There is not a HUGE difference between the M5 and M550i Gearbox is the same, aesthetics, different suspension, M5 has M Suspension all wheel drive, obvious interior options, and more top end. CS is another beast. But honestly the M550i is a very close shadow to a M5
I had a 2018 RS5 and now have a 2021 M550, 0-60 the RS5 pulls a bit harder, after 60 it is no contest. The RS5 is great for short bursts but lacks top end.

Reliability wise RS5 will be better. I have an EA888 and S63 engine, the V8 is generating too much heat compared to smaller engines.
