spitfires absolutely dominate the Yak-3 in terms of sheer performance, remember that these aircraft derived from racing planes, they’re made to be as fast as feasibly possible for the airframe, and as agile. Also it should be noted that the VK has a higher rip speed as well as well as better linear energy retention which essentially helps it to be effectively faster after a dive even when it is not officially faster than the 3U
VK-107 has a higher rip speed and less drag, I believe it also turns a tiny bit better. It's been my favorite plane to fly since it was added, if only the guns were more consistent. I'm hoping they add the VK-108 prototype with 10% more power someday, that would be the ultimate superprop

yak -3u is a menace. It's straight line speed, turn rate and climb rate make it an amazing aircraft, even those extra IAS dive speeds help with boom and zoom.
@@Rumpelpumpel3 No. It's level flight top speed on the deck is around 390mph. That is faster than nearly every prop full stop. Nothing German or Japanese can match and only a few British and a number of American props can beat it. The 3U is genuinely one of the fastest, best climbing and most maneuverable props below 3km. This is why I have been saying that it should have been 6.0 when it first appeared on the dev server that introduced it to the game.

Just had a game were we had 5 premium A7m1's plus 2 A7m2's and I thought we had it in the bag before it started. Unfortunately none of the other A7 pilots were trained off DEFYN's videos but I was. So they all died in about a minute LMAO but I made it to the end with the high score 3 or 4 kills cant remember. THANK YOU DEFYN for teaching me to fly!
Yak-3s have got to be some of my favourites to fly in the whole game if I want to turn off my brain, especially the French premium Yak (I forgot how many golden eagles that one cost)
One of these caught me as a was rtb, I was in a P51 and I swear I was supposed to be at least 20mph faster than this Yak-3? Am I missing something? In flat level flight according to the WT plane stats, I should have been pulling away but in the end he stayed with me and caught me up? How is this, as I say, am I missing some important info? Thanks...;D
Honestly all those Yak's, La's, IL's and all that clearly non-bias'ed stuff is scary. I'm average at best, and have tried Yak in RB a few times and was dominating, way too easy IMO When transitioning to a nation without those planes you risk hitting a wall, because you can't do anything the Yak/La/IL can't do (and often better). And likewise, it's easy to get complacent with ace maker plane.
8:54 you can throw yourself in there and dog fight every one every where all at once and just like that "BOOM" (Taken) ad I really thought you were gonna get em
a the maneuver .. "na i can crash".. amazing maneuver!! i saw it is many planes.. is a new trend!! amazing for loosing airplanes.. and that maneuver works with the tanks too!!!
That shit about the A7M couldn't be more right. I bought the premium one (A7M1 NK9H) and that shit was printing me SL, only really finding some few aircraft tricky to deal with.
Fun to fight these in the j2m2. 152H is another great matchup. The lack of overheating feels cheap, i find it suspicious the soviets built engines that durable considering the previous track record of aircraft engines
Actuallyt the Supercharger #2 takes over above 4000m and you gain power until 5ish thousand meters. Despite the WEP turning grey. 6000M is really where the engine powers becomes a weakness.
Armament be damned, planes should be tiered according to their flight performance and the 3U is what 6.3 should look like, it should be competing with the P-51H, it has the performance. Also if you're looking for a counter play, the J2Ms can fly against the 3U pretty well & keep up with it in most cases if you play your cards right. Also probably the G55 at 5.3 but that's riskier.
J2Ms can do it but only really when under 2.5km. Above that, the J2Ms lose their engine power advantage. My recommendation is the A7M. Don't let yourself get baited into going too fast and compressing and there's not much they can do.
@@reinbeers5322 There is actually a lot that a 3U can do against an A7M. Both A7Ms have sub 25m/s climb rate compared to the 3Us near 33m/s climb rate. Both A7Ms are slower than the J2M2/3 too. They also have worse roll and lock up faster than the J2Ms. The only advantage that the A7Ms have is turn rate and that just isn't enough when the A7Ms lock up faster than the 3U does. The A7M doesn't have a single way to force a fight short of the 3U player royally screwing up. The J2M does and sub 2km it hard counters the 3U's climb with it's own just shy of 33m/s climb rate. The J2M2/3 really is, by far, the better plane to be in when facing a Yak-3U.
