    So guys the whole video got blocked this morning for using showtime PPV footage. The funny thing is I didn’t use any official PPV video footage from the fight. I have put in a dispute for this. So the video is up at the moment. Hopefully this get resolved! If it gets taken down you will be able to find it on my patreon. Thanks for all the support and comments on the video . I have been watching and analyzing fights for 40 years, and never have I been called a casual until I picked Bud by KO. To me it was obvious, but this new internet fanboy era had me actually second guessing myself and rewatching old fights. I wanted EJ to win but wouldnt be dissapointed by either outcome. I didnt think Bud had the power to hold off EJ. That being said, there was never a doubt who the better boxer was. No matter the outcome every boxing fan should be praising both fighters for even making this happen. There was a lot on the line and often enough we get fights way after we want them. Bud left no doubt about who the better boxer is. All of EJ's shortcomings were exposed in the worst way in this fight. Not being a quick fighter, not having a back up plan, and not being able to adjust. But again, I praise him for not allowing the magnitude of this fight to change how he approached it. Whats always worked for him failed him miserably on this night.

    • @rockabye_baby187
      @rockabye_baby187 9 місяців тому

      I don't think speed was the issue. The real difference and maybe this is what you actually meant was reaction time. Bud was able to act react respond sharper than Errol. But, over top of that was knowing what to do and when and how. He said it was all the stuff they worked on in camp. Errol didn't have any creativity. Crawford saw everything. He stood right in front of Bud. No angles. No stepping left right back. Bud kept it all in the center of the ring..Errol usually does a lot of his damage when he can maneuver you into the corners and on ropes. He did that in the first round. Crawford quickly made the adjustment. Never looked back.

    • @realtalk3567
      @realtalk3567 Місяць тому +2

      Sometimes it looks like a "speed" difference when one fighter is a higher level than another but it's really a timing and execution difference. When someone executes something at the perfect time it'll make the victim look slow. That's why there's such a thing called "boxing IQ" and not necessarily "the quickest fighter wins every exchange."

  • @Mitch_Feral
    @Mitch_Feral 10 місяців тому +21

    I'm sort of stunned by how close it followed what I was thinking would happen in my head - much more dominating by Crawford, but I had serious doubts that Spence could hurt him when looking at the last few years of Spence's fights and opponents, and I felt that Spence's biggest problem was his collapse of defensive responsibility on the advance - he's got a great chin, and a great guard when he's set, and he's great at getting his chin out of the fire inside...but near as makes no difference all the shots he's taken over his career that scuffed his paint happened while moving from outside to in.
    I was really startled by how little gameplan Spence had for Crawford's jab - flicker or battering ram, his jab from southpaw is one of the best in boxing, and it seemed like Spence's corner thought he'd just follow that lunging body shot in and the fight would be over. And when that didnt materialize - in that his jab wasnt scoring, certainly want doing damage, and then he was out-muscled when he finally got in there - he just started going backwards. And it seems *very* clear they never trained for that.
    Crawford's been my favorite boxer for a good long while, this was great to see. He didnt do anything I thought he couldnt - I've just never imagined he'd do it ALL in one fight.

    Bud knew exactly where to send his hands after a jab by the end of the 1st and beginning of the 2nd. He was watching how Spence reacted to the jab, then you could literally see him map out and telegraph the exact punch that would put Spence down in the second. Crazy how it took moments to go from mapping out to perfect execution

    Very very good analysis of this fight, I actually listed to it twice. I have followed Crawford since I saw him fight years ago in Glasgow. I felt he would win, but I was shocked at the fashion in which he won. It was a master class of excellence in boxing. Spence in my opinion needs to retire as he will now be hunted as his vulnerabilities have been outed for the world to see. I am not sure who Crawford will pick next. I will need to mull that one over

