  • A DIY auto mechanic describes must-have tips for replacing a vapor canister purge valve in a 2023 CHRYSLER PACIFICA HYBRID 3.6L
The most common signs of faulty purge valve issues are declining fuel economy, rough idle, hard start after filling fuel tank, check engine light, and codes P0440-P0455. Note: Check the condition of the vacuum hoses and o-ring connections before replacing the purge valve.

I'm not mechanically inclined whatsoever and thanks to you I did this in less than 10 minutes. Thanks!

Thank you for making this video and mentioning the need for the pick tools! I followed the step by step instructions and completed the task in 10 minutes. I only had trouble removing the Barb connection, it was on pretty tight, but a few twisting and controlled tugs I got it off!
This was for my 2017 Chrysler Pacifica 3.6L. it was having a long crank and a check engine light that would go on and off with a bunch of codes. A online forum for Chrysler Pacificas having the same issues that appeared to be battery, (but wasn't the battery) suggested replacing the Evap Purge solenoid. After lots of research I also agreed...So I did it myself with this video!
Side Note: Any Ladies (or guys) out there with very limited knowledge of cars (like myself), consider doing this yourself! It's easy!

I put in a brand new purge valve; however the new valve is making a very loud ticking. It's properly installed. The previous one was quiet, but decided to replace while already doing MAP sensor and PVC valve. I put the original part back in to stop the ticking. Is this sound normal?

Some after-market valves can be noisy, but noisy valves can work just fine.

@@protipsplus thank you! I ended up swapping for the Mopar OEM part and there is zero noise! While the other may have worked I feel better about no noise ha
