I played against a VTE player in a me 262 about a month or so ago, we got into an epic dogfight and I unfortunately lost. The player (cant remember their name) was so helpful and friendly in explaining where i went wrong and the strengths of my plane. Really appreciated it.

@@finntastique3891 i did it because my mentality was: one less player who doesn’t know the capability of their own plane. Defyn helped me a lot during my WW2 US air grind. I’m sure to apply that to the German and Russian Air tree when I get around them (German props I cannot fly for the life of me)
I also just really like dogfights regardless if I win or lose and the more equal the fight is the more fun I get out of it.

I have an Me 262 model with this exact skin painted on it. I love it, but in game it looks really strange: the colours are way too bright and saturated, not like in other German planes; they probably screwed up with this skin. A shame, really; it could be better.

They're quite common on people who think they're good because they use the same decals as DEFYN.

WWII top scoring ace Erich Hartmann always painted his 109 nose with black tulip.
Later he gave his 109 to new pilots because the enemy fighters kept avoiding fights when they see the nose art and he couldn’t get any kills.

the only way to kill a BI - have 2 teammates around, sacrifice one of them, and still spend 5 minutes trying to catch him
and for average player, 5 or 6 teammates might not be enough
The BI is probably the most blatantly pay-to-win aircraft in the whole game. It's the main reason I stopped playing Squadron Battles.
It's not thattt good. Maybe for an ace pilot you can do work. But against a BI in squad battles, all you have to do is just don't fly solo and alternate flight paths. The BI going for one plane then ultimately has to sacrifice position to the second. And if you're accurate, then you should make short work of the BI. Plus the BI can't really go after ground targets. It can definitely clear out an air team if the pilots are uncoordinated, not flying meta, and/or are just not good. But beyond that, I think people just mythologize the BI because they've never played it; you build up this big nasty beast in your head based on some youtuber and it's just not what you think it is. The BI is a one trick pony. Once you understand that trick, it's not so scary. I like to think of the BI as an exaggerated lim5p. All the advantages of the lim5p are heightened and all the disadvantages of the lim5p are worse. That is the BI. So play to it's weaknesses against it, and void it of its strengths.
@@searchengine27I have seen 5 or 6 BI and everytime I see one they clean at least 5 people on the enemy team. It is a strong plane especially in normal mm (hopefully they are always on my side)
@@searchengine27 "Not that good", the fact you need at least 2 planes working perfectly in unison to kill a single BI is all the argument needed for it being that strong. Not only that the BI will kill anyone if they make the smallest timing mistake in a dogfight.
DEFYN needing two spitfires to be constantly dogfighting it for 2 minutes and a full commit headon to kill it is all the argument needed.

Def was in a 2v1 against the BI in a low maneuver aircraft, and did exactly what I said. He disengaged while the BI was targeting the spitfire, and the BI couldn't keep track of the spitfire because of the interval attacks by Def. My point proven exactly almost to a T

Never ran into Defyn yet (to my knowledge), but I have ran into Coppen like 15 times in the last month and it was gold. Dude just starts shittalking the entire lobby right away and 5 minutes later the game is over and he's got 8 kills in a Mig15.
I don't get why people are so scared of dying in a video game. Had a match where one guy camped the airfield and wouldn't leave until we won on tickets. I think people forget that this is just a game.
I would have that mindset if the shitty repair costs wouldnt exist so i could just go ahead and have fun

@@taxigalaxirepair costs arent even high. The most expensive vehicle to repair in game is only about 15k. Theres so many ways to earn SL, if repairs are breaking your bank then you have some serious skill issues you need to address.

You cant just say skill issue like its a general fault where i am wanting to have fun and not nessecairly get insane amounts of kills. Obviously returns should be higher if you play well but going broke from having an average kd should not be a thing.
When I see a guy popping off, that makes me WANNA fight and challenge them. Its a way to not only prove yourself but also a chance to learn (especially if they are just that good). Then we have clowns like those two lol

as a sweatlord myself I usually ask for forgiveness when i fly a bad plane against someone well known. But I usually fly to the side of the map for a bit and engage at the middle of the map just in case I have to skidaddle with half a wing back to repair lol.