  • @chadwithautism
    @chadwithautism 10 місяців тому +1

    It was seriously a battle of intuition in terms of picking shots amidst the gaps of time that were available within the given distance. Within intuition, Spence fundamentally picked the jab as a means to impose the pace of the fight in his favour. Morerso than rhythm, Crawford intuitively picked off his jabs within its given distance and varying spaces, slowly letting his intuition dominate and winning over the pace of the fight as time went by. When Crawford felt like he won over the pace enough, he made subtle changes to his rhythm and placement within his offense and footwork to subtly manipulate the distance, as well as his guard and sparingly, head movement to present different openings. I felt that the thing with Spence is that he already sort of got into that instinct and rhythm to enforce his jabs, and body shots on the inside, which gave Crawford's intuition the ability to guide aforementioned adjustments better as the rounds progressed.

    I had picked Crawford, not so much because I expected such a dominant performance, but because I've come to see Spence as a sort of "one-trick pony," he just sort of does one thing, and does it well, but he's basically always the same. When that is true, if any fighter can figure out the key to beating that one thing, and if you have no "Plan B," you're in big trouble. And Crawford has always seemed to me to be a more well-rounded out fighter.
    What surprised me the most was that Crawford didn't just beat Spence, didn't just dominate him. He embarrassed and humiliated him. I even felt that he exposed him. I can't imagine what a nightmare all this must have been -- and still must be -- for Spence himself. Looking at Spence's face during the fight, I could imagine him having trouble with fully realizing what was happening to him. It was as if he was thinking, "This isn't what was supposed to happen."
    In fact, it seemed to me that neither Spence nor his corner had the ability to figure anything out, and consequently, to be aware of the seriousness and danger of the situation they found themselves in. I kept thinking, "They seem almost unprepared for the idea that they would face real hardship in this fight, or that they would need to change tactics."
    I think you can do such a good job -- even on yourself -- of convincing everyone that you can win, that it actually blinds you to the fact that you are, in fact, losing. And then, suddenly, it's over, and you are walking back to the dressing room.

    Remember the night Frazier beat Ali? "There was no better fighter on the planet than the one we got that night."
    This fight was a perfect example of everything coming together. Bud had that placid Buddha demeanor, continuously executed his gameplan, and remained under control, harnessing his inner beast.
    He got mad at one point and threw a running left hand, then as he threw it caught himself, seemed to ask "what am I doing?" Then immediately pendulum stepped back to a prudent position. Composed fighters are deadly. Excited fighters are merely dangerous.
    All respect to Spence, he went in and tried to impose his will, but the gameplan of team Bud was too good relative to the Errol that was in the ring. Would love to see another.

    Most people wont admit this but im a casual fan. When this fight was first announced I picked crawford. After watching some of his fights I felt he had too many tools in the toolbox. Pressure doesn't have much of an effect on a pure boxer. They didn't give him credit for the shawn porter fight which I felt was ridiculous. After his corner told bud bud that porter was winning, he went out and knocked him down twice in rapid succession. I don't think crawford put everything out there which is pretty scary. We have seen the same when it came to mayweather. They said some of his opponents were too big and strong. Then he made them look stupid. They said he didn't have power but they wasn't walking him down like that. I think an immediate rematch will end in the same result because crawford is simply the superior boxer and game plans on game plans.

