The writer of the film was interviewed by the FBI because when they were sent a copy of the script to review for security purposes, they realized that the basics of Simon's plan to distract the NYPD and burrow through to the money could actually work. He had to explain to them that every piece of information he'd used to plot it out was from publicly available sources and guided tours. They actually had to implement new security procedures at the Federal Reserve due to the movie so that this couldn't happen in real life.

Part of this was filmed where I had previously worked on the construction of submarines for General Dynamics in SC. They brought a subway train from NY to crash inside the final assembly building. The storm sewer was built beside that building. A friend who worked on this said that Bruce Willis was likeable but very professional and focused. I of course asked about Sam Jackson but he didn't interact with him. I had one of the "gold" bars from this until I moved from South Carolina.

Fill the 3 gallon jug. Pour the 3 gallons into the 5 gallon jug. Refill the 3 gallon jug. Fill the 5 gallon jug by pouring 2 gallons from the 3 gallon jug. That leaves 1 gallon in the 3 gallon jug. Empty the 5 gallon jug. Pour the 1 gallon remaining in the 3 gallon jug into the now empty 5 gallon jug. Fill the 3 gallon jug. Pour it all into the 5 gallon jug. You now have exactly 4 gallons in the 5 gallon jug.

Die Hard 4.0 is also very good, and more set in these modern times, and everything that has to do with technology, networks, computers, etc., hence the 4.0 in the title.
The next one is set during the Fourth of July. I really liked it. Another generation of Bruce Willis films that you might enjoy are the RED and RED2 films. Lots of action and great casts. Thanks for reacting to this one.
Solving the 4 gallon riddle: Step 1) Fill the 5 gal jug all the way up. Step 2) Pour from the 5 gal jug into the 3 gal jug until it is full, leaving exactly 2 gal of water in the 5 gal jug. Step 3) Empty the 3 gal jug and pour the 2 gal of water from the 5 gal jug into the 3 gal jug, leaving exactly 1 gal of empty space in the 3 gal jug. Step 4) Fill the 5 gal jug all the way up again, then pour from the 5 gal jug into the 3 gal jug until it fills the 1 gal of empty space. 5 gallons of water minus 1 gallon of water equals exactly 4 gallons.
You could also fill the 3 gal up pour it in the other, fill up again and pour it in. You'll have 1 gal. Empty the other jug and pour your one gal in. Fill the 3 gal and pour in with your other and you'll have 4
You'll love the Lethal Weapon film series... They have the same vibe, with characters created by the same writer. Funny/serious action movies. Quite fun.

The water puzzle always seemed to confuse people: 1) Fill the 3 gal jug, pour into the 5. 2) Fill the 3 gal jug again, top off the 5. This will subtract 2 gals from the 3 gal jug, leaving 1 gal. 3) Empty the 5 gal jug. 4) Pour the 1 remaining gal from the 3 gal jug into the now empty 5 gal jug. 5) Refill the 3 gal jug one more time. Adding that to the 1 gal now gives exactly 4 gallons in the 5 gal jug. - or - 1) Fill the 5 gal jug, pour into the 3. 2) Empty the 3 gal jug. 3) Pour the remaining 2 gallons into the 3 gal jug. 4) Refill the 5 gal jug again. 5) Top off the 3 gal jug again. Because it already has 2 gallons, it will only take 1 more gallon. Leaving 4 gallons in the 5 gal jug.
In case you ever need to solve the 4 gallon puzzle, here’s the sequence… Fill the 3 gallon jug all the way, empty it into the 5 gallon jug. Refill the 3 gallon jug and use it to fill the 5 gallon jug the rest of the way, leaving you with 1 gallon in the 3 gallon jug. Empty the 5 gallon jug and pour the 1 gallon left in the smaller jug into the now empty 5 gallon jug. Refill the 3 gallon jug and add it to the 5 gallon jug, giving you exactly 4 gallons. Who knows, might save your life in a park fountain.
At 25:00, I always thought that McClane's Beretta 92FS was the same gun Katya had towards the end of the movie at 27:55, when she shoots at the above helicopter
It's a great action movie. Relevant to point out that Die Hard is known for a franchise that pick ups good action scrips and works them for the character. I don't think any of them are written as Die Hard's after the first one.
Samuel Jackson was asked by Jimmy Fallon for his top 5 characters he has played. Number 1 Mitch Hennesey in The Long Kiss Goodnight, with Geena Davis. Number 5 is Nick Fury. Highly recommend TLKG.
For those who are still trying to figure out the 4 gallons of water in the 5 gallon jug riddle & how McLane & Zeus ended up with 2 gallons in the 3 gallon jug & 5 gallons in the 5 gallon jug, here's the solution: You first fill the 5 gallon jug. You then pour 3 gallons of water into the 3 gallon jug, leaving 2 gallons of water in the 5 gallon jug. You then empty the 3 gallon jug & pour the remaining 2 gallons from the 5 gallon jug into the 3 gallon jug (you now have 2 gallons of water in the 3 gallon jug). You then refill the 5 gallon jug & then pour 1 gallon of water from the 5 gallon jug into the 3 gallon jug, ending up with 3 gallons of water in the 3 gallon jug & 4 gallons in the 5 gallon jug.
Fun fact about this movie. The writer of the script was interrogated by the FBI because the plan for the robbery would have actually worked. The banks and the government were actually kind of mad that they had to now plan for this type of attack.
Very good 'Two and a half men' joke!! 😅😅Bruce Willis has many recommendable movies. I would recommend you not to miss these: 'The Last Boy Scout' (1991), 'Death Becomes Her' (1992), 'Pulp Fiction' (1994), The Fifth Element' (1997), 'Unbreakable' (2000), 'Sin City' (2005), '16 Blocks' (2006), 'Surrogates' (2009), 'Red' (1 and 2), 'The Expendables' (1 and 2), and 'Vice' (2015)
This film has a lot more serious alternate ending (it should be up on youtube). Basically Simon took all of the gold and betrayed his own team too. John (who has lost his job) finds him in a bar, and they play one last game, this time with a rocket launcher.
Throughout the Die Hard series, John's right shoulder always take a pounding. 1. Gets shot 2. Get stabbed 3. Get a piece of wiring stuck in it. 4. Get shot again, twice.

