Most DJs hate a mirrored layout. The Rane One mimics a two turntable and mixer setup. Think Vestax PMC 06 and two 1200’s setup in a non battle fashion.
Moving the bpm fader to the far left would improve functionality and aesthetics IMO. They wouldn’t necessarily have to mirror the whole controller just the platters and the the bmp faders
@@habitat2990 I totally agree here. Yes I mentioned a mirrored layout, but that was just a suggestion to fix the problem. Not the ONLY way to go, just one way. Your way would work as well and I had considered that too.
The Performer is nice, just not for me. It definitely won't solve the problems of the Rane One for me. It would only add more problems lol. Here are the reasons why I don't want a Performer: 1. Too big. Too heavy. 2. A TON of cool effects that I will never use. Great for an EDM DJ though. 3. Platters are too stiff for me, no matter how many slip mats I put under them. Anyway, I am gonna stick with my Rane One and put up a new video on Monday or Tuesday stating why I will not be purchasing the MK2.
Can’t believe the mk2 is still not symmetrical. The right platter so close to that mixer section is just too cramped. I thought they would have corrected that but they did not.
@ Yes, that's it. I should warn you though that the effects turn on instantly, but to turn them off, you have to hold the pedal down about 2 or 3 seconds.
Nice video. Would you be interested in sharing your midi map? Thr knobs on the front of thr mk1 is definitely annoying. I bump mine all the time or thr headphone wire turns the knobs.
I don't mind at all. I have a whole video showing what changes I made. I think I probably need to make another video showing HOW to midi map though because it seems a lot of DJs don't know HOW to midi map in VDJ.
Love everything about the RANE ONE MK2 very excited about the upgrades to MY beloved RANE ONE. The White seems cool, I prefer Black by default but I think SILVER would’ve been cold AF on that jawn for real. Agreed those knobs in the front panel aren’t my favorite and they always move around magically during transport from gig to gig. Brilliant idea on mapping the Sampler Volume! But it’s cool they’re adding a separate knob.
I agree with your take on this. I too have a white Rane One with re mapped buttons. I have been very happy with it since I got my custom mapping dialed in. I’m on the fence about if I would purchase the MK2. I have already solved my stems problem and basically remapped all the buttons for to my and other things like instant effects and button for echo out etc. The big draw if the onboard FX but not sure if that is enough for me to upgrade. The MK2 also has the ability to set the filter knob to 3 or 4 additions functions Besides just filter. Thats a dope improvement as well. I too would have love to see the mic/aux knob moved up on the board with an fx button or even just an echo button like my Rane A TRAK has.
Great analysis, thank you! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (mistake turkey blossom warfare blade until bachelor fall squeeze today flee guitar). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
I always run my rig through my Yamaha MG06X which is about the size of that really cool effects unit you have beside your RANE ONE. Often times I will run (2) Mics in the Yamaha and my Booth mic into my RANE ONE. Agreed ✅ That Mic pre sounds good with my Shure Beta 58A no complaints there but, the system sounds BETTER through my Yamaha Or Mackie ProFX6v3 (Which I always have, it’s never an inconvenience) literally in my backpack with my mics. When I do weddings 1 mixer is outside or wherever the Ceremony is. Then I have the other 6 Channel mixer running my RANE ONE or DDJ-REV5 inside the main ballroom. SOME DJ’s like the Performer & FOUR using those channels for the SAME reason I bring an external mixer because they’re NOT mixing 4 Decks just the inputs 🤷🏽♂️😂 I’m so excited about the RANE ONE MK2 definitely buying one for myself.
That's great to hear! I'm pretty sure I'll be getting one as well. I have some news about it that I will be sharing in a new video later this week. Stay tuned!
Microphone FX are DSP based not software, so your comment about going into software to make adjustments is not true. We are still developing the firmware and will have a way to turn on/off mic FX via hardware.
Man, did I just die and go to heaven? Thank you so much Jason for confirming that! Now I just may have to get one of these sooner rather than later. Woo hoo!!! I'll make another video telling my subscribers what you said. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Before I make another video explaining this issue, I need a little more clarification because I don't want to spread misinformation. You said there will be "a way to turn on/off mic FX via hardware." Specifically speaking, will we have to go inside a menu on the Rane One to turn the mic effects on/off or will there be a physical mic FX on/off button? The answer to this question is major because without a button, then it'll be the same as accessing it via software, ie.. too slow for real world usage.
Haha😂 my man you jumped on this video quick! Heck yeah lol As far as getting the Rane One, Im holding off. I actually use to have a Herc T7 because it eas so much lighter but tbh bro, it was a chesp piece if plastic crap. Cue buttons, paddles everything felt extremely cheap. So I'm holding out for them to make a 2nd version that is better built. You just cant beat the 11 pound weights Also, I agreee they should have left it black. That was a dumb move
I've had a chance to calm down and think about this thing logically and I definitely won't be buying it. Not this year, not next year, not ever. I'm busy with gigs this weekend but plan on making a new video all about why I changed my mind on Monday or Tuesday. Stay tuned.

If they only knew lol. Seriously though, if they would consult with me or listen to me, they could sell a TON of these things, however, I truly think they missed the ball completely. I'll have a new video explaining why in detail next week.
I got the performer! But it won’t fit in my Danny Max booth!!!!!! Ahhhhhhh you got to be kidding me! I don’t want to buy another piece of furniture! But rane one mk2…. Man I don’t know!
Wow. So sorry to hear that James. So is there no way to make it fit? Do you need a new top part on your booth to make it fit or the Performer just won't fit inside at all? I would suggest not getting a Rane One Mk1 or MK2 without doing a test drive on it first. Many of us love them, but then some DJs hate them lol.
My biggest problem with Rane is the RGB colors are so man on man looking, as well as most of their gear now. Nobody wants pink make the button red. Nobody wants some kind of light or off blue make it blue. Personally if I bought the rain one, it would only be because of the way it looks. It’s the first product they released in the last over eight years that is good looking. lol jk

Nah, moving the pitch slider on left deck, would have been a bad decision, in my opinion......................
So you prefer it right next to the left volume fader? Interesting. I've never heard anyone say that before.
