- In my opinion, Shakur Stevenson has the potential to defeat all the top contenders in the 135 lbs weight division. Even if they move up to 140lbs, I believe he still has a good chance of winning.
In this video, I analyze his chances against each of the 'top' opponents. However, there may be one or two that could present him with a challenge.

Tank and Shakur is the fight of the century. Both fighters have top level footwork, defense, and ring IQ. Their styles is what will make the fight exciting. Tank will test Shakur's heart and will, while Shakur will test Tank's ultimate ring IQ. This is the definitive fight of the century
Agreed I think both guys would be very confident of the win. Hopefully doesn’t take as long as Spence vs Crawford did!

@Nic Stone Shakur has better defense range management better output slightly higher iq. Tank is the better athlete god-given power, extremely explosive, really high iq. It's a 50/50 fight imo. Tanks power makes this fight even. Shakur will most likely taste the convos the real question is how does he respond. Tanks low output is his biggest question Shakur is going to stake up rds. Shakur by decision or Tank by stoppage. I lean more towards Shakur but idk we have to see it to know.

The same was said about a Floyd Mayweather, Pernell Whitaker a Sugar Ray Leonard, Shakur skill level is reminiscent of the 3 legends I named those guys just like Shakur boxed opponents to where they became frustrated they either started thinking to much & that took them out the fight or they became reckless & they got knocked out. Tank knows better to make that statement especially with his pedigree from the amateurs to his pro career. Also much as in a fan of Tank how many fights we seen him according to the score cards in an even fight a close fight or actually losing the fight these were fights that his opponents definitely isn’t on the same level as Tank . Tank can’t be in a close fight losing the fight or an even fight with Shakur thinking he’s like the previous opponents Shakur IQ is to high for Tank to just rely on that left uppercut or his lead left hand especially when he teleports it like he does

@@mjgould1192 Tank isn't a very good boxer he simply waits for KO which won't work on every opponents. Pitbull Cruz survived. Gomboa who had a ruptured achilles survived till 12.
Shakur after a couple of years would be even more punch resistant.
I mean Pacquiao was way more atheletic and was way faster than Tank and Floyd easily outpointed him.
Shakur definitely can stay out of range jabbing.
@@redeyexxx1841 tank doesn’t just simply wait for the KO. He sets his opponent up and times them very well. Don’t forget he is one of the most accurate punchers in boxing. And he still has a 93% KO percentage so the power is very clearly there. I don’t think it’s as simple as jab and keep distance vs tank.
@@mjgould1192 Accurate? Yes but not that pin point accuracy against defensive boxers. I've seen Tank getting outboxed many times by even brawlers.
Shakur can definitely fight at distance by jabbing and 1-2. Shakur has good defense as well and I don't think Tank gonna hit him enough times.

One thing is Steveson is super athletic & has amazing reflexes & everything relies on his ability to see & react to everything for everything to work. Like RJJ, this can have a downside because once your not as athletic or have as good reflexes as your prime, everything else starts to fail. Floyd was the lucky ones to have his athleticism & reflexes for his entire career hence why he looks like he is in his prime from 20-40 yo. If Steveson athleticism also says for ages, he could become one of the greatest to ever live when he retires.
Steveson & Haney have practically the same style but Stevesons reflexes, athleticism & reaction time allows him to execute everything better then Haney.
He can basically beat them all from Tank, Haney, Lopez and Navarette when he comes up.
Shakur's ring iq is something else, he is also very versatile. He looked so composed against oscar valdez.
I'm 99% sure Shakur rolls everybody up. Nobody wins more than 3-4 rounds against him at 135. The only one who would have a chance is Tank and that's because of his X factor

I agree with you. The only thing is, each fighter improves dependent upon the challenges they face between now and the date of the fight. So not a forgone conclusion, but I do agree with your opinion. I have been of the same consensus for a while myself. Shakur's has many weapons and in my opinion beats them all.