Okay. Allow me to try and produce the simplest solution to the jug problem. Step one: fill the three gallon jug all the way to the top, and pour it into the five gallon jug. Step two: fill the three gallon jug all the way to the top again and pour two gallons into the five gallon jug. And step three: pour one gallon out of the five gallon jug into the three gallon jug, leaving you with four gallons in a five gallon jug. Bingo.
And this scene you can call "Two and a half men" ..... slight change.. "Two and two half men" Been a while since I've seen this. Gonna have to watch it all over again. Glad you enjoyed seeing SLJ here! Take care, Addie!

Solving the 4 gallon riddle:
Step 1) Fill the 5 gal jug all the way up.

5) Top off the 3 gal jug again. Because it already has 2 gallons, it will only take 1 more gallon. Leaving 4 gallons in the 5 gal jug.
Got to checkout Live Free or Die Hard. :)
In case you ever need to solve the 4 gallon puzzle, here’s the sequence…
Fill the 3 gallon jug all the way, empty it into the 5 gallon jug.
28:38 As a resident of Canada, yep, we're more than just hockey and donuts.
"Two and a half men" absolutely hilarious. !!!!
It's a great action movie. Relevant to point out that Die Hard is known for a franchise that pick ups good action scrips and works them for the character. I don't think any of them are written as Die Hard's after the first one.
"My name is Zeus!"
* Kratos in the distance *: Zeus? ZEUUUUS!?
Samuel Jackson was asked by Jimmy Fallon for his top 5 characters he has played. Number 1 Mitch Hennesey in The Long Kiss Goodnight, with Geena Davis. Number 5 is Nick Fury. Highly recommend TLKG.
For those who are still trying to figure out the 4 gallons of water in the 5 gallon jug riddle & how McLane & Zeus ended up with 2 gallons in the 3 gallon jug & 5 gallons in the 5 gallon jug, here's the solution:
You first fill the 5 gallon jug.
I love this movie. It's my favorite Die Hard.
The fourth movie, Live Free or Die Hard IS a holiday movie. It is an Independence Day movie.
I had forgotten this until seeing it, but a gun dealer friend provided the pearl grips for the Walther PPK/pistol used near the end of the film.
This film has a lot more serious alternate ending (it should be up on youtube). Basically Simon took all of the gold and betrayed his own team too. John (who has lost his job) finds him in a bar, and they play one last game, this time with a rocket launcher.
"Two And A Half Men"
LOL! You are ON today!
During Harlem’s scene, Bruce Willis had a white board and the sentence in the movie is CGI.
Whatever it’s a great reaction Addie 😊
I dunno if it was a bluff, but I saw a photo way back in the day, in which the board read "I hate everybody".
@@ToniMcGinty Firstly the board was white and after the director decided to write « I Hate Everybody »
@@noah_ncl0223 Ain't it nice in this day and age when everybody's right? Love it!
Throughout the Die Hard series, John's right shoulder always take a pounding.
1. Gets shot
2. Get stabbed
3. Get a piece of wiring stuck in it.
4. Get shot again, twice.
Ever seen Clue? The woman cop is played by Colleen Camp, Yvette.
'Simon Says' was the original title for the spec script that had nothing to do with John McClane. The script was amended to fit as a Die Hard script.
I hear it was also supposed to be a lethal weapon film at one point, which explains the team up.
Only 2 films left in the franchise... you gonna follow through? 🙂

This is my favorite die hard movie! Im biased since im from NYC. Mid 90s NYC is so nostalgic.
I enjoyed the 4th movie to.. I never touched the 5th one.
There were more payphones back then. The Apple iPhone didn't hit the market until 2007. My Mom once had a rotary phone in the living room.
This was the first movie that I went to go see without my parents. I drove myself, bought my own tickets and popcorn... and missed the first 5 minutes.
Took me like 5 years to see that first bombing.
Easily the best Die Hard sequel.
Bingo.
Live Free or Die hard is only other one worth reacting to. Its just as good as the rest.
And this scene you can call "Two and a half men" ..... slight change.. "Two and two half men"
Been a while since I've seen this. Gonna have to watch it all over again.
Glad you enjoyed seeing SLJ here!
Take care, Addie!
23:14 🤣🤣🤣 "and this scene we can call two and a half men"
Addie are you doing a reaction for Live Free or Die Hard?
Jeremy Irons(Simon Gruber) more recently played Alfred Pennyworth in "Batman v Superman" and "The Justice League."
This movie did at least reference Christmas when John said to the fake dumptruck drivers that somebody had been through there with eight reindeer
Live Free and Die Hard is also a powerful title and you will be glad to know it takes place on another holiday the Fourth of July on Independence Day
Being from NYC it was always cool to see movies in your own city lol 🗽💯
Yess! This was always my favorite :D
The best of the Die Hard movies!