On a different note: When you talked about meeting Mig-15s and undertiered planes. I've recently gotten the Mig-15bis and oh boy is that thing too strong for its BR. I'm currently sitting on a 10.0 K/D with it and that is not normal for me. I'm not that good. However I've found that I struggle carrying in that plane. I've now had two matches were I was 1v4 and 1v6 and in both matches I had total control of the enemies. It was my game to lose essentially. I had the alt, the speed and the plane to carry it home but I simply couldn't get guns on them. The Mig-15bis has insane power and speed retention but to me it also feels like a brick and getting guns on is what cost me both of those games. The enemy managed to always *just* dodge my guns because I couldn't pull enough AOA. I lost both games on tickets with two enemies still alive because of that. It feels like I'm missing something, some detail about the plane that I just can't figure out. Maybe it's my positioning but when you're being chased by 4 guys you take what you can get. Is that just an inherent limitation of the plane that it can't pull any AOA or is there like a sweet spot at lower speeds that I haven't found yet?
The MiG-15s just really struggle with nose authority and especially roll rate. It doesn’t help that the guns are hard to aim. I would just practice your aim with them.

Was flying the J2M3 once and this guy in his Fw 190D-9 was so angry I shot him down, calling me skilless and a loser, laughed at him and he got more angry begging me for a 1v1 lol he had like 600 kills and 30ish deaths so he wasn’t a bad player but he was so much of a sweat and got mad at me for playing to my strengths and not playing the to the Fw 190s strengths

This doesn't mean that they aren't a bad player. I've run into plenty of players with high K/Ds that were actually trash players that got their K/Ds by camping the AF or being extremely passive and once I got them into a dogfight they were completely clueless.

You know I’ve gotten frustrated when playing against people better than me before, but I’ve never been so afraid of them that I sit on my airfield and complain about them being tryhards while my tickets bleed
I switched from Ground RB to Air RB after 1500 hours of tank gameplay due to how crappy ground is at the moment, your videos thaught me how to not head on, I can get like 2-3 kills every match if I don't activate boosters lol.

This plane has been evidence for years that the 262 should be 6.7, even before the compression for the early jets got worse. 5.7 props are more than capable against it and a few other early jets (meteor mk3 comes to mind but it went up to 7.3 instead because people couldn't stop turnfighting it and losing)
There are very few things in WT that are as funny as a premade, "coordinated" squad that still isn't competitive

Prop players that never flied an early jet, may think you are messing with them. The early jets solved the problem of getting through the escorts, and burning bombers. Jets don't need the highly refined fuel that the messerschmits and Folkewulfs. The jet runs on kerosene. I didn't know that there was a more nimble two gun version. Warthunder doesn't do large bomber formations with escort, so a 262 like this one makes sense. Don't dogfight. But you're right, without friends up there, you must resort to head on attacks. Not a good policy.

What is the best metric to know if you play well in a specific plane ?
In the old times, we didn't care about win ratio because of the nation-locked maps, but now that's no longer an issue, does wijn ratio is a good metric of skill ? Or is it something else (k/d ratio or other) ?
Combination of how active they are in the battle with kills per battle. There are a number of players that get a number of kills by climbing to space, waiting for the opposing players to dive to the deck and then come in late and mop up the players that aren't paying attention. Basically a good player is trying to make a positive impact for their team constantly. Bad players, and this very much includes players that have high K/Ds and win rates but sit in space or at the airfield, don't because they don't actually know what they need to do and they are afraid to learn.
For me it's just how much fun I have playing it. I have kd3+ with yak-3p, but I have so much more fun playing ki-200 with kd around 1.5-2😅

No. They shouldn't. A well flown 262 won't let a prop get close enough to beat it. The only way a prop should ever beat a 262 is because it is 2, 3 or 4+ v1 and they corner the 262. Don't believe me? Watch the video.

Dunno if I am the only one with this issue, but loading speed for videos specifically on DEFYN's channel seems quite low. I have to wait for quite a while before the thing loads enough so I can watch it without freezes and that is in 720p.
I don't have the same problem on other channels.