    Terrence Bud Crawford has been my favourite fighter for about 8 years now. I had fell out with the sport until I watched Bud fight one night and he got me back involved again. This man is a proper fighting man. He lives the life of a fighter and these PBC clowns that doubted Bud Crawford are left with Egg on their faces now.
    All these ldbc channles who trashed this man's name for years need to come humbly and sincerely apologise.
    Somebody in a video I watched from the US said Erol looked shocked by Bud's power but he was also embarrassed by the knockdown in the 2nd round and didn't know how to cope with it.
    Now if u watch when Lomachenko had Haney on the ropes in rounds 10 & 11 battering him Bill Haney got his son to snap out of it when he was panicking. After the 10th Devin was panicking when he went back to his corner and Bill snapped him out of it and told him ur still winning this fight. Get ur jab working and keep that stick in his face.
    At least Bill was able to give simple instructions to Devin but Erol had never been in this position before and he was in shock and it seemed like he didn't have a trainer who knew what to do.
    He actually said in an interview after the fight that he was watching the 1st couple of rounds and saw Erol was struggling and he actually said and I quote "We were hoping he could catch him (Bud) with a big shot".. Hoping??? What kind of training or coaching is that nonsense. This guy is taking pelters now and rightly so but it should only come from those of us who understand this sport. Not those muppet PBC cult members who D-Ride for promotional companies and specific fighters.
    Now these same dudes are deficating on Spence while pushing Pussin' Boots Ennis into the role of their next saviour. The ldbc clowns are the biggest bunch of race baiting scum I have ever seen. FURY battered Wilder and they made up stories just to make sure Wilder could get his ass KO'd again or rea this time..
    These same bums called Bud Crawford a coon, uncle tom sellout and that he was over at Bob Arums plantation.
    They said Bud would rather fight for the White man while all the time not realising that the front money for the PBC came from a White owned company called "WADDELL & REED".. u CAN'T MAKE THIS ISH UP".. Like somebody make this make sense to me..
    These ldbc pro black channels attacked one of their own and one of the best since Floyd like he was a white man. Bud Crawford has put up with years of this abuse. Threats on his life and anybody who supported him in the online boxing community got the same treatment as well. It's sickening but the PBC and Al Hayman paid money to these fools to black ball Bud and slander his good name. They paid some of those channels to do that. They should hang their heads in shame but they're already coming with the excuses as to why Erol lost.
    He weight drained, even though they all said he was going to run through Bud, the Car crash had cost him but they weren't mentioned when he fought Garcia or UGAS.. Funny how they're all issues now. I hate these ppl. I don't carry hate in me for others but these ppl make me sick to the pit of my stomach.
    MY APOLOGIES FOR THE LONG WINDED RANT MY FRIEND. I enjoy ur videos so keep up the great work..

He had SERIOUS strength behind his placement as well as accuracy, and His Counter Uppercuts, Body Combinations, and *Pull Counter(s) as well as the stiff power jab 3-4 times in a row were keeping me glued to the screen like it stole my dinner and cussed my moms out...
    I bet Bud for the 4th or the 9th given the two scenarios I saw coming... and got the bag w/ a little bit of luck. I feel Terence had a moment in the 4th, per how Bud fights, Errol showed staggery legs, and Bud usually jumps for the kill... Bud let it go... But at least I got the 9th, and Bud got to show this wasn't any "momentum wash" this was round by round dissemination.

    Wow. This was the fight of the century. Bc Terrance Crawford said that he knew after the first round that he would win the fight. And it's easy to see why. Crawford primarily used his defense in the first round to find the timing and rhythm of Errol Spence. Once Crawford learned it, it was a chess match of waiting for Spence to fall into Crawford's traps of counters and firm jabs to dismantle Spence's main jab. This was real masterclass of boxing IQ, spacing, and learning your opponents tells.

    Spence and his team need to think very carefully about any rematch. Spence simply doesn't have the tools to handle Crawford. His problem lies in the fact that Crawford is capable of making adjustments on the fly. Crawford will quickly unpack any new game plan that Spence brings into a second fight, and his superior skills and movement will then lead to the same result. Plus - and it is a big plus - Crawford is now 100% in Spence's head. You don't come into a rematch with the right mindset after a beatdown like that unless you are Rocky Balboa.

    Literally one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. Somebody ask me before the fight when Crawford would take him out I said I said the 2nd then I said but i said really 9th because he's going to want to give everybody a good show

    This is just my opinion I truly believe we haven't even seen the best of Terence yet and that's scary.

    Nice job. I liked Crawford BIG entering this fight, but I’m extremely surprised by the total domination. The only path to a rematch which might make sense for Spence would be to go up to 154 and fight a few southpaws first.
