We’ve got Mat in the all-new BMW M5 Competition, and he’s going up against the new BMW M550i and Evolve’s incredible 1000hp M5!
So how do the stats stack up? Well there’s one thing which is the same across all three cars - they’re all powered by a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8. However, that’s where the similarities end! While the M5 Competition can produce 625hp & 750Nm, while the M550i may have exactly the same engine, but it only puts down 530hp & 750Nm.
As for the tuned M5 - well that engine’s been custom built so that it now produces a ludicrous 1,000hp & 1,100Nm of torque!!

Not quite , the S63 engine is robust unlike the N63 found in the 550, and M5 has AWD now and better styling so it’s really the all in one package, 550 is simply a cheaper trim
with a 1200€ tune, that M550i will deliver 700HP, that's a decent amount of money to unleach the 4.4l V8 !

nor 600HP, nor an M engine with upgraded internals, and all the other M goodies. What you've got is essentially a 550 labelled as a pseudo M-car which its not, M5 is a true M car with S63TU engine, while the 550 has a N63TU with 10-15% less HP and less Torque, better value... lmao it really depends what you're looking for

Not to mention it has tons of potential with extremely good ride quality
If only they were reliable they will be near perfect.
I have one, it's tuned with 60k hard driven miles. I've had ZERO problems and absolutely no oil consumption. My car has the N63R engine. Updated version. its faster than my 21 M5 competition (no tune )

M550 is the way to go.. its fast, fun, and more than streetable enough to drive every single day. I just drove one and fell in love.

You know, every time I watch these, I'm in awe at how good Matt has gotten at launching these performance cars. Even when he's in a lesser car, he still manages to get off quicker than the others regardless of them catching up after.

The m550i is still so impressive for competing w these m5!!! I love them 😍!!! My 2016 m550i is a monster, no m5 but for the car it's a beast! I only have MHD tune, intakes, upgraded intercooler, catless downpipes and borla exahust making around 500hp even. Can't wait to upgrade to an m5 when the pockets are a bit Fuller 😂.

Big Matt GREATEST CHANNEL EVER. YOU ARE CRUSHING IT. two quick improvement suggestions though - trap speed is very important to roll racers as well so when you do the quarter mile times and share the ET, can you also share the trap speed? Second - if you have modded cars, if they’ve been dynoed can you share their WHEEL HP? crank hp is fine too but that can vary depending on the % you use for drivetrain loss. Thanks brother !

I guess that's super subjective. I personally would get the m550i if I had to go with any of those; cheaper, more comfortable and 95% as quick as an M5. Those 400 extra hp only show on the Autobahn and on drag strips anyway.

@@Christs_Apologet imagine your maximum ability to physically workout, is hindered by your hand tied behind your back while standing on ice. Your balance and grip to be planted is near impossible. The same struggle you'll get trying to run on ice, is equivalent to driving on wet/fresh cut grass

Get those evolve cars in the best conditions up with some real heavy weights just so show how quick they are! People honestly do not realise the performance they have. Thinking a simple stage 2 remap is that fast!

Ricky's M5 really moves wow in the wet it does a 10.9 in the dry 10 seconds flat yet no launch control very impressed.

The M550i is so underrated. According to Autotopnl it has a similar 100-200 as a C8 RS6
That's why they called it a RS6 killer
