But I must say, I am actually learning boxing now, from a boxing master, who is surely thousands of miles away (greetings from Spain), and from these great film studies. Congrats on the amazing job Gems!
Now... this is the lightweight fight we need to see. This fight MUST HAPPEN at some point in time in the next 12 months.
Shakur is one of the most complete fighters I have ever witnessed in my life and I definitely agree with the UD prediction, probably on a huge points difference.
But, this time I would be betting against odds, which sometimes pays off. Gervonta only needs ONE shot to turn things around. That is something you dont get to learn. You got it, or you dont. He relies on that and he knows his power. And well, he keeps landing it, fight after fight... and 36 minutes are a looong way to go for anyone, even Shakur.
    Anyways... exciting times coming up!

Once Tank knows Shakur can't hurt him, he will let Shakur get comfortable so that he can catch him clean with power combos. It's not hard for him to allow Stevenson to be over-confident. Gervonta often uses this strategy to land his bombs on his opposition that never see it when that sneaky move is coming. Shakur, good luck with what you use on others...

You’re confusing shakur for one of tanks prior opponents. Shakur is levels above anyone tank has fought. If he lets shakur get “comfortable” he will lose round after round and shakur will embarrass tank to a UD. He’s gotta try and make it uncomfortable for shakur so he has a chance of winning. If not he will be waiting to land that big punch and lose the fight on the cards. Tank has to try and get shakur off his game in order to beat him because skill for skill shakur is better but tank has that power factor in his favor which is why people think it will go to tank. Power gets tamed if you are skilled enough. Look at any boxer vs puncher, the boxer usually always wins

Tank has ONE way of winning too. And that is by KO. So you could say the same for tank right? Tank would have to knock out shakur in order to win whereas shakur could box his head off which he is more than capable of doing. And oh he can get a stoppage too like bud did Errol. Shakur would not walk down tank that’s stupid. Shakur will fight according to his strengths. Tank has a punchers chance but no way he could outbox shakur unless he hurts him but then again, shakur is very elite defensively so I find it hard for the fighter with the lowest punch output to land on a very elite and game fighter. If they fought 10 times I’d have tank winning 2-3/ 10. The more time passes the better shakur will be so this will only favor shakur.

Tank has a high iq but that is not all it takes to be a true boxer. Tank is a power boxer. He knows he has power and carefully sets up his shot even if it means he loses some rounds initially. Shakur imo wins unless he gets careless in later rounds. I can see tank stopping him in 10. He would have won 9 out of that though. If we look at a similar match-up with Bivol he had to take different uppercuts and hooks but he had the strength and conditioning to pull trough. Bivol change of tempo and aggressive combinations were great aswell catching Canelo off guard. I will say when Tank puts on the high guard that usually means you getting walked down. I would give the edge to SS but Tank has more than a punchers chance. I always remember the great Joe Calzega. Mr. Gems appreciate the content for boxing fans to come out and share their thoughts. Tank likes to start fights slow to, as they've been saying, " download data ". These early rounds Tank cannot afford to give away too many of because Shakur to too good to be giving him anything. Shakur will pick his shots on Tank in the high guard, but one of the things Tank has in his favor is his timing. Also because both are southpaws that distance becomes closer for Tank to land that straight left on the slip counter. For Shakur it's those in-between shots I'm worried about from Tank catching him. Off of points alone I can see Shakur dominating the first half 3 to 1 even 4 to 2. The 2nd half will be a true test for Shakur against Tank because by the 7 round he has all the information he needs to start really picking his shots and when he lands them Shakur going to feel them. Thats when Tank may begin to start walking Shakur down a little bit, forcing him to fight off the back foot.

@@BoxingGems I thought that Devin's neglect of gaining lead outside foot position would spell disaster for him and that Loma would exploit his absence of inside controls and grappling. Devin still didn't gain dominant lead foot position, and only payed for it by eating some rear hands when Loma got on the front foot late in the fight. Also, Devin never allowed Loma to use his patented 1-2, rake, rear hand hook, or his shoulder turn pivot attack. Plus Devin was aggressive in not allowing the clinch or Loma's lead hook behind the ear when his taller opponents duck. Loma responded by taking a way Devin's jab, which is his best weapon, and employing his own jab. Haney instead leaned on a rear hand to the body, which I have never seen him use. I couldn't have seen this fight happening this way in a million years.