@@rainsilent Statcard climb rate is pretty much always wrong, same with turn rate. They both account for full fuel, and if you've seen an A7M's fuel tanks, they're quite big. All J2Ms were designed as interceptors so they don't carry much. Same with the Yaks. A7M2 is faster than a J2M3 up high, and at sea level they're about the same. Both also lock up pretty bad at around 600kph, maybe a tad earlier. Worse roll, kinda. You can tap the rudder a little to compensate, its only a bother when trying to follow someone really close from behind. Its not just turn rate, the A7M2 especially has much more engine power than the J2M3 right around where the Yak3U loses its WEP - hence why the J2Ms are only _really_ dangerous below 2.5km. Its very long wings help it retain all of its maneuverability at any altitude, the J2M doesn't. The 3U can try to force the A7M to overspeed and compress, but all he has to do in return is pull back up and not take the bait. From that point on, the 3U is now below a plane that can significantly outturn it, and has to climb (losing speed) to match it - A7M only has to fly straight. And while their MER isn't that good, both the J2Ms and A7Ms will keep a decent chunk of their speed. Once they get close to the 3U, the fight is over. Don't get baited into high speed dives, or if you do, cut throttle and use prop airbrake and full cowl flaps to keep your speed in check. If that A7M2 player had done so in the video, Defyn likely wouldn't have survived. Though against the average Yak3U player (and the reason why it is still 5.7), even the N1K2s can kill one.
@@reinbeers5322 A7M is a fair choice, if you're comfortable playing at a slight disadvantage altitude wise there's no problem with that, the J2M offers a bit more options for me so that's where I lean. A7M is a good pick no matter what so I try not to play it too much is all. If that 3U doesn't want to get caught he's simply not going to so I like my speed for the kill secure. A7M is the turning god at that tier tho
@@reinbeers5322 Those aren't stat card numbers mate. Those are numbers from WTRTI. Yes, the A7M2 is faster 5km and up but fights rarely happen up there anymore. The A7Ms lock up earlier and harder than the J2Ms do. While they might start at around the same time the severity of compression on the A7M is worse. "Its not just turn rate, the A7M2 especially has much more engine power than the J2M3 right around where the Yak3U loses its WEP" Yet the J2M2/3 has significantly better climb rate all the way up through 6km. The better engine power isn't making a climb rate difference. It is just turn rate. Ok, and speed above 5km. "Its very long wings help it retain all of its maneuverability at any altitude, the J2M doesn't." No idea what gives you this idea when the J2M2/3 doesn't turn any worse above 4km compared to below 4km relatively. "From that point on, the 3U is now below a plane that can significantly outturn it, and has to climb (losing speed) to match it " Two problems. 1. The 3U is SIGNIFICANTLY faster. 2. The 3U has a SIGNIFICANTLY better climb rate up through 5km. Thus being below an A7M doesn't mean jack $hit to a 3U. An A7M above a 3U is a complete non threat so long as the 3U doesn't do something incredibly stupid. Thus your scenario is completely worthless.
DEFYN pls explain to me how the yak 3U at 6.0 with the same M-82fn engine as the 3.7 La-5fn is the yak 3 airframe lighter or something i really dont get it
The 3U is a lot lighter. 2,310kgs empty vs 2,780kgs for the lightest empty weight of a La-7 (which is a lighter and more aerodynamically efficient 5FN. The 5FN itself being 2,852kgs). 1kg=2.2lbs. So the more than 500kgs lighter that the 3U is translates to half of a ton of weight.

imo the tracer belts hits quite hard if you land even one shot, it kinda feels like mg 151's mine shots
The M163 being in a match with mainly prop planes is awesome.