Stevenson vs Haney comes down to one major issue, I don’t think Haney is as odiously arrogant/confident as Stevenson.
Of the three Haney’s resume is the only one that merits any genuine praise but seems to get all the criticism??
But Ortiz is the one being slept on, that was his first 12 round fight vs Lomo and post that experience he definitely has chance vs anyone at 35/40

Martin is a good fighter but the tendency he has with raising his arm before he punches Shakur IQ will either catch Martin at the end of his punches or faint to bait him to get him out of position. All those other guys you named with the exception of Devin will get out classed easy. Ryan & Rolly no dice they need to get their footwork on a pro level before even dreaming about facing a Sugar Shakur Stevenson. Only 3 fights for Shakur: Tank Dev & Martin & I still say he beats them all
Shakur is great he won’t lose at 135 obviously he could get caught by tank but i think shakur is great counter puncher but my only criticism is shakur only really pulls and uses feet he doesn’t slip and counter or duck counter if you study him it’s pulls and step backs he just has great command of distance so doesn’t have to anything else but I think if there was a fighter like prime Gonzales or GGG that are great at cutting off the ring who knows as crazy as it sounds I think tank is a more skilled counter puncher but gets hit to set the trap only time will tell 🥊life4life
Fair opinion Billy. Yeah he uses very minimal and subtle movement which is just enough for him not to get hit. I agree about Tank’s counter punching is probably one of his strongest attributes. I do think it would be competitive fight!

Tank is like he has a switch that is turned on from the 8th round, that makes him care less about yo punches but wanna knock u out, when that switch is on, he is unstoppable..

I agree except Gervonta, not that he's more skilled, but I think the move up in weight and less effective power of shakur combined with the strength and power of gervonta means he can just overpower shakur and sort of nullify his skills.

I think Tank beats them all. He punches like a middleweight and has top defense. Not everyone has chin and endurance like Isaac Cruz to be able to withstand those shots. Also like Tank said, Shakur hasn't proven himself at 135 yet. Sure he is good enough for below top 5 fighters, but Haney, Loma and Tank are a whole other game.
Lets hope he doesn't pad his record too much and at least goes against the likes of Isaac Cruz or Ortiz (the later which he called out).

Isaac Cruz and William Zepeda ducked Shakur when they were ordered to fight him by the WBC. Shakur would've beaten the breaks of them as well. You don't need to see a fighter fight the best competition at 135. I haven't seen Boots Ennis fight anyone elite but I know with common sense that he's a top fighter because I have eyes.

I don't see Shakur beating Tank anytime soon tbh He has the style to catch tank coming in all night, but when the FIRE COMES as Teddy says, and with Tank it will come, I don't see him surviving a full on assault from Tank. He's fast with his hands and with his feet, which has allowed him to defend well, but he doesn't move his head one bit, and i think Tank is able to make him pay for that. Idk I love both fighters, and I might be wrong, just sharing my thoughts

When they fight the fights, we'll know. Shakur beats them all until someone comes out of nowhere and beats him. Until Haney can't make weight because he was fighting at 135 when he was 16 years old. Loma was a great amateur, but not a great professional. Three losses and a lucky break with Linares. Tank has got up to 180 between fights, and may blow up his private life. This is why they fight the fights.

I think some of the other contenders at Lightweight give Shakur a better fight than the top 4 because of the unorthodoxy of their styles. Edwin De Los Santos is a dark horse in the division and will be an extremely hard test, I'm glad the fight is happening. I'd like to see him against Teofimo Lopez who I think is the most talented and proven out of the lightweight princes, but has flaws to his style and a questionable mental state.
Tank Davies will beat them all he is the man a real one . Some fighters are the hype of social media overrated . Tank Davies is the real one no need the social media .
If shakur did not have pillow fists he could beat them all.. But right now shakur cant beat tank since he has both the skill and the power... while shakur has nothing to keep tank off of him..