Yeah i was surprised to beat a P51h yesterday in it while almost stock. it's pretty damn good
Tbh If you are under 1500 meters you can beat them in almost every category besides speed, seriously I won against a p51h in an energy fight
Bottom 2 is my favorite, this used to be my favorite plane a few years back it was like 4.0 or 4.3 then they sent the repair cost through the roof, but that plane made it feel easy
I've been finding that last part of the video to be a quite common occurrence especially in jets. They get one guy on them and they don't even try to put up a fight, they just slam it into the dirt, kiss a couple trees and leave
yak -3u is a menace. It's straight line speed, turn rate and climb rate make it an amazing aircraft, even those extra IAS dive speeds help with boom and zoom.
Isnt the straight line speed one of the things thats ass about it? Very good engine but no good max speed?
@@Rumpelpumpel3 technically but its acceleration allows it to reliably reach its top speed unlike most other props
@@rainsilent yeah and no, shivaks were bababooga back then, now that it's guns one tap it indeed is worthy for 6.0 .
@@Rumpelpumpel3 680kmh straight line speed at sea level is not ass.
I’ve been looking for another Yak-3U vid for ages, you read my mind (I play it lots)
You are a retard, and nobody thinks you are good when you use that easy aircraft.
Hilarious banter 🤣
‘No thanks, I already fucked myself this morning and I’m on a little bit of a cool down’ and other gems 🤣🤣
Defyn: casually explaining his prowess
Everyone else: AHHHHHHHHH
The music in the background unironically makes it a lit more entertaining
Funny how just like in his last Yak-3U video, he ended up reversing an A7M2.
Paid actors confirmed!
You should make a montage of every time you say "and he just flies into my guns" lol.
I sit at like 7:1 kdr in this thing while lawn-darting directly into every furball, it really is the craziest plane in the game (besides the BI-1)
1:37 you can almost see him think about stealing that but he doesn’t. Be like defyn
*posted 1 minute ago.*
Wow i really loved that part where you did that thing-
been flying the yak3u for a long time, but when i got better as a pilot I realised how extremely broken this plane is
Yeah this plane is kinda busted. I have it and it’s one of my favorite post war props. It’s not impossible to deal with but dogfights are a big no-no. Good vid Deafen
This and the 9UT in Ground RB are a fun time.
Listening to ai Bikinibottom characters beefing with eachother while playing is actually fucking crazy💀
If I was forced to fly the Narwal I'd probably just give the deck a high-velocity hug too...
I've never flown the Yak-3U, when I was doing my USSR grind I used the Yak-9U to get to the MiG-15.
Perhaps I should give the 3U a shot sometime.
Yak-9u is underrated as hell
@@HoChiMemethat shit goes 580 at the deck and out turns 80% of all aircraft at that br.
s.o8000 knew you couldn't follow his turn into the afterlife.
What do you think of Severe Damage and the Written Off mechanic of "dying" because of damage at the end of a match won or lost on tickets?
This reminds me of the Zero gameplay, wanting to turn in the direction of the enemy before they pass you so you can get shots on them quickly. Only difference is this thing has insane performance
Love the video. Reckon you could do a video on the sabre as you haven’t for a while?
@DEFYN can you make a video of the Yak 3T please ?
Just had a game were we had 5 premium A7m1's plus 2 A7m2's and I thought we had it in the bag before it started. Unfortunately none of the other A7 pilots were trained off DEFYN's videos but I was. So they all died in about a minute LMAO but I made it to the end with the high score 3 or 4 kills cant remember. THANK YOU DEFYN for teaching me to fly!
I love the JJK references in almost every video
I love facing Me 262s in my yak 3p, amazing match making ay
Such balance, teamkill magnet, totally earned.
Yak-3s have got to be some of my favourites to fly in the whole game if I want to turn off my brain, especially the French premium Yak (I forgot how many golden eagles that one cost)
1600, full price, 800 in a sale
You are right about being able to turn your brain off in a yak. Its the prop example of russian bias.
Thanks...;D
@DEFYN please take the La-200 for a ride!
I wish I had 10% of Defyn's piloting skills lol
what's the best ammo to use? I usually use HE
How are you feeling about the new damage thing?
Honestly all those Yak's, La's, IL's and all that clearly non-bias'ed stuff is scary.
I'm average at best, and have tried Yak in RB a few times and was dominating, way too easy IMO
When transitioning to a nation without those planes you risk hitting a wall, because you can't do anything the Yak/La/IL can't do (and often better).
And likewise, it's easy to get complacent with ace maker plane.
gonna head to the store and buy my favorite cookies to eat while watching you 😊
btw, would you try the japanese G8N1?
Defyn with ww2 planes is peak content
8:54 you can throw yourself in there and dog fight every one every where all at once and just like that "BOOM" (Taken) ad I really thought you were gonna get em
sucks that the so8000 outplayed defyn at the end
a the maneuver .. "na i can crash".. amazing maneuver!! i saw it is many planes.. is a new trend!! amazing for loosing airplanes..
and that maneuver works with the tanks too!!!
That shit about the A7M couldn't be more right. I bought the premium one (A7M1 NK9H) and that shit was printing me SL, only really finding some few aircraft tricky to deal with.
loved this one. cheers.
11:35 BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT
It would be really nice if you could make videos on the VG.33 and J 22. They're real hidden gems that none of the CCs seem to cover.
I finally have a BR where I see these regularly and they seemed to be the ultimate brainless plane. This video kind of confirmed it lol
We need another Defyn out of context video.
Fun to fight these in the j2m2. 152H is another great matchup. The lack of overheating feels cheap, i find it suspicious the soviets built engines that durable considering the previous track record of aircraft engines
The 3U IRL was a postwar development and indeed did have overheating issues.
greatest outro ive ever seen
Took my Yak-3U out to test maximum altitude today just for fun; stopped at 11,555m at 360km/hr! Hit Mach 0.83 on the dive back to earth LOL! :)
Actuallyt the Supercharger #2 takes over above 4000m and you gain power until 5ish thousand meters. Despite the WEP turning grey. 6000M is really where the engine powers becomes a weakness.
Glorb is goated, spongebob rap is on top, and the video is makimg me cream.
Thanks defyn
Finalllllllly one of my favourite planes😍😍😍
Nobody thinks you are good when you play something easy like a yak. You are a traitor.
I love the 3U because its just hella clean
Defyn show us the yak 1 B
"Its not just turn rate, the A7M2 especially has much more engine power than the J2M3 right around where the Yak3U loses its WEP"
Yet the J2M2/3 has significantly better climb rate all the way up through 6km. The better engine power isn't making a climb rate difference. It is just turn rate. Ok, and speed above 5km.
"Its very long wings help it retain all of its maneuverability at any altitude, the J2M doesn't."
No idea what gives you this idea when the J2M2/3 doesn't turn any worse above 4km compared to below 4km relatively.
"From that point on, the 3U is now below a plane that can significantly outturn it, and has to climb (losing speed) to match it "
Two problems.
Defyn listening to glorb is so shocking and awesome
DEFYN pls explain to me how the yak 3U at 6.0 with the same M-82fn engine as the 3.7 La-5fn is the yak 3 airframe lighter or something i really dont get it
Yak 3 is at 4.3 with a 1000 hp engine and you already feel overpowered, double the hp without increasing the weight, yeah
The 3U is a lot lighter. 2,310kgs empty vs 2,780kgs for the lightest empty weight of a La-7 (which is a lighter and more aerodynamically efficient 5FN. The 5FN itself being 2,852kgs). 1kg=2.2lbs. So the more than 500kgs lighter that the 3U is translates to half of a ton of weight.
yes, it is much lighter and also more aerodynamic
Looks fun, need to try it out
You should make a vid on the yak3p I did a dogfight against it in the 3u and I’ve never been closer in my life
Spongebob rap caught me off guard
Man these guys that just slam their plane into the ground after losing the first 10 seconds of the dogfight are hilarious. They really think theyre doing something by instantly giving up and acknowledging they can never beat you
It is a yak3 after all
We making it out Bikini Bottom with this one 🔥🔥
I also have bad luck in this thing against 109s - specifically the K model.
This thing scares me when I fly Ta 152H, sure I can dive faster than him but the usual "Drain enemy's balls until he drops from sky" doesn't work on this monster.
